However, evaluation of the efficiency of investment in innovation, which is used in practice, does not take into account sufficiently the features of the innovation process, which leads to a high proportion of false decisions and lack of the commercial outcome of innovations. To increase the efficiency of innovative activities of enterprises, new requirements are put forward to improve the mechanism of selection of innovative projects during their internal examination. The purpose of the study is to deepen the methodological approaches to assess the effectiveness of innovation performance of enterprises and improve the mechanism of examination of innovative projects.Research methods. The article used general scientific and specific research methods, in particular: analysis and synthesis - to improve the interpretation of the concept of “innovative activity of the enterprise”; system approach - to clarify the economic meaning of the concepts of “management of innovative activities of the enterprise”, “efficiency of innovative activities of the enterprise”; graphic - for visual representation of statistical material and illustration of theoretical and practical provisions; expert assessment - to determine the effectiveness of innovative activities of the enterprise. Results of the research. In the course the evaluation of the efficiency of investments in the innovation project predetermines processing of expert assessments applying special tools, which involves checking the conditions of consistency and consensus of experts’ ideas. The final stage of the expertise involves making a decision on selection of one or several innovation projects for implementation in the conditions of the enterprise under consideration. It is established that the basis of selection should be the rating of the innovation project, the cost of its implementation and the budget of the enterprise’s innovation development. The final decision on the appropriateness of introduction of the innovation project does not require rigid formalization, but should be taken by senior management board of the enterprise as a result of qualitative assessment of the efficiency of investment in innovation projects.Perspectives. In future research, we plan to develop an algorithm for evaluating and selecting innovative projects during its examination at the enterprise level; to investigate the methodological tools for evaluating the effectiveness of innovative activities of enterprises.

Abstract:
The article investigates and highlights the approaches to defining the concept of “enterprise restructuring” depending on the state of its development strategy, substantiates the economic essence of the concept of “innovation” and “innovative activity “. Based on the combination of characteristics and essence of these concepts, the definition of “innovative restructuring” is formalized and the author’s definition is proposed. It is determined that innovative restructuring is practiced not so much in crisis enterprises as in enterprises that operate stably and seek radical quality change. When making changes, the main ones should be the innovative orientation of management systems, production flexibility, purposeful and effective innovations. It is proved that for effective and complex innovative restructuring it is necessary to improve the enterprise management system by developing and implementing new principles, methods and management structures. That is why the elements of the mechanism of innovative restructuring of the enterprise were singled out and the functions of innovative restructuring were defined and detailed, which allowed to improve the conceptual and categorical apparatus of this economic concept. It is proved that the condition for effective implementation of innovations in the framework of restructuring is the presence of innovative potential in the enterprise. In addition, the transition of the enterprise from one stage of development to another involves the gradual development of innovation potential. This explains the close relationship and mutual influence between innovative restructuring and the innovative potential of the enterprise. Thus, the achievement of goals in the process of enterprise restructuring will depend on the ability to form an effective system of innovation management and the level of innovation potential of the enterprise – its ability to achieve innovative goals.

Abstract:
The paper discusses scientific arguments and counterarguments about companies’ innovative activity, size, and geographic location of the sales market. The study’s foremost purpose is to empirically check if theoretical statements about a company’s size, export, and innovative activity are associated. Therefore, the questions discussed in this paper are a) Does an enterprise-size matter an enterprise innovation activity? b) Is there is a difference in innovation activity by Classification of Economic Activities (NACE groups)? c) Does the geographic location of the sales market matter the company's innovation activity? The research questions are discussed based on Armenian firm-level data. The findings could be applied mainly to the microeconomic environment of Armenia. The study involved R programming language Wilcoxon test, ANOVA, Tukey test, and Chi-square test are applied. The obtained results showed that the enterprise’s size does not matter an enterprise’s innovative activity. Even though larger companies have more resources to innovate, smaller companies are more flexible and agile. Therefore, the enterprise size is not a limiting factor. The results showed that the companies in some fields of the economy are more prone to innovate than others. In Armenia, most innovative enterprises operate in the group M-Professional, scientific and technical activities and the group C-Manufacturing. The research empirically confirms that when considering a company’s innovative activity, the sphere of the economy in which it operates has statistically significant importance in contrast with the company’s size. The findings by the Chi-Square test showed that a significantly higher number of EU exporting companies had made innovations. In contrast, companies selling their products/services in the local market have made significantly fewer innovations than expected if there would be no association between innovations and the geographic location of the sales market. Therefore, the exporting companies are more innovative than those that sell their products in the local market. Besides, the most innovative firms are EU exporting enterprises. In empiric studies, export is used as a proxy of international competitiveness due to its ability to show a country’s capacity in producing and selling in the international market. Therefore, the analysis of Armenian firm-level data showed the association between innovation and international competitiveness.

