Abstract:
Flash fiction or what is better known in Indonesia as "mini fiction" or also "mini prose" is not a form of work that arises as a result of dealing with limited space today but also has something to do with the level of literacy at a certain time. It is not surprising that the publication of early prose in Indonesia, which at that time was still under colonial rule, namely in the mid-19th century, was essentially similar to the “fiksi mini” that has been developing in Indonesia in recent years. Thus, this paper is an attempt to straighten out and trace the dynamics of the flash fictions which have been published in Indonesia since more than a century ago. Because of this tracking will, reading of the flash fictions that have been published is a must. From the data obtained, several “fiksi mini” were used which were clearly able to confirm the existence of flash fictions which could be said to have been ahead of its time. Facts like this are results that are worth caring about considering that the present atmosphere has existed in the past. This kind of literary reality reaffirms the understanding that literary works in particular, whatever their form, have the power to enter the future unconsciously or not on purpose. In form, what happens is the tacit proclamation of a genre, for example, while in content it is usually concerned with some sort of natural forecast or prediction.

Abstract:
The author explores the potential of fictional media in counter-terrorism efforts, especially as an antidote to the spread of pro-terrorism narratives. Fiction media has the potential to bridge differences by spreading universal values that can transcend language, geography, and cultural boundaries. Multicultural culture helps teach tolerance and respect for one another. The method used is a literature study of previous research results. The selected studies used fiction and memoirs from Indonesia, as well as popular fiction from abroad, namely Avatar: The Legend of Aang and Fullmetal Alchemist. The conclusion of this research is that providing a sense of group or brotherhood arising from the similarity of favorite fictional media can transfer values that counteract the spread of terrorism. Lastly, there are suggestions for parents, teachers, and other stakeholders on how to select entertainment media that has counter-terrorism values to become learning media for children and adolescents based on the interests of the target audience, reviews from other adults, and ratings determined by government regulations.

Abstract:
Kata Kunci: bajak laut, historical fiction, komik, Nusantara AbstractThe use of historical fiction in popular media such as comics, films, games, and others with an entertainment approach has attracted a lot of public interest in various historical phenomena. The presentation with entertainment approach is one of the potential of historical fiction genre and can be used in conveying Indonesian history. One of the most important phenomena in Indonesia's maritime history that is not commonly known is the story of 'piracy'. Piracy that flourished in Indonesia during the colonial period was an important part of maritime history because it was not entirely a criminal phenomenon, but was also a form of the battle against the colonialists. Bringing up the theme of 'piracy' through the historical fiction genre can be an effort to convey maritime historical events through an entertainment approach and can also open new perspectives for the public in seeing the phenomenon of 'piracy' itself. Comics were chosen by considering the potential of comics media and the high enthusiasm of comic readers in Indonesia, by using the Matt Cooke’s design thinking and making method from the definition, divergent and transformation it is hoped that the comics can become a medium that can reach an audience easily and widely. Abstract:
This paper is based on the phenomenon of dancer or “tayub” which is celebrated as a very popular cultural artifact in public life, particularly in Java. This tradition is originally part of a sacred ritual, which ultimately became a performing art, but tends to be viewed negatively. In a historical context, the dancer was originally seen based on cultural concept and evolves into culturally sacred profane. Negative reception of ronggeng is not only uttered orally but also embodied in the written tradition. It is found in the genre of literary fiction such as in Trilogy Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk written Ahmad Tohari (2003), Ronggeng works Dewi Lingga Sari (2007), and Karti Kledek Ngrajek by S.W. Warsito (2009) . The results of this study illustrate that the figure of dancer who is represented in Indonesian fiction are various. Although there are similarities, but the authors tend to have different reception levels regarding “ronggeng”. “Ronggeng” as cultural artifacts is the manifestation of the ability of local communities to respond and adapt to the environment actively. Similarly, what is represented in fiction about “ronggeng” is a mirror of the society where the work was born.

The article offers a detailed analysis and comparison of four works of popular Indonesian literature (two texts dd 1955 and two dd 1967) in order to trace the vectors of development of the detective genre in the Indonesian literature. The analysis precedes an excursion into the history of criminal genres in the literature of Indonesia. The study shows that, using the selected texts as an example, there is a certain difference between the detective-type literature before the political changes and the transition to the New Order (1965), and afterwards, also allows us to take another step towards the study of the detective genre in Indonesian literature.

