Purpose: This paper examines key aspects of innovative regulatory paradigms and their impact on global economic development. Design/Methodology/Approach: This research methodology is grounded in a comprehensive analytical framework incorporating system analysis, structural-functional approaches, and synthesis and decomposition methods. The synthesis method consolidates insights from diverse data sources, crafting a cohesive understanding of how innovative regulatory paradigms shape economic and technological progress. Research Limitation: The study is geographically confined to analysing regulatory paradigms in economies with significant global influence, such as Germany, while examples from emerging economies serve as complementary illustrations. Findings: This research reveals that innovative regulatory paradigms significantly enhance adaptability and foster innovation within the global economy. The study identifies a noticeable shift in adopting regulatory sandboxes from developed to emerging economies, highlighting their role in driving technological advancement and economic competitiveness. Furthermore, it was established that integrating flexible regulatory frameworks fosters innovation and ensures economic stability. Social Implication: By fostering green innovations and enabling digital transformation, these paradigms address pressing global challenges such as climate change, resource efficiency, and equitable access to technological advancements. Practical Implication: This research provides industries with actionable insights into the advantages of adopting innovative regulatory paradigms, such as regulatory sandboxes, to foster technological advancements and improve competitiveness. The article is devoted to new methodological approaches and frameworks to develop innovative and technological potential of Russian oil and gas companies. Implementation and interconnection of innovative strategies with general corporate and digital transformation strategies are among the top priorities of industrial enterprises and may contribute greatly to successful functioning in competitive environment in the long-term perspective. Development of innovative and technological potential is crucial for Russian oil and gas companies due to the role that the oil and gas industry plays for the economy of the Russian Federation. In addition to traditional R&D management approaches, when the results of intellectual activity are generally developed in the internal perimeter where they stay lately, enterprises consider modern frameworks of innovation including open innovation model. Open innovation model includes constant interaction with the external innovation community. Competencies exchange and the integration of external innovative solutions have perspectives in terms of speed that technological and digital innovations are developed and implemented. On the one hand open innovation model helps to find perspective solutions to existing technological challenges, on the other it supports small innovative enterprises (startups) to develop and implement their technologies in real business.

The combination of innovation and artificial intelligence (AI), with reference to innovative startups, presents a challenge for firms that start operating in the market. Such a transformation in the entrepreneurial scenario, which is likely to define new business models, has been observed in two European countries: Italy and Romania. In this article, we examine the AI-induced innovations in the regula tory frameworks of both countries. We then provide insights from interviews with CEOs of innovative startups, who discuss the challenges and prospects facing the industry. This paper concludes with some reflections on this evolving framework as a prelude to further studies.

Abstract: This article explores whether the legal landscape will be fundamentally changed in view of the emergence of smart contracts in China. Beyond the phenomenon of bitcoin supported by blockchain technology, we examine the development of smart contracts on blockchain with a close scrutiny of their merits and limits, and the intrinsic legal uncertainties in their application. The main argument is that while the gaps between the regulatory framework and the business practice can be identified, for most parts, the current legal framework can accommodate or mitigate the legal risks brought about by smart contracts. Résumé: Cet article pose la question si le paysage juridique sera fondamentalement changé par l’émergence des contrats intelligents en Chine. À part du phénomène du Bitcoin qui s’appuie sur la technologie Blockchain, nous examinons le développement des contrats intelligents en Blockchain avec une étude approfondie de leurs mérites et limites ainsi que les incertitudes légales qui sont intrinsèques à leur application. L’argument principal est que, bien qu’on puisse identifier des différences entre le cadre réglementaire et la pratique d’affaires, le cadre juridique contemporain peut, pour la plupart, accommoder ou mitiger les risques légaux causés par les contrats intelligents.

