Research confirms that we dream every night about matters of current emotional significance. This means that a client's dreams will provide a continuing commentary on matters touched in therapy, potentially a rich resource to both client and therapist, yet far too often undervalued in practice. What happens to the dream ego is a metaphor about what happens in reality. This paper outlines the 'inside story' of a client's journey through the first year of therapy, as seen through a summary of her dreams.

A pilgrimage is the outer manifestation of an inner journey, often referred to as an allegory of the soul's journey to God. Thus it is cosmologically meaningful. The height of the journey is the arrival at the pilgrimage centre and the encounter with the divine. There the pilgrim perceives the gap between what he should be (according to the religious tradition) a what he really is, i.e. he suddenly realizes the discrepancy between the precept

This essay addresses various aspects of the phenomenon of “life courage”. The approach is phenomenological and draws on a Danish tradition of life philosophy. The aim is not to find definitions, but to approach the topic cautiously to reveal new aspects of the phenomenon. The text is an outer and inner journey through experience, art, literature and poetry. This journey starts by dwelling on the apparent absence of courage for life in situations of extreme darkness. Abstract:
This article highlights the protagonist’s journey in Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson towards finding an outlet to release the inner turmoil triggered by past traumatic experiences. Doing so, the paper sheds the light on the inner conflicts, as well as the major mechanisms of defense adopted by the protagonist. Just as importantly, by drawing on Kramer’s art therapy theory, the study explains how art creation and creative writing helped the protagonist and the author, respectively, release pent up emotions through a symbolic form, making them one step closer to the verbal form of self-expression

This paper argues that the Yuan dynasty Daoist Huang Gongwang’s 黃公望 (1269–1354) painting Clearing after Sudden Snow resonates with the principles of inner alchemy (neidan, 內丹), particularly the stage known as the resurgence of yang force. The process of recovery for communities adversely affected by natural disaster is often conceived as a steady journey back to what was. Experience in Christchurch following the 2010/2011 sequence of disastrous earthquakes tells us that recovery is actually very complex and will, in large part, depend upon the strengths of the community before the disaster. This article is the story so far, of one inner city community, how it responded to the disaster and how it is participating in its own recovery
