Abstract:
The recent wave of crises caused by various factors, which began in 2020, affects all aspects of society, including economic activities. Many industries, including the fashion industry, are experiencing a number of unfavorable developments, chief among them being the reduction in demand for particular goods, damaged reputation etc. Business operations in the conditions of an economic crisis have forced many fashion industry companies to seek adequate mechanisms to face the consequences of this type of crisis. One potential solution to lessen the negative consequences of these occurrences is to implement crisis management in a firm in a systematic way. Crisis communication helps in crisis management, according to a review of businesses' experiences dealing with such an undesirable occurrence or a sequence of events. The subject of this paper is the role of crisis communication in crisis management, particularly from the perspective of companies that dominate the fashion industry. The first part of the paper addresses the various types of crises that all manufacturing companies must consider. The crisis management process, which includes an analysis of potential communication strategies, will be the central focus of the discussion. The final part of the paper examines the operation of companies under high-risk conditions.

Abstract:
This article seeks to explain the nature and main cause of financial crises. It starts by defining what a financial crisis is and then explains the roam types that have occurred over the centuries namely, currency crisis, banking crisis, and market crashes. The history of the financial industry is then explained to show that financial crisis is a recent phenomenon in relation to mankind which has been in existence for over two million years. What is highlighted is the fact that prior to the existence of financial industry, humanity has never experienced any financial crisis. They only began to occur when financial industry became established in the sixteenth century. The article then relates in detail some of the most famous financial crises that have occurred since then. They include the Tulip Mania case, the South Sea Corporation panic and the Great Depression. This article concludes by arguing that financial crises at their core, are outcomes of over-lending and over-borrowing, which are, thus, integral to the financial industry itself, and that the problems of financial crises are not going to go away as long as the financial industry remains legally as part of our life.

Abstract:
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to examine the role of prior-CSR reputation in protecting a company’s CSR reputation during product-harm crises and how it influences consumers’ crisis-related behavioral intentions (i.e. supportive communication, resistance to negative information and crisis resiliency). The authors test whether the impact of prior-CSR reputation differs by crisis type as well.Design/methodology/approachA randomized 2 (CSR reputation: good vs bad) × 2 (product-harm crisis type: tampering vs preventable) full factorial design in two industry settings (food industry and retail industry) with consumer samples was conducted.FindingsThe results revealed the determinant role of positive prior-CSR reputation in protecting reputational assets. A company with positive CSR reputation experiences no decrease in its CSR reputation during victim crises and fairly minor decreases during preventable crises. However, a company with a bad prior-CSR reputation experiences a greater decline in its CSR reputation across both crises; the level of decline during victim crises was as substantial as the decline experienced during a preventable crisis. The prior-CSR reputation directly affects consumers’ crisis-related intentions, and indirectly does so through post-CSR reputation. As post-CSR reputation becomes more positive, consumers display greater resistance to negative information, supportive communication intent and crisis resiliency.Originality/valueThis study advances the understanding of the role of corporate reputation during crises and provides additional empirical evidence of how the buffering effect of CSR can extend beyond product-related intentions among consumers. The findings can induce companies to adopt CSR programs more systematically and proactively under a long-term strategic plan.

Abstract:
Abstract The analysis of crisis management shows that any crisis will generate risks and opportunities for certain industrial sectors. The current security crisis overlaps today with other crises (climatic, economic, energy, and medical crises generated by COVID-19). The medical crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic has recorded considerable profits for the pharmaceutical industry and companies in the medical equipment manufacturing industry. (John A. Parnel). The defense market and armaments production industry has been steadily growing at national and international levels due to the imbalance in international security caused by Russia's military conflict. An economical inside perspective is provided due to an internal study case based on the evolution of this industry's key sector. As per the analyzed data, the market demand is currently higher than the production capacity, both at European and national levels. The industry cannot meet the requirements of the defense market. Nonetheless, the turnover of the profile companies experienced significant increases with positive effects on the recorded profit rates. After conducting a thorough evaluation of the domestic defense industry, the solution might be to privatize state-owned companies in the security industry, which may involve merging companies with similar activity profiles. Also, financial incentives, such as tax measures like those granted to personnel working in the IT industry, can help overcome the human resources issue that the Romanian defense industry is currently facing.

