Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to determine the directions of the integrated assessment of the competitiveness of construction enterprises. To achieve this goal the following tasks should be solved: the formation of a model for the assessment of the integral indicator of competitiveness, the characteristics of the indicators which are used in the developed model. It is proved that the characteristic of directions of estimation of an integral indicator of competitiveness of construction enterprises for determining its influence on the formation and use of intellectual capital, as a means that determines the development of the company, becomes of special significance. The scientific developments conceptual provisions concerning definition of directions of competitiveness estimation are presented. However, the issue of the characteristics of an integrated indicator of competitiveness assessment of construction enterprises remains unresolved. In scientific research there is no common approach to assessing the competitiveness of enterprises. The following directions, which can help to solve the problem, are singled out: implementation of standardization of indicators; calculation of partial coefficients according to the relevant indicators; evaluation of the integral indicator for three components: economic development, living standards of the population, investment attractiveness; defining a generalizing integral indicator of competitiveness. Areas of the model construction for determining the competitiveness of enterprises are determined. They are as the following: efficiency of production activities; assessment of the financial condition of the enterprise; the effectiveness of the organization of sales and promotion of goods on the market; the competitiveness of the goods. The models have been developed. The integral index of competitiveness of construction enterprises has been determined.

Abstract:
Despite the external and internal aspects, Ukraine continues to develop and modernize in diverse fields of activity. One of the areas that is gaining momentum in recent years is the activities of physical culture and sports organizations and their competitions with each other. The competitiveness of sports organization is a set of qualitative (non-price) and cost characteristics of physical culture and sports organization that meet the specific needs of sports organizations customers. The Research Aimed to analyze the competitiveness of physical culture and sports organization on the basis of relevant indicators to manage the competitiveness level of sports enterprise. Research Organization. The study was conducted from October 1, 2019 till February 29, 2020 on the basis of physical culture and sports organization – sports club «Sportexpert». The analysis of the services competitiveness was carried out on the example of the sports enterprise
 – sports club «Sportexpert». The integral coefficient method was chosen to assess the competitiveness. Research Results. Competitiveness assessment of physical culture and sports enterprises is impossible without analysis of the services competitiveness they provide. The main advantage of the step-by-step method of competitiveness is the assessment that it involves direct measurement and evaluation of the studied indicators. Furthermore, this technique allows taking into account the significance of certain parameters with the help of weigh coefficients, which makes it possible to determine the degree of their impact on the final integrated indicator of competitiveness. The general index of service competitiveness of visiting the gym in the sports club «Sportexpert» is 0,77. That is, 77 % of sports club visitors are satisfied with the service provided. Conclusions. The obtained results of calculations demonstrate that analyzed sports club generally has good competitiveness assessment. The integral evaluation determination of competitiveness was based on 10 indicators – characteristics of the sports club activity. The strong and weak points of the «Sportexpert» sports club have been defined. The main indicators that needed to be changed were prestige of the club, cost of services, quality of equipment, professionalism of coaches, and efficiency of training programs.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this study is to develop a model for the selection of optimal development projects for an industrial complex (IC), aimed at improving its competitiveness. Design/methodology/approach Selection of optimal projects for IC development is carried out within the framework of a methodical approach to assessing and forecasting the competitiveness of IC based on the phased implementation of the following steps: assessment of the current level of competitiveness of an IC; optimization of the project portfolio aimed at improving the IC competitiveness; forecasting the IC competitiveness. The methodology for assessing the IC competitiveness is based on a comparative analysis of its activities against those of its leading competitors and evaluates two integral characteristics, namely, the level of current competitiveness and the indicator of the competitive potential. The methodical approach to the selection of the optimal portfolio of projects for the development of competitiveness is based on a step-by-step optimization of the portfolio using a dynamic programming procedure, which takes into account the implementation conditions of the projects, resource constraints and the prioritization of these projects. The targeted benchmark for the optimization is an integral indicator of IC competitiveness, comprising various aspects of its activities. Findings Method for multi-factor evaluation of IC competitiveness and the impact of a set of factors driving competitive advantage; set of benchmarks of IC competitiveness; the model for the selection and step-by-step optimization of the portfolio of IC development projects, aimed at increasing competitiveness in the context of resource constraints. Practical implications Methodology described in this paper was used to assess the competitiveness and optimize the project portfolio of Uralelektrotyazhmash Group of Enterprises (UETM), one of the largest power engineering complexes in Russia. The assessment was carried out in comparison with the leading domestic and global manufacturers of electrical equipment, which form UETM’s primary competition in the marketplace. Originality/value The study establishes a method for the comprehensive assessment of IC competitiveness based on the comparison of IC activity indicators with those of leading competitors. The proposed method defines an integral competitiveness index to allow for the quantitative assessment of IC competitiveness, development of measures to improve IC competitiveness and producing a methodology to forecast the impact of such measures; the study proposes a methodical approach to selecting the optimal portfolio of projects for the development of IC based on the stepwise optimization of such a portfolio while taking into account the conditions of their implementation, resource constraints and the impact on the indicator of competitiveness. This approach allows the IC to prioritize the implementation of the development projects and maximize its competitiveness in the context of available resources.

