Data management is vital to the running of any organisation, small and large alike. It has been proven time and again, that organisations with poor data management/administration will not survive in this competitive world. Therefore, there is a need for the research world to reconsider the role of data in computing. Enabling technologies should be used to utilise the most effective and efficient access to the data.
