Abstract:
We study the breadth of inclusion of information technology in sport management (SM) programs, surveying program sponsoring colleges and universities within a prominent state-university system. Our results indicate a very low number of SM programs require any type of information technology courses as part of their core requirements. In fact, only three programs have a requirement for a technology course specific to SM. To aid in the adoption of software and information technology into SM programs, we researched software systems that may provide skills to enhance the various components of SM. In an effort to make our recommendations even more meaningful, we pair specific software programs and their attributes with particular courses in SM. Moreover, we consider the common professional component requirements of the SM accrediting body Commission on Sport Management Accreditation and make suggestions as to how our software discoveries might aid colleges and universities in meeting accreditation requirements.

Economic efficiency in farming is achieved as a result of manager’s skills and proper technologic equipment available on the farm suitable for carrying out husbandry operations. Applying skilled management to the whole business of farming is of an extraordinary importance, too. The manager should be equipped with more or less sophisticated software that would make his decision making process more professional and adequate to (generaly) production conditions. Such software (program) will allow proving his technological conception by economic calculations and proper tests. An Agricultural Technology Management Program AGRO-EXPERT has been conceived and is discussed in this paper. The authors analyze situation in appearance of such programs and conditions/information necessary for their correct (adequate) functions.

[For the English abstract and full text of the article please see the attached PDF-File (English version follows Russian version)].ABSTRACT The article considers a new approach in the design of bridges (BIM-technology), which consists of creating a digital information model containing all information about the future object. When using BIM-technology, the changes made are automatically synchronized and updated for all participants in the process. The review and the comparative analysis of the software complexes realizing a design task: Revit and Tekla is executed. The Revit program has a large number of building element libraries. There are no such libraries for bridges, so special tools are needed, the creation of which requires considerable effort and time. The Tekla program offers a large library of useful elements, a functional interface for designing nodes and convenient means of generating custom extensions. Keywords: bridge, digital model, BIM-technology, information modeling, computer-aided design system, software complexes.

Abstract:
This study examined the extent to which undergraduate social work programs include information technology in their curriculum and how this inclusion is implemented. A national survey (N=297) of BSW programs was conducted in order to learn more about the inclusion of computer literacy skills in BSW education, and to assess the importance and amount of information technology content in BSW programs. Furthermore, feelings about the creation of a CSWE computer literacy requirement were also sought. It was found that respondents believe that information technology is important and should be integrated within the curriculum, but that this does not occur in the vast majority of programs. Although most programs stated that they taught some computer-related content in the social work curriculum, forty percent noted that students could graduate without any course content pertaining to computers. When it is present, information technology is primarily taught as part of the research course as a tool for statistical analysis rather than as a tool for facilitating BSW generalist practice. Respondents believed an overcrowded curriculum is the chief barrier to inclusion of information technology curricular content. Discussion focused on the inevitable increase in information technology in the university curriculum. Consequently, it is critical that social work integrate information technology within the curriculum in order to convey the professions unique perspective on issues related to its use in human service organizations and work with clients. Suggestions were made regarding how such integration can occur.

Abstract:
In October 1990, a group from Australian Catholic University received a grant from the Department of Employment, Education and Training (DEET) under the Structural Efficiency Principle for staff development. The aim of the project was to summarise and describe the use of technology for the provision and delivery of education to remote students. Typically these students are located in isolated rural areas. The intention was to produce an information kit for pre-service primary and secondary teachers, particularly those we see in the Bachelor of Teaching and Bachelor of Education programs offered at Signadou campus. While it is important to provide appropriate information and professional development for p.actising teachers, pre-service teachers must not be neglected in this process. It will be these teachers who will be helping set the agenda for the nature and type of developments that will take place with technology. As a result of the project a booklet and a short video were produced showing teachers and students using a variety of technologies for remote schooling.

Abstract:
Background The COVID-19 pandemic has required widespread and rapid adoption of information and communications technology (ICT) platforms by health professionals. Transitioning health programs from face-to-face to remote delivery using ICT platforms has introduced new challenges. Objective The objective of this review is to scope for ICT-delivered health programs implemented within the community health setting in high-income countries and rapidly disseminate findings to health professionals. Methods The Joanna Briggs Institute’s scoping review methodology guided the review of the literature. Results The search retrieved 7110 unique citations. Each title and abstract was screened by at least two reviewers, resulting in 399 citations for full-text review. Of these 399 citations, 72 (18%) were included. An additional 27 citations were identified through reviewing the reference lists of the included studies, resulting in 99 citations. Citations examined 83 ICT-delivered programs from 19 high-income countries. Variations in program design, ICT platforms, research design, and outcomes were evident. Conclusions Included programs and research were heterogeneous, addressing prevalent chronic diseases. Evidence was retrieved for the effectiveness of nurse and allied health ICT-delivered programs. Findings indicated that outcomes for participants receiving ICT-delivered programs, when compared with participants receiving in-person programs, were either equivalent or better. Gaps included a paucity of co-designed programs, qualitative research around group programs, programs for patients and carers, and evaluation of cost-effectiveness. During COVID-19 and beyond, health professionals in the community health setting are encouraged to build on existing knowledge and address evidence gaps by developing and evaluating innovative ICT-delivered programs in collaboration with consumers and carers.

At the same time, information technology can play a crucial role in promoting sustainable development by enhancing education and health, promoting equality and social justice, reducing pollution and the effects of climate change, and enhancing economic solutions and alternative methods. For example, information technology contributes to achieving the goal of eradicating poverty through: - Providing online learning platforms to enhance individuals' skills, distance education, i.e. access to education in remote areas that suffer from a lack of educational resources, and online vocational training by providing training programs to improve skills. Therefore, governments, international organizations and individuals must work together to adopt technology and information technology in a sustainable and effective manner to achieve the sustainable development goals. Innovation and investment in technology must be encouraged, awareness and education about the importance of information technology in promoting sustainable development must be promoted, and the correct and effective use of technology must be directed to achieve its benefits in the best possible way. Keywords: Information technology - development - sustainable development.

Abstract:
This month's tip centers on an alternative view of functions. Instead of perpendicular axes for domain and range, we explore parallel axes. This idea has been around for a while (see the references in Bridger and Bridger ([2001] and in the “Surfing Note”), but we hope to breathe new life into this fascinating representation of functions with two easy-to-use programs for the TI-83 Plus. We provide an introduction to mapping diagrams (also called function diagrams) and the code for one program to produce them using the TI-83 Plus. Information about the second program will be given in “Technology Tips” in May. Both programs are available electronically, so users do not have to type the programs into their calculators.

Abstract:
The Internet has become a valuable tool in education in the traditional classroom. Although electronic publications and other visual information in the form of PowerPoint presentations, with or without streaming video, have proven very effective in disseminating information, these forms lack interaction with clientele. Horizon Wimba software circumvents this limitation by allowing interaction between presenter and remote audience as well as between individual students while the lecture is in progress. This Web-based tool was evaluated in two Extension programs, Master Gardener and county agent trainings. With both types of audience, evaluations showed high satisfaction and effectiveness of the delivery of information. Evaluations also showed that Master Gardeners who use the Internet on a regular basis considered the Web-delivered interactive lecture format similar to face-to-face interaction. Master Gardeners who do not use the Internet on a regular basis listed that Web-delivered interactive training could be used as a supplement to traditional face-to-face interaction. County agents were very comfortable with the format and indicated high interest in participating in future trainings via the Internet.