Abstract:
The problem of defining the prospects, opportunities, limitations and methodological format of assessing the competitiveness of an enterprise in a transitive economy using the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) concept has been considered. The relevance of the issue is due, on the one hand, to global trends in innovative development, and on the other hand, to the incompliance of performance of the post-socialist industrial enterprises with the characteristics of innovative development. The creation of mechanisms for improving the enterprise’s competitiveness and its appropriate assessment based on the use of advanced management practices and technologies is becoming increasingly relevant.
The purpose of study is to improve methodological approach to the BSC-based assessment of competitiveness of a value-oriented enterprise, and to substantiate the prospects of effective integration of the BSC into the existing enterprise management system. This research paper justifies the possibility of using various methodological forms, including the simplest ones, of the Balanced Scorecard, which features a transformational nature, in the process of forming a balanced strategic management of enterprise. Methodical approach has been proposed for identification of the enterprise strategy directed at increase of its market value and strategic competitiveness. Matrix analysis was applied to assess the enterprise performance indicators; it revealed a relationship between the enterprise's competitive position and class of its innovation BSC-based strategies. To assess the enterprise’s competitiveness, an integral index of its investment attractiveness has been proposed, and to assess the class of the enterprise innovative strategies, an integral index of the enterprise innovations was calculated. The proposed methodological approach was used to perform expert sampling within the frame of indicators for determining the investment attractiveness and innovativeness of a metallurgical enterprise by the criteria of strategic orientation, efficiency and functionality. The study has analyzed the experience gained by the leading enterprises of Ukraine’s metallurgical complex in using BSC in a limited methodological format as a tool for identifying the strategy of an enterprise, assessing its competitiveness, innovativeness and investment attractiveness. The result of the study was the conclusion about the possibility of applying the simplest Balanced Scorecard forms as a catalyst for innovative transformations and developing balanced enterprise management in transition economies.

Abstract:
The authors propose a new methodology for the integrated assessment of the competitiveness of Ukraine’s banking services market, which reflects the result and perfection of the competitive interaction of banks and determines the degree of advantage of the set indicators of Ukraine’s banking services market over the set indicators of other sectors of economy and the corresponding markets in other countries. The approach is realized from the standpoint of competitive interaction of banks, business efficiency and distribution of services and is tested to analyze the situation in 2006–2017. The presented study is the second part of the general methodology for assessment of the competitiveness of the banking services market and covers the following items: banking efficiency, degree of monopolization, level of competition of banks, integrated assessment of competitiveness, disproportions and market saturation with players. To identify the advantages, the following relative indicators are introduced: indices of capitalization and concentration overrun, and index of competition exceeding. With this approach, Ukraine’s banking services market is compared with the commensurate markets of the euro-zone countries and other countries of the world. The perfection of the competitive interaction of banks is reflected by the indicators of efficiency, concentration, Herfindahl-Hirschman and disproportions. The generalized assessment of activities of all banks in the market is found due to the integral competitiveness index. In recent years, banking services markets in Ukraine and Romania have been ineffective. Among the countries with economy in transition, the markets of Poland and Turkey are the most attractive reference markets for Ukraine. To approximate the indicators to the level of Poland and Turkey, it is necessary to increase the capitalization and market value of banks by 10 times, to the level of Germany – almost 180 times. Concentration indices in Ukraine are overestimated 1.4 times as compared with Italy and France, 1.3 times – compared with Poland. The trend of Herfindahl-Hirschman index in Ukraine is growing and the integral competitiveness of the banking services market in Ukraine is low, with an estimation “satisfactory”. The necessity of increasing the capitalization of banks, the profitability of bank assets, the decrease in market concentration and the imbalances in the distribution of services is argued.

Abstract:
In order to determine the competitiveness of bread made from a mixture of rye and wheat flour sold in the Ukrainian market, the Ukrainian bakery market was analyzed and a comprehensive study of the quality of samples of different brands was conducted. On the basis of the analysis, the general trends of development are formulated and the reasons for the decrease in the demand for bakery products are identified. Quality assessment was carried out according to a set of organoleptic and physicochemical indicators for compliance with the requirements of DSTU 4583:2006 “Rye bread and a bread from mixture of rye and wheat flour. General Specifications”. Organoleptic quality of assessment was performed according to the developed 5-point scale. Acidity was determined by the filtrate titration method. Bread’s porosity was determined by the Zavyalov method using the Zhuravlev device by weighing four cylindrical notches of bread. The calculation of the integral quality index was performed taking into account the missing and reference values, using a complex method. The evaluation of the competitiveness of bread made from a mixture of rye and wheat flour was carried out by calculating the relative competitiveness indicator by functional, aesthetic and economic indicators, taking into account the weight coefficients. According to the results of complex qualimetric evaluation, the highest level of quality is characterized by the sample 5 – bread of TM “Kyivkhlib” (0.765), which is on average 15.04% higher than other prototypes. This is due, first of all, to the better organoleptic characteristics of this sample and a crumb moisture content of 48.47%, which is within the requirements of DSTU unlike other samples whose humidity is higher. A study of the competitiveness of bread made from a mixture of rye and wheat flour showed that sample 5 (Bread Borodynskii of TM “Kyivkhlib”) is more competitive than the studied analogues. The latter is due to high aesthetics (appearance, stock of crumbs, taste, smell) and functional (humidity, acidity, porosity) of crumbs. Sample 3 (Bread Borodynskii TM of “Tsar Khlib”) is also a sufficiently high integral competitive index (0.956), close to 1. The decrease in performance is related to the high cost of selling this product. Sample 2 (Bread Borodynskii of TM “RIGA Bread”) due to the low aesthetic, functional performance of, as well as the high cost of realization, the value of its integral competitiveness indicator was the lowest (0.317).

