Abstract:
After augmenting (augmenting) mammoplasty using silicone endoprostheses, various complications often occur, which is confirmed by a large number of publications on this topic. One of the dangerous complications after implantation of a silicone prosthesis that threaten the outcome of the entire surgical intervention is its rejection. This complication can occur both in the early postoperative period and later after the operation. The immediate causes of early rejection of the prosthesis can be hematoma or seroma, less often infection. Later rejection of the prosthesis can occur as a result of i

We have studied the effect of mechanical load and friction on the wear of the male and matrix of ball and beam fixation systems during their mechanical separation. A high level of fixation of cover removable dentures was revealed for 2 years, further maintenance of which can be ensured by replacing matrices. The analysis shows that the beam system significantly outperforms the ball system, due to the minimum loss of linear dimensions and does not require the restoration of the actual patric element.

Oral mucosa atrophy is a widespread phenomenon both in prosthetics and in the maxillofacial pathology, having apoptosis as a fundamental mechanism. Modeling of atrophy processes will allow to study its pathogenesis and optimize therapeutic measures. The aim of the study was to investigate the development of oral mucosa atrophy in an experimental model. The study was performed on 50 Wistar male rats, undergone 37% orthophosphoric acid oral mucosa applications. After 30 seconds’ exposure the defect of the integumentary epithelium was found. 40-second and 45-second exposure additionally provoked

Biotin is a prosthetic group for a number of enzymes involved in carboxylation reactions. Biotin deficiency has been associated with poor growth of integumental tissues by currently unknown mechanisms. Pyruvate carboxylase is a biotin-dependent enzyme which has an important anaplerotic role in intermediary metabolism, catalysing the formation of oxaloacetate from pyruvate and bicarbonate. It thus provides oxaloacetate for gluconeogenesis and replenishes Krebs cycle intermediates. Biotin deficiency may reduce pyruvate carboxylase activity and so oxaloacetate production. Literature data and own observations indicate that the risk of periodontal complications at various stages of dental prosthetics is associated with the clinical and functional state of the periodontal complex. After basic therapy in patients with chronic generalized periodontitis (CGP), an analysis of the clinical and morphofunctional state of the periodontium was performed. Cell differentiation index (CDI) and inflammatory-destructive (VDI) index, as well as the degree of microbial contamination (CIGP) were determined. Abstract Background Transdermal osseointegrated prosthesis have relatively high infection rates leading to implant revision or failure. A principle cause for this complication is the absence of a durable impervious biomechanical seal at the interface of the hard structure (implant) and adjacent soft tissues. This study explores the possibility of recapitulating an analogous cellular musculoskeletal-connective tissue interface, which is present at naturally occurring integumentary tissues where a hard structure exits the skin, such as the nail bed, hoof, and tooth.
