Abstract:
A map is one of the cartographic scientific products that is used as a guide to access locations or places. The use of information technology and computer systems in cartography can increase the value of map products to be interactive and can be accessed online via the internet. This interactive map of the Unsyiah Director Office building is the development of an interactive map product of the author with the addition of an animated pathway from the reference point to the location point. These are exciting days for cartography, as emerging technologies have greatly expanded the possibilities of online, interactive maps. These developments, however, now require cartographers to think about issues that only a few years ago fell solely in the domains of human-computer interaction (HCI) and web design. Further, given how fast these changes have occurred, there are few tried-and-true guidelines for building digital maps. Abstract:
The thesis deals with the problem of constructing an interactive, visual browser for a large database of geographic data. Results are presented from work in two areas: one area is that of graphical user interfaces, the other is the structuring of a geographic database for rapid retrieval of information for interactive display. The design is discussed of a user interface for a map browsing system. Proposals are then made about how a map database should appear to the user, and the functions that a map browsing system should provide. Observations are made about user interface systems in general.

Network Rendering is an important problem in computer graphics and visualization applications. Reduction of the data needed for transmission over the network can greatly improve the performance. Many methods, such as mesh simplification, image tiling, level of detail and user action prediction, have been developed to solve this problem.. In this thesis, a new approach tackling the problem has been explored. A textured depth map (called Terrain Instance Map, TIM) based on re-projection method is introduced to render highly detailed terrain models. TIMs are created by a rendering server
