Abstract:
<p>This study aims to reveal the synergy of the relationship between self-regulated learning and learning independence of Arabic learning achievement among students of Madrasah Aliyah Muʹallimat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta 2015/2016 academic year.</p><p>This research is a regression analysis research with quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of Class X Multilingual MA Muʹallimat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta 2015/2016 academic year. The sampling technique is a purposive sampling technique that is 120 students in multilingual classes which are divided into 3 classes, namely classes C, D and E who settled in the dormitory. This was done with a variety of considerations including the ability of researchers in terms of objectives, energy and time. The method of data collection is done by using observations, questionnaires / questionnaires, and documentation. To test the reliability of the instrument, it uses a validity and reliability test. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 22.00.</p><p>The results of this study state that there is a significant synergy between self-regulated learning and learning independence of the Arabic learning achievement of MA Muʹallimat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta students. Self-regulated learning (X1) contributed 28.2%, the contribution of learning independence (X2) was 18.5% and the contribution of both together was 11.9% while the remaining 88.1% was influenced by other variables outside Research such as motivation, discipline, learning environment, methods, teaching style of teachers, supporting facilities and learning facilities. Of all the factors that support the success of learning achievement also requires strategies and persistent efforts in learning.</p><p> </p>

Abstract:
This study aims to obtain data on the theme of "family" and its relevance in learning German for class XII IIS SMA Negeri 11 Makassar. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The population of this study were all students of class XII SMA Negeri 11 Makassar who studied German which consisted of 3 (three) classes, namely class XII IIS 1, XII IIS 2 and XII IIS 3 with a total of 106 people. The sample technique used was purposive sampling, amounting to 36 students. The data collection technique used an open questionnaire. The data that has been obtained were analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results showed that family life in Germany was very good. This can be seen based on the culture of life through the attitude of independence, equal rights (work) in the family, and free time. The relevance of learning in this study is mainly on cultural themes that themes like this are suitable themes to be studied because the purpose of language learning is not only to mastery of language but also to culture, namely by looking for learning materials that are related to cultural and universal themes. but on the one hand it is specific in purpose so that the learning process occurs much faster because the themes used or studied also exist in our culture. In addition, we see that the German family is very punctual and disciplined, so its relevance in the learning process is highly respected by the nature of discipline and timeliness.

Informan dalam penelitian ini yaitu guru. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji normalitas, homogenitas, independensi dan uji linieritas. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode korelasional. Tujuannya adalah untuk melihat kekuatan kontribusi antara variabel gaya kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah dan variabel pelaksanaan supervisi dengan variabel kinerja guru Sekolah Dasar Kecamatan Nanggalo, Kota Padang. Perjuangan untuk memartabatkan bahasa Melayu dilakukan di semua peringkat, iaitu di peringkat individu, persatuan dan pertubuhan politik. Usaha ini sedikit sebanyak memberikan keinsafan kepada generasi muda bahawa perjuangan mendaulatkan bahasa Melayu bukanlah satu perjuangan yang mudah. Ianya memberikan gambaran yang jelas bahawa bahasa Melayu dipercayai dan diyakini berupaya bertindak sebagai alat penyatupaduan nasional dan mampu menimbulkan jati diri sepunya dalam kalangan masyarakat sejak kemerdekaan lagi. Justeru itu, pembelajaran dan pemudah cara (PdPc) bahasa Melayu tidak seharusnya hanya menitikberatkan penguasaan sistem bahasa dan kemahiran bahasa sebaliknya menyuburkan tradisi pemikiran, nilai dan budaya ilmu yang mampu membawa generasi muda ke arah mencapai matlamat perpaduan negara. Justeru itu, kajian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau potensi falsafah bahasa dalam pembelajaran dan pemudah cara (PdPc) bahasa Melayu untuk penyatupaduan nasional. Pengumpulan data dijalankan melalui kaedah tinjauan menggunakan soal selidik ke atas 200 orang peserta kajian yang meliputi guru Bahasa Melayu yang mengajar di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK), Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK), Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) dan Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) di negeri Perak, Kelantan, Pulau Pinang dan Negeri Sembilan. Analisis data dibahagikan kepada 4 tema utama, iaitu: (1) Persepsi guru tentang konsep falsafah bahasa dalam pendidikan Bahasa Melayu, (2) Persepsi guru terhadap konsep penyatupaduan Nasional dalam hubungannya dengan pendidikan Bahasa Melayu, (3) Tahap kemahiran guru apabila berlakunya aspek penyerapan elemen falsafah bahasa dalam PdPc Bahasa Melayu, dan (4) Tahap penerimaan guru