Africa has been facing significant challenges in its development process, including limited access to research and innovation. However, research, innovation, and technology transfer can play a crucial role in transforming African economies and addressing key developmental challenges. Therefore, legal frameworks that encourage and facilitate these activities are essential. This paper examines the legal frameworks in Africa for encouraging research, innovation, and technology transfer. It analyses the challenges and opportunities that these legal frameworks present and provides recommendations for how they can be improved. One of the key challenges in Africa is the lack of a comprehensive legal framework for intellectual property protection. This has resulted in a situation where innovative ideas and technology are not adequately protected, leading to limited incentives for research and innovation. Furthermore, there is a lack of clarity on how intellectual property rights can be transferred from one country to another, which has created barriers to technology transfer. Another challenge is the lack of a supportive regulatory environment. The absence of clear and consistent regulations for research and innovation has created uncertainty for investors and entrepreneurs. Additionally, the lack of a regulatory framework to govern technology transfer has resulted in the slow uptake of new technologies in many African countries. The paper suggests that the legal frameworks for research, innovation, and technology transfer need to be improved to address these challenges. This includes the development of comprehensive intellectual property protection laws, the establishment of regulatory frameworks for research and innovation, and the creation of mechanisms for technology transfer. The paper concludes by stating that, legal frameworks play an essential role in encouraging research, innovation, and technology transfer in Africa. Addressing the challenges facing the existing legal frameworks will require a coordinated effort between governments, the private sector, and international organizations. By developing more supportive legal frameworks, African countries can unlock the potential of research, innovation, and technology transfer to drive economic development and address key developmental challenges.

The imperatives of the spatial development of industry within regions of the South of Russia which have critical demand for innovations formed under the influence of external and internal factors, make necessary the search for new mechanisms that would create regional frameworks for innovation. Thus, taking into account the priority of the industrial sector in the innovative development of the region, the need to identify the borders of the frame of balanced innovation in this area confirms the relevance of the study. This article aims to discover the state and efficiency of using innovative potential of commercial actors that characterize the industrial landscape of the regions of the South of Russia as well as those that form frame matrices. The theoretical and methodological basis of this research is formed on the joint use of the system-synergetic, resource-efficient, process-targeted and endogenous approaches, as well as the combination of theories of industrial development, growth poles, balance and economic framework. In contrast to existing studies, the issue of making the industrial sector of the region innovative is analyzed from the point of view of the formation of an economic framework, the cores of which i.e. the nodes of business activity are the industrial drivers of the central territories, functioning in the cooperation with small and medium-sized innovatively active enterprises of the periphery. In order to achieve a balanced support of the framework for industrial innovation, the implementation of interregional projects, focusing on the creation of innovative clusters, is suggested. The structure of such clusters consists of industrial enterprises, which operate (or are ready for such a work) according to the import substitution model. The research concludes that the forms and scales of influence on the elements of measures in the economic framework that support innovative transformations in industry in certain regions of Southern Russia are determined not only by the state of the resource potential, but also by the specificity of certain territorial determinants, due to which these tasks should be directly connected to the goals of the social and economic development of the area under analysis.

The principal challenges confronting contemporary educational systems include suboptimal educational quality, inadequate accessibility for all social segments, tardiness in integrating the latest technologies, and the necessity for continuous curriculum updates. The proposed strategies and methods for enhancing educational systems entail active implementation of innovations, the application of modern technologies in the educational process, and continuous curriculum updates that consider labour market needs and the demands of contemporary society. This paper refers to the increasing interest in the development of theoretical frameworks in the area of measuring business performance, companies of all sizes have used them to test different business policies and strategies. Literature shows that these frameworks do not provide an effective and robust system, which is needed in today's dynamic market. For example, the existing frameworks do not relate to the actual strategies in place. Also, none can be considered generic, which makes any attempt of integrating measures and performance indicators virtually impossible. The authors discuss this problem and propose an efficient and flexible system for measuring small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) performance. However, businesses often must contend with forces, whether internally or externally generated, that tend to discourage or undermine innovation, leaving practitioners to question how their organizations may effectively and practically promote employee innovation in the face of countervailing forces. This article is intended to present social exchange theory as a ready tool for practitioners to assess the effectiveness of potential answers to that question. The question posed in this paper is how can social exchange theory be used to encourage employee innovation? By contrasting social exchange theory with principles of economics, this article aims to answer this question, providing practitioners not only a deeper understanding of theory but a means of evaluating the applicability of social exchange theory to proposed pro-innovation frameworks. In addition, by considering particular resources employers might offer their employees in exchange for innovative work behavior, this article also offers examples of how social exchange theory may be applied in practice to explain workplace behavior and, thereby, test proposed pro-innovation frameworks.

