Abstract:
В статье исследуется проблема использования понятий «межрегиональные взаимодействия», «межрегиональное сотрудничество», «межрегиональные связи» и «межрегиональные отношения». С точки зрения автора разграничение вышеуказанных понятий, придание их соотношениям определенного схематического и структурного вида, определение их иерархичности, взаимосвязи и взаимовлияния позволит в дальнейшем облегчить описание в экономических дисциплинах определенных процессов, протекающих в жизнедеятельности регионов в рамках их сотрудничества с другими субъектами. The article analyzes the existing formulations of the concept “interregional interaction”. Currently, the relevance of inter-regional interactions studies has received a new impulse, but until today there is no definite and clear formulation of “inter-regional interactions” concept. Due to it, there is a problem of law enforcement of this definition in conducting researches with-in the frame of interregional relationships. As a result, in this article, the invested semantic loads in the phrase “interregional interaction”, the consistency and accuracy of this definition usage in the study of socio-economic characteristics in the frame of interregional interaction are explored. In fact, at this stage of the researches, different authors have different points of view and different approaches in the usage of such concepts as inter-regional cooperation, interregional relations and interregional contacts. In that context, appears the question: is it correct men-tioned above formulations regard as synonyms? Are they de-pendent or independent of each other, consistent or inconsistent with common features and properties? Do they refer to one cate-gory or each of these concepts has its own distinctive features and carries out a separate semantic load? What allows us to say that these concepts are different and should not be used in any way as interchangeable definitions? As a result of the studies, comparison and study of various interpretations and approaches to the con-cept of “interregional interaction”, the author’s view is introduced into the relationship and interrela-tion of interregional interaction with the concepts of “interregional cooperation”, “interregional con-tacts” and “interregional relations”. Their conditionality and validity of the application in the descrip-tion of certain socio-economic relations between regions are considered. From the point of view of the author, the distinction between the above concepts, giving them a certain schematic and structural rela-tionship, determining their hierarchy and interaction will further facilitate the understanding of certain processes occurring in the daily and future life of the regions as part of their cooperation. Based on the review and analysis, the author introduces the wording of the notion “interregional interaction”.

Abstract:
AbstractThe Oligocene strata of the Qom Formation from the Tajar-Kuh section, Central Iran, are rich in various Larger Benthic Foraminifera (LBF). Morphometric studies of the internal features of the LBF tests were carried out based on matrix-free specimens from seven samples. The LBF assemblage studied in 24 populations mainly contains representatives of two nummulitid (the reticulate Nummulites bormidiensis Tellini, 1888, only in the lower three samples, and the radiate Nummulites kecskemetii Less, 1991 in all samples) and of two lepidocyclinid lineages. Of the latter, Nephrolepidina praemarginata (R. Douvillé, 1908) occurs in all the samples, whereas Eulepidina formosoides H. Douvillé, 1925 is present in the lower six samples. In the upper sample, the slightly more advanced Eulepidina ex. interc. formosoides H. Douvillé, 1925 et dilatata (Michelotti, 1861) is recorded. Due to the very similar taxonomic composition of the Tajar-Kuh section with their coeval faunas of the Mediterranean, the age was evaluated in the frame of the Western Tethyan Oligo-Miocene shallow benthic zonation (SBZ). Although the presence of E. formosoides suggests late Rupelian (SBZ 22A Zone) age, the occurrence of Heterostegina assilinoides, N. kecskemetii, N. bormidiensis, and Planolinderina sp. preferably represents the SBZ 22B Zone of the early Chattian. Based on the obtained results, at least the lower six samples can indicate the very basal part of the Chattian. More advanced Eulepidina from the uppermost sample suggests a slightly younger but still early Chattian age.