Abstract:
The necessity to contribute to a high competitiveness level of business structures in the increasingly competitive environment, globalization, fusion of labor markets and assets and to develop the digital economy requires an adequate transformation of the competitiveness management system of business structures. The purpose of this article is to suggest a methodical approach to assessing the competitiveness level of business structures in the digital economy. The approach is supposed to allow assessing the competitiveness level of IT business firms as suppliers of IT solutions to final customers using the methods of the hierarchy analysis, assessing the development level and the cluster analysis. The article analyzes the state and trends of developing business structures in the field of IT technologies from the point of view of their competitiveness. The paper proposes the economic and mathematical tools, which allow to justify the informational space of business structure competitiveness indices, calculate the importance of variables and weight coefficients, justify the choice of the method of convolution and developing aggregates, scaling the integral index of business structure competitiveness level in the digital economy. While implementing the proposed methodical approach to competitiveness data indicators of IT business structures the authors have identified companies with the highest competitiveness level and an IT company with the medium competitiveness level and a low market share, which shows the possibility of strengthening the market position of the company in a medium term. The developed methodical approach can be considered as an informational and methodical element of the competitiveness management system of IT business structures.

Abstract:
The objective of this paper is to highlight the results of assessing the impact of soil quality on the sustainable competitiveness of agricultural enterprises in Ukraine. The general hypothesis of the research is based on the assumption of available positive relations between soil quality and sustainable competitiveness of enterprises. The average content of humus is taken as an integral index of soil quality. The authors used correlation analysis (for determine the relationship density between content of humus and subindexes of sustainable competitiveness), econometric modeling (for study of the dependence between content of humus and subindexes of sustainable competitiveness), economic-statistical (for evaluation and analysis of the impact of content of humus on the sustainable competitiveness), abstract-and-logical (for theoretical generalization and analysis of the research results), and graphical (for the visual representation of the revealed dependencies). To receive the results, the statistical software package STATISTICA is used. The obtained results prove the hypothesis of a positive relationship between content of humus and sustainable competitiveness only in the area of sufficient moisture. For example, the research reveals a high direct correlation relation (r = 0.735) between the subindexes of competitiveness by the yield of cereals and content of humus in soil in Chernihiv region. For the first time, one- and two-factor linear and quadratic econometric models were developed, which made it possible to carry out quantitative estimation of the impact of content of humus on the formation of sustainable competitiveness.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to defining the essence and role of corporate (value) image as a factor of the value-oriented competiti-veness at the enterprise. The relevance of topic is due to growing role of intangible assets, image of the company, in the growth of its market value. Need for further research is connected with the problem of valuation of image. It is also connected with fact that in the highly concentrated basic industries of economy in Ukraine the overwhelming number of enterprises are cost oriented. Purpose of the work is to improve methodology of assessing the image of a value-oriented enterprise based on the concept of Balanced Scorecard - BSC. The system-structural analysis and the method of logical generalization were used to clarify essence and place of image in the structure of intangible assets of the enterprise, factor and economic-mathematical analysis – to form the BSC management panel and to calculate the integral index of corporate image; critical analysis - to compare alternative approaches to form a Balanced Scorecard and role of company image in the implementation of its cost growth strategy. Assessment of the corporate (value) image of a metallurgical value-oriented enterprise is implemented by the normative method of integral evaluation of the investment attractiveness of enterprises and organizations. The Balanced Scorecard - BSC concept, which is emerged as a system of estimation of the cost and efficiency of the enterprise using measuring instruments of material and intangible factors of its value creation, was used as a tool for assessing the corporate (value) image of a metallurgical value-oriented enterprise. The validity of valuing image of a value-oriented enterprise based on the BSC concept is that a positive image of an industrial enterprise produces its future value in the stock market, which allows it to gain an edge over its competitors. The authors have improved the method of estimating the image of a value-oriented enterprise, which, unlike the known ones, involves the calculation of integral index of the corporate image of enterprise on the basis of the Balanced Scorecard. The comprehensive assessment of the indicator takes into account both positive characteristics and reasoning for the choice: significant orientation on expectations of the investment community; the possibility of taking into account contribution of intellectual capital of the enterprise in the creation of its future value; simplicity of calculation and availability of indicator logic perception at all levels of management; the ability to navigate key factors of value creation and value image of the enterprise to lower levels of management. The practical value of the proposed methodology for the assessment of corporate image is to determine the strategy of its adjustment and increase the strategic competitiveness of the enterprise.