Abstract:
Banking and financial collapse of late 2008 extremely heavily hit the automotive industry in most countries. In 2009, the production of cars in the world dropped to 57 million units compared to 68 million in 2007. At the same time, recent statistics show that the industry is rapidly recovering from the worst crisis in its history. In the 1st quarter of 2010 car production in the world increased by 57% compared to the same period of 2009. In China, Canada, Mexico and Great Britain it increased by more than 70%. Volkswagen, Ford Motor Company and FIAT announced major investment plans, particularly in China and Latin America. Accordingly, it is expected that in 2010 the global car production will grow to 70 million units, and to 88 million by 2016, 40% of all sales will be in the Asia-Pacific region. Reduction of the automotive industry in Russia turned out to be deeper than anywhere else – 49% in 2009 against the previous year's level. For comparison: in the United States reduction amounted to 21%, in Spain – to18, in Japan – to10, in the UK – to 6.4, in Italy – to 0.2; while in China the production grew by 44%. Nevertheless, the Russian automotive industry is also showing signs of recovery, primarily because of the governmental program of recycling old cars.

Abstract:
Recently, there has been a very rapid accumulation of empirical data of economic indicators of the food crisis associated with the coronavirus pandemic. The purpose of this article was to develop a set of measures aimed at minimizing the negative economic impact of the coronavirus crisis (CVC) both at the national and international levels. All these presupposed solving the following tasks. Having studied the nature of the crisis, we found out that it had the greatest impact on such components of food sector as transport, logistic chains, and human resources. We revealed that, first of all, such areas of the economy as fisheries and agricultural production of fruits and vegetables were affected by the crisis. It is obvious that it will also adversely affect small farmers, seasonal and migrant workers, etc. The work proposes the most effective public measures against the negative impact of CVC on the global economy. In particular, we examined the scenario of (possibly temporary) nationalization of operators of critical infrastructure to produce planned critical goods or services. The developed set of measures included limitation of the workers’ rights and freedoms by imposing to them labor duties, or replacing them with military ones, limiting the price of strategic goods, and organizing their consumption and distribution. Possible triggers for the implementation of such a scenario in the agricultural sector are offered, as well as mechanisms of protecting and supporting groups of economic agents affected by CVC are proposed.

Abstract:
Justified purpose of the topic: Research on crisis management in the meetings industry only focused on the process of crisis preparedness and the perception of meeting planners towards crises, with little research carried out on the strategies adopted to manage crisis within the meetings industry. Objective: This paper explores crisis management perceptions and practices by meetings professionals from two perspectives: origins of crisis and crisis management strategies. Methodology: The study adopted an exploratory perspective through interviewing 11 Turkish meeting planners who were asked to revisit past crisis experiences through the critical incident technique. Results: Meetings were shown to be highly prone to smaller scale, operational crisis in particular. Therefore, to meeting planners crises are more about service failures than major disruptive events that question the organisation’s existence as per the traditional definition of crisis. Crises are classified using a matrix that considers the source of the crisis (internal/external) and the degree of control (controllable/non-controllable). Meeting planners tend to attribute crises events to others than themselves and perceive them as mostly uncontrollable, related third party suppliers (including venues/hotels) and clients. Crisis management strategies employed in each of the four phases of crisis (prevention/preparation, coping, recovery and learning) were carried out at an individual level, with little formalisation at the organisational level evident. Negative perceptions about the need for formalisation were reflected in the rejection of developing crisis management plans. Originality: This paper contributes to the literature by demonstrating that crisis management frameworks can be employed to examine crises that are essentially service failures. As a consequence, the distinction between the notions of service failure and crisis may be artificial rather than real. Therefore, researchers planning studies on crises-service failure should consider looking at both literatures in order to integrate both bodies of knowledge.

Abstract:
Introduction. The cyclical nature of the development of the market economy causes the periodic occurrence of crisis phenomena that negatively affect the socio-economic situation in the country and the development of economic sectors. The modern automotive industry, composed of global supply chains, is highly sensitive to the impact of economic crises. Based on the research conducted, the article assesses the impact of the global economic crises of the 21st century on the development of the automotive industry in Russia and identifies the problems and risks of the development of this sector of the economy. Materials and Methods. The study used official national statistics, statistical data from international organizations, data from analytical agencies, public reporting by automotive corporations, as well as regulations governing the development of the Russian automotive industry. The use of the techniques of monographic description, of the abstract and logical approach, system analysis, methods of economic and statistical, comparative analysis made it possible to characterize the dynamics and identify the main trends in the development of the Russian automotive industry under the impact of the global crises of 2008‒2009 and 2020, as well as to identify the key problems and risks of the development of the sector in terms of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which are to be taken into account when elaborating and adjusting strategic programs and plans for the development of the sector. Results. The impact of the global crises of 2008‒2009 and 2020 on the Russian automotive industry has been analyzed. The dynamics and structure of production and sales of motor vehicles in Russia have been studied; the cause-and-effect relationships of changes in the performance of the automotive industry under the impact of economic crises have been revealed; an assessment of the measures of state support for the industry in the crisis periods has been given. Discussion and Conclusion. The current global economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has posed new threats to the development of the automotive industry and has made topical the research issues related to the transformations taking place in the sector under the impact of the crisis. The identified imbalances and negative trends in the development of the automotive industry require improving state regulation of its development, as well as implementing effective measures not only to overcome the consequences of the current crisis, but also to counter possible crises in the future.