This research paper focuses on new security paradigms that can be used for the adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing environments. This paper describes current security practices, reveals crucial issues, and presents new approaches to cover the necessities of IoT-cloud environments in terms of security. Through a comprehensive literature review and experimental evaluation, we present two security frameworks: which include the Adaptive Multi-Layer Security (AMLS) framework and the Blockchain-Enabled Distributed Trust (BEDT) framework. These frameworks are proved to be useful in identifying the private, integral and secure mean data handling and quality of the IoT-cloud systems. The AMLS architecture for the conventional attack modes successfully detected all the attacks I. e., 95% detection while for the zero day attacks the framework had 85% detection rate and for the BEDT framework was a 99. 99% data integrity preservation. These results provide some suspicions for further research and applications in this growing field.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to address the importance of cultural values, the organizational culture and management style for innovation. It also comparatively evaluates the actual performance of European countries in innovation. Design/methodology/approach In this paper, the theoretical frameworks of the well-known scholars Hofstede, House, Schwartz, Boisot and Cameron and Quinn are critically evaluated and compared with each other. In addition, the authors compared the cultural rankings and the actual performance in innovation of selected European countries. Before addressing the impact of culture on the innovative strength of nations, different definitions of innovation are being described. The theoretical framework developed on the basis of the six Hofstede dimensions is composed; the nine House dimensions are supplemented and the Schwartz values for innovative strength of nations are also being discussed. Culture as a knowledge asset, the positioning in information space and its influence on innovation following the theories of Boisot and the different cultural types as defined by Cameron and Quinn have been studied and evaluated. The performance of European countries in innovation has been evaluated on the basis of the Global Innovation Index, the patent applications to the European Patent Office and the European Innovation Scoreboard. Findings Based on literature review, one can conclude that there is a strong positive relation between several cultural characteristics of countries in question and their innovative strength. The results of this paper point out the importance of cultural values for innovation. Research limitations/implications This research has assessed the relation between national culture in general on the innovative strength of nations. Future research on which cultural characteristics and management styles have the strongest correlation with the innovative strength of nations could provide valuable insights for both scholars in this research field and for institutions and companies that wish to improve their innovative strength. Practical implications The results of this study provide us with the insight that the innovative strength of a nation or organization can be altered by changing (parts of) its culture. A practical implication of this finding is that a government can, for example, increase its nation’s innovative strength by encouraging cooperation between different institutions and by limiting rules and regulations which could cause barriers in the innovation process. Social implications A social implication of the findings of this study is the knowledge that to improve the innovative strength of a nation, a government needs to pursue a pro-active policy of transforming national culture, for example, by changing the educational system and decreasing the power distance between teachers and students. Such an effort to influence the national culture addresses interesting issues regarding the concept of social engineering. Originality/value By critically evaluating the qualitative cultural frameworks of several well-known scholars and relating them to quantitative statistical data about the innovative strength of nations, this study has combined the strengths of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies and produced non-trivial findings in an original manner.

