Abstract:
Background and Objectives: Racism’s impact on health has been well documented. Health professional programs are beginning to help learners understand this social determinant of health through curricular integration of education related to racism. Yet educators are hesitant to integrate these concepts into curricula because of lack of expertise or fear associated with learner responses to this potentially sensitive topic. The purpose of this study is to describe the responses of learners to learning sessions on racism as a social determinant of health (SDOH) highlighting structural, personally-mediated, and internalized racism. Methods: Two separate groups—a family and community medicine (FCM) residency program (N=23) and a community health leadership program (N=14)—participated in lectures and workshops on internalized, personally-mediated, and structural sources of racism, and tours introducing them to the local community’s historical roots of structural racism, including discussions/reflections on racism’s impact on health and health care. Mixed-methods evaluation consisted of learner assessments and reflections on the experiences. Results: FCM sessions received a positive reception with session averages of 4.15 to 4.75, based on a Likert-type scale (1=did not meet expectations to 5=exceeded expectations). Thematic analysis of community health leadership participant reflections showed thought processing connected to a better understanding of racism. Overall, themes from both programs reflected positive experiences of the sessions. Conclusions: Our preliminary study findings suggest that educators who encounter internal or external barriers to integrating racism-related concepts into curricula might find that these concepts are well received. This study lays the groundwork for further research into best practices for integration of curriculum on racism as an SDOH for medical schools, residency programs, and other related educational settings.

Abstract:
In Shakespearean literature, one can find themes that challenge the Elizabethan conventional way of thinking and life, and the tragedy of Othello is no exception. In a dramatic presentation, Shakespeare challenges the way in which Black people are seen in Elizabethan society by placing a Moor in the context of Venice, Italy who is both hated and respected in his place in a racist society. There is no doubt that there is racism in Elizabethan society. According to Eldred Jones, during the era in which Othello is composed, Queen Elizabeth enacts legislation that calls for all Black people to leave the country (Jones, 1994). Racism is not the core theme of the dramatic piece; however, the existence of racism is illustrated and expressed via Shakespeare’s artistic medium. Just as feminism, greed, jealousy, hubris, and varying other matters dealing with the human spirit do not seepage Shakespeare’s consideration, nor do race matters. Furthermore, just as he dramatizes human issues, he dramatizes race matters. There are fictional elements in Othello that are intertwined with nonfictional matters of human behavior and racial unrest. In the middle of racial unrest, Shakespeare composes a theatrical production with a Black character who is esteemed, reviled, shunned, and integrated into such a society, capturing the complicated nature of communal racism itself. Critical Race Theory (CRT) is both a theoretical and practical framework, which promotes a space to deeply engage in discourses of race. CRT highlights the importance of conceptualizing race, racism, power dynamics and structural inequalities. Although the social work profession emphasizes the importance of integrating cultural and racial diversity into social work education, practice and research, the integration of CRT within social work will promote racial competency essential for social work professionals. The purpose of this study is to investigate ways to identify the challenges of integration of minority groups, such as migrants, ethnic/racial minorities, and refugees in Swedish-speaking Ostrobothnia by using the Structured Democratic Dialogue (SDD) as a participatory methodology. This particular method was selected for this study with the purpose to bring all identified stakeholders in the society together to collaboratively and collectively identify and further discuss the challenges and obstacles they face. The Co-laboratory brought together twelve participants with a diverse socio-economical and educational background in Vasa, Finland. Based on the influence map generated by the participants as a result of the workshop, social inclusion was revealed to be one of the most important indicators hindering the integration of minority groups at the local level. In particular, silent acceptance of racism or racist comments were according to the participants the most influential factor preventing the successful integration of ethnic minorities in Swedish-speaking Ostrobothnia.

Abstract:
Abstract Amid the growing global flow of goods, workers migrating in search of work face a major challenge of integration in destination countries. Issues of racism and discrimination emerge in the workplace, causing inequality of opportunity. This research aims to describe the relationship between precarious work, discrimination at work, and perception of racism by migrant workers. The preliminary analysis of scientific production on the subject in Brazil suggests that the racist social structure is a condition for the insertion of migrant workers in precarious working conditions, compromising their social insertion. A quantitative cross-sectional study was conducted through a survey of four ethnic groups from different Brazilian regions. The results confirm the influence of precarious work on the perception of racism, with discrimination at work being a moderating variable in this relationship.

