Abstract:
This research is a development that aims to develop mathematical learning media in the form ofan interactive CD. Interactive CD is supporting learning to improve problem solving ability juniorhigh school students. Development of interactive CD using 4D model was modified. Results of theexpert validation assessment showed interactive CD on the very good category with an averagescore of 4.23 out of a maximum range 5. Test the practicality of interactive CD shown by thepositive responses from teachers and students. Results showed that the effectiveness of interactiveCD has effective in improving problem solving abilities. This was demonstrated by the averageproblem solving ability of students that used interactive CD has achieved mastery of individualand classical. In addition, the average problem solving ability of students to use interactive CDwas better that not using interactive CD.

Abstract:
The Department of Geography at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is developing a research oriented, visual database of North American Indian maps on a CD-ROM. This project is funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Division of Research Programs. The CD-ROM will contain maps, extensive descriptions, and catalog information about the maps. The digital maps and text will be linked through a hypermedia interface. This archival database is intended to function as a research tool for scholars studying the cartography, landscape perception, cognition, art, and history of Native Americans. This paper presents an overview of the project, a brief discussion of the technology used, sample images and data

The interactive orthogonal design was employed to investigate the aerodynamic drag coefficient (CD) of hatchback car by using CFD methods. And the effects of back windshield angle, diffuser angle, front windshield angle, hood angle, side windshield angle and tail length were discussed. The results indicates that back windshield angle, diffuser angle and their interaction, hood angle and front windshield angle have notable effect on the CD of the model, while other parameters and interactions have no notable effect. The best CD conditions are: back windshield angle 20°/60°, diffuser angle 12°, front windshield angle 30°, hood angle 15° and tail length 4300mm.

Abstract:
Cadmium (Cd) is one of the prominent environmental hazards, affecting plant productivity and posing human health risks worldwide. Although salicylic acid (SA) and nitric oxide (NO) are known to have stress mitigating roles, little was explored on how they work together against Cd-toxicity in rice. This study evaluated the individual and combined effects of SA and sodium nitroprusside (SNP), a precursor of NO, on Cd-stress tolerance in rice. Results revealed that Cd at toxic concentrations caused rice biomass reduction, which was linked to enhanced accumulation of Cd in roots and leaves, reduced photosynthetic pigment contents, and decreased leaf water status. Cd also potentiated its phytotoxicity by triggering reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and depleting several non-enzymatic and enzymatic components in rice leaves. In contrast, SA and/or SNP supplementation with Cd resulted in growth recovery, as evidenced by greater biomass content, improved leaf water content, and protection of photosynthetic pigments. These signaling molecules were particularly effective in restricting Cd uptake and accumulation, with the highest effect being observed in “SA + SNP + Cd” plants. SA and/or SNP alleviated Cd-induced oxidative damage by reducing ROS accumulation and malondialdehyde production through the maintenance of ascorbate and glutathione levels, and redox status, as well as the better activities of antioxidant enzymes superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione S-transferase, and monodehydroascorbate reductase. Combined effects of SA and SNP were observed to be more prominent in Cd-stress mitigation than the individual effects of SA followed by that of SNP, suggesting that SA and NO in combination more efficiently boosted physiological and biochemical responses to alleviate Cd-toxicity than either SA or NO alone. This finding signifies a cooperative action of SA and NO in mitigating Cd-induced adverse effects in rice, and perhaps in other crop plants.

Abstract:
Spoon-feeding technique is still used by some lecturers in teaching Grammar. In spite of the role of lecturer as the provider of knowledge, the students need to actively participate either inside or outside of the classroom. Transferring valuable knowledge becomes simpler by providing the product of multimedia consisting texts, graphics, photographs, sound, video, animation. The students have many opportunities to learn tenses from the product of multimedia independently without lecturer presence. Thus, this research is aimed at developing multimedia through interactive CD based macromedia flash in learning three tenses particularly Simple Future Tense, Future Continuous Tense, and Past Continuous Tense. This study is Research and Development. The subject of this research is the first semester students of English Education Department who take Grammar I. The steps of development are defining, developing, and evaluating multimedia. The findings of the research show that the software quality of multimedia is fairgood based on the judgement of subject expert, media expert, and the first semester students who take Grammar I.This product(Interactive Compact Disk) meets the teaching objectives of Grammar I subject.