Abstract:
Purpose: Since tourism is highly susceptible to shocks, and effects of crises in the industry can lead to several direct and indirect repercussions, appropriate communication techniques and strategies are needed to proactively overcome or prevent crises. However, in Kenya, assessment of the same is glaringly insufficient, hence, the need for the current study. The study objective was guided by a research question; What are the during-crisis communication strategies used in crises preparedness in the tourism and hospitality industry in Naivasha Sub-county? Methodology: The study was conducted among hotels in Naivasha Sub-County of Nakuru County of Kenya using a mixed research methodology. Using a sample of 362 employees through multi-stage and purposive sampling techniques, questionnaires were used to collect data among employees while 28 key informant interviews were used among the hotel managers. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze quantitative data. Findings: The study concluded that during crisis communication strategies featured issuance of accurate and consistent messages, giving precautions, dissemination of information on how to cope physically as well as information on prioritizing self-protection. The communication strategies during the crisis influenced the preparedness in small and insignificant amounts (sig. = .968). The results showed that communicating on precautions during a crisis was a special way and strategy to contain the effect of the crisis. The study found that more than half of the hotel staff 175(59.5%) agreed that their organizations give accurate and consistent messages on crisis preparedness. Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The study recommends that the Cabinet secretary in the Ministry of Tourism develop policies that spell and guide crisis management plans that acknowledge effective crisis communication strategies in hotels in the country. For individual hotel operators and managers in Naivasha subcounty, provision of regular information on crisis, and having a crisis communication plan in the precrisis stage will educate and sensitize the employees of the possible risks and how to handle them. This study findings will inform academia and be a base for scholars in mass communication in carrying out further studies in communicative strategies used in crises preparedness. The study findings inform development and roll out of policies that guide crisis management plans in tourism and hotel industry.

Abstract:
Currently, a communication crisis continues to be seen as a frightening menace that may disrupt the seamless operation of many activities in social life, business, and organizations. Instances of communication crises have perennially occurred within enterprises and organizations. This phenomenon is not limited to external communication with audiences outside the corporation or organization but may also manifest inside and within the organization itself. Effective communication is crucial in successfully navigating through the crisis. The coordination of crisis management within an organization or corporation is handled mainly by the Corporate Communication CC and Public Relations/PR departments. Corporate communication and public relations officers must be able to analyze the causes and repercussions of crises, formulate plans to resolve them, and enhance the organization's image. These skills are essential in coordinating with other departments. The study aims to assess and investigate crisis management processes from a Corporate Communication and Public Relations viewpoint. It focuses on the digital era, where efficient crisis-handling protocols are necessary due to the need for high mobility and the use of technology. This study is grounded on a qualitative methodology that utilizes phenomenological approaches. The decision to use phenomenology was based on the informants' experiences prioritizing objectives, namely the functionaries in the two departments, to better understand the challenges encountered. The final results demonstrate that the crisis management process begins when a possible crisis is identified, including methods for preventative measures and preparedness in the event of a crisis.

This thesis examines two different types of market challenges, the financial crisis, and the pandemic crisis, and seeks similarities and draws conclusions by summarising and analyzing the coping strategies of industries under the 2008 financial crisis and comparing them with those of related industries under the current pandemic crisis. It is found that cost control and enhancement of corporate image are two commonly used strategies during the crisis, with the former helping to maintain competitiveness during the crisis and the latter facilitating the enhancement of brand value. In addition, new market development and the development of new business models are also effective strategies to cope with crisis. The study cases include Tesla, China Southern Airlines, and McDonald's, and by analyzing the coping strategies of these companies during the crisis, some strategies that can cope with both the financial crisis and the pandemic crisis have been derived. However, given the limitations of the number of cases, the coverage of the findings of this study could be improved. Future research could further explore coping strategies in public relations crises and political crises.