Abstract:
AbstractLatino racial/ethnic intermarriage has grown over time, increases with each generation in the United States, and occurs most frequently with non-Hispanic Whites. This article answers the question: How does intermarriage change racial/ethnic consciousness for both partners? Drawing on in-depth interviews with thirty intermarried Latinos and non-Hispanic Whites, I critique assimilation, Whiteness, and colorblindness theories, finding two predominant racial consciousness outcomes of intermarriage: race cognizance and racial colorblindness. First, intermarriage can enhance Whites’ understanding of race/ethnicity and racism, a phenomenon I call race cognizance. Second, intermarriage can produce colorblind discourse that focuses on similarity, yet in ways inconsistent with colorblind racism. Racial consciousness varies by ethnicity: most intermarried Whites reported race cognizance, an outcome unforeseen by traditional theories of integration, whereas Latinos more often espoused colorblindness. These understandings are used in different contexts: race cognizance is stimulated by the public domain, whereas colorblindness is evoked in private space. These findings demonstrate that racial consciousness is fluid, and influenced by intermarriage and ethnicity.

Abstract:
Recent European integration discourses are more and more structured by neo-racist topoi based on orientalist markers of difference. In the Austrian debate people of Turkish origins are particularly affected by such ascriptions. They are marked as a group not willing to integrate and culturally not fitting into Austrian society. In this discursive conglomerate women are identified as oppressed victims, lacking education and being in need of help. Using biographical narratives of young Austrian-Turkish women this paper reconstructs four modi of dealing with these discursive ascriptions and experiences of neo-racist othering: retreating and pragmatically reducing ambitions, trivializing racist experiences and assimilating to the mainstream, naming facts and aiming to improve the situation by communication, delegitimizing and ironically transcending racism.

Abstract:
This study focuses on the conditions of immigrants in Italy, the problems of integration they are facing and the coping strategies they adopt in this process. During the 1980s, an increasing number of immigrant workers arrived in Italy. The Government and the Italian society in general were not prepared to absorb immigrant workers for many reasons. Traditionally Italy has been a country of emigration rather than immigration. Moreover, the number of immigrant workers grew considerably in a short period of time, and Italy did not have the necessary legal and social infrastructure to cope with this in-flow. Since the Government is not providing them with some essential services needed to live in the country, many immigrants have to rely on the assistance of voluntary associations and non-governmental organisations (NGGs). Although, there are many associations of immigrant workers, they are not in a position to provide these services. The integration of immigrants is made more difficult by their sociological characteristics. The immigrant population is not homogeneous. Immigrants workers belong to different nationalities and have different migration plans in mind. Filipinos, for example, are mainly women who are planning to work for a few years and then go back to their country. North Africans and Senegalese are generally men who are planning to stay for a longer period. This complexity has involved additional difficulties in addressing the problem of immigration effectively. In addition, the situation of immigrants is not well known. Social scientists have analysed some aspects of the phenomenon and have given some indications of its extent and although the research conducted suffered from many limitations it has helped decision makers to face emergencies but not to plan ahead. Government inaction and the deteriorating living conditions of immigrants have favoured the emergence of racism and intolerance in public opinion. The service provision has now become secondary to the problem of race relations. The problem to be solved is the right of immigrant workers to citizenship and not only the provision of basic services. The situation analysis at national level and the study of two cases (Florence and Rome) suggest that: 1) there is a gap between the image and the reality of immigrants in Italy; 2) the working and living conditions experienced by immigrants do not correspond with their expectations and this create a sort of 'status discrepancy'; 3) immigrants have to cope with a situation of uncertainty that does not permit them to plan their life in the long-term; 4) NGOs and voluntary associations cannot replace the Government in the provision of services but can play an important role in the process of integration of immigrants; 5) after many years piecemeal, fragmented and contradictory interventions the Government, pressed by racism and dissatisfaction growing among public opinion, is now in favour of a policy of closed doors and self-protection.