It is found out that in modern conditions, the concept based on the resource approach is more adequate for the agrarian sector as the business features in agriculture predetermine the considerable resources’ immobility. In agriculture, due to the specificity of rural settlements, the combination of the basic resources (land, machinery, people) causes a quite rigid configuration that cannot be changed quickly enough. But the resources themselves are not a source of competitive advantage; the ability to use available resources effectively is important. The authors propose a method for comparing the security and efficiency of the basic resources’ usage in agriculture by region. Under the framework of the methods, it was put the index method that allows comparing individual indicators and defining the integral index. The authors used such indicators as energy capacity, tractors and labour resources per one hectare of agricultural land to estimate resource availability. Resource efficiency is characterized by labour productivity indicators (gross production per one average annual employee) and land productivity (gross production per one hectare of agricultural land). The integral indices were calculated based on the geometric mean. There was done the comparative analysis of the provisions of basic resources and the efficiency of their usage by agricultural enterprises of Sumy region, neighbouring regions as well as the average industry indicators based on the proposed methodology. The analysis confirmed the existence of sustainable competitive advantages in the regional context and found that the leading resource is not natural characteristics, but effective management, which provides the highest efficiency of management. Conclusions. Taking into account the rapid changes in the business environment, any competitive advantage can quickly turn from sustainable to unstable. An assessment of the competitive advantages of the agrarian sector in the region has shown that to provide a sustainable position, it is first and foremost necessary to focus on reducing the costs and use innovations. Under conditions of rapid technological change, the main resource is human ones that can produce certain knowledge and innovative solutions. The proposed method of calculation of the integral indicators of resource availability and efficiency of their usage allows evaluating the existence of competitive advantages objectively and can be used both for the development of competitive strategies of agricultural enterprises and the preparation and decision-making at the level of central and regional authorities

Abstract:
In order to prevent negative socio-economic trends, to predict the social consequences of decisions on the implementation of state policy in the development of single-industry territories, public authorities monitor the socio-economic situation in single-industry towns based on an assessment of a number of statistical indicators. Such a differentiated assessment of statistical parameters does not allow a comprehensive assessment of the level of development and competitiveness of a single-industry town by territory, which is of particular relevance in modern conditions of glocalization. Of particular scientific and practical interest is a comparative analysis of the level of development of single-industry towns on the basis of an integral indicator that takes into account aspects of various spheres of life of the population and allows an objective assessment of the competitive positions of single-industry territories, which is currently not used by state authorities for monitoring. The purpose of the work is to assess and justify the conditions and development trends of single-industry towns of the Samara region on the basis of calculating the integral indicator of competitiveness, taking into account the level of development of the economy, finance, employment, social security and demography, as well as the mono-profile level of territories. In this study, we used the methods of system analysis, the method of comparisons and analogies, the method of generalization, the methods of dialectic and statistical analysis, the method of expert estimates, the method of retrospective estimates and structural-dynamic analysis. The paper provides an overview of the single-industry towns of the regions of the Volga Federal District; the results of testing the methodology for assessing the competitiveness of single-industry towns of the Samara region on the basis of an integral indicator are presented and trends in its change in the period 2013–2017 are identified. The study involved four single-industry towns of the Samara region: Oktyabrsk, Pohvistnevo, Tolyatti, Chapaevsk. The calculations showed that For five years Oktyabrsk was an outsider in four of the six areas under study (economics, labor, social services, demography), which led to the lowest competitiveness index and allowed us to identify the competitiveness of a single-industry town as “below average”. In relatively equal socio-economic conditions, there were Pohvistnevo, Togliatti and Chapaevsk, the level of competitiveness of which is “above average”.

Abstract:
A strategic stability can be defined as the company’s ability to successfully adapt to changing external and internal conditions of activity in strategically certain period, it will maintain its competitiveness. An important feature of strategic stability is that it is expressed by variety of indicators, that reflect economic, investment, technical, social and environmental subsystems, that characterize the systemic understanding of business enterprises. To solve the enterprise strategic stability problems, it is necessary to develop an appropriate methodology to provide a strategic stability assessment. In order to fulfill the requirements of the system, it is necessary to assess not only the individual subsystems of the enterprise, but also their relation, structure, that will let to unite the characteristics at integral (complex) index. This allows for indicators combination analysis method, included in the integral indicator with weights and relevance, based on the principle of hierarchy, tocreate a system of comprehensive evaluation of the enterprise strategic stability, which will give an objective description of the strategy in the short and long term. This is achieved by the fact, that a comprehensive indicator gives a more accurate estimate, because in the aggregate index the random events are graded, which is peculiar to individual indicators.

Abstract:
Besides the growth of globalization and informatization processes, the current stage of market relations development is characterized by the rapid development of competition in various fields and activities. At the same time, as the analysis of available studies on this issue has shown, a single universal approach to assessing the competitiveness of trade organizations has not yet been developed. As a result of the analysis of literary sources, a methodological approach to assessing the competitiveness of the enterprise has been recommended: the main stages and key principles of the analysis have been identified. It is determined that in the case of the study of the actual level of competitiveness in the context of existing approaches to assessing this indicator, it is advisable to use a factorial methodological approach. Based on the results of the application of the method of expert assessments, a system of indicators of the competitiveness of modern trade organizations is singled out. The most significant indicators forming the actual level of competitiveness include the price level index; absolute solvency ratio; purchase completion ratio; sales return ratio; market share indicator. The validity of the obtained results is confirmed by the calculated value of the coefficient of concordance and the results of comparing the calculated and tabular Pearson criteria. It is determined that the assessment system is based on a block system of criteria (effectiveness of the purchase and sales process, financial position of the business entity, quality of customer service, assessment of the market position) and the corresponding indicators of competitiveness, taking into account the key features of trading activity. According to the theoretical aspects of the developed assessment algorithm, its practical testing has been carried out on the basis of three competing trading organizations specializing in wholesale and retail sales of various categories of tools (OOO “Alliance Trade Service”, OOO “Sevprom Instrument” and OOO “Vash Instrument”). The values of the integral indicator of competitiveness of these trade organizations for 2019–2020 are analyzed in dynamics. Based on the comparison of the data, as well as the analysis of existing trends, the main problematic aspects of increasing the achieved level of competitiveness are identified, taking into account the specifics of a single enterprise functioning. The paper indicates the main areas of improving economic activity, which provide an opportunity to increase the actual level of competitiveness of trade organizations in the strategic perspective.