In depicting women’s world, an Indonesian writer tends to focus on their domestic than public life. This is because domestic life is considered safer for women, and women are considered best settled in the domestic life. There are six images closely associated with women; a mother, a loyal woman, a successful woman, a second woman, an ideal woman, and a bad woman. Mother image is the most found, 14 of 15 fictions examined in this research. Each genre gives a different impression and its own fans for the reader. It is common practice when people choose fiction books based on the title, author, or publisher of the book. However, this does not provide precise search results. In this final project, an application system was developed to find out fiction books based on the semantic impressions contained on the cover of the fiction book. The impression on each book cover is obtained through a survey of fiction book lovers in Indonesia. To get the results of the proximity between the user search and the impression survey data obtained through text mining, as well as the cosine similarity algorithm to calculate the most precise proximity value to the impression expected by the user. The results of this system display fiction books that have the most precise proximity value to the impression expected by the user.

Abstract:
Abstract Writer Faisal Oddang narrated the existence of the bissu community seemingly reconstructed from an understanding of the historical text to become more colorful. This article questions how the transformation model of bissu community figures is revealed in Oddang’s fictional work. This study utilizes Julia Kristeva’s intertext abstracted through ideologeme as a text arrangement that refers to the space of exterior texts (semiotic practice). The results of the study show: first, how the transformation model of the bissu community character appears in the work of fiction; second, the libido of bissu community in their sacred place; third, the bissu community character from marginalized positions fighting injustice against Darul Islam/Indonesia Islamic Army rebels both physically and verbally; fourth, the negotiation of bissu community leaders saving the faith by syncretism with Islam over the religious purification incident. Therefore, in fiction, the character of the bissu community shows both opposition and resistance.

Abstract:
The figure of Pramodawardhani is a key figure in the history of Indonesia on the eighth century in Java. With these considerations, efforts to revive the character of Pramodawardhani are to contribute to the enrichment of Indonesian visual reference. At least, relics of artifacts at the time made the history of classical Indonesia experience confusion on trace of the story and visualization of its history. Visual reconstruction effort with fictional approach is way out to realize the data fragments both verbal and visual in visual understanding of the past with contemporary social norms perspective. Attributes that carried Pramodawardhani as being aristocratic Javanese classical land become static character without the frenzied of his supernatural power wrapping as a superhero. The fiction building which legally understands the metaphoric fact into an understanding of the modern imagination is the arena of visual reconstruction in some cases ever. Partial understanding of the history of Indonesia’s visual reference product presented by social media has been widely biased in visual building physically. The main cause boils down to the lack of fundamental studies in visual reconstruction pattern which is too premature to conduct the studies.

