Abstract:
The rectilinear rear-independent suspension investigated in this paper could remain the wheel alignment parameters invariable in theory. However, its dynamics is much more complex than that of the existing suspensions because of its redundant constraints in structure. Considering the elasticity of the rectilinear rear-independent suspension, a rigid-flexible half-car dynamic model is established for the first time based on the discrete time transfer matrix method. At the same time, a rigid half-car dynamic model is established as a comparison. The natural frequency characteristics and dynamic response of the rectilinear rear-independent suspension under random road excitations are analyzed and compared with those of rigid half-car dynamic model. The results reveal that the suspension system has apparent influence to the dynamics of vehicle. The wheel alignment parameters will fluctuate within a narrow range which is mainly determined by the rolling vibration of vehicle. And the suspension system could reduce and filter the road excitations with high frequency and small amplitude. This provides a good effect on the ride comfort of vehicle. Dynamics analysis of the rectilinear rear independent suspension reveals that the proposed modeling approach could deal with the dynamics of rigid-flexible multibody systems with redundant constraints effectively.

Abstract:
China FSAE race introduced formula racing gradually in the university campus in order to make FSAE racing have better ride comfort, handling and stability. Design and strength analysis of FSAE suspension were also proposed. Firstly, according to the whole layout of FSAE racing, the suspension mode was selected, both front and rear suspension were unequal push rod type double wishbone independent suspensions. Secondly, the main parameters and the orientation structure of the front and rear suspension were preliminarily designed. The wheels alignment parameters were selected with all kinds of stiffness, damping coefficient, followed by cross arm length calculation. According to the design parameters, suitable rim and shock absorber were chosen to determine the structure of the suspension’s main components . Thirdly, the front and rear suspension models were set up by the SolidWorks 3D software. Finally, the analysis of static stress on the main components of FSAE racing using the simulation module was performed to form the car suspension system so that it meets the design requirements of the FSAE regulations. This paper could provide references for the real vehicle development.

AbstractThe dynamics of flowing, concentrated suspensions of non-colloidal particles continues to surprise, despite decades of work and the widespread importance of suspension transport properties to industrial processes and natural phenomena. Blanc, Lemaire & Peters (J. Fluid Mech., 2014, vol. 746, R4) report a striking example. They probed the time-dependent dynamics of concentrated suspensions of rigid and neutrally buoyant spheres by simultaneously measuring the oscillatory rheology and the sedimentation rate of a falling ball. The sedimentation velocity of the ball through the suspension depends strongly on the frequency of oscillation, though the rheology was found to be independent of frequency. The results demonstrate the complexities of suspension flows and highlight opportunities for improving models by exploring suspension dynamics and rheology over a wide range of conditions, beyond steady and unidirectional ones.

Abstract:
A structure decoupling control strategy of half-car suspension is proposed to fully decouple the system into independent front and rear quarter-car suspensions in this paper. The coupling mechanism of half-car suspension is firstly revealed and formulated with coupled damping force (CDF) in a linear function. Moreover, a novel dual dampers-based controllable quarter-car suspension structure is proposed to realize the independent control of pitch and vertical motions of the half car, in which a newly added controllable damper is suggested to be installed between the lower control arm and connection rod in conventional quarter-car suspension structure. The suggested damper constantly regulates the half-car pitch motion posture in a smooth and steady operation condition meantime achieving the expected completely structure decoupled control of the half-car suspension, by compensating the evolved CDF.

Abstract:
The rectilinear rear independent suspension investigated in this paper benefits from its excellent kinematic characteristics. Because of the over-constraints of the rectilinear rear independent suspension as a rigid-flexible coupled multi-body system, its elastokinematics are heavily dependent on the compliance characteristics. This paper proposes an efficient approach to establish its elastokinematic model based on the transfer matrix method. First, the overall system transfer equation of the rectilinear rear independent suspension is established. Then, the statics equation is obtained by introducing external loads and expanding the overall system transfer equation. Different configurations of rubber bushings are discussed with respectg to the natural frequency and the static deflections. Comparisons between numerical simulations and kinematic and compliance tests not only verified the approach but also demonstrated the excellent wheel alignment capacity of the rectilinear rear independent suspension.