Abstract:
Abstract The development and implementation of innovations are becoming integral functions of a modern industrial enterprise. The author has developed an author’s approach to assessing the innovation potential of forest enterprises through the analysis of financial sustainability and the ability to cover their own liabilities to achieve competitive advantages. The methodological research toolkit uses the competitiveness rating of economic entities of the timber industry complex of the Ural region, formed according to several economic indicators of the market segment occupied by the enterprise, the quality of its products, innovation activity and its efficiency, the degree of financial support, innovative research projects and the availability and effectiveness of facilities, as the resulting indicator. The economic profit indicator used to assess the effectiveness of enterprises is positive if the enterprise has managed to earn more than the profitability of similar enterprises, i.e. the enterprise implements innovative projects, which in turn bring additional competitive advantages. The developed approach makes it possible to identify and evaluate the most significant elements of the innovative potential of the enterprise on the basis of the rating assessment, thus allowing to take into account the specific features of the enterprise and its operating conditions.

Abstract:
Clique problem has been fully researched in the social relations network of sociology,But the cliques in inter-enterprise networks have attracted people's attention in recent years. Based on the alliance data of the high-end equipment manufacturing industry in China in 2000-2013, we construct innovation network, and use negative binomial regression models to analyze the impact of the clique structure on enterprise innovation. The results show that the more the clique numbers in the alliance innovation network, the stronger the enterprise innovation capability. Whether the enterprises listed have a negative moderating effect on the impact of clique numbers on enterprise innovation performance. That is, for the listed enterprises, more clique numbers cannot significantly promote enterprise innovation, but for non-listed enterprises, more clique numbers are conducive to enterprise innovation. Innovation accumulation has no significant positive moderating effect on the impact of clique numbers on enterprise innovation performance. The impact of the coreness values on the enterprise innovative output in an inverted-U curvilinear way, and the coreness values also moderates the effect of innovation accumulation on enterprise innovation capability in an inverted-U curvilinear way. The conclusions of the research can provide the basis for the enterprise to embed the network cliques and for the relevant government departments to formulate the alliance policy.

Abstract:
The work deals with the problems of innovation transfer and intellectual property management at enterprises. An approach reasoning the choice of innovations and the type of their transfer at an enterprise has been developed, which increases the efficiency of innovation processes. For this purpose, the essence of the category “innovation transfer” regarding the micro-level was clarified and determined according to the sources of innovations. A set-theoretic model of innovation selection based on evaluating the essence of innovations, their generators (suppliers) and implementation conditions has been developed. For such an assessment, a set of criteria has been proposed, a number of the most essential conditions for introducing innovations at an enterprise have been identified, and an optimization model for the efficiency of the innovation development process has been developed. They allow making an informed choice of innovations in accordance with the needs of the enterprise. Evaluation criteria for the innovative potential are proposed and their essence is determined. Testing of the evaluation confirmed the possibility of using the proposed criteria. A model of innovation transfer, which presents the main processes and participants in the transfer of external and internal innovations has been developed, which allows enterprises to ensure a high level of organization and implementation of the transfer. Given the direct relationship between the transfer of innovations and intellectual property, an approach to improving intellectual property management at the enterprise is proposed. A number of principles of intellectual property management have been determined. The stages of intellectual property management at the enterprise are proposed as a set of specific actions determining all processes directly or indirectly related to such management, as well as those responsible for these processes and resource provision.