Abstract:
The last few years have seen a boom in the publication of teen fiction in Indonesia. Particularly since the publication of the highly successful novel Eiffel ... I’m in love (Arunita 2001), numerous fiction works targeted at a youthful readership have appeared. This genre of popular literature has been so successful in attracting its audience that it currently constitutes the largest growing market in the Indonesian publishing industry (Simamora 2005). One of its striking characteristics is the predominant use of colloquial Indonesian, an informal variety of Indonesian that is closely identified with speakers from the capital Jakarta, particularly young people. Over a decade ago, scholars noted the increasing use of colloquial Indonesian in popular literature (see for example Adelaar and Prentice 1996:678). The implication is that this language variety has spread into domains previously dominated by standard Indonesian, the formal variety used in government administration, formal education, and most printed mass media. Indeed, contemporary Indonesian written literature is largely associated with standard Indonesian, such that the increasing use of colloquial Indonesian in popular literature has invited much criticism from language gatekeepers. Despite such criticism, however, teen fiction continues to flourish. The increasing use of colloquial Indonesian in teen fiction, though noted by scholars, has not been subject to any detailed linguistic study. Linguistic studies of colloquial Indonesian – at least those published in English – have focused so far on its use in speech, or in written texts intended to resemble speech, such as internet chatting and advice columns for young people. Prior to the recent surge in teen fiction, use of colloquial Indonesian in contemporary written literature was largely limited to dialogues. Writers such as Putu Wijaya, for example, are known to incorporate colloquialism to render dialogues more natural (Rafferty 1990:107). Teen fiction writers have extended the use of colloquialism into other parts of fiction such as the description of characters, settings, and inner thoughts. This development makes it interesting to look for a way to describe the increase of colloquialism. A useful approach is to examine the usage patterns of a term or a selection of terms in a number of teen fiction works published over time, with the purpose of observing changes in the patterns, and whether such changes can be shown to represent greater colloquialism. This study is a preliminary attempt in that direction. My purpose here is to demonstrate that in the last two decades during which colloquial Indonesian has been employed in teen fiction, there has been a shift in writing style from one that bears greater resemblance to standard Indonesian towards a style that is more colloquial. The term ‘style’ is commonly employed in sociolinguistics to refer to ways of speaking, which Bell (2001:139) defines in terms of the question ‘Why did the speaker say it this way on this occasion?’ (italics in original). Adapting this definition for teen fiction writing, I use ‘writing style’ here to refer to the characteristic manner in which an author writes fiction. This style is observed here by examining the use of the preposition pada ‘to, towards, on, in, at’ as compared to the use of three other prepositions, namely kepada ‘to, towards’, ke ‘to, towards’, and sama ‘to, towards, by, with’. The development towards increased colloquialism is shown through two indicators: a reduction in the range of prepositional meanings of pada along with the assignment of particular discourse functions to kepada, and an increased use of ke and sama. The data are drawn from ten works of fiction published between 1998 and 2005. Eight of these are written by the same author, Hilman. In four of them, Hilman collaborates with fellow writer Boim Lebon. The other two works are by Laire Siwi Mentari and Marthino Andries. This selection is motivated by the following considerations. Hilman’s works have been highly and consistently popular since his first publication appeared in 1986. They span two decades and therefore provide an appropriate time span for examining shifts in writing style. Abstract:
The fall of Soeharto’s authority in 1998 has indeed impacted numerous sides of Indonesian life: political, social and cultural. The shifting of authoritative government to the state of “reformation” and “democratization” has forced the nation to redefine its authority to its members. This paper aims to look at these public responses which are narrated in contemporary Indonesian fiction. Although fiction may be seen as imaginative production, discursive ideologies can be examined clearly. By examining thematic significant of the narratives about G30S/PKI and the killings aftermath in the literary writings published in post 1998 by contemporary Indonesia writers, who are known as the Generation 2000 writers (who were mostly born in 1970s at least five years after the 1965 incident: also known as the millennials), this paper will attempt to answer whether or not this generation presents shift and creates its own notions of the incident. Kata-Kata Kunci: ideologi; diskursus; tragedi tahun 1965; milenial

Abstract:
Since the 1990s Islam in Indonesia has shifted in orientation and gradually shed its depoliticized position. After the fall of the New Order in 1998 many female authors came to the fore and voiced their opinions about societal expectations, gender roles and norms that regulate female sexuality. Muslim women have addressed in their fiction issues regarding Islam, modernity and how to balance Islamic teachings with globalized forces that have changed Indonesian ways of living. This article analyzes three novels by Muslim author Abidah El Khalieqy in which the protagonists search for ways to shape new female identities and forms of selfhood that are in accordance with Islam and also suit the modernized world. The novels speak openly and in great detail about sexual relations. They critique polygyny and patriarchal attitudes that treat women as sexual objects and inferior beings, and disrupt taboos such as domestic violence and (marital) rape while endorsing women’s activism to advocate gender equity and social justice. They also demonstrate how women find pleasure in sexual intimacy. Abidah's fiction does not shy away from topics such as homosexuality and pre-marital sex but eventually hetero-normativity prevails. In significant ways Abidah's fiction contributes to debates on women's rights and gender expectations within Indonesia's Muslim community.

Abstract:
This article seeks to examine Indonesian cultural policy in comparison to Singapore and Malaysia. It focuses particularly on documentary films as a field covered by the cultural policy, which is closely associated with the creative industry. Therefore, this article analyzes various official documents regarding cultural policy and the position documentary films within that policy. While Singapore’s cultural policy is quite comprehensive and visionary in managing and regulating arts and culture, it tends to neglect documentary films as it celebrates commercial feature (fiction) films. Similarly, Malaysian cultural policy pays scant attention to documentary films despite its nationalistic nature. Learning from those two neighboring countries, Indonesia should not only have a comprehensive cultural policy, but also a clear vision on the development of infrastructures while taking into account the fast changing ecology of documentary films in Indonesia.

