Abstract:
Further evidence on the similarities between transition and separation phenomena occurring in turbomachinery and wind tunnel flows is provided by measurements on a large scale flat plate under a strong adverse pressure gradient. The flat plate has a long laminar separation bubble and is subjected to a range of disturbances with triggering caused by injection of a transverse jet and subsequently by wakes generated by rods moving transversely upstream of the leading edge. Wakes were originally presented individually. Each individual wake provoked a vigorous turbulent patch, resulting in the inst

Abstract:
This paper describes transverse residual stress and strain measurements aimed at quantifying end effects in single and multi-pass weld-runs. Two test specimens are examined: a 60 mm long weld bead deposited on the surface of a 180 mm × 120 mm × 17 mm thick stainless steel plate, and a 62° arc-length multi-pass repair weld in a 432 mm outer diameter, 19.6 mm thick stainless steel pipe girth weld. The residual stress measurements were made by employing the relatively new Contour method and by neutron diffraction using ENGIN-X, the engineering spectrometer at the ISIS facility of the Rutherford A

Abstract:
Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) developed the Elk and Vegetation Management Plan (EVMP) to address well-documented declines in the ecological condition of aspen stands and riparian communities from high levels of elk herbivory. The EVMP aims to reduce the impacts of elk on vegetation and restore the natural range of variability in the elk population and affected plant communities, including preventing the loss of aspen clones within high elk-use areas, restoring montane riparian willow cover and height within suitable habitat, and reducing of levels of elk grazing on herbaceous vegetation.

As cities densify to meet environmental and economic goals, the equitable distribution of urban green spaces (UGS) becomes critical for fostering community well-being, promoting environmental justice, and enhancing climate resilience. This report presents a synthesis study conducted by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in collaboration with Nilsson Landscape, aimed at understanding the relationship between socio-economy and accessibility to UGS, to assess and enhance green equity in urban environments. The research focuses on Malmö specifically, and have involved Region Skå

Banco de la República is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2023. This is a very significant anniversary and one that provides an opportunity to highlight the contribution the Bank has made to the country’s development. Its track record as guarantor of monetary stability has established it as the one independent state institution that generates the greatest confidence among Colombians due to its transparency, management capabilities, and effective compliance with the central banking and cultural responsibilities entrusted to it by the Constitution and the Law.