Abstract:
With the development of tourism, a tourism companies or destinations become as dependent as possible on a wide variety of political, social and economic events, and this actualizes a number of risks and increases vulnerability to a potential crisis. The set of crises that befell Ukraine throughout the 21st century, each time destabilized the progressive development of the tourism sector, pushed entrepreneurial initiatives back into the past. Mitigating the impact of crisis phenomena on the development of tourism cannot be imagined without a detailed statistical analysis of these impacts and the level of adaptability of tourism as a whole and its individual branches. The purpose of the article is to reveal the impact of several large-scale crises of the 21st century on Ukrainian tourism and study the degree of adaptability of its industries through a number of indicators, including the economic and financial results of the relevant business entities. The main hypothesis of the study was that different sectors of the economy, the enterprises of which are part of the tourism sector, are characterized by different degrees of adaptability to large-scale crises. When writing the article, the results of several state statistical observations and expert assessments were used. The article examines in detail the ways in which crises and upheavals have shaped and changed the tourism landscape of Ukraine in recent years. The study highlights the tangible, measurable consequences of major shocks – from a sharp decrease in the number of tourists and their behavior patterns to sharp changes in the economic results of the sectorʼs enterprises. The work aims to provide a detailed understanding of the sustainability and adaptability of the two main sectors of tourism - the hospitality and tour operating sectors. This analysis highlights the factors that have enabled certain tourism sectors to withstand the crises of recent years, while others may have struggled to adapt and recover. By carefully cataloging these trends and patterns, research provides information that can help design mitigation strategies

[Purpose] The cause of disease crisis in the capital market is Spreading of infectious disease. Therefore, the bio-pharmaceutical industry attracts the market investors attention during the disease crisis as rising health and medical demands. In this paper, we study the investors reaction to R&D investments of the bio-pharmaceutical industry during the disease crisis.
[Methodology] We classify SARS in 2003, Swine Flu(H1N1) in 2009 and MERS in 2015 as the disease crisis. Also, we employ valuation multiples implied by the Ohlson(1995) model as a proxy for the market investors reaction.
[Findings] We find that a pricing multiple on R&D expenditures of the bio-pharmaceutical industry is greater for the disease crisis excluding H1N1 than previous years. Moreover, We also find some suggestive evidence that there is the difference between COVID-19 and other disease crises of the market investors reaction of the R&D investments.
[Implications] Our findings contribute to the related literature by presenting first empirical evidence of value relevance on the R&D investment of the bio-pharmaceutical industry using the disease crisis.

Abstract:
The phenomenon of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) initiated by the United Nations (UN) has become a global concern today. This is because in recent years, we have faced three crucial environmental crises, namely the climate crisis, the biodiversity and nature crisis, and the pollution and waste crisis. Why are these crises happening? These crises occur because of production and consumption patterns that are managed unsustainably, such as the overexploitation of the earth’s resources. This has adverse impacts on the environment, climate change, damage to ecosystems, and increasing levels of pollution. To achieve environmental sustainability through improved consumption and production patterns, specialized strategies are needed that focus on raising awareness of material and energy use, recycling, waste management, nature conservation, and renewable energy. Sustainability issues in the environmental sector caused by unsustainable production and consumption patterns can also occur in the food and beverage industry. With the background mentioned above, this study aims to determine the factors that influence environmental sustainability in the dairy agro-industry in Indonesia. The analytical method used in this study is the MICMAC (Matrice d’impacts croisés-multiplication appliquée) method developed by the LIPSOR Prospective Strategic and Organizational Research Laboratory (foresight).