AbstractIn Indonesia, we still find an enactment of law fiction theory in the system of legislation formation. Where everyone is regarded to know the law when it is legislated in the official gazette and one`s ignorance on the law or provisions of legislation do not make one free of prosecution (igronantia iuris neminem excusat). It is against the justice values in the society. It is needed effort to erase its enactment, that is the main problem in this research. It uses normative law method. Collecting data by literature and legislation search. The result of this research shows that Indonesia still enact law fiction theory in legislation system. The aim of this research is to enhance the activity and skills of pre-writers of fiction prose using a project-based learning model in the Indonesian Literature program at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, Universitas Jambi. The research method employed is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle involves planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data are analyzed according to the assessment rubric. In Cycle I, there was an improvement in activity levels, with 87% of students achieving a good category and 13% achieving a very good category. The improvement in pre-writing scores was 60%, reaching a sufficient category for 40% and a good category for 40%. However, the analysis indicated that the target of exceeding 50% of pre-writing scores in the good category was not achieved in Cycle I, prompting the continuation to Cycle II. In Cycle II, both activity and pre-writing scores experienced significant improvement. Activity scores showed 33.3% of students in the good category and 86.7% in the very good category. Pre-writing scores increased to 33.3% in the good category and 66.7% in the very good category. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model in the Fiction Prose Writing course effectively enhances the activity and skills of pre-writers of fiction prose and is deemed suitable for application

The Sharia economy grows in line with the demands of the Muslim community, which wants an economy that competes with the capitalist economy. Of course this struggle is not as easy as turning your palms. Political, sociological, huokum struggles also colored the emergence of regulations that banks Shariah in Indonesia. With the system of non-Islamic states, it must be difficult for the sharia banking to conduct transactions in accordance with the law of fiction that is written in the Islamic books. The product of the sharial banking that is "forced" to resemble the conventional banking product must have an influence on the concept of the theory of akad in the classical fiction. This DSN-MUI fatwa will become a positive law when adopted in regulations approved by law, as adopted as a judge's opinion in its decision, or adopted by the Bank of Indonesia Regulations, OJK Regulations and others. Abstract:
Empirically successful stories of both authoritarianism and democracy in materializing economic achievement as well as securing political stability may make some people confused in evaluating the two systems, whether they are suitable for humanism or not. There have been contested views on their virtues related to the preservation of human security as one of the most critical aspects of humanism. This study investigates which one of the two existing political regimes is more suitable for the sustainability of secured human security. Relying on the case of Indonesia, which experienced in adopting the two different political regimes, I argue that in the long run democracy is better and conducive for securing sustainable human security than authoritarianism. Abstract:
Analysis and interpretation of the short stories by Indonesian female writer Intan Paramaditha (Intan Paramaditha, born in 1979) make it possible to understand that her writing occupies a special niche in the modern Indonesian literary paradigm. Paramaditha’s feminist texts are disguised as horror stories with settings in contemporary Indonesia. The article examines five short stories (“Spinner of Darkness” (Pemintal Kegelapan), “Vampire” (Vampir), “Polaroid’s Mystery” (Misteri Polaroid), “The Blind Woman without a Toe” (Perempuan Buta tanpa Ibu Jari), and “The Obsessive Twist” (Goyang Penasaran)). Using the intertextual method, it was possible to prove the gothic poetics of these literary works. The short stories contain the mosaic of folklore-mythological motives from the Malay Archipelago, Biblical and Quranic narratives, as well as European fairy tales and allusions to American horror fiction and horror films. Her prose is built upon some borrowed European literary forms for expression of authentic Indonesian content. The social themes are intertwined with feminist criticism that is presented as a Kitsch of the Indonesian mass culture. In “The Obsessive Twist” the main conflict is focused on the heated debates on sexuality, politics, violence, and religion. The feminist agenda of her prose is contrasted with the turn of contemporary Indonesia towards a Muslim patriarchal society. Paramaditha’s works represent a unique product of West-East-synthesis aimed not only at the Indonesian, but also the global audience.