Abstract:
Bearingless permanent magnet synchronous motor (BPMSM) combines the characteristic of the conventional permanent magent synchronous motor and magnetic bearing in one electric motor. BPMSM is a kind of high performance motor due to having both advantages of PMSM and magnetic bearing with simple structure, high efficiency, and reasonable cost. The research on BPMSM is to design and analyse BPMSM by using Maxwell 2-Dimensional of ANSYS Finite Element Method (FEM). Independent suspension force model and bearingless PMSM model are developed by using the method of suspension force. Then, the mathematical model of electromagnetic torque and radial suspension force has been developed by using Matlab/Simulink. The relation between force, current, distance and other parameter are determined. This research covered the principle of suspension force, the mathematical model, FEM analysis and digital control system of bearingless PMSM. This kind of motor is widely used in high speed application such as compressors, pumps and turbines.

A 5-DOF active suspension model is established to study the trucks vibration performance, and a fuzzy logic controller has been designed in Matlab/Simulink. The simulation result shows that the control system on the trucks body suspensions can not only reduce the vibration of body but also the vibration level of the drivers seat, which improves the maneuverability and stability of the truck. Considering that the active suspension has complex structure and high cost, it is necessary to find a way to reduce the cost of production. The independent active control on front suspension or rear suspension has been studied and the effectiveness of the different control methods have been compared in detail.

Abstract:
The international criminal Court system (ICC) whose mission is to ensure international justice, is based on a close relationship with the security Council. So it is proper to wonder about the Council’s role in the functioning of international criminal justice. Such a questionning is fundamental, for the intervention of a political body into the functioning of a judicial body calls into question the missions of both institutions. The Council’s interference in the activity of the ICC, based on its mission of maintaining international peace, is actually carried out on behalf of an international order intended by the Council itself. This role affects the functioning, the independence and even the impartiality of the ICC. The powers the Rome Statute gives to the Council allow it to refer to the ICC, to impose for the States to cooperate with the Court, to suspend its activity or also to qualify an act as a crime of aggression. However the relations between the Council and the ICC should not be subordinated, but maintained in mutual respect. Thus there is a real concern regarding the observance of the Rome Statute by the Council. The study highlights the conflict between justice and politics and reveals the current issues in terms of international criminal justice

Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to investigate how politics was done at the level of the parliamentary constituencies at the time of the treaty of Amiens 1802-1803. This is achieved through two case studies of the elections in Middlesex and Nottingham, which are investigated as social practices. This thesis argues that understandings of masculinity and national identity, as well as questions about the nature of the constitution and citizen rights were central to participants in the extraparliamentary political process. Collective emotions were also highly important in the process of mobilising political support, and this thesis emphasises that participation in these elections was a collective effort; men and women from all levels of society were significant political actors. Moreover, this thesis demonstrates the importance of competences such as knowledge about the organisation of crowds and political violence in the performance of the election.

Lestrade, Éric. "Les principes directeurs du procès dans la jurisprudence du Conseil Constitutionnel." Thesis, Bordeaux 4, 2013. http://www.theses.fr/2013BOR40033/document.

Full text
Abstract:
In spite of a relatively low number of written dispositions dedicated to justice inside of the body of the Constitution of October 1958 4th, the constitutional Council, while updating this text through the Declaration of Human Rights, contributed to the development of a procedural constitutional law, which is structured around guiding principles. Those principles can be classified within three different categories : two major categories depend on the trial actor that is primarily concerned, either the judge or the parties; a third and additional category pertaining to procedural protections, fosters the essential qualities of the judge and secure the protection of the parties’ rights. A gradation of the requirements of the constitutional Council is discreetly perceptible between the first two categories of principles, and more easily identifiable between those first two categories and the last one. This decreasing scale of “density” yoked to the trial guiding principles highlights a genuine judicial policy when it comes to procedural constitutional law, emphasizing access to the judge, whom is given essential qualities in order to achieve its judicial duty. However, the action of the French constitutional judge, as satisfactory as it is towards the rights of the trial, would easily support the intervention of the constituent power in order to update Justice’s constitutional status

This study analyzes the motions of independent suspension systems, including Macpherson Struct type, and Double-Wishbone type, usually found in general-purpose passenger cars. The researcher first establishes the 2-D mathematical models of these two suspension systems, and calculates the camber angle and wheel center lateral displacement relative to vehicle height, wheel vertical displacement, vehicle roll, variation of linkage length and joint shift by using closure equation. Then the characteristics of different independent suspension systems are compared and the analysis results are contrasted through ADMS/CAR software. The comparisons show that there is a little difference between the results by closure equations and that by ADMS/CAR software. Therefore, before proceeding to software simulation, the researcher can analyze the motions of independent suspension systems qualitatively by using closure equations.

