Abstract Inter-regional interaction in relation to the development of growth centres will be useful in seeing the development of a region in the future. This is because the development of a region is inseparable from the existence of growth centres that function as the starting point of regional development. The development of growth centres and their interactions can stimulate land use development, supporting infrastructure development, and future regional development. Abstract:
Advanced air mobility (AAM) is a nascent market within the aviation sector of Illinois’ transportation system, promising enhanced movement of people and cargo to previously inaccessible or underserved locations. This project addresses AAM’s prospects and impacts in the state. The research encompasses several tasks, starting with an examination of the current and projected state of the AAM industry, including pertinent regulations, technology advancements, and key industry players. Abstract:
The present paper sets out trends in the functional income distribution implied by countries’ integration in Global Value Chains (GVCs), taking account also of interregional interactions (South-South and North-South). Through the application of an innovative input-output methodology, it quantifies inter-country differences in functional income distribution by means of a novel indicator to estimate the distributive profile associated with domestic vis-à-vis international specialization. Abstract:
The study of competitiveness has long been constrained by traditional trade analyses, which focus on inter-industry flows between countries while overlooking the intricate interconnectedness of supply chains. This position paper advocates for the use of digital twin technology to replicate complex economic systems, enabling the modeling of firm-to-firm interactions and uncovering the micro-level impacts of macroeconomic phenomena. We present an integrated analytical framework to analyze the bi-national Great Lakes-St. Lawrence (GLSL) region, spanning Canada and the United States. The creation

Genome editing tools have promised tremendous opportunities in agriculture for breeding crops and livestock across the food supply chain. Potentially addressing issues associated with a growing global population, sustainability concerns, and possibly helping address the effects of climate change (Kuiken, Barrangou, and Grieger 2021). These promises come alongside environmental, cultural, and socio-economic risks. Including concerns that governance systems are not keeping pace with technological developments and are ill-equipped, or not well suited to evaluate risks new genome editing tools may