The purpose of this preliminary study research is to identify the results of learning Indonesian fiction story material for grade VI UPTD students of SDN Banyuajuh 2. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The instruments used include observation sheets, interview sheets, and test sheets. The analytical techniques used in this study are descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative. The time for data collection starts on February 25, 2023 until it is completed. The subjects in this preliminary study is a class VI teacher and 29 grade VI students at UPTD SDN Banyuajuh 2. The observation results show that the resitation or assignment method is often used by teachers in learning Indonesian, while students do not fully understand the concept of the subject matter, for example fictional story material. This is one of the causes of low student learning outcomes. From the test results, it shows that there are 2 students who get a score above KKM out of a total of 29 students in the class. The KKM that has been determined by the school is 65, but the data results show that there are 27 students who score below KKM. The conclusion of this preliminary study is that there are several factors that cause low student learning outcomes including the method of resitation or assignment too often applied in learning and lack of giving examples of fictional stories to students.

Abstract:
This research discusses discourse of nationalism in Garin Nugroho’s Soegija, a biopic which premiered in 2012. The film is chosen because it presents the story of Soegijapranata, an intellectual who is not from dominant nationalist groups, during the era of independence movement; he is neither a prominent military figure nor a figure from the largest religious group in Indonesia. This film is analyzed to investigate its position in ideological contestations emerging after the Reformation, particularly after the 2000s. Seymour Chatman’s postulates regarding story and discourse in narrative structure of fiction and film (1978) is used as a theoretical framework for this research. The results show that discourse of nationalism is presented in the narrative structure of the film in the form of arguing the idea of universal humanity in the context of Indonesia as a nation. This effort is portrayed by the main character’s intellectual struggles against shallow primordialism that influences both Indonesian people’s perspectives during independence movement era and foreign people’s point of views, the colonizers, which are represented by subversive actions of the Dutch and Japanese in Indonesia. The values of universal humanity that have been adopted into the spirit of nationalism are stated through the main characters’ statements and actions. It can be concluded that the concept of nationalism in Indonesia is said to be born from a long struggle against oppression and injustice. This concept has become a dominant ideology which remains relevant, as implied in Soegija.

Abstract:
This article discusses the hierarchy of regulation formation. The problem being discussed in this article is related to the regulations that are formed contrary to the rules above and therefore, they are canceled or revised. Although explicitly in the formation of regulations, it is mandatory to follow the regulation hierarchy. Hence, it causes financial problems because the regulations cannot be implemented. It is juridical normative based research. The result of this research suggests that it is necessary to reformulate the regulations hierarchy on the formation of state regulations. It also suggests that the hierarchy of the regulations formation has positive and negative values. It is positive because it can maintain orderliness in the formation of regulations, while negative values will occur in the formation of the regulations. Therefore, to strengthen the hierarchy of the formulation of laws and regulations, it is necessary to have specifically certified legal drafter to form the regulations. As in the principle of legal fiction, that person is considered to know the rule can be realized properly.

One Year of Institute for the Study of Criminal Law (LSHP): Community Capacity Building Through Participation-Based Publication Media One Year Institute for the Study of Criminal Law (LSHP): Community Capacity Building Through Participation-Based Publication Media. The theory of legal fiction is contradictory to the reading literacy level of the community. The theory requires that everyone should know the laws and regulations that have been promulgated, but the results of the study show that the literacy activity of the Indonesian people is still low. Lembaga Studi Hukum Pidana (LSHP), which is part of the community, is motivated to provide solutions according to their competencies and capabilities. The choice is to build a participation-based publication that contains information that is not limited to just the basics of criminal law. LSHP builds website-based publication media using the Open Journal System (OJS) application developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). Website-based publication media are also used as storage space as well as product publications from monitoring, research, and community empowerment activities that can be accessed through http://repositori.lshp.or.id/, which is divided into 3 (three) rooms: (1) Lembaga Studi Hukum Pidana; (2) Jurnal Studi Hukum Pidana; and (3) Opini Hukum dan HAM. All have been indexed on well-known indexing engines and can be read and/or downloaded for free. LSHP actively and voluntarily engage the community in the development of existing laws and regulations in Indonesia. The development of publication media by LSHP has clearly opened up space for public participation, in line with efforts to erode the negative impact of the implementation of legal fiction theory in Indonesia, as well as providing space for public participation to provide an assessment of the enforcement and dissemination of a statutory regulation in Indonesia.
