Abstract:
This study offers a view of the development of generative systems with artificial intelligence based on large language models and its analysis in the context of spiritual-theological reflection. It will focus on the current theological reflection of Pope Francis in the document Intelligenza artificiale e pace, but also on the works of contemporary theologians analyzing selected perspectives of this phenomenon. The essay will discuss phenomena such as spiritual accompaniment with artificial intelligence, new forms of individualized Christianity or the relationship to the limits of humanity, inquiry and the understanding of mystery. The study seeks a basic conceptualisation of the topic as a spiritual phenomenon that must be adequately reflected theologically.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Driven by the demand for innovation, design is constantly evolving and is increasingly focused on integrating new technologies into design processes. Technological innovations have proven to be of fundamental importance, both in speeding up and improving production processes and managing and enriching the ideational process. We are now surrounded by software in which the participation of artificial intelligence is constant, but although it has become pervasive, we often do not even notice its presence. In the field of product design, several software exploiting artificial intelligence have been diffused to provide us with virtual products at the two-dimensional level. These software are capable of transforming the ideational stages of a project, as they generate original idea proposals in a matter of minutes. One of the most popular software is Midjourney, which is based on the key text-to-image concept, and can create images from prompts, and descriptive keywords provided by the designer. There are also interesting examples in this regard. Think of the work done by Filippo Nassetti, a British architect and designer, who came up with a series of sunglasses and eyeglasses by going through Midjourney, to obtain zoomorphic-inspired products that recall the textures of biological and mineral microstructures. The surreal collection of biomorphically shaped glasses is an example of the exploration of the creative potential of Midjourney software.Another interesting project is the one tackled by the Oio company for the Spawns spoon collection, in collaboration with Giosanpietro Jewelry. According to Simone Rebaudengo, director and co-founder together with Matteo Loglio of the Oio company, the products in the Spawns collection derive from an ongoing dialogue between different skills that has led to the collaboration between man and algorithm, resulting in an expansion of the handmade, merging the ancient world of craftsmanship with that of advanced technology, defining what they call 'craft intelligence. The paper aims to explore the relationships, potentials and limitations of integrating artificial intelligence into the design process through a design experience that tests the innovative potential of text-to-image software in product ideation and reflects on the redefinition of the designer's role in this rapidly and continuous changing scenario. The case study presented therefore experiments with a design process in which the ideation phase is supported by AI, particularly by text-to-image software, which allows textual descriptions to be translated into visual representations, generating highly detailed images and offering new creative possibilities. The work addressed outlines perspectives and critical issues, which deserve further investigation. On the one hand, one potential that is being outlined is the possibility of visualizing even complex ideas by entrusting the imaginative component to the software, having a multiplicity of alternatives and expanding the ideational range with novel solutions from which to make more informed design choices. Text-to-image software also simulates effective virtual prototyping, allowing a concept to be prefigured and visualized in a three-dimensional context before committing to physical production. On the other hand, text-to-image software has some significant limitations, for example in the poor correspondence of generated images with design intentions and the designer's need to acquire technical skills to effectively use text-to-image software, going on to delineate the possibility of a figure such as that of the prompt designer. Therefore, the presented project aims to contribute to the contemporary debate on the integration of AI into design processes with the collaboration of text-to-image software as another avenue for innovation in product design. The scenario sketched out defines an area in which the role of the designer and human creativities proves irreplaceable, leaving one to understand how more and more a process of understanding and collaboration with AI technologies is needed, and how the skills required of future designers are going to vary and expand.Nozaki, N., Konno, E., Sato, M., Sakairi, M., Shibuya, T., Kanazawa, Y., & Georgescu, S., 2017, Application of artificial intelligence technology in product design. Abstract:
Artificial intelligence is a field of technology that is developing intensively. Along with the development of artificial intelligence, the issue of its patent protection has become topical. Artificial intelligence systems are based on highly developed algorithms and mathematical models, phenomena with which patent law is traditionally in conflict. This issue is not just a national or European problem. There is also an intensive debate in the United States about the patentability of artificially intelligent systems. The author deals with the question of whether artificially intelligent systems can enjoy patent protection. The paper analyzes the case of "DABUS" which refers to an international patent application in which the artificially intelligent system DABUS is listed as the inventor. Numerous intellectual property offices around the world (eg American, British, German, Australian, EPO) have rejected such a patent application. On the other hand, the Federal Court of Australia has ruled that under the Australian Patent Act AI could be listed as the inventor. Recognition of AI as the inventor (not the owner) of inventions generated by artificial intelligence can have certain consequences, including in the field of copyright.