Abstract:
This article deals with the creation and development of the tourist destinations. The authors describe different types of development-related destination appeal, propose a logically interconnected sequence of stages in the formation of the desired profile of a tourist destination, and show that, in order to ensure effective functioning, it is imperative that economic and mathematical modeling to assess the potential of the current and achievable competitiveness of tourist destinations be used. The proposed model allows to calculate the quantitative effect of attracting investment to the development of tourist destinations. The defining characteristics are the coefficient of efficiency of economic activity of a tourist destination, and the efficiency ratio of a tourist destination. The authors introduce a new measure — the coefficient of tourist loyalty to a destination (coefficient of return tourist business) and propose a formula for calculating the integral index of the efficiency (competitiveness) of a tourist destination. In the article, the authors consider the basic principles of forecasting, which are to be taken into account in the course of the development-forecast model construction; provide a description of forecast models, and identify the properties required of an efficient forecasting model.

Abstract:
Well-designed marketing activities and the use of modern marketing tools can increase the competitiveness of banks on the market. Given this fact, the main purpose of the study is to develop theoretical and practical provisions for estimating the level of marketing activity of banking structures. This is based on the definition of the integral index and takes into account all the elements of the marketing-mix and their partial indicators. The urgency of solving this problem comes from the fact that it is precisely the estimation of the level of marketing activity of the banking structures that directs managers to make the appropriate adjustment of marketing activities and make use of modern marketing instruments that will increase the competitiveness of banks on the market (e.g. increase market share and expand the boundaries of the target segments, help to create a positive image of the bank and maintain its business reputation). The article proposes a calculation methodology for bank marketing activity, which has been tested through the definition of the level of marketing activity of the leading Ukrainian banks. The computation of the level of bank’s marketing activity is based on the calculation of the integral indicator by summarization the input statistics, that characterize the bank’s marketing activity, with help of two methods: the standardization method and the hierarchy analysis method (Saaty method). The results of the expert survey were used for determining the weight of partial indicators within the hierarchy analysis method. Based on the results, the analyzed banks are ranked according to the level of their marketing activity in the investigated period, and a system of particular measures for raising the level of their marketing activity has been established.

Abstract Innovation are considered as the engine of sustainability and economic growth. Innovations are an integral part of the business that is expressed in scientific and research activities. If a company want to gain competitive advantage, it must do the business activities in accordance with economic, environmental, social and institutional factors. Business activities in this area are reflected in macroeconomic indicators of the country. This article deals with innovations and sustainable development issues. The main goal of research is testing interaction between innovations and sustainable development through the selected indicators. Summary Innovation Index (SII) represents innovations and sustainable development is represented by the set of indicators from four areas: economic, environmental, social and institutional. The analysis is based on values of the Summary Innovation Index proposed by the European Commission to measure the competitiveness of European countries in terms of innovation activity and values of sustainable development indicators such as GDP per capita, energy intensity of the economy, migration, transport performance, greenhouse gas emissions, application of environmental management system, mining and consumption of mineral resources, etc. The research is carried out on the case of Slovakia with application of mathematical-statistical apparatus (correlation analysis). The main benefit of research lies in the identification of strengths and weaknesses of Slovakia in analysed areas and determining the expected development.

Abstract:
The role of human capital in the innovative development of the Ukrainian economy, which is formed through investment in the human being, is investigated. It is determined that an indispensable condition for sustainable development of the country is the implementation of the strategy of increasing the quality of human capital, which is actively involved in innovation processes and serves as a key resource for improving the competitiveness of the national economy. Emphasis is placed introduction of the model “lifelong learning” using modern technologies. A methodological approach to determining the level of innovative development of human capital is proposed and the value of the integral index of innovative development of human capital is calculated. The innovative-investment model of human capital development in the conditions of globalization is developed and the directions are defined. To overcome the problems of inefficient development of human capital and to improve its quality, a set of measures will be proposed that will contribute to the innovative development of the economy. The scientific novelty is to deepen theoretical provisions and to develop scientific and practical recommendations for improving the quality of human capital and its innovative development in the context of accelerating globalization processes.