terhadap penyerapan elemen falsafah bahasa dalam PdPc Bahasa Melayu sebagai strategi penyatupaduan Nasional. Dapatan kajian daripada pelaksana pendidikan iaitu guru Bahasa Melayu ini amat penting kepada pembuat dasar dalam memastikan PdPc bahasa Melayu di sekolah mampu membina nilai dan keperibadian Malaysia dalam kalangan murid-murid pelbagai kaum. Abstract: The struggle to uphold the Malay language is at all levels, at the individual level, associations and political organizations. This effort has given a bit of conviction to the younger generation that the struggle to uphold the Malay language is not an easy struggle. It provides a clear picture that the Malay language is believed to be believed to be capable of acting as a national unity tool and capable of raising the common identity among the people since independence. Therefore, the learning and facilitator (PdPc) of Malay should not only emphasize the mastery of the language system and language skills but instead enrich the tradition of thought, value and culture of knowledge capable of bringing the younger generation towards achieving the goal of national unity. Hence, this study aims to explore the potential of language philosophy in Malay language learning and facilitator (PdPc) for national integration. The data collection was carried out through survey method using questionnaire on 200 participants of the study which included teachers in Bahasa Melayu who taught at. (SJKC) and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) in Perak, Kelantan, Penang and Negeri Sembilan. Data analysis is divided into four main themes, namely: (1) Teacher perceptions about the concept of language philosophy in Malay language education, (2) Teacher perceptions on the concept of national integration in relation to Malay education, (3) Teacher skill level in the absorption aspects the element of language philosophy in Malay Language PdPc, and (4) The level of teacher acceptance towards the absorption of the element of the language philosophy in PdPc Bahasa Melayu as a National integration strategy. The findings of the study of the Malay language teachers are very important to policy makers in ensuring the Malay Language PdPc in schools is able to build the value and personality of Malaysia among the various ethnic groups.

Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) menghasilkan m-learning yang dapat digunakan pada pembelajaran mata pelajaran geografi bagi peserta didik kelas X SMA, (2) menghasilkan m-learning yang layak untuk mata pelajaran geografi, (3) mengetahui keefektifan m-learning untuk mata pelajaran geografi, dan (4) mengetahui pengaruh m-learning dalam mendukung kemandirian dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) m-learning dibuat dengan menggunakan adobe flash cs 5.5. m-learning dikembangkan untuk pokok bahasan Hidrosfer; (2) m-learning telah memenuhi kriteria dan dinyatakan layak sebagai media pembelajaran berdasarkan validasi dengan kategori “baik”; (3) keefektifan pembelajaran geografi lebih baik dengan menggunakan m-learning dibuktikan dengan adanya ketuntasan belajar pada kelas eksperimen; (4) m-learning signifikan mendukung kemandirian dan hasil belajar peserta didik.Kata kunci: m-learning, geografi, kemandirian DEVELOPING MOBILE LEARNING TO SUPPORT INDEPENDENCE AND LEARNING OUTCOMES IN HIGH SCHOOL GEOGRAPHY LESSONAbstractThe research is aimed at: (1) producing m-learning that can be used in teaching geography subjects for students of class X SMA, (2) producing proper m-learning for Geography lesson, (3) finding out the effectiveness of m-learning in Geography lesson, and (4) detecting the m-learning effect in Geography lesson to support independent and outcomes of learning for students. This is a Research and Development type of research. Fokus utama analisis adalah penggunaan bahasa Arab serta aktifitas berbahasa Arab baik di dalam maupun diluar kelas.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, pembelajaran bahasa Arab dapat membantu pembentukan karakter santri secara berkesinambungan dengan ditopang oleh kehadiran sistem dan corak pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Pondok Pesantren. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menggali ideologi yang terkandung dalam bahasa politik Soekarno selaku salah satu tokoh pendiri bangsa dan proklamator kemerdekaan NKRI, (2) menggali motivasi yang ada di balik lahirnya ideologi dalam bahasa tersebut, dan (3) melihat perubahan sosial budaya sebagai dampak dari ideologi bahasa politik Soekarno. Untuk mencapai ketiga tujuan penelitian di atas, peneliti menggunakan Teori Analisis Wacana Kritis (AWK) model Fairclough (1989, 1995, 2005, 2006) sebagai teori utama, dan teori Ideologi sebagai teori pendukung. Metode yang diterapkan dalam pengumpulan data adalah metode dokumentasi, sedangkan metode yang diterapkan dalam analisis data adalah metode deskripstif kualitatif yang diterapkan berdasarkan tiga level analisis AWK Fairclough. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Ideologi yang terkandung dalam bahasa Soekarno adalah ideologi ‘persatuan dan kesatuan sebagai hal yang penting’, ideologi ‘revolusi adalah bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari jiwa bangsa Indonesia’, dan ideologi ‘imperialisme sebagai musuh utama bangsa Indonesia’. Ideologi tersebut perlu dihidupi sebagai salah satu strategi demi menjaga ketahanan, keamanan, dan perdamaian Indonesia. Selanjutnya, ideologi tersebut dilatari oleh keadaan bangsa yang plural dan kesadaran bahwa sifat statis adalah penghalang kemajuan bangsa. Kandungan ideologi dimaksud membawa perubahan dalam cara berkomunikasi dan cara hidup bangsa Indonesia.Kata kunci: ideologi, bahasa politik, analisis wacana kritis AbstractThe current study aims at: (1) to explore the ideology conceived in Soekarno’s political language as one of the nation founding fathers and the proclaimer of Indonesia independence, (2) to explore the motivations behind the birth of ideology in the language, and (3) to see the socio-cultural changes as the result of Soekarno’s political ideology. To achieve the research objectives, researcher used Critical Discourse Analysis Theory (CDA) of Fairclough (1989, 1995, 2005, 2006) as the main theory, and the theory of Ideology as a supporting theory. The method applied in data collection was documentation method, while the method applied in data analysis was descriptive qualitative method that applied based on three analysis levels of Fairclough CDA theory. The results show that the ideology contained in Soekarno’s political language is the ideology of ‘unity as an important thing’, the ideology of ‘revolution as an integral part of the Indonesian nation soul’, and the ideology of ‘imperialism as the main enemy of the Indonesia’. The ideology needs to be lived for the sake of Indonesia’s endurance, security and peace. Furthermore, the ideology is based on a plural nation state and the realization that static nature is a barrier to the progress of a nation. The ideology contents have brought changes in the way of communication and the way of Indonesian nation life.Keywords: ideology, political language, critical discourse analysis

Abstract:
Penelitian ini secara khusus membahas novel­novel Indonesia karya Suparto Brata. Masalah yang dibahas meliputi eksotisme, bahasa, indentitas, dan resistensi terhadap kekuasaan kolonial ditinjau dari perspektif pascakolonial. Dari pembahasan yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa dalam novel­novel karya Suparto Brata tampak jelas bahwa kekuasaan kolonial (Belanda dan Jepang) masih memandang pribumi sebagai masyarakat yang eksotis, yang bodoh, yang perlu dibina agar menjadi pandai. Sementara itu, bahasa kolonial (Belanda dan Jepang) masih dipandang sebagai bahasa yang tinggi derajatnya sehingga jika pribumi hendak memperoleh derajat (identitas) yang setara harus mampu berbahasa Belanda dan Jepang. Berkenaan dengan hal itu, berkat kepandaian yang ditanamkan oleh pemerintah kolonial, yang antara lain melalui penguasaan bahasa dan pengetahuan atau budaya Barat, masyarakat pribumi justru memanfaatkan hal itu sebagai upaya untuk melakukan resistensi terhadap kekuasaan dalam rangka mencapai kemerdekaan (kebebasan) penuh. Abstract: The research is particularly a discussion on the Indonesian novels written by Suparto Brata. The problem under discussion involves the issues of exoticism, language, identity, and resistance against the colonial powers in the perspective of post­colonialism. From the analysis, Suparto Brata’s novels obviously delineate that the colonial powers (Dutch and Japan) were so underestimating the natives as exotic, unintelligent folks, that such people was necessary to be taught for them to be more educated. Also, the colonial languages (Dutch and Japanese) were so highly perceived that the natives were to be enforced to speak those languages if they wanted their social status (identity) to be regarded equal. Accordingly, owing to such intelligences endowed from the colonial rulers, among others are the language skill and the knowledge on Western cultures, the native people then took the benefits by way of making resistance against the colonial powers under the agenda of full independence (freedom). Abstract:
The formation of the Indonesian nation-state is inseparable from linguistic engineering. This includes phrases that transformed their lexical meaning to become a binding political concession produced by Indonesian political leaders in the 1940s and 1950s. The official name of the Indonesian state “The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia” is the result of this political concession in the statecraft of Indonesia. This article aims to examine the meanings of the “unity and unitary” phrases in the imagined form of Indonesian nation-state. Why was “unity and unitary” an effective political tool for the shaping of the imagination of “Indonesia”? Linguists and historians would these choices of words as a reflection of the power of language in the creation of facts. Language can transform a lexical fact into a material one. It is therefore essential to understand how did the phrase “unity and unitary” transform from a lexical to a political meaning in the context of Indonesian history? This article is based on literary analyses of official relevant documents, including the assembly proceeding of the Council for the Investigation of the Preparation for Indonesian Independence (Badan Penyelidik Usaha-usaha Persiapan Kemerdekaan Indonesia, BPUPKI) of August 1945, and the so-called Principal Guidelines for State Development (Garis-Garis Besar Haluan Negara, GBHN) of the New Order. It argues that the “unity and unitary” phrase represents a negotiation of diverse political elements which then shaped the crafting of Indonesian nation-state. The changes in the contexts in which the phrase was used show a changing association between the lexical and ideological meanings of the phrase. While these changes worked towards institutionalizing the Indonesian state, this article concludes that they also submerged the people’s discontents. The phrase “unity and unitary” reflected the making of people’s uniformity to a large extent.