Abstract:
The maritime sector is strategic and extremely important for the national economy. Ukraine has favorable conditions for the development of the maritime industry and a strong potential for the use of seaports. The industry is characterized by a high level of investment attractiveness, significant capacity for handling and transportation of goods, good opportunities to ensure the transit of goods flows and the development of the infrastructure of the coastal areas. All these opportunities have been lost during the last period due to the action of numerous crisis factors, the predominant of which were the factors of the external environment. The study of the set of factors that form threats to the stable development of the maritime industry of Ukraine is carried out in this article. The search for tools capable of leveling the effects of crisis phenomena was conducted here. The key indicators of the current state of development of the maritime industry in Ukraine have been analyzed. The main trends of changes in these indicators have been identified. The main problematic aspects of the development of the domestic maritime industry and seaports in the context of modern realities are systematized. The content of crisis and anti-crisis management, existing methodical paradigms of study and use in practice of anti-crisis management are studied. Based on the systematization of scientific sources, the main categories of crises in the maritime industry were identified. The characteristic features of the main model of seaport management in world practice are analyzed. The study of the methodical toolkit of anti-crisis management made it possible to substantiate the set of appropriate anti-crisis management tools. By their specificity, they can be used in the practice of managing the maritime industry and seaports. Among the most promising tools the following were proposed: use of innovations; creation of an information and analytical system of business diagnostics and risk management in the management system of maritime companies; anti-crisis corporate communications; activation of international cooperation and strengthening of integration ties; creation and use of modern seaport management models; digitization. Keywords: maritime industry, seaports, management, crisis, tools, risks, threats.

Abstract:
Purpose Two questions guide this study: “Do two crisis history types (i.e. organization-specific vs industry-wide) have the same effect on publics’ perception of the organization in a crisis?” And “Is there any significant difference in public responses between the high and low levels of issue involvement?” The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach A two organization-specific crisis history (frequent vs infrequent) × two industry-wide crisis history (frequent vs infrequent) × two consumer issue involvement (high vs low) between-subjects experimental design was employed. Findings This experiment suggests that an industry-wide crisis history can mitigate negative damages of a crisis, while an organization-specific crisis history intensifies the damages. This indicates that crisis history types should be considered as an important factor when diagnosing appropriate crisis response strategies during crisis. This study also identifies a stronger negative impact of an organization-specific crisis history among highly issue-involved publics than less involved publics. Originality/value This study extends situational crisis communication theory by identifying the buffering impact of an industry-wide crisis history and adding crisis history type as an influencer in the process of the publics’ crisis responsibility attributions.

Abstract:
Construction is a complex activity performed in an almost uncontrolled environment. Although, in theory, projects can be well planned in advance, there is a possibility that unexpected events and crises will disrupt these plans, which will affect the progress of projects. Construction companies can be easily affected by crises because the initial investment costs are very high in construction projects, which may lead to huge financial damages. One of the most prominent crises that Iraq faced was the financial crisis in 2014, which had a significant impact on various activities and the construction industry. This research aims to explore the most important causes of the economic crises in Iraq in general, investigate the impact of this crisis on the construction industry in Iraq particularly, explore the most important factors that contributed to the aggravation of the crisis in this area. Finally, explore the most important strategies adopted by higher authorities and construction companies during the economic recession that followed the crisis to mitigate its impact. One hundred fifty-one closed questionnaires were distributed for this purpose. The results showed that financial and administrative corruption is one of the most important causes of crises with (RII) 0.93. Also, 82% of the respondents answered that the projects had increased their duration significantly so that it was difficult to set a date for their completion due to the insolvency or inability of the Iraqi state to pay the financial dues to the contractors. This insolvency negatively impacted the construction industry during the crisis with RII (0.832).

Abstract:
Covid-19 has changed tourism significantly. Numerous research shows how various factors will affect travel after COVID-19. No doubt that tourism has become a major global industry with an annual average growth rate of 4-5%. It also creates 8% of the global GDP and 10% of employment. Yet it is also very vulnerable to crises of different origin such as natural disasters, epidemics, economic crises, political crises, terror, etc. Because tourism product (e.g. hotel beds, airline seats, restaurant tables, guide services) is perishable, unlike physical goods, they cannot be stored for future use. Past crises with few exceptions (e.g. 2008 Financial Crisis, 2014 Financial Crisis, the terroristic attack of airplane in Cairo 31st of October, 2015) had regional impacts and their global impact on tourism volume was limited. Yet, taking into account the speed and impact, Covid-19 is the most serious crises tourism industry has ever faced. This crisis is estimated to have a seven time larger impact on tourism than the 2008 Financial Crises. The effects of Covid-19 are expected to extend for two years and result in a decrease of 39-50% in global tourism volume. Tourism industry is expected to recover to 2019 pre-crises levels not before 2023.