Abstract:
Despite abundant evidence of structural/institutional discrimination and racism throughout the Swedish society, these conditions have so far not attracted much interest within library and information science in Sweden. Significantly more interest has been devoted to research, as well as reports by practitioners, on the integration of ”immigrants”. The aim of this paper is to examine how library discourses on integration of ”immigrants” affect the understanding of– and the approach to – racism. I have taken on this task by performing a discourse analysis, specifically Carol Bacchi’s ”What’s the problem represented to be” (WPR)-approach. The empirical material analyzed is a report on integration produced within the National Library of Sweden’s work with the national library strategy (Nationella biblioteksstrategin). Drawing on postcolonial and intersectional critiques, as well as critical library and information science research, I interrogate the problem representations, the production of ”Swedishness” and the silences around racism in this report on integration. In my analysis, I show that structural/institutional discrimination and racism is made invisible through two particular discourses on integration. I have named these two discourses ”the problem discourse” (problemdiskursen) and ”the helper discourse” (hjälpardiskursen). These two discourses constantly locate ”the problem” with the ones who are to be ”integrated”. Libraries are portrayed as institutions able to help the problematic ”Others”, for example through teaching them ”modern values”. In effect, issues such as housing and working  life discrimination, increasingly restrictive migration policies and the reproduction of colonial representations of ”the Other” are made irrelevant within these discourses – and ”Swedishness” is (re)produced as an unproblematic norm. My results show that the integration discourses not only make discrimination and racism invisible – in fact they uphold a racist discourse. Finally, my results confirm the findings by several North American LIS researchers, who have shown that library discourses on diversity, multiculturalism and integration prevent the library field from addressing issues of discrimination and racism.

Abstract:
While South Africa's new democracy has meant that schools are now open to all, there is still racism in our schools. The changes in schools have in some cases exacerbated racial tensions and mistrust. Teachers everywhere are struggling with the changing dynamics of their classrooms and schools. There is much talk about how to work against racism. Various programmes and schools have developed different ways of dealing with it. All have particular ideas about how best to counter it. Resisting Racism aims to discuss and understand the beliefs and assumptions underlying many of these approaches. We look at the theories behind the different practices, present a range of ideas to illustrate them and consider their limits and possibilities. The book is a starting point for teachers and schools to reflect on their practices and help them to work out new strategies in the classroom and school. The approaches described will probably work best if they are used together, specially adapted to the specific context in which they are to be used. In the first part of the book we look at psychological and sociological explanations of why people are racist. Four different ways of looking at the issues are described. Each suggests practical ways of dealing with racism in the classroom and in the school. Chapter Three, on multi-cultural and anti-racist education, covers similar ground but from a slightly different angle, looking at curriculum debates about race, culture and equality. The final section looks at the concerns that many teachers have every day, such as "How can I deal with the language problem?" and "How can I involve parents in these issues?" In discussing these questions we have tried to use current theory to inform the practical ideas suggested. You will discover that this book is not neutral. It does have a point of view. It seeks to explain the limitations of assimilating students into a status quo and asks that schools take a critical look at their policies and practices. There are no easy answers or quick solutions. However thinking about and understanding the issues of racism and the ways in which it may be resisted can only bring us closer to positive change.

Abstract:
Between the 1890s and the 1960s, sport had a distinctive and varied impact on the social, cultural, political and economic life of the British Jewish community. During this period, Anglo-Jewry developed a clear sporting tradition, in both a direct and indirect sense, and their participation in the world of British sport had a significant impact on processes and discourses surrounding integration, ethnicity and anti-Semitism. Through a broad analysis of archival materials, newspaper sources and oral history, this thesis seeks to examine the influence that sport exerted on the Jewish community – paying particular attention to the ways in which physical recreation affected the internal dynamics of the community and influenced Jewish relations and interactions with the wider non-Jewish population. As will be shown, whilst sport is a useful lens through which to view socio-cultural development within Anglo-Jewish history, evidence suggests that physical recreation also had a notable and noticeable direct impact on Jewish life within Britain. Although Jewish sport history is an expanding field in an international context, it has been largely ignored within British academic research. Within the historiography of Anglo-Jewry, little attention has been paid to the socio-cultural impact of sporting participation. Similarly, within research concerning British sport history, race and immigration are themes that have been generally overlooked. As well as redressing important historiographical gaps, this thesis will also help expand our knowledge of the process behind minority integration and will further demonstrate the wider social importance, and the extensive and varied applications, of the historical study of sport. This thesis demonstrates that sport has been a key area for the creation, maintenance and erosion of Anglo-Jewish identity and has been an arena for the development, reinforcement and undermining of Jewish stereotypes. Sport, effectively, assumed a central role in Jewish life throughout this time period and was a pivotal factor in many social, cultural and political changes affecting the Jewish community of Britain.