ABSTRACT Introduction. The modern development of cities is characterized by dynamic transformational changes, particularly in the domains of technology, economy, urban governance, and social integration. These changes require a reconsideration of traditional approaches to urban management and the implementation of innovative projects that respond to global challenges and ensure sustainable development. Goal. To identify the specific impact of transformational changes on the implementation of innovative urban development projects and to substantiate the role of such changes in enhancing the competitiveness, sustainability, and inclusivity of urban environments. Methods. The research is based on a combination of methods, including analysis, synthesis, comparison, induction and deduction, systematization, generalization, and graphical-tabular visualization. This methodological toolkit enabled the authors to define innovation-driven urban development frameworks and identify the main factors influencing their effectiveness. Results. The study outlines the essence of innovative urban projects as tools for improving urban infrastructure, services, and quality of life. It highlights how transformational changes—technological, economic, social, ecological, political, and institutional—shape urban strategies. Key innovation factors include digitalization, climate adaptation, inclusive governance, resource efficiency, and smart infrastructure. The findings emphasize the need for comprehensive integration of innovation into urban policy, taking into account environmental sustainability, social equity, and international cooperation. Conclusions. Transformational changes significantly affect the implementation of innovative urban development projects at global, national, and local levels. They determine the direction and success of modernization efforts in cities by reshaping political frameworks, encouraging inclusive growth, promoting ecological responsibility, and attracting investment. Sustainable and inclusive urban environments, shaped through innovation, are becoming models for future urban development and serve as benchmarks for other cities and regions. This study presents a novel framework to enable a blockchain technology integration in the real estate sector from an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) context, challenging the challenges of transparency, equity, and sustainability. As the sector is recognised as a critical stakeholder in sustainability, the research analyses whether blockchain could aid in streamlining operations, enhancing accountability in governance, and promoting equity in housing allocation. The data were collected with a mixed-method approach of qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys with 50 contributors who are real estate practitioners, blockchain experts, and ESG analysts. Key findings show that blockchain can be used to monitor carbon footprint, support fractional ownership, and create a trustless housing allocation system. Other governance improvements, through immutable records and real-time compliance tracking, were identified as key advances. Out of the real-life scenarios in a Malaysian context, there is land registry blockchain, green building certifications, and mostly all the technology is transformative. By providing actionable recommendations for regulators, industry leaders, and researchers, this research stresses the importance of regulatory, educational, and scalable solutions to bridge implementation gaps. This study lays a foundation for future work and practical applications of blockchain in sustainable real estate development by aligning blockchain’s capabilities with ESG principles.

Students in the arts field need to apply generic skills such as creativity, innovation, and critical thinking to generate new ideas in the production of artistic products. However, traditional learning and teaching methods have been found to be less effective in meeting the needs of interdisciplinary knowledge in the context of arts education. As a result, students often face difficulties in generating new ideas that are creative and innovative. There is no approach that combines knowledge across disciplines, causing the learning process to be unsystematic, less structured, and less focused. This situation hinders students' efforts to achieve their full potential in creating works of art. This cross-disciplinary approach encourages holistic development and innovation in the arts, aligning with sustainability principles. Despite its potential, implementing cross-disciplinary methods in creative arts education faces challenges such as resistance to change and resource limitations. This study critically reviews existing cross-disciplinary learning methods and proposes a new pedagogical framework aimed at integrating sustainable and innovative practices. Drawing on the theories of Sternberg and Amabile, the review highlights the importance of knowledge, creative thinking, and intrinsic motivation in fostering creativity. The proposed framework encourages students to engage in cross-disciplinary learning, critical problem analysis, ideation, and evaluation, preparing them to solve complex, real-world issues. By promoting creativity, critical thinking, and innovation, cross-disciplinary learning helps students develop the skills needed to address both artistic and global sustainability challenges.

