Abstract:
The article examines the historical novel by E. I. Veltman “The Adventures of Prince Gustav Irikovich, the Groom of Princess Ksenia Godunova” and examines the reasons for the unpopularity of the work among contemporaries. On the one hand, the success of the author of the novel is the recreation of the color of the era (historical and everyday details and linguistic realities of the 16th century), on the other hand, the insufficient elaboration of the characters of the main heroes. The influence of the writer A. F. Veltman on the novel by E. I. Veltman is noted.

Adventure recreation (AR) has been found to supplement addiction treatment and recovery in valuable ways. However, questions about the components and processes of AR and its influence on behavioral addiction specifically, e.g., gambling, video gaming, pornography, etc., still remain. Using the Meaningful Learning Experiences Model (an AR-based framework) and a quasi-experimental pre-post design, the present study examined AR's influence on three therapeutic principles (authenticity, social network support, and therapeutic engagement) that have been found to significantly influence addiction re

This chapter evaluates how naturalist explorers influenced future tourists through their use of language, their behaviors, and their actions. Tourists in search of tropical nature would come to mimic the naturalist's experience. Explorer-scientists taught the public that visiting nature could be more than just “leisure”: it could be “recreational,” spiritually and intellectually uplifting. In the twentieth century, institutions such as the Smithsonian, the National Geographic Society, and the American Museum of Natural History also shaped how tourists would understand and appreciate the tropic