Abstract:
Based on the collective realisation that destinations and organisations are becoming increasingly vulnerable to external crises which can negatively impact on the tourism sectors of economies, this article evaluated the strategies that stakeholders utilised towards effective preparedness for external crisis related incidents. The study employed a qualitative case study approach, using interviews and available documents in exploring the crisis preparedness strategies employed by stakeholders in the city of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria towards addressing the impact of external crisis incidents and threats on their destinations’ tourism industry and subsectors. The study’s field research was based on semi structured interview sessions, covering core questions and probes on the stakeholders’ preparedness for external crises that can affect their tourism sectors, and if there are factors that can affect their efforts towards preparedness for identified crises. The results from the interviews and discussion of findings based on emergent themes from the studies identified a range of recommendations for the study’s destination stakeholders, who were mostly found to be deficient in appropriate crisis preparedness measures, owing to in adequate resources from government, and in some instances, lack of efficient crisis preparedness plan. Of these recommendations, one of the key suggestions was for stakeholders of the city of Jos, Nigeria and similar destination(s) and organisations to adopt or develop a formal crisis preparedness plan, and complete risk assessment on their destination, and other places that could be vulnerable to external crises, for effective crisis preparedness.

Abstract:
The 21st century is seen as a volatile business environment and requires a proper crisis management standard for most organizations including the MICE sector. Nowadays, managers seek to deal with a potential crisis effectively, with minimum losses or to avert the potential crisis in the best case. The goal is obvious: minimize the impact of the crisis or avoid a potential crisis. This study aims to investigate relevant research domains in the MICE/business events industry context. This paper found that there was very limited study on the topic. The topic of crisis management in the MICE/business events industry only started to gain much attention after COVID-19. To understand how crisis management practices have been adopted in the industry, the authors reviewed 32 articles including 29 papers on COVID-19, spanning 10 years, between 2014 and 2023. The findings showed that the research focuses on crisis management, crisis impact, response, resilience, communication, and recovery. Looking back, health-related crises (including COVID-19), political disturbances and terrorism themes are the biggest trends. This study addressed the need for more study on the topic for advancing knowledge, addressing emerging challenges, and applying findings to improve practice and decision-making as well as to develop a newly conceptual framework that places operational resilience on an equal footing with financial resilience, with indicators adapted to the risk profile of the operating model.

Abstract:
Historically, the maritime industry in Ukraine, which previously was subordinated to the Ministry of Transport of Ukraine and whose successor is the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, was complex of different organizations (shipping companies, ports, ship-repairing and shipbuilding factories and other related and auxiliary enterprises). They had their own organizational structures, goals and tasks and in some way interacted with each other. Such organization was aimed, first of all, at achieving target production indicators formed by the state authorities. In fact, such structure of maritime industry can be regarded as vertically integrated. When the issue of increasing the economic efficiency of the main component of the maritime industry (of the ports) was raised, the main efforts were aimed at minimizing the costs of their functioning. This led to the creation of horizontally integrated (in whole or in part) companies in the maritime industry. The driving factor for their implementation should be the transformation of organizational and economic mechanisms of regulation of the port’s activity from the point of view of a clearly defined anti-crisis character. Therefore, the goal of the study was to develop and justify the feasibility of using a model that will determine the effectiveness of the strategy of investment into the development of the organizational and economic mechanism of regulation of the port activity. The calculations of determining the best variant of an investment project under different external conditions are presented. In calculations based on certain criteria (appropriate levels of capitalization and effective dividend policies), we took into account the factors related to the expectations of the crisis in Ukraine, Ukraine’s unpreparedness to enter the new technological phase, the loss of scientific and technical personnel, inflationary phenomena and instability of the national and world currencies. In addition, within the framework of the developed model, the authors propose an algorithm that makes it possible to select the characteristics and determine the parameters of optimization of the organizational and economic mechanism of regulation of the port activity under the conditions of long-term continuation of the crisis situation.

<strong>Abstract</strong> This paper investigates the impact of financial crisis on the determinants of bank interest rate margin (NIM) in Turkey over the period 1995-2018. Turkey witnessed two recent major economic crises, a local crisis in 2001 and the global crisis in 2008. The sample period is divided into three sub-periods: pre-crisis period (1995-2001), post-local crisis period (2002-2007) and post- global crisis period (2008-2018). The NIMs are specified as a function of bank and market-specific variables, such as operating cost, liquidity, credit risk, implicit interest payments, size, managerial efficiency, and concentration. The results of the analysis show that determinants of NIMs following the local crisis and global crisis are significantly changed. After the local crisis credit risk levels were considered more crucial and costs and efficiency is considered as the focus in the aftermath of the global financial crisis.