Abstract:
The empiric data is based on six individuals’ statements. We have chosen to make a qualitative interview study to investigate individuals' experiences of a phenomenon. The selection of study field was inspired by the social debate about refuges, asylum seekers and immigrants. There have participated six informants in the study and they have been resident in Sweden for over 8 years. Three of the informants who participated in the study, came to Sweden as an unaccompanied asylum seeker and three came because of connection to kin. Our goal was to listen to the informants' own life experiences and statements. Based the statements, the purpose of the study was to investigate how people, who have immigrated to Sweden, experiences the integration process and what kind of social support is available for their integration. We have leaned towards previous research, for instance, the concepts of integration and the meaning of "us" and "them". We also used the concept which relates to everyday racism, culture and connection. Using previous research and concepts we have alongside the empirical material analyzed and produced results. The results showed that the integration is complex and that our informants have comprehend the phenomenon. They think that the social support has helped them to become a part of the Swedish society. At the same time the informants encountered various obstacles in terms of everyday racism and the adaptation of the new culture

Abstract:
The aim of this essay is to examine the ambivalence that I consider work of solidarity carried out from majority position to be associated with, and whether it makes sense to understand the relationship between majorities and minorities involved in this work by using the concepts of race and whiteness. Through Ruth Frankenbergs work on white women and race I consider whiteness to be a racialized position, and through Sara Ahmeds phenomenology of whiteness, which describes racialization as made through the orientation of bodies, I investigate how this racialized position is shaped and maintained by the solidarity work. The study is based on qualitative interviews with four White women engaged in two organizations that works on integration of female immigrants through creating jobs in a cooperative and through educating in national and familial democracy. The work of solidarity told of by the interviewees seems to produce racialized notions about immigrated people of color, which acts as a counterpart to the whiteness that the interviewees themselves possess. At the same time, the work also challenge this binary division, especially by incorporating the non-white women in what in this essay is called "the white world".

Abstract:
In this paper we experimentally investigate the air flow distribution at the inlets of two opposing racks in a cold aisle. The racks have non uniform heat load and air flow requirements creating a heterogeneous data center environment. The Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) unit fan speed is set to meet the air requirement of the high heat density rack. The effect of perforated tile air velocity on air distribution to both the racks is studied using particle image velocimetry (PIV) technique. PIV images are recorded at various rack heights corresponding to the locations of the servers in the rack. The PIV images recorded at various locations are stitched to construct a complete rack inlet air flow map. Three cases of rack air flow distributions are studied by varying the server work load and perforated tile flow rate. A significant change in the air distribution pattern is observed for the three cases investigated.

Abstract:
Energy efficiency in data center operation depends on many factors, including power distribution, thermal load and consequent cooling costs, and IT management in terms of how and where IT load is placed and moved under changing request loads. Current methods provided by vendors consolidate IT loads onto the smallest number of machines needed to meet application requirements. This paper’s goal is to gain further improvements in energy efficiency by also making such methods ‘spatially aware’, so that load is placed onto machines in ways that respect the efficiency of both cooling and power usage, across and within racks. To help implement spatially aware load placement, we propose a model-based reinforcement learning method to learn and then predict the thermal distribution of different placements for incoming workloads. The method is trained with actual data captured in a fully instrumented data center facility. Experimental results showing notable differences in total power consumption for representative application loads indicate the utility of a two-level spatially-aware workload management (SpAWM) technique in which (i) load is distributed across racks in ways that recognize differences in cooling efficiencies and (ii) within racks, load is distributed so as to take into account cooling effectiveness due to local air flow. The technique is being implemented using online methods that continuously monitor current power and resource usage within and across racks, sense BladeCenter-level inlet temperatures, understand and manage IT load according to an environment’s thermal map. Specifically, at data center level, monitoring informs SpAWM about power usage and thermal distribution across racks. At rack-level, SpAWM workload distribution is based on power caps provided by maximum inlet temperatures determined by CRAC speeds and supply air temperature. SpAWM can be realized as a set of management methods running in VMWare’s ESXServer virtualization infrastructure. Its use has the potential of attaining up to 32% improvements on the CRAC supply temperature requirement compared to non-spatially aware techniques, which can lower the inlet temperature 2∼3°C, that is to say we can increase the CRAC supply temperature 2∼3°C to save nearly 13% −18% cooling energy.

Abstract:
Conducting experiments on real high-density computer servers can be an expensive and risky task due to the risks associated with unintended inlet temperatures that exceed the server’s red-line temperature limit. Presented herein is the development of the simulated chassis that mimic real computer servers. Briefly, twelve high-power simulated chassis were designed and built to accurately simulate the actual operating conditions of a real computer chassis in a data center. Each simulated chassis is designed to have approximately 300 Pa pressure drop at a flow rate of 600 cfm to represent a real IBM server chassis. Additionally, the simulated chassis are designed to match the thermal mass of a real server. Eight of the simulated chassis were designed to have constant speed fans and variable heating power while the remaining four chassis were designed to have variable speed fans and variable heating power. Further discussions about the design phase of the simulated chassis are the substantial part of this paper. Underlining the challenges and safety issues with high-power chassis, guidelines for designing and constructing a chassis that simulates the real environment of a typical data center are presented.