Abstract:
The capital market economy had created a good environment for the development of enterprises, and innovation had brought great impetus to the sustainable development of enterprises. However, the research on the relationship between stock market and enterprise innovation was not deep enough. Therefore, this paper proposed an empirical study on the relationship between stock price information and enterprise innovation management based on information learning mechanism, in order to provide reference for enterprise innovation and development. Firstly, taking the A-share listed enterprises from 2005 to 2020 as the research sample, this paper analyzed the factors that may affect the innovation behavior of enterprises, such as enterprise stock price information, peer stock price information, and IPO, and put forward relevant assumptions. Secondly, according to various factors that restrict the innovation behavior of enterprises, this paper defined relevant indicators to reflect the change law of enterprise stock price information, peer stock price information, and IPO and described the restrictive relationship between exploratory innovation and developmental innovation with different influencing factors by constructing a correlation regression model. Finally, through empirical analysis, the results show that exploratory innovation and developmental innovation are not affected by the enterprise’s own stock price information, but with the increase of peer stock price information, enterprise exploratory innovation becomes more sensitive to peer stock price information. Although the share price information of peers has no significant impact on enterprise development and innovation, after IPO, enterprises are more sensitive to the share price information of peers in exploratory innovation and developmental innovation. However, with the passage of time, the impact of peer stock price information on enterprise developmental innovation is gradually weakened.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to develop a new methodological approach to the analysis of innovative activity of enterprises of the agro-industrial complex in order to ensure their sustainable economic development, taking into account the factors of economic growth. Research methods. The scientific provisions on planning innovation activities and analysis of innovative processes (the essence and content of innovation activity of enterprises are justified), modeling and organization of innovation activity, forecasting its results in economic systems (modern trends in the development of methods for analyzing and assessing innovation activity of enterprises in the system activity), as well as general scientific methods of cognition: systemic (formulated the problems of assessing the innovative activity of enterprises from the standpoint of ensuring their sustainable development and determining potential ways to solve them), complex (analysis of the parameters of the innovative activity of domestic enterprises), abstract-logical (the influence of environmental factors on the innovative activity of the enterprise is analyzed), functional and structural-level research methods (the relationship of internal factors of the enterprise's innovative activity is considered), methods of analysis and synthesis (the relationship of the internal factors of the enterprise's innovative activity is analyzed), evolutionary and historical approaches (the relationship of the factors of the enterprise's innovative activity with the parameters of its sustainable development is considered). Research results. The methodological foundations of the innovative activity of agro-industrial complex enterprises have been theoretically substantiated as the degree of intensity of their actions on the creation and development (practical implementation) of innovations in the context of rapidly changing external conditions and tough market competition. Despite the high cost of mistakes in the innovative development of agricultural enterprises, the analysis of the innovative activity of an enterprise is an important tool for ensuring their sustainable economic development. Scientific novelty. The elements of scientific novelty lie in the theoretical substantiation and experimental confirmation of a new methodological approach to the analysis of the innovative activity of agricultural enterprises in order to ensure their sustainable economic development. This makes it possible to determine the tools for intensifying the activities of enterprises through building up and productive use of intellectual potential. The concept of “innovative activity of enterprises” is clarified and it is shown that this is one of the main characteristics of their innovative activity. The composition of the parameters of innovative activity of enterprises has been improved and a set of factors stimulating and restraining the innovative activity of agricultural enterprises has been determined. On the basis of the conducted analytical studies, the interrelation and power of the mutual influence of factors of innovative activity of enterprises, as well as the relationship of these factors with the parameters of sustainable economic development, were revealed. Practical significance of the article lies in the possibility of using its provisions and conclusions when analysing the relationship of internal factors of innovative activity of an enterprise, as well as when analysing the relationship between factors of innovative activity of agricultural enterprises with an assessment of the sustainability of their market development. The proposed set of methodological recommendations makes it possible to assess the innovative activity of an enterprise in the interests of its sustainable economic development. Tabl.: 2. Refs.: 22.

The paper reveals interrelations between the concepts “economic security”, “economic sustainability”, “development” and “competitiveness” of an enterprise. Based on their consideration, the paper enhances theoretical and methodological principles of establishing competitive innovation development and economic security of an enterprise. Unlike the existing ones, these principles provide for not only alternativeness but also equal significance when choosing between achievement of high levels of competitiveness, development and economic security. Application of the elaborated suggestions enables more objective formation of the policy of management of an enterprise’s innovation development under unstable conditions considering the industrial field and the market position of the enterprise. It is proven that essential elements of enterprises’ sustainable development include innovative activity, production provision, export of science-intensive products and development of high technology services, this providing for efficient levels of enterprises’ economic security and competitiveness. Under conditions of uncertainty, there are some basic functions of an enterprise aimed at enhancing its competitiveness and economic security including the following: achieving the optimal level of an enterprise’s resulting indicators and efficient “income-risk” ratio, innovative activity, ensuring the quality of an enterprise’s intellectual capital, environmental safety and meeting required social standards.