Abstract:
Studying the behaviour of engineering systems and processes from the perspective of applications of artificial intelligence provides an invaluable reference to improve their productivity and industrial development at large. This study comprehensively unveiled the problems faced by engineering systems and how artificial intelligence could be deployed as a technique for the future advancement of the industry. A brief background of the application of artificial intelligence in some selected engineering fields revealed that insufficient operational and process data from both plants and processes are major problems causing the survival of sustainable intelligent systems thereby, leading to incessant system failure. Furthermore, it was equally discovered that artificial intelligent for specific application are based on the data obtained from such application. Thus, there is no universally agreed artificial intelligent for a specific application. This made it a bit complex in developing intelligent systems. Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) seeks to bring intelligent behavior for machines by using specific techniques. These techniques can be employed in order to solve tasks, such as planning paths or controlling intelligent agents. Some tasks that use AI techniques are not trivially testable, since it can handle a high number of variables depending on their complexity. As digital games can provide a wide range of variables, they become an efficient and economical means for testing artificial intelligence techniques. In this paper, we propose a combination of a behavior tree and a Pathfinding algorithm to solve a maze-based problem using the digital game Bomberman of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) platform. We perform an analysis of the AI techniques in order to verify the feasibility of future experiments in similar complex environments. Our experiments show that our intelligent agent can be successfully implemented using the proposed approach.

Abstract:
There were two projects at the National Defence University of Finland (NDU), which both ended by the end of 2022. One of them tried to find the answers to the main question: How artificial intelligence (AI) could be used to improve learning, teaching, and planning? The other tried to find the answer to the main question: What new skills do officers need when artificial intelligence is coming? We did literature reviews and found out that intelligent technology combined with data analytics can offer several improvements to traditional classroom teaching. From literature reviews, we also found some new skills that officers might need to be able to handle AI- based technologies. This is a position paper presenting the arguable opinions of the writers. We have found lots of benefits that the use of intelligent learning technology can bring, mainly by supporting individual learning paths. There is also an obvious need for AI officers who should have a deeper understanding of the AI-supported technology than normal officers. This project and some other similar projects have raised a lot of discussions, one seminar series about artificial intelligence and we do have some trained AI officers as well. Abstract:
Socially intelligent artificial agents have recently shown some evidence of improving team performance when advising human teammates during the execution of time-pressured, complex missions. These agents, imbued with a form of social intelligence supported by Artificial Theory of Mind, have also demonstrated some negative outcomes associated with their approaches to delivering advice and motivating teammates to succeed. Here, we closely examine team performance outcomes associated with a simulated team Urban Search and Rescue mission in the context of interventions delivered by artificial socially intelligent agents that served as advisors to the human teammates engaged in task execution. The task studied here required some individual taskwork effectiveness as well as a notable amount of interdependent teamwork coordination. The interdependent activities provided the advising artificially intelligent teammates an opportunity to observe and intervene to improve aspects of team process. Some of the interventions delivered by the socially intelligent agents were found to positively impact performance, notably those that targeted objective data and the dissemination of information to the right individual at appropriate timepoints; however, other interventions negatively impacted team outcomes. Results showed that Motivation interventions aimed solely at bolstering the motivation of team members did not yield positive outcomes; in fact, they were found to have adverse effects on overall team performance and task execution.
