Abstract:
Income growth and income inequality is an important theme in Economic research. It has been debated for decades whether income inequality hinders or enhances income growth. One of the classic models of this relationship was the Kuzenets curve which shows inequality against income per capita can be defined by an inverted U-shaped curve, over a period of time. The purpose of the paper is to see to see the relationship between income growth and inequality on a municipality level. To do this, four econometric panel data models were constructed with data gathered from Statbank Denmark. Log of incom

The effect of income inequality has been controversial issue for decades, which researchers have concluded conflicting results. Many researchers have found that income inequality is conducive on economic growth, while others found harmful effect. Hence, this paper investigates the impact of income inequality on economic growth by using the cross sectional analysis. The averaged data from periods of 2002-2006 were used and observations from 90 developed and developing countries were also used. We find that income inequality is negatively associated in economic growth.

碩士<br>淡江大學<br>統計學系碩士班<br>99<br>Theoretic economic models have shown that foreign direct investment (FDI) may affect income inequality and such impact varies according to the stock of human capital and/ or level of financial development in the host country. The inequality effect of FDI may vary depending on the country’s skilled labor abundance and level of development. This thesis uses the semiparametric varying coefficient partially linear regression model to investigate the association between FDI and inequality and employs the profile likelihood ratio (PLR) test proposed by Fan and Huang

Abstract:
This research analyses the statistical relationship between income distribution and seven taxation and government expenditure components in Namibia using data from 1996-2016. The research is aimed at creating new knowledge on the research topic because no literature exists for Namibia. The Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) cointegration technique was employed to assess the long-run relationship between the dependent and independent variables in Eviews. The research findings indicated that there is no long-run relationship between the dependent variable and independent variables. In the sho

Abstract:
The current dissertation presents an empirical analysis of the relationship between income inequality, inflation, and public debt in 14 developed economies. For this, a Panel VAR model is estimated for an annual balanced panel data between 1980 and 2019, where it is taken into account the endogenous relationship between the variables. This study also includes the use of a heterogeneous model, Global VAR, where individual country specifications are taken into account. In relation to the homogeneous model, it is concluded that the positive change in income inequality results in a decrease in

Global civilisation, and therefore population health, is threatened by excessive inequality, weapons of mass destruction, inadequate economic and political theory and adverse global environmental change. The unequal distribution of global foreign exchange adjusted income is both a cause and a reflection of global social characteristics responsible for many aspects of these inter-related crises. ¶ The global distribution of foreign exchange adjusted income for the period 1964-1999 is examined. Using data for more than 99% of the global population, a substantial divergence in its distribution is

The realization that economic conditions can affect the value-relevance of reported earnings has motivated a series of contextual studies in the field of earnings management. Less than one year after the first reported case of COVID-19 in the U.S., this thesis investigates how and why the magnitude and direction of income manipulation by North American firms changed in 2020. This study is split into a univariate analysis and a regression analysis part. This research conducts tribological investigation in three areas. The first area of research is to obtain basic understanding of tribological properties of high performance Inconel alloys. Pin-on-disk testing was conducted through a range of applied normal loads and sliding velocities in an unlubricated condition. Average friction coefficient, friction work, and specific wear rates were calculated from the data and microscopy techniques were used to observe and characterize wear mechanisms. Experimental results show a dependence of average coefficient of friction as a function of frictional wo