Abstract:
The work presented in this paper describes a simplified thermodynamic model that can be used for exploring optimization possibilities in air-cooled data centers. The model has been used to identify optimal, energy-efficient designs, operating scenarios, and operating parameters such as flow rates and air supply temperature. The model is used to parametrically evaluate the total energy consumption of the data center cooling infrastructure, by considering changes in the server temperature rise. The results of this parametric analysis highlight the important features that need to be considered when optimizing the operation of air-cooled data centers, especially the trade-off between low air supply temperature and increased air flow rate. The analysis is used to elucidate the deleterious effect of temperature non-uniformity at the inlet of the racks on the data center cooling infrastructure power consumption. A recirculation non-uniformity metric, θ, is introduced, which is the ratio of the maximum recirculation of any server to the average recirculation of all servers. The analysis of open-aisle data centers shows that as the recirculation non-uniformity at the inlet of the racks increases, optimal operation tends toward lower recirculation and higher power consumption; stressing the importance of providing as uniform conditions to the racks as possible. Cooling infrastructure energy savings greater than 40% are possible for a data center with uniform recirculation (θ = 0) compared to a data center with a typical recirculation non-uniformity (θ = 4). It is also revealed that servers with a modest temperature rise (∼10°C) have a wider latitude for cooling optimization than those with a high temperature rise (≥20°C).

Abstract:
Abstract In a data center, electronic equipment such as server and switches dissipate heat and the corresponding cooling systems contribute to typically 25–35% of total energy consumption. The heat load continues to increase as there is a greater need for miniaturization and convergence. In 2014, data centers in the U.S. consumed an estimated 70 billion kWh, representing about 1.8% of total U.S. electricity consumption. Based on current trend estimates, U.S. data centers are projected to consume approximately 73 billion kWh in 2020 [1]. Many research and strategies are adopted to minimize energy cost. The recommended dry bulb temperature for long-term operation and reliability for air cooling is between 18–27°C and the largest allowable inlet temperature range to operate at is between 5°C and 45°C with American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) enabling much broader allowable zones) [2]. But understanding a proper cooling system is very important especially for thermal management of IT equipment with high heat loads such as 1U or 2U multi-core, high-end servers and blade servers which provide more computing per watt. Many problems like high inlet temperature due to the mixing of hot air with cold air, local hot spots, lower system reliability, increased failure, and downtime may occur. Among many other approaches to managing high-density racks, in-row coolers are used in between racks to provide cold air and minimize local hot spots. This paper describes a computational study being performed by applying in-row coolers for different rack power configuration with and without aisle containment. The power, as well as the number of racks, are varied to study the effect of raised inlet temperature for the IT equipment in a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model developed in 6SigmaRoom with the help of built-in library items. A comparative analysis is also performed for a typical small-sized non-raised facility to investigate the efficacy and limitations of in-row coolers in thermal management of IT equipment with variation in rack heat load and containment. Several other aspects like a parametric study of variable opening areas of duct between racks and in-row coolers, the variation of operating flow rate and failure scenarios are also studied to find proper flow distribution, uniformity of outlet temperature and predict better performance, energy savings and reliability. The results are presented for general guidance for flexible and quick installation and safe operation of in-row coolers to improve thermal efficiency.