The primary aim of this study is to assess the prospects and limitations of innovative approaches to risk management within the field of public administration in Ukraine. By scrutinizing current practices, the study aims to provide insights into the effectiveness and potential hurdles associated with integrating innovative strategies into the risk management framework. A comprehensive review of relevant literature and case studies related to risk management in public administration in Ukraine was conducted. The results of the study reveal a range of innovative approaches employed in Ukrainian public administration for risk management. These include technological solutions, data-driven decision-making processes, and adaptive governance strategies. It also identifies limitations such as bureaucratic impediments, resource constraints, and the need for enhanced legal frameworks. In conclusion, the findings underscore the importance of innovative risk management in Ukrainian public administration. The study advocates for a holistic approach, emphasizing the need for legal reforms, resource allocation, and fostering a culture of innovation within public administration entities. This paper addresses the critical need for robust governance, risk and compliance (GRC) frameworks in financial institutions (FIs), particularly in the context of increasing automation and digital transformation. By conducting a systematic literature review, the study identifies significant research gaps in the integration of regulatory compliance within GRC frameworks. The findings reveal a scarcity of focused research on regulatory compliance, despite its crucial role in mitigating risks and ensuring organisational resilience. To bridge this gap, this paper proposes a conceptual model based on business economic theories and organisational learning principles. This model emphasises the continuous processes of knowledge creation, retention and transfer, fostering an adaptive and dynamic GRC framework. The proposed model is designed to be versatile and applicable to various GRC processes such as compliance monitoring, risk assessment and governance practices. The study concludes that more interdisciplinary research is needed to empirically test and refine the proposed model in real-world, regulated environments. Such research will be instrumental in developing more effective GRC strategies that can navigate the complexities of regulatory compliance and risk management in an increasingly automated financial landscape. Currently, the interest in design thinking in the world has made it possible to add many techniques and visual schemes that can solve various kinds of problems, including for building a strategy to achieve the company’s goals, its corporate spirit and the development of creative skills of its employees. Already today, it is possible to call the merit of design thinking the shift of emphasis in corporate goals to customer orientation, to the mobilization of collective intelligence to solve problems, to understanding the importance of empathy, creativity and entrepreneurship. A comparative analysis of existing design thinking frameworks is given, including from researchers of companies and design centers such as Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University (d.school), The HPI-Stanford Design Thinking Research Program, Stanford d.school’s Design Thinking framework (IDEO), Google, Intel. Frameworks structure the process of design thinking in 5-6 phases: from empathy, when the needs and requests of consumers are studied, to testing an innovative product or service being created. The place of “design thinking” approach in the general concept of human-centered design is shown. The task of design thinking, the development of innovative products or services focused on human needs, is to provide a solution to a specific problem of a certain target audience. The paper outlines the principles of designing a digital innovative product. The five steps of designing a new product are described and the features of using various visualization techniques are given. The study uses such tools as the “Persona” model, Job Stories and User Stories frameworks. The creating process features of an innovative product based on the integration of design thinking, Lean Startup methodology and the theory of Jobs to Be Done are described. The life cycle of the innovation development “Creation – Evaluation – Training” is presented which is based on the process of validated learning. Changes in the outline of the business model in the lean startup methodology are presented. New segments have been added to the Lean Canvas business model – “Key Partners”, “Key Activities”, “Key Resources”, “Consumer Relations”.

This paper presents an extended framework for teacher noticing, alongside two innovative assessment tools: the Initial Teacher Education Noticing Continuum (TEN) and the Noticing Observation Framework (NOF). Utilising a mixed-methods approach within an intrinsic case study involving nine pre-service trainee teachers, the research uncovered significant insights into the participants' professional vision. The TEN demonstrated notable sophistication in trainees' skills for selecting, reasoning, and responding, while the NOF revealed that noticing plays a crucial role in developing teacher competency. As the study progressed, the participants exhibited marked improvements in their teaching practices. These results underscore the importance of structured frameworks in elucidating the relationship between teacher noticing and effective instruction, offering valuable implications for teacher education programmes.

The establishment of the Grampians After-Hours Service has led to the development of a quality framework for nurse telephone triage. The service providers believe this framework is the basis for the service?s success. While quality frameworks including critical evaluation and peer review are not new to the health industry, the development of organisational systems to improve quality in afterhours services is innovative. The framework developed is comprehensive, evidenced-based and emphasises training, protocols and documentation. It also involves a continuous and nonpunitive quality review process that operates at the individual, small group, organisation and whole-system level. The framework will continue to improve and at this time provides a foundation for discussion and further application in the pursuit of quality improvement in rural after-hours health services.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are two innovative classes of porous coordination polymers. MOFs are three-dimensional materials made up of secondary building blocks comprised of metal ions/clusters and organic ligands whereas COFs are 2D or 3D highly porous organic solids made up by light elements (i.e., H, B, C, N, O). Both MOFs and COFs, being highly conjugated scaffolds, are very promising as photoactive materials for applications in photocatalysis and artificial photosynthesis because of their tunable electronic properties, high surface area, remarkable light and thermal stability, easy and relative low-cost synthesis, and structural versatility. These properties make them perfectly suitable for photovoltaic application: throughout this review, we summarize recent advances in the employment of both MOFs and COFs in emerging photovoltaics, namely dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) organic photovoltaic (OPV) and perovskite solar cells (PSCs). MOFs are successfully implemented in DSSCs as photoanodic material or solid-state sensitizers and in PSCs mainly as hole or electron transporting materials. An innovative paradigm, in which the porous conductive polymer acts as standing-alone sensitized photoanode, is exploited too. Conversely, COFs are mostly implemented as photoactive material or as hole transporting material in PSCs.