Abstract:
This article covers the effort to restore the originality of regional names in West Sumatra. The effort aims to fulfill the mandate of UUD 1945.The chapters and verses on the language are included in Section XV, Article 36 UUD 1945 Subsection (4) mentions: "The naming as referred to in subsection (1) and subsection (3) may use regional language or foreign language when it has historical, cultural, customs, and/or religious values." There is almost no society in West Sumatera who reads, understands, and follow up the mandate of the UUD 1945 until 74 years of Indonesian independence. This article reports the results of the ‘qualitative-descriptive’ research on the names of areas in Padang City, one of the level II regions of West Sumatra. The regional names of the villages (103) at 11 sub-district of Padang was recorded, listed, and grouped. The name was confirmed by the authenticity of two respondents/public figure and government.It is noted that 70% of the regional names in Padang have been damaged; among others, using Indonesian vocabulary or vocabulary that is not in Minangkabau language and/or Indonesian at all. This percentage, then based on Kemendagri’s website, is assumed to reach 80% for regional name damage in all 19 regions in West Sumatera. The total number of nagari-level regions in West Sumatera is 903 units. The next research projects the ultimate goals: (1) the written regional naming document in Sumbar: the book of the regional name origin (historical value) and the book/dictionary of regional naming of Sumbar; (2) the birth of Perda Sumbar to return the original name of the district of Sumbar; and (3) desimination (1) and (2) on 19 district/city of Sumbar. Abstrak Artikel ini mencakup upaya mengembalikan keaslian nama daerah di Sumbar. Upaya tersebut bertujuan untuk memenuhi amanat UUD 1945. Pasal dan ayat tentang kebahasaan dimuat pada Bab XV, Pasal 36 UUD 1945 Ayat (4) berisi: “Penamaan sebagaimana yang dimaksud pada Ayat (1) dan Ayat (3) dapat menggunakan bahasa daerah atau bahasa asing apabila memiliki nilai sejarah, budaya, adat-istiadat, dan/atau keagamaan.” Hampir tidak ada masyarakat Sumbar yang membaca, memahami, dan menindaklanjuti amanat UUD 1945 itu sampai 74 tahun kemerdekaan Indonesia. Artikel ini melaporkan hasil penelitian ‘kualitatif-deskriptif’ tentang nama-nama daerah di Kota Padang, salah satu dari daerah tingkat II di Sumbar. Nama daerah se-tingkat kelurahan (103) pada 11 kecamatan Kota Padang dicatat, didaftar, dan dikelompokkan. Daftar nama itu dikonfirmasikan keasliannya kepada 2 orang responden/tokoh masyarakat dan pemerintah. Tercatat bahwa 70% nama daerah itu rusak; di antaranya, menggunakan kosa kata bahasa Indonesia atau kosa kata yang tidak ada dalam bahasa Minangkabau dan/atau bahasa Indonesia. Persentase ini kemudian, sesuai dengan data pada laman Kemendagri, diasumsikan mencapai 80% untuk kerusakan seluruh nama daerah di 19 kabupaten dan kota Sumbar. Jumlah keseluruhan daerah setingkat nagari di Sumbar adalah 903 buah. Penelitian lanjutan memproyeksikan sasaran akhir: (1) tersusunnya dokumen penamaan daerah di seluruh wilayah Sumbar: buku asal-usul nama daerah (nilai sejarah) dan buku dan/atau kamus penamaan daerah Sumbar, (2) lahirnya Perda Provinsi Sumbar ‘pengembalian nama asli daerah Sumbar’; dan (3) desiminasi (1) dan (2) pada 19 kabupaten dan kota Sumbar.