Abstract:
The work presented in this paper is an extension of the companion work by the authors on a simplified thermodynamic model for data center optimization, in which a recirculation non-uniformity metric, θ, was introduced and used in a parametric analysis to highlight the deleterious effect of recirculation non-uniformity at the inlet of racks on the data center cooling infrastructure power consumption. In this work, several studies are done using a commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) package to verify many of the assumptions necessary in the development of the simplified model and to understand the degree of recirculation non-uniformity present in typical data center configurations. A number of CFD simulations are used to quantify the ability of the simple model at predicting θ. The results show that the simple model provides a fairly accurate estimate of θ, with a standard deviation in the prediction error of ∼10–15%. The CFD analysis are also to understand the effect of row length and server temperature rise (ΔTs) temperature non-uniformity. The simulations show that reasonable values of θ range from 2–6 for open aisle data centers depending on operating strategy and data center layout. As a means to understand the effect of buoyancy, a data center Archimedes number (Ar), the ratio of buoyancy to inertia forces, is introduced as a function of tile flow rate and server temperature rise. For servers with modest temperature rise (∼ 10.0°C), Ar is ∼0.1; however, for racks with large temperature rise (∼20°C), Ar > 1.0, meaning buoyancy needs to be considered important. Through CFD analysis the significant effect buoyancy has on the inlet rack temperature patterns is highlighted. The Capture Index (ψ), the ratio of cold air ingested by the racks to the required rack flow, is used to investigate its relationship to the ratio of server flow to tile flow (Y), as the inlet rack temperature patterns are changed by increased Ar. The results show that although the rack inlet temperature patterns are extremely different, ψ does not change significantly as a function of Ar. Lastly, the effect of buoyancy on the assumption of linearity of the temperature field is considered for a range of Ar. The results show the emergence of a stratified temperature pattern at the inlet of the racks as Ar increases and buoyancy becomes more important. It is concluded that under these conditions, a δT change in tile temperature does not produce a δT change in temperature everywhere in the field.

Abstract:
The practice of ducting racks to a dropped ceiling or containing entire cold or hot aisles in data centers is being implemented with more frequency in an attempt to improve reliability and efficiency. While CFD and other numerical modeling tools are widely used to optimize data center cooling, they are not particularly effective at modeling containment systems; the performance of such systems is dominated by small and complex leakage paths (e.g., through, around, and under racks), which are difficult or impossible to include in a practical full-scale model. We propose a compact model which uses a flow network to determine airflow rates inside containment systems while the traditional “parent” numerical model continues to handle predictions in the rest of the facility. The two models are coupled at flow boundaries such as where ducting meets a dropped ceiling and leakage paths cross rack surfaces. The compact-model approach has the opportunity to be much faster and more robust than fully-explicit CFD models since leakage path resistances can be established through experimental measurements. We discuss the characterization of rack leakage paths and demonstrate the use of the compact model in a full data center simulation in which the role of parent numerical model is played by a potential flow model.

Abstract:
Spent fuel pool and storage racks are important nuclear security structures and components. In order to prevent it from structural failure, which includes the loss of the structural integrity of the spent fuel pool and stability of the spent fuel storage racks, also includes the possibility of fallen down of storage racks under seismic loading. Besides the necessary static analysis of structures, the influence of seismic loading on the interaction between water and structure should be fully considered, Especially concerned the analysis of the shaking effect of water sloshing on the storage racks, the displacement and the possibility of fallen down of the storage racks. The present paper is concerned with the problem of modeling the fluid-structure interaction (FSI) in filled liquid and filled with spent fuel pool. The study focuses on the sloshing phenomena and on the coupling computational fluid dynamic (CFD) analysis with the finite element stress analysis (FEA) code LS-DYNA. By the results of the response of seismic, such as the displacement of the storage racks, pressure exerted on the plate of racks and the walls of the pool. This paper also evaluates the seismic performance of the structure and the safety margin. Various numerical methods can be used for analysis of liquid storage pools, among these we mention explicit finite element, implicit Lagrangian-Eulerian, hybrid finite element, Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics volume of fluid. In this article the coupled sloshing dynamics in a rectangle pool were studied using a model developed in LS-DYNA environment. The main solution methodology is based on explicit time integration. In order to demonstrate the FSI results of the FEA models of the spent fuel pool on seismic analysis, a 3D FEA models were developed. The Finite element model composed of the spent fuel pool (steel plate concrete), spent fuel storage racks, cushion block, water and air. Solid element modeling is used in concrete, cushion block, water and air. Steel plate and storage racks employ the shell element. The constitutive model of solid element is linear elastic. And the constitutive model of fluid element is described by the Gruneisen equation. Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) formulation is thought of as algorithms that perform automatic rezoning. It realized the advection of water and air in the ALE multi-material group.

Abstract:
President Nixon replaced President Johnson’s War on Poverty with his War on Drugs in 1971. This new drug war was expanded by President Reagan and others to create mass incarceration. The United States currently has a higher percentage of its citizens incarcerated than any other industrial country. Although Blacks are only 13 percent of the population, they are 40 percent of the incarcerated. The literatures on the causes and effects of mass incarceration are largely distinct, and I combine them to show the effects of mass incarceration on racial integration. Racial prejudice produced mass incarceration, and mass incarceration now retards racial integration.
