Abstract:
Children’s independent mobility (CIM) on school days (weekdays) and on the weekend are examined in this study. Previous studies have focused primarily on weekday trips, with a vast majority only examining trips to school. However, the types of trips and the available time differ between weekdays and weekends. Weekday trips are more regular and possibly more local, whereas on the weekend the children may have more free time (i.e., no school) to engage in activities. Parents (as a group) are also less likely to have work obligations, and thus potentially more time, on the weekend. Theoretically,

AbstractIn the autumn 2017, The Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia (SURS) has conducted for the first time a survey on daily passenger mobility of Slovenian residents. The key statistics are on persons’ daily traveling habits, such as number of trips, travelled distance, time spent on traveling, and so on. Two independent samples were selected for the simultaneous collection of data by two modes, face-to-face interview (CAPI) and online questionnaire (WEB). The goal of this study is to identify the possible sources of mode measurement errors, with the objective to better design and

Patent rights are recognized as a property asset with an attendant right to exclude. However, recent policy developments highlight that the right to exclude is not inviolable. This paper explores two rapidly evolving exceptions to patent exclusivity, both of which take the form of compulsory licenses. First, under the international Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (“TRIPS”), national governments can compel patent owners to out-license technology in service of greater good. These egalitarian compulsory licenses improve access to technology but undermine patent

For the professional development of a scholar of antiquity, the importance of foreign business trips was essential for a number of reasons. Firstly, during an overseas trip, future researchers received the opportunity to touch the materials of the epoch they were interested in while visiting museums, participating in archaeological excavations, and studying monuments. Children’s independent mobility measured from trips to and from school without accompanied by adults. Deductive-quantitative research approaches are used to describe CIM changes and influencing factors. A total of 628 students before and after implementation of school zoning system from 5 schools in the Yogyakarta City become respondents. A random coefficient probit model, which allows for individual heterogeneity, is shown to be slightly more successful with respect to prediction than an independent probit model, which is why the former is employed in calculation of time values. The sample is split into vacation and non-vacation periods, which can be seen as proxies for the length of the vacation. A considerable difference in time values is found in the two periods.