Abstract:
Our trends, formed in the conditions of active development of the post-industrial economy, dictate the need to apply an innovative approach not only to the development of the manufacturing sector, but also to form the innovative potential of service enterprises, which include trade enterprises. This is due to growing competition, increasing the frequency of new technologies for consuming services, increasing consumer demand. Innovative trade enterprises gain competitive advantages for the ability to expand the geography of service, optimize the speed of order fulfillment, provide a new level of comfort in receiving services, increase the reliability of services provided, and therefore increase customer confidence. The result of the previous review was the production of the most common features of the innovative potential, which are the result of systematization and a previous determination of the criteria for evaluating the potential of innovation. In conclusion, we can say that the innovative potential of the enterprise - is primarily the ability of the enterprise to create, develop and implement innovations. Innovation potential consists of a set of individual elements, each of which affects the resulting trait. Innovative potential is a separate object of management in the structure of strategic management of the enterprise. When assessing the innovation potential, it is advisable to use the necessary and sufficient number of indicators, which recorded the cause of the investigative relationship between the indicator and the result of the enterprise, are differentiated into groups. Obviously, based on the logic of the concept of "innovative potential of a commercial enterprise", the introduction of innovations and updates in the process of economic activity at all stages (from purchase to sale of goods) is evidence of staff knowledge, commercialization of creative ideas and actual potential. Only under these conditions it is possible to form and realize the innovative potential of a commercial enterprise, as well as to satisfy the interests of the consumer.

Abstract:
If the enterprises of the Third World are to survive intense competition and thrive in a globalized economy, they will have to go beyond importing Western and Japanese technologies and management models to innovation. Rapid and widespread induction of structured management tools imported from the West and Japan may raise the operating standards of these enterprises but may not translate into superior financial performance because they would not confer competitive advantage vis-a-vis domestic competitors that also have inducted the same tools. Besides, there may be cultural and other impediments to their effective institutionalization. Innovation is a superior option because it is homegrown and confers the first mover advantage. If the enterprise learns to be innovative so that it can generate a continuing string of successful technical and managerial innovations, it can garner sustainable competitive advantage and grow and thrive even in a hyper-competitive environment. Innovation is applied creativity and, therefore, the principles of creativity need to be kept in mind in seeking to be innovative. Innovation can come in a great variety. Most innovations have three characteristics: they are executed in the face of much uncertainty; they have economic implications; and they have a political dimension. These aspects make the management of innovation quite challenging. The major blocks to enterprise innovativeness are internal: conservative and bureaucratic cultures and structures, communications problems, and administrative inflexibility. In enterprises that have grown up in conservative cultures and protected economies, the required mindset change in the stakeholders can be daunting. As a first step to stepped up innovativeness, an organizational design needs to be adopted that is innovation friendly. Such a design is briefly outlined. A number of management tools can enable the enterprise to leapfrog to a much higher plateau of innovativeness. Sixteen tools are briefly discussed with real life applications. They are: creativity training; innovation training; creativity thinking network; creative scenario building; creative surveys; creative experiments; creative benchmarking; reverse brainstorming; exnovation; multiplication of change agents; kaizen; creative overload; data mining; stakeholders' councils; intrapreneurship; and parallel groups. These tools deliver a number of value propositions and facilitate: an innovationist mindset in the organization a ‘stretch’ vision of the future that can spur innovations vital intelligence that stimulates innovations dumping of obsolete activities that creates space for changes and innovations widespread change and innovation throughout the organization continuous improvements and innovations high potential new innovation leads ‘breakthrough’ innovations. In conclusion, the author suggests that becoming much more innovative is a high priority for the Third World enterprises. It is also suggested that the organization design that facilitates innovations and management tools that help an enterprise generate a continuing stream of successful innovations need to be incorporated into the core of management curriculum.