This study analyzes the motions of independent suspension mechanism, including Double-Wishbone type and Macpherson Strut type, usually found in general-purpose passenger cars. This study builds space suspension mechanisms through kinematic analysis of vehicle suspension mechanisms including quarter-car, half-car and full-car. Kinematic analysis of suspension derivative method can be used to find the body-wheel movement relationships and the instant axis. Then the characteristics of different independent suspension systems are compared with the simulation of ADAMS/Car software. Therefore, the design parameters of vehicle suspension can be modified according to results of analysis; in addition, this study can provide a platform for vehicle dynamic analysis.

This paper processes an independent rear suspension for the front power source, front-wheel drive for low-floor buses. The suspension type is decided by using the structural synthesis base on design conditions. When the suspension type is decided, the dimension of the each kinematic link is determined by using the analytical linkage synthesis, and the mathematical model is established by the constraint equation. During the bump and rebound, the toe angle, camber angle and track is calculated by Matlab. If the goal is not fulfilled, the dimension of the kinematic links is adjusted by sensitivity analysis. After the goal is achieved, the mathematical model is compared to the virtual model by simulation software ADAMS. This paper can be applied to develop the low-floor bus for increasing the space between arches.

Chapter Two provides a hands-on guide to the coding scheme. The authors measure delegation (the conditional grant of authority by member states to an independent body) and pooling (the joint exercise of authority by member states). They disaggregate by examining 1) the role and composition of institutional actors in an international organization (IO); 2) at distinct stages of decision making (agenda setting, final decision, opt-out, ratification, dispute settlement); 3) across six decision areas (accession, membership suspension, constitutional reform, budgetary allocation, financial compliance, policy making). The authors define the content and specify intervals for each indicator, and discuss how they avoid formalism, triangulate estimates, avoid contagion, and adjudicate ambiguity.

Abstract:
During the American Revolution, the treatment of the American “rebels” fighting for independence posed a series of difficult questions about the reach and framework of British law. The centerpiece of the legal calculus governing the detention of prisoners during the war—both in Great Britain and in the United States—remained the English Habeas Corpus Act of 1679. The war also confirmed the Act’s limitations on two scores. First, well before Americans declared independence, the British government had denied the Act’s application in the colonies, thereby taking the position that its geographic sweep did not follow British rule wherever it went. Second, during the war, Parliament suspended the Act’s application to Americans held on English soil. With independence, however, Parliament permitted the suspension to lapse and treated the American rebels as prisoners of war whose rights would be governed by the law of nations.

Strikes are always in breach of the contract of employment (unless, as rarely happens, the contract provides for its suspension during industrial action). Therefore, protection given to unions and members in relation to strikes and other forms of industrial action is really important: without it, striking—a fundamental human right—would be illegal in all circumstances.

Abstract:
Jawaharlal Nehru and Mohandas Gandhi shared the view that India’s nationalism made secularism unnecessary, for secularism is a notion whose conceptual genealogy is in a specific historical context, an idea designed to repair the damaging effects of European nation-state formation. An alternative Indian nationalism was to consist in a reconstruction of what they took to be India’s unselfconsciously pluralist traditions; the genuine and lived pluralism of ordinary Indian social life was to be replayed in the political arena of anti-imperialism. Secularism, both in Europe and post-Independence India, consists not in neutrality among religions but in a lexicographical ordering between the commitments to freedom of religion and to fundamental constitutional rights. The exception granted by the Indian state to Muslim personal law ought not to be seen as a denial of secularism but as a suspension of the secular ideal in the context of the history of a collective human subject.

Abstract:
The use of redundant actuation in the design and control of active automotive suspension systems is described. Redundantly actuated systems consist of more active force / torque inputs than degrees-of-freedom and allow for active control of the effective stiffness of the system to the environment without a change in the equilibrium position. A frontal plane half-car, double A-arm, independent suspension model is investigated. Results show that five actuators, with one connecting the two suspensions, is required for full stiffness and motion control. Due to the dependence of this approach on correct stiffness modeling a previously developed stiffness model is reviewed. The validity of this model is illustrated through some simple yet sufficient examples.