Abstract:
The article focuses on the study of causal links between the level of innovation development and the shadow economy on the example of 10 European countries. Based on the analysis of existing approaches to determining the level of innovation activity in the country, a linear model for evaluating the Complex Innovative Activity Index is proposed. The main hypothesis of the paper was the assumption that the increase in the level of the shadow economy is accompanied by a decrease in the country's innovative development, deteriorating access to financial resources, and so on. The purpose of the paper is to analyze the correlation between the level of the shadow economy and the indicators of innovative development of the country as components of its macroeconomic stability using Panel data analysis from 2007 to 2018. Unlike previous studies, this research considered that level of innovative development increasingly depends on the level of the shadow economy. The results confirm the relationship between factor and result indicators for all analyzed countries. To test the hypotheses about the negative impact of the shadow economy on the level of innovative activity of the country was presented the linear model with Complex Innovative Activity Index as an integral indicator of 8 international indexes (Global Competitiveness Index, Digital Readiness Score, Digital Economy, and Society Index, Knowledge Economic Index, The European Innovation Scoreboard, Bloomberg Innovation Index, The International Innovation Index, Global Innovation Index) characterizing the level of innovative development of the country. In the second stage: testing of the data series for stationarity by the Dickey-Fuller and Philips Perron test Statistics, calculation of the optimal lag length from the maximum possible selected by the Akaike criteria, the Hannan-Quinn Information Criterion, and the Schwartz Information Criterion, verification of cointegration of data series using Johansen test are performed. Empirical calculations have proved the high impact of the shadow economy on the innovative development of the country. All indices are statistically significant at the level of 1% and 5% and 10% respectively. It is substantiated that the state should take into account interdependencies as a basis for the development and implementation of measures aimed at increasing the innovative activity of economic entities, increasing the innovation potential of the country, and so on. Abstract:
The majority of countries use several well-known integral indicators for economic forecasting purposes, on which basis these countries’ ranks in the global economic community are computed. Apart from allowing investors to make investment decisions, such indicators and ranks help in forecasting economic development in forthcoming periods. The best known of them is Ease of Doing Business Index and Global Competitiveness Index.
The less known ones are indicators of Business Tendency Surveys (BTS), computed on the basis of data obtained from questionings of enterprise managers in various economic sectors and from studies of consumer sentiments. Yet, specialists tend to use the data from these conjuncture surveys to analyze the current economic situation in a country (total or by industry) and build short-term forecasts.
Apart from the survey indicators depicting quite clearly a situation in the economy, the most popular ones in Europe are Confidence Indicators for enterprises by economic activity, and Economic Sentiment Indicator incorporating the indicators from BTS of enterprises and consumer sentiments. These indicators are computed by the European Commission for EU member countries on monthly basis.
The article shows changes in Doing Business ranks for selected EU member countries and Ukraine. BTS indicators for industrial enterprises (estimate of production capacities; estimate of change in the production orders; estimate of the competitive position of enterprises at the internal market) are analyzed for some of these countries. A comparison of the dynamics of production capacities utilization, business confidence indicators and Doing Business rank is made for Ukraine and Bulgaria. The prognosticating capacities of BTS indicators compared with Doing Business indicator are analyzed.

Abstract:
The paper discusses the prospects for the future of the economy and the possibility of its development within national projects. We focus our attention on the relevance of sustainable territory development and environmental protection. The trend of today is green economy and therefore, green energy and green technologies. Ensuring economic security is considered from the perspective of sustainability. The conclusions made are related to the increase of competitiveness by means of innovative development. Sustainable management of forest ecosystems suggests long-term forest preservation through direct and indirect financing of innovative activities. The directions of stable and sustainable economic development are highlighted, the implementation of the scientific research results and applied developments in the economic turnover being among the most promising ones. A method for constructing an integral index of sustainable forest management by using a group of indicators is proposed. 6 macro-indicators with corresponding micro-indicators reflecting the process of sustainable forest management were taken into account. Individual indicators are interpreted as concurrent ecological and economic, ecological and socio-economic, socio-ecological. It is important to form and evaluate the construction of an aggregated indicator. Attention is focused on the use of innovations that are competitive in the domestic and world markets of forestry products. The methods of innovation management are based on the creation of territorial-industrial forest clusters with the rational use of natural resource potential being taken into account.

Abstract:
The research of regional peculiarities of formation of human potential of Chernivtsi region is carried out, factors and factors influencing the formation of human capital are singled out. On the basis of the current methodology presented in the draft of resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (“Some issues of improving the system for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the implementation of the state regional policy”), the calculation of the regional human development index of Chernivtsi region for 2012-2016, analysis and monitoring of changes in its in the given region. The integral index of regional human development is calculated as the sum of indices for seven key indicators covering three directions: long and healthy life, well-being and decent work and education. Having analyzed the index of human development of Chernivtsi region for 5 years it is possible to separate certain features of the change of indicator: - the highest index has reached the index in 2014 -0,901, and the lowest – in 2016-0,793; - by 2016 Ukraine occupies 84th place in the country’s ranking on the Human Development Index and is estimated as 0.743, i.e., in Chernivtsi region, the index for 2016 is higher than the total Ukrainian; - The graph of the Human Development Index of the Chernivtsi Oblast has a hump-like appearance; from 2012 to 2013 there was a gradual decline in the index, after which the index from 2013 to 2014 reached its maximum value from 2014-2016 due to the economic crisis and the difficult economic situation in the state. The index has decreased by 13.6% from the value in 2014. The main indicator that influenced the index value is the general coefficient of growth (reduction) of the population, therefore the best situation for this indicator was in 2012, and the worst in 2016. But in 2014, this indicator is 0.870 and there is no significant effect on the index decrease, so the index in this year is very high, besides, all indicators except the number of dead from intentional self-harm and the volume of expenditures of local budgets are above 0.9, and the volume of expenditures of local budgets is less important due to the increase of the exchange rate, as this particular indicator in 2016 has a maximum value. One of the main problems of human development in the Chernivtsi region and in Ukraine as a whole is the uncertainty of the strategy and tactics of social policy, which would have an impact on the main tasks at both the state and regional levels, with the definition of their peculiarities regarding the formation of demographic policy, employment , increase of wages of workers, regulation of the labor market of educational services market, optimal reform of the health care system, introduction of mechanisms for providing social and household services for population etc. Taking into account regional features and socio-geographical conditions of development of Chernivtsi region, priority directions of development of the human potential of this region have been developed, aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the territory in the current conditions of reforming Ukrainian society.