Abstract:
The global pandemic COVID-19 has "stopped the world", and the tourism industry was hit by the brunt of the crisis. Airlines and hospitality industry, as the main "culprits" but also the victims, are suffering the enormous consequences of the pandemic. The course of their economic recovery is still very uncertain. Their economic perspective depends, among other things, on the crisis communication strategy they are pursuing, as well as crisis-adapted marketing strategies. The emphasis lies on utilizing all resources needed to restore confidence and increase demand for tourism facilities. All forms of communication have recently undergone a transformation, so previous marketing rules no longer apply in full. Messages we have up until now sent to customers must be eliminated. The crises communication rules have to be established and adhered to. Each phase of a crises implies specific communication rules. Therefore, companies which actively communicate with a broad spectrum of the public during the COVID-19 crisis, especially with their existing and potential clients, have a better chance of a faster economic recovery. Integrated marketing, designed exclusively in a digital format, represents a promising model of tourism recovery. This is particularly applicable for aviation and hospitality industry.

This article presents the empirical results of an intra-industry trade analysis of the United States fabric industry. The analysis included 92 countries in four Standard Industrialized Trade Classification (SITC) categories that represent the fabric industry. Results indicated that intra-industry trade levels were generally low, and country specific factors such as levels of economic development, levels of market size and trade deficit were negatively associated with intra-industry trade levels, while distance and trade barriers were somewhat positively associated. These results have strong implications for trade analysts, policy makers and fabric manufacturers as this industry is currently undergoing changes.

Abstract:
The article presents arguments about how the gaming industry is resistant to crises. Based on the data collected from 1998 to 2022, when the world was engulfed by several crises, we analyzed the global gambling revenues in the global GDP. From this, we derived the main research question: Do crises affect gambling revenues and what share of global GDP do they represent? We collected data from various databases. Statista and H2 Gambling Capital data were the most useful to us. We analyzed the data with the help of Tableau 2022.1, namely by predicting what the situation will be in 2033. We found that in the next ten years, the gaming market will continue to develop. However, the majority of this development will be contributed by internet gaming. The main conclusion is that even the gambling industry is not completely immune to crises. In the case of global financial crises (the example of the 2008 economic crisis) or the closure of public life and the ban on movement around the world (COVID-19), this impact can of course be large. In the case of local crises, however, this influence is negligible, because there is always an economy in the world that is in better condition, and therefore the people living there do not feel the crisis. However, it is always necessary to look at crises with a delay, only this gives a true insight into the extent of the crisis. gambling, online gaming, GDP, crisis, COVID-19.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the components of crisis phenomena and their impact on the functioning of the hospitality industry. The crises in the hospitality industry caused by the armed aggression in the east of the country, the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula, the outbreak of COVID-19, the military invasion of the Russian occupiers are considered and their consequences are studied. It is noted that influencing key sectors of the economy, the hospitality industry is increasingly becoming one of the most important indicators of socio- economic development, both in certain regions and the country as a whole. Crisis phenomena, which are constantly in close contact with the economy, have significantly affected the behavior of the hospitality industry, the use of new technologies for production, hired labor, procurement of necessary equipment, lower incomes, higher raw materials, higher taxes, higher utility tariffs and other economic factors. At the same time, hotel and restaurant enterprises form and provide services that meet the physical and spiritual and moral needs of the population and have a significant consumer demand, regardless of the social status of citizens. At the same time, a number of services of hotel and restaurant business enterprises carry increased social responsibility to citizens. These issues cannot be left without special attention and control by the state. The state must make much more efforts to support all hospitality industries, especially the tens of thousands of small business owners, whose rapid resumption will allow them to re-employ and retain millions of employees. Prospects for further research are scientific research on new systems of reforming the industry, because despite the fact that in recent years has accumulated considerable experience in the methodology of crisis diagnosis, the hospitality industry periodically experiences economic crises that depend on a number of factors study and improvement, which determines the feasibility of further research aimed at improving the development of hotel and restaurant business in times of crisis.