Abstract:
The problem of defining the prospects, opportunities, limitations and methodological format of assessing the competitiveness of an enterprise in a transitive economy using the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) concept has been considered. The relevance of the issue is due, on the one hand, to global trends in innovative development, and on the other hand, to the incompliance of performance of the post-socialist industrial enterprises with the characteristics of innovative development. The creation of mechanisms for improving the enterprise’s competitiveness and its appropriate assessment based on the use of advanced management practices and technologies is becoming increasingly relevant. The purpose of study is to improve methodological approach to the BSC-based assessment of competitiveness of a value-oriented enterprise, and to substantiate the prospects of effective integration of the BSC into the existing enterprise management system. This research paper justifies the possibility of using various methodological forms, including the simplest ones, of the Balanced Scorecard, which features a transformational nature, in the process of forming a balanced strategic management of enterprise. Methodical approach has been proposed for identification of the enterprise strategy directed at increase of its market value and strategic competitiveness. Matrix analysis was applied to assess the enterprise performance indicators; it revealed a relationship between the enterprise's competitive position and class of its innovation BSC-based strategies. To assess the enterprise’s competitiveness, an integral index of its investment attractiveness has been proposed, and to assess the class of the enterprise innovative strategies, an integral index of the enterprise innovations was calculated. The proposed methodological approach was used to perform expert sampling within the frame of indicators for determining the investment attractiveness and innovativeness of a metallurgical enterprise by the criteria of strategic orientation, efficiency and functionality. The study has analyzed the experience gained by the leading enterprises of Ukraine’s metallurgical complex in using BSC in a limited methodological format as a tool for identifying the strategy of an enterprise, assessing its competitiveness, innovativeness and investment attractiveness. The result of the study was the conclusion about the possibility of applying the simplest Balanced Scorecard forms as a catalyst for innovative transformations and developing balanced enterprise management in transition economies.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to develop and theoretically substantiate the mechanism of formation of investment and innovation strategy of the enterprise in the conditions of institutional transformations. It has been established that future competitiveness is associated with innovation, and for enterprises it is associated with their innovative activity. At the same time, the innovations themselves become objects of investment. Methodology. In the course of the research, scientific methods were used that took into account the laws and regularities of economic theory, agrarian economics, agrarian management, the dialectical and historical approach to scientific knowledge. Results. Abstract:
The purpose of the research is to reveal the phenomenon of “digital crisis” in the context of the development of the digital economy, to identify its impact and consequences for the innovative activity of the enterprise. Commitment to the development of the digital economy suggests that the gathering and processing of the increasing volume of digital data will increase the effectiveness of various types of economic activities. However, throughout the scientific and technological progress, the amount of accumulated information has increased at a pace ahead of the intellectual and computational capabilities of the society to process them. Statistical studies show the accumulated contradiction between the growing level of digitalization of Russian society and the stagnation of innovative activity of Russian enterprises.Materials and methods of research include the study of the ITindustry as a provider of resources for the development of innovations in the digital society. The analytical reports of consulting ITcompanies (IDC, McKinsey), the results of studies of the accumulated experience of its implementation in the activities of enterprises, the official statistics made up the factual basis of the research. The methodological basis of the study includes approaches to assessing the effectiveness of access to digital data, assessing the effectiveness of their use for solving economic problems. The results of research show the presence of the digital crisis, which is expressed in the inability of the IT-infrastructure to provide enterprises with effective access to digital data in the course of their innovation. At the same time, the volume of digital data is growing exponentially with the spread of the Internet of things and the increasing frequency of citizens’ interactions with digital services and platforms. The digital crisis makes it impossible for enterprises to extract knowledge from the data stream to develop innovation.Conclusion. While Russian enterprises are experiencing the impact of the digital crisis, which makes it difficult to develop innovations using a combination of IT and digital data, the Russian and global market is filled with foreign digital goods and services. The achievements of digitalization of Russian society become the basis for the development and dissemination of foreign innovations. Overcoming the digital crisis depends on factors either the external and internal environment of enterprises. The competence of the enterprise itself is the improvement of its organizational structure, business model and human resources. The external environment should create favorable conditions for enterprises’ access to innovation resources.

Abstract:
Purpose. The aim of the article is generalization of theoretical and methodological approaches to determining the effectiveness of innovative activities of the enterprise, the study of requirements, criteria and evaluation indicators. Methodology of research. General scientific and special methods are used in the course of research, in particular: monographic, analysis and synthesis – at research of concept of efficiency of innovative activity and approaches to its estimation; system analysis – in determining the state of innovation in industrial enterprises; tabular – for visual presentation of the analysed statistical data; abstract and logical – in determining the possible areas of innovative activity of enterprises of different sizes. Findings. There is an unstable trend of increasing the share of industrial enterprises that have implemented innovations (products and / or technological processes) in the total number of industrial enterprises, and an increase in the cost of innovative activity for the analysed period. It is determined that the best result is observed when implementing new or significantly improved low-waste, resource-saving technological processes, which indicates the dominance of process innovations. It is proved that the main source of funding for innovative activity is the own funds of enterprises, whose costs are growing annually and whose share is 87.7%. At the same time, most funds were spent on the purchase of machinery, software and equipment, iюeю on the renewal of material and technical base and modernization. There is an increase in the number of profitable enterprises, which indicates an increase in efficiency, as well as an increase in operating profitability and all activities of enterprises, but much higher rates are typical for micro and small enterprises, indicating their higher innovation activity and efficiency of modern development. Originality. Methodological approaches to determining the effectiveness of innovative development of enterprises have been improved, which, unlike existing ones, are based on incurred costs for innovation, volumes and sources of funding, reinvestment of profits, innovation activity, share of innovative products and increase profitability to substantiate possible directions of innovative development and implementation of measures to implement the results of research and development, taking into account the specifics and size of the business entities, the state and dynamics of the internal and external environment. Practical value. The use of generalized systematized methodological approaches to determining the effectiveness of innovative development of enterprises will allow to assess the results of the enterprise in each area of innovation based on the implemented innovative solutions in the current period and in the medium and long term.