Abstract:
To accelerate the transformation process in all spheres of economic and social life the relevance of the adequate assessment of the countries’ investment potential was determined in this article. The innovation process has a high impact on the investment potential of the countries through every sector of the economy. As a result, the countries competitiveness depends on the level of technological innovation. The scientific methodological approach to the estimation of countries' investment potential by the adoption of Hurst exponent was proposed. It is based on the magnitude of the accumulated deviation and reflects the economic essence of the concept of potential. As the time series in Hurst exponent calculation, the theoretical (predictive) values of the global attractiveness index were taken. It was determined by the econometric model of the dependence of the effective feature on five integral indicators of the following groups: infrastructure, science and education, ecology and human health, technology, socio-economic conditions. The integrated indexes for each group were calculated by normalizing the input dataset using the relative method, narrowing it with the relative scatter method and generalization with the arithmetic mean. The five-factor nonlinear regression model of the dependence of the global foreign direct investment attractiveness index on five integrated indexes of the groups was created with the Cobb-Douglas function. The calculations were performed for countries such as United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Estonia, the Czech Republic, China, Poland, the Slovak Republic, Romania, Ukraine. This study shows that at the present moment the Slovak Republic, Ukraine and the Czech Republic have the highest investment potential. Therefore, the value of the proper indicator is equal to 60%. At the same time, the lowest investment potential shows the United Kingdom, Spain and Poland, where unused investment opportunities are less than 40%. The obtained results let us define further development opportunities and establish the mechanism for directing the financial resources to the country. Keywords: Cobb-Douglas production function, FDI, the Hurst exponent, investment appeal, the potential for inward foreign direct investment, regression analysis.

Abstract:
Activity of business entities requires a constant increase in the level of their economic potential and the level of competitiveness of the products on the market. This task can be fulfilled provided the concept of constant economic growth is formed in the activity of enterprises, which can be implemented through the management of changes in the economic activity of enterprises. One of the components is the marketing activity, which plays one of the leading roles in shaping the sustainable development of an industrial enterprise when carrying out transformational changes in its activity. These changes, which are the re-engineering of business processes, help the company management adapt to the changing market (marketing) environment and optimize the internal business processes. The relevance of the research is undeniable. The article presents the main directions of transition to the effective marketing activity in the period of re-engineering of industrial enterprises’ business processes based on the analysis of the main trends of marketing and innovation activities of economic entities from different countries. The authors developed the indices that characterize the marketing potential of the company during the business processes’ re-engineering. They proposed to use an integral index of the company’s marketing potential during radical transformations and to take effective management decisions based on the prevailing range of its criteria values when carrying out an economic estimation of the company’s marketing potential in the period of business processes’ re-engineering. The results obtained from the calculations demonstrate the final estimation of the industrial enterprise’s marketing potential during the business processes’ re-engineering, which allows the top management of the industrial company to determine the level of performance of the company marketing activity and make sound managerial decisions for its further development.

Abstract:
The consistent evolution of technology around the world creates new production tools and opportunities for different economic agents. As a result, new economic structures are emerging as a result of industrial revolutions. Today, the digital economy is seen as the backbone of the fourth industrial revolution, as there is a clear shift in the underlying technology and signs of a technological and economic paradigm shift. The current stage of the industrial revolution is associated with the Internet communication technologies development, which has significantly changed the technology of business processes and has been called "digitalisation". Thus, the fourth industrial revolution and the third wave of globalisation are based on the digital economy. The article explores trends in the development of the Ukrainian economy under the influence of ubiquitous digitalisation. Digital transformation changes traditional business models of organisations, allowing them to occupy profitable niches in global markets, raising the prestige of business and the state as a whole. In today's environment, the level of digitalisation illustrates the degree of companies' competitiveness and is a determining factor in development strategy. To analyse the processes of digitalisation and determine the place of Ukraine in the digital world, the article identifies and describes four zones of digital transformation, which are particular to the world economies. It is determined that Ukraine has fallen into a zone of prospective economies, where digital infrastructure is limited. Still, digital development is accelerating, indicating the potential for digitalisation to flourish, which will benefit economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and long-term transformation. Ukraine's integral digital transformation index score is placed at 2.81 out of a possible 5 in 2021. It was determined that the main barriers to the digital transformation development in Ukrainian business include ineffective legislation, insufficient funding and low digital literacy of the population. However, the highest score among the index components was given to companies' overall level of digital transformation. A positive result of the survey is confirmation of increased investment in the digital technologies development in Ukraine: priority investments in this area include customer interaction, data analytics and HR management.

