We study a receiver's learning problem of choosing an informative test in a signaling environment. Each test induces a signaling subgame. Thus, in addition to its direct effect on the receiver's information, a test has an indirect effect through the sender's signaling strategy. We show that the informativeness of signaling in the equilibrium that a test induces depends on the relative informativeness of the test's high and low grades. Consequently, we find that the receiver's preference relation over tests needs not comply with Blackwell's (1951) order. Our findings may shed light on phenomena

The intention of formative assessment tools usage is mainly to assess learning outcomes easily and quickly in a classroom environment. However, the tools need to be accurate and informative for teachers and students. At the end of any learning process, students certainly need to know their level of understanding in the learning process and what are the next steps for them to encounter. However, with increasing numbers of students in a classroom and increasing teaching workload among teachers, the teachers can gain benefits from these tools in assessing the outcomes quickly and more effectively

Particulate matter (PM) of sizes less than 10 µm () and 2.5 µm () found in the environment is a major health concern. As PM is more prevalent in an enclosed environment, such as a subway station, this can have a negative impact on the health of commuters and staff. Therefore, it is essential to continuously monitor PM on underground subway platforms and control it using a subway ventilation control system. In order to operate the ventilation system in a predictive way, a credible prediction model for indoor air quality (IAQ) is proposed. While the existing deterministic methods require extensi