Abstract:
Purpose: This study sought to evaluate the post-crisis communication strategies used in crises preparedness in the tourism and hospitality industry in Naivasha Sub-County in Nakuru County of Kenya. Methodology: Mixed research methodology was used in the study, particularly the dominant-less dominant parallel/simultaneous (QUAL + quan) design. A quantitative sample of 362 and a qualitative sample of the key informants was drawn from a population of 1092 employees using the multi-stage and purposive sampling techniques, respectively. The instruments of data collection were questionnaires for survey of the 362 respondents and interview guides for the key informant interviews. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze quantitative data and were subjected to regression analysis using SPSS software whereas qualitative data was analyzed thematically. Findings: The study found that various post-crisis communication strategies were used in crises preparedness in tourism and hospitality industry on Naivasha subcounty. A communication strategy that emphasizes protection of the reputation of the organization was popular among a larger portion of the respondents 60% (n=177). The study also revealed that as a post-crisis communication strategy, the management in the hotels was keen to give information that focuses on coping psychologically with a crisis situation. The hotels also ensured that keeping the image of the hotels through communication strategies would enhance crises preparedness. The findings in post-crisis communication strategies included the messaging that focuses more on rebuilding of the organization’s profitability. This was found to be strongly and positively associated with restoration of the hotel’s image (r=.610). Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The situational crisis communication theory guided the study. The study recommends that the Cabinet secretary in the Ministry of Tourism develop policies that spell and guide crisis management plans that acknowledge effective crisis communication strategies in hotels in the country. This study findings will inform academia and be a base for scholars in mass communication in carrying out further studies in communicative strategies used in crises preparedness. The study will also inform the hotel and hospitality management on the importance of allocating adequate resources on communicative strategies to be prepared for crises.

Abstract:
The aim of study is to analyze the performance of Textile sector in Pakistan covering the pre–crisis period, post crisis period and period of crisis as well. For this purpose data were collected from overall textile sector from available sources for the period of five years. According to the most of the analysts, financial crisis 2008-09 is serious one after the world wide great depression of 1930’s. The analyses have been conducted on the basis of financial ratios (Profitability, liquidity and activity). The profitability ratios such as returns on assets were affected by financial crisis because returns on asset were decreased in crisis period as compared to cover pre and post crisis and same is the situation of return on equity that was also affected by financial crisis. The earnings per share are also reduced in financial crisis period because before and after crisis earning per share was positive but negative in crisis. The liquidity of this sector was also affected by financial crisis. Turnover of the assets also proved that assets were poorly managed by textile sector in financial crisis period. The results showed that the performance of textile sector had been better in pre-crisis and post-crisis while it was bad during crisis period.

Abstract:
The study examines the role of information and analytical support in anti-crisis management for food industry enterprises, emphasizing its growing importance in conditions of economic instability, rising competition, and supply chain disruptions. Effective crisis management requires enterprises to implement an integrated system that enables continuous monitoring, data collection, processing, and analysis to facilitate timely and well-founded managerial decisions. The study employs a systematic approach, incorporating comparative, statistical, and predictive analysis, along with risk modeling and scenario planning, to identify early warning signals of crises and develop effective response strategies. The findings reveal that modern digital tools, artificial intelligence, and business analytics significantly enhance an enterprise’s ability to detect potential crises, mitigate financial risks, and optimize decision-making. The research highlights the benefits of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, predictive analytics, and machine learning technologies in improving crisis response strategies. A structured monitoring framework, combined with an advanced decision-support system, enables enterprises to strengthen resilience, adapt to market fluctuations, and ensure sustainable development. Special attention is given to the role of digital transformation in integrating intelligent information systems, enhancing operational efficiency, and facilitating proactive crisis management. The practical significance of this study lies in its contribution to the development of an innovative framework for integrating information technologies into crisis management processes. The proposed approach helps food industry enterprises improve risk assessment, enhance strategic decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and maintain a competitive edge in a rapidly evolving economic environment. These findings provide a foundation for further research and practical implementation in the food sector, ensuring long-term stability and adaptability to dynamic external challenges.

Abstract:
The aviation industry has experienced many crises, out of which it usually departed with a strong rebound. Looking at the timescale, it is justified to argue that about every 10 years, a major crisis occurs. While this frequency appears to be rather stable, the severity of the downturn differs in magnitude. Thereby, general economic development and air traffic development are connected, with the later one being more volatile. This volatility, however, is not just true for the downturn, but also for the rebound following the crisis.&#x0D; &#x0D; Taking a close look at the temporal sequence of past crises like e.g. 9/11 or the Global Financial Crisis a clear pattern can be identified. The recovery of the aviation industry lags behind the recovery of the general economy, but rebounds stronger. To determine a quantitative relation of how much stronger the aviation industry recovers compared to the general economy, a model was developed based on the data of past crises. With a detailed focus on the recovery phase, this paper gives a forecast on how the rebound following the COVID-19 pandemic is likely to develop.