Abstract:
The article reveals the theoretical and methodological issues of studying the symbolic capital of the territory. In the context of strengthening social priorities in the development of the global economy, it becomes necessary to apply new methods for assessing the attractiveness and competitiveness of countries around the world. The human development index has not lost the relevance of a formalized assessment of the quality of life of the population. It affects the formation of the country's image, but does not fully reflect the qualitative changes taking place in countries of different levels of development. The image and symbolic capital of the territory is investigated from the standpoint of social geography. Speaking about the formation of the image of a region (country) within the framework of social geography, we mean the process of strategic marketing of the territory, that is, not just the creation of a short-term set of associations, but a long-term instrument of territorial governance. Understanding the value and significance of the positive image of the territory should be a necessary element of geographical research. The perspective image of the country and the region is an integral attribute, the central link of the system of strategic planning and territorial marketing. The authors propose the use of the parameter of Life expectancy as an indicator of the standard of living and physical health of the population, which forms the symbolic capital of a territory (country). The analysis of the qualitative content of the indicator of life expectancy of the population is given. The emphasis is made on the need to use a typological approach that reveals the relationship between material and spiritual well-being and the life expectancy of the population. An original typology of the countries of the world is presented, proving the thesis that the success of the socio-economic development of the country can be judged by the duration of the expected and healthy life of the population.

Abstract:
The insufficiency or lack of available diagnostic instruments to predict the probability of a company bankruptcy is associated with the absence of practices to capture downturn trends in financial and business performances which translates into a dangerous process of latent transition from the company temporary local inability into the total failure to meet its obligations, that is, to a loss of financial stability. The fundamental premises of this study is to identify the factors that ensure financial stability of an enterprise. To attain the research objectives, the method of statistical analysis and logical generalization has been employed to consider a pull of enterprises that are losing their solvency and are on the verge of bankruptcy; a substrate approach was implemented to justify and group a range of internal and external factors affecting the enterprise financial stability. This article argues that a critical indicator in evaluation of a company performance is assessing its financial position which affects its competitiveness, and guarantees to all parties and business participants (both the enterprise and partners) that the realization of common economic interests will be effective. The company financial and economic position when its solvency remains constant over time together with an optimal ratio of equity to debt capital is a certain indicator of a company financial stability. Most analytical studies on enterprise financial stability view the amount, allocation and use of working capital as the most significant indicators, their accounting provides further opportunities to evaluate financial stability and financial position of an enterprise, as well as to identify potential problems and concerns that will lay the basis for choosing a relevant crisis management strategy aimed at designing and implementing effective pathways to respond to crisis. Undoubtedly, it is advisable to obtain an aggregated index that takes into account all the enterprise activities. Such index should include the following indicators: working capital availability; return on capital; independence on external financing. Thus, the essential factors in enhancing the enterprise financial management in a market environment are continuous planned analysis and timely diagnosis of changes and trends in the enterprise external and internal environment, as well as timely and maximum effective response to such changes to ensure financial stability and solvency of the enterprise. In the current business realia, characterized by a high level of economic uncertainty, achieving strategic financial goals and ensuring long-term financial stability of an enterprise is impossible without building an effective strategic financial management framework, the integral elements of which are the mechanisms and systems of risk management to prevent a drop in financial stability and mitigate shocks from external and internal environment negative effects on enterprise activity, as well as creating favourable environment for efficient decision making and planned actions to promote enterprise development.

Abstract:
Introduction. In the modern world, socio-economic and political leadership of a country is based on the generation of new knowledge, its commercialization and use in all areas of human activity, it being an important prerequisite for improving the competitiveness of the state. To achieve this goal, individual elements of the national innovation system including the main components of the innovation infrastructure are being formed in many constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Materials and Methods. The constituent entities of the Russian Federation are the object of the research, the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the main components of the innovative productive and technological infrastructure being the subject of the study. A typology of Russia’s regions in terms of the development of their innovative productive and technological infrastructure was carried out. To calculate the integral index of the level of infrastructure development, linear scaling was applied; the number of different objects of productive and technological infrastructure in each region was used as the input indicator. Results. The types of the regions of Russia have been singled out according to the level of development of the productive and technological infrastructure and their brief description has been given. One and the same type includes territories having a similar structure and level of saturation with objects of productive and technological infrastructure which is manifested indirectly in the main results of the innovation activities of the regions. It has been revealed that more than half of the regions of Russia have a low level of development of the productive and technological infrastructure, a small number of regions are characterized by a high level of infrastructure development, in other constituent entities of the Russian Federation an average level of innovation infrastructure development has been noted. Discussion and Conclusion. The level of the innovative development of the regions of Russia largely depends on the degree of development of the productive and technological infrastructure. Further progress of the productive and technological component of the regional innovation systems is associated with the development of effective marketing mechanisms for the commercialization of innovations, with the improvement of the quality of education and its focus on the issues of innovation. The results of the research can be used by decision makers to substantiate the diversification of regional innovation systems in accordance with the priority directions of the technological development of the country.

The article is focused on the evaluation and comparison of the international competitiveness of the Visegrad countries – four countries Slovak Republic, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. The article consists of four chapters. The first chapter is focused on a short introduction to the issue. The second chapter briefly describes the methodology used in writing the article. It analyzes in detail the individual parts and subindices of the Global Competitiveness Index. The third chapter evaluates the specific values of the index which the countries of Visegrad four achieved from 2010 to 2018. The fourth chapter focuses on assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the countries’ competitiveness. It also contains a proposal for the future direction of states. The concept of global competitiveness is increasingly being used to assess many different methods and indices in comparing countries. One of the best known indices is the Global Competitiveness Index, which is compiled annually by the World Economic Forum. It assesses how countries achieve and maintain economic growth and how business of every country is influenced by competitiveness. Higher quality of financial reports makes companies more competitiveness and motivate investors to put money into them.