The article presents the research findings on building innovative frameworks to enhance integrated business structure development in entrepreneurship. It is argued that integrated business structures that take into account the development trends and business activity rate to boost opportunities for the use of various organizational and legal management frameworks is the optimal management pattern to ensure entrepreneurship success. The study suggests that the specifics of business development strategy triggers the need to explore certain methodological aspects in management decision-making to boost integrated business structure activities. The article provides insights into specific features of innovative frameworks of integrated business structure development as well as identifies their structural elements. An emphasis is put that business structure performance is greatly affected by organizational, technical, financial, economic and operational business factors as well as the number of links in management chains. It is justified that in the context of selecting business structures, the integration goals and strategy are of critical importance. The study has identified the following structural elements of innovative frameworks to enhance integrated business structure development in entrepreneurship: providing targeted operational control in the areas of management; implementing strategic, systemic and tactical principles in the management process, ensuring optimal development of all business components subject to its key structural elements; type of organizational and legal business pattern; capital type and structure of integrating business structures; the model of financial arrangement and business interaction between the participants; management paradigm; the type of control; the degree of integration; the strategic priorities in business development.

Relevance. Extensive research has focused on evaluating and modeling innovative processes in territorial systems. However, an underexplored aspect is the assessment of spatial effects resulting from neighboring territories and the modeling of inter-territorial interactions in enterprise innovation. The existing regression models have limitations in accounting for spatial effects, indicating the presence of unaccounted factors. Research objective. This study aims to develop a methodological approach to evaluate the influence of factors on the dynamics of shipped innovative goods in Russian regions, taking into account spatial effects. Additionally, it aims to test the hypothesis that territories located near innovatively developing regions exhibit faster progress. Data and methods. The study utilizes regression analysis of panel data, employing combined least squares, fixed effects, and random effects methods to evaluate the influence of enterprise costs on innovation, the number of research personnel (researchers and technicians), advanced production technologies developed and used, the number of research organizations, as well as the internal costs of fundamental and applied research and development on the volume of shipped innovative goods in Russian regions from 2000 to 2021. To account for spatial effects, spatial econometrics techniques such as Spatial Autoregressive (SAR) models considering spatial lag and Spatial Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (SAC) models considering both spatial lag and spatial error are employed. The Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) with the White period weight matrix is used to address heteroscedasticity, and data transformation techniques including orthogonal deviations and the inclusion of dummy variables for each spatial unit and time period are applied. Results. The study reveals deepening spatial heterogeneity in innovation processes during economic downturns, which smooth out during economic recovery. Regions with high and low concentrations of shipped innovative goods are identified. Regression analysis establishes the impact of various factors on shipped innovative goods. Spatial models utilizing the Cobb-Douglas SAR and SAC frameworks demonstrate positive spatial effects, wherein neighboring regions exert influence on innovative development. Regions with high enterprise innovation activity, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, and others, exhibit the highest spatial effects. Conclusions. The innovative development of a single region depends not only on its own production factors but also on the innovative activity of enterprises in the surrounding regions. These findings highlight the importance of considering spatial effects in assessing and modeling regional innovation dynamics.

Innovative behaviour is attracted research interest. The research draws on Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) and Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) frameworks to examine the impacts of technology factors and intention to adopt Cloud-based Human Resource Management Systems on innovative behaviour. The mediating variable of intention to adopt Cloud-based HRMS was examined. Data were collected and analysed from 366 full-time employees who are working within the information and communication sector in SMEs in Jordan. The outputs from smart partial least square (SmartPLS) analysis reveal that technology factors effects intention to adopt Cloud-based HRMS, which consequently affects innovative behaviour. Whereas, leadership support was found to play a significant role in the relationship between intention to adopt Cloud-based HRMS and innovative behaviour, it has a positive effect. These results provide the relevance of the technological factor on how to foster innovative behaviors through intention to adopt Cloud-based HRMS and leadership support.

Innovation in education has been heavily focused on pedagogical, technological, or regulatory elements, while service innovation relates to other elements involving interpersonal and community co-production too. This paper provides a conceptual framework to understand innovation in education from a service economic perspective. This is done by bridging two rather disconnected research areas: service innovation and education innovation. The results indicate that (i) the characteristics of education as a service (such as interactive co-production) should be taken into account to better understand how innovations are created and implemented; (ii) innovation modes in education can be aligned with service innovation modes, mainly when a public service logic is adopted; (iii) the tension existing in service innovation between customization and standardization is replicated in the education sector; and (iv) multiagent frameworks in service innovation are particularly visible in innovative learning communities. Managerial and policy implications should be guided by service-friendly principles such as freedom, autonomy, and subsidiarity.

Climate change has prompted scholars to seek solutions, with many proposing that green innovation can drive sustainable development. This study examines the relationship between green innovation and sustainable development through a systematic review of existing literature. The review is framed by three key theories: Diffusion of Innovation Theory, Institutional Theory, and Triple Bottom Line Theory. A systematic review methodology was employed, involving a thorough search of scholarly databases to identify relevant articles, reports, and book chapters. These studies were critically appraised and synthesized to highlight key themes, theoretical frameworks, methodologies, and findings related to the green innovation-sustainable development nexus. The review reveals a complex, multidimensional relationship between green innovation and sustainable development. Green innovation positively impacts sustainable development, particularly in enhancing environmental and social sustainability. While numerous benefits are identified, significant challenges remain, including the lack of policies, regulations, and frameworks to effectively implement green innovations across various sectors. The study concludes that green innovation has a positive and significant influence on sustainable development. It recommends enhancing collaboration among governments, businesses, academia, and civil society to promote knowledge sharing, joint research, climate finance, policy frameworks, and innovative solutions for addressing climate change.

The aim of this paper is to assess the effects of technology innovation intensity on firm performance. A sample of 297 businesses funded by the Youth Enterprise Development Fund in Kenya was used as study framework. Correlation and a regression model were used for content analysis. The findings show that technology innovation intensity contributes positively to firm performance, but the entrepreneur characteristic affects the firms' innovation level. Further, the results show low profitability and expansion level among micro and small enterprises. The findings provide information necessary for competitive advantages and recommends the empowerment of entrepreneurs in technology innovation trends for their firm performance. The study endeavors to discover and advance enterprise innovative strategies that are ideally anchored in the technological, organizational, and environmental frameworks. The value of this study is on the approaches of entrepreneur capability in handling technology innovation intensity within a competitive business environment to improve firm performance.

Digital innovation is a key success factor for business enterprises and organizations concerned with public safety. Increasingly shorter technology cycles produce a stream of highly promising gadgets and smart devices and this innovative provision opens a gap between what is currently in use for the value-creation processes of an organization and what could potentially be used. The presented framework provides guidance on how to implement dynamic capabilities needed for business model and service innovation within a complex socio-technical system. A way to combine technology and use-case sensing with the ultimate aim of creating innovative artifacts for organizations is presented. While Business Model Innovation (BMI) literature mainly focuses on a strategic top-down process, we propose a bottom-up process-driven approach to complement business frameworks. Based on these insights, new service artifacts can be designed and analyzed in a systemic way. The applied research methodology is based on the design science research concept. A qualitative approach with focus groups was used to gather user requirements and facilitate participatory and user-centered design of information systems. In this paper, we provide a framework that supports business executives as well as IT experts on how to cope with and integrate new technologies into organizations, their processes, and their business models. In addition to a comprehensive theoretical overview of the proposed framework, we also provide practical results, since this framework was applied in the course of a service design and engineering research project. A use case of alpine rescue missions serves as an example to demonstrate the practical application of the proposed framework.