Diante das transformações tecnológicas que marcam a sociedade atual, o jornalismo e a imprensa têm sofrido visíveis modificações ao longo dos últimos anos. Não só a forma de produzir notícias e reportagens se modificou, mas, principalmente, o consumo desses textos também não ocorre da mesma forma, nas mesmas plataformas. Há tempos se discute a possível “morte” do jornalismo impresso nesse cenário, mas o fato é que ainda há publicações impressas circulando. Assim, levanta-se o seguinte questionamento: em que medida o conteúdo jornalístico tem se transformado? Pode-se dizer a valorização da reportagem – em detrimento da notícia factual, de oferta abundante nos meios digitais – tem se mostrado como uma saída para renovação e/ou sobrevivência do jornalismo impresso? Esses questionamentos são o ponto de partida a partir do qual se desenvolve a presente pesquisa, que objetiva investigar as permanências ou transformações nos gêneros jornalísticos de um jornal impresso. Tendo como base teórica o pensamento de autores como Bakhtin (2011), Marcuschi (2008) analisam-se edições do jornal O Paraná, dos anos de 2019 e 2009. Com a comparação das edições, pode-se concluir que a reportagem está mais presente nos exemplares mais atuais, que valorizam o aspecto local e focalizam questões referentes a cenários atuais e preocupantes em vez da abordagem de fatos pontuais.REFERÊNCIASBAKHTIN, Mikhail. SummaryObjectives: To (i) compare agreement of the common tangent (CT) and tibial plateau angle (TP) methods in terms of measuring the patellar tendon angle (PTA) and required advancement and (ii) determine the intraand inter-observer reliability of observers who measured PTA and the advancement.Methods: Six observers were divided into three groups based on their level of experience. They measured the PTA and the required advancement on 43 radiographic images of the tibiae of dogs affected by cranial cruciate ligament rupture. Each observer repeated the measurements three times with each method. The inter-technique (interT), intra-observer (intraO), and interobserver (interO) reliabilities were evaluated, assessed by calculating the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), and represented by Jones plots.Results: The agreement between PTA-CT and PTA-TP was low (the ICC interT values ranged from 0.11 to 0.4). The PTA-CT was associated with moderate intra-observer reliability (ICC intraO, CT = 0.61) and poor interobserver reliability (ICC interO, CT = 0.33). The PTA-TP was associated with good intra-observer reliability (ICC intraO, TP = 0.75) and moderate interobserver reliability (ICC interO, TP = 0.59). Interobserver reliability did not depend on the level of experience. The advancement measurements were associated with reliability results similar to those obtained for PTA. Jones’ plots showed that the CT method consistently yielded lower PTA and advancement values than the TP method.Conclusion: Given its poor reliability, the CT method is not recommended.

Pesquisas no campo da pragmática trans/intercultural (cross-cultural Pragmatics) apontam que um aprendiz com um alto nível de proficiência gramatical não necessariamente apresentará um desenvolvimento pragmático equivalente. Thomas (1983) nos alerta quanto à seriedade da falha pragmática ao afirmar que um falante que faz uso de princípios pragmáticos diferentes de uma dada comunidade pode ser rotulado de estar se comportando mal, de estar sendo desonesto, dissimulado ou falso. Com o objetivo de contribuir para o estudo de aspectos pragmáticos no contexto de ensino de língua inglesa no Brasil nossa pesquisa dedicou-se à realização de um estudo contrastivo. A realização de um estudo contrastivo como o nosso se justifica no fato de que muitos estudantes de língua inglesa têm o desejo de visitar um país cuja língua nativa é o inglês e ou estudar em um país cuja língua nativa é o inglês; assim sendo, acreditamos que é parte da responsabilidade dos professores de inglês abordar em sala de aula não apenas aspectos esttruturais, mas também aspectos pragmáticos da língua alvo. Nosso estudo compara e descreve o uso de estratégias de polidez linguística na realização do ato de fala aconselhar por dois grupos de falantes de inglês, um nativo e outro não nativo, em uma mesma situação. Ambos os grupos foram compostos por 15 indivíduos com idades entre 22 e 58, de ambos os sexos 7 homens e 8 mulheres. Os nativos participantes da pesquisa são de nacionalidade americana e o grupo de não-nativos são brasileiros sem experiência em país de língua inglesa. Nossa pesquisa fundamenta-se na teoria dos atos de fala (AUSTIN, 1962; SEARLE, 1969, 1975) e na teoria da polidez (BROWN E LEVINSON, 1987). Nossa pesquisa parte da hipótese de que, ao realizar o ato de fala aconselhar os falantes não nativos são mais diretos, apresentando um discurso menos atenuado em comparação ao discurso dos nativos. Para a análise dos dados foi utilizada a Taxonomia proposta por Martinez-Flor (2005) em conjunto com as estratégias de polidez positiva e negativa de Brown e Levinson (1987). Os resultados sugerem que, em comparação com falantes nativos, o uso de estratégias por falantes não-nativos é menos diversificado.

Para tanto, observa os estudantes estrangeiros em programas de interc?mbio no campus da Pontif?cia Universidade Cat?lica do Rio Grande do Sul. O estudo define o conceito de estere?tipo e explicita seu papel na comunica??o intercultural; verifica sua relev?ncia na constru??o das narrativas entre culturas; e procura explicar de que forma a cultura e o processo cognitivo influenciam na produ??o do estere?tipo. Deseja tamb?m avaliar a percep??o dos interlocutores em rela??o ao estere?tipo na comunica??o entre culturas. Para tanto, utilizou-se do conceito de sociedade l?quida de Zygmunt Bauman para explicar em qual contexto s?cio-cultural estamos inseridos, realizando uma analogia com o conceito de supercr?tico advindo da engenharia. This dissertation presents regional economic co-operation as a facilitator for the development of energy governance strategies, focusing Brazil???s regional insertion in the continent???s Southern cone. The main goal of this Masters level dissertation is to analyse the practices made by Nordic???s model of electricity production & commercialisation (Nord Pool), establishing a paradigm between Brazil???s model in force and the interaction possibilities with Brazil???s neighbouring countries. The feasible strategies for the creation of optimal environments, the influence of economic co-operation in the negotiations carried on by South American countries and the guidelines of energy governance will also be analysed for the growth at the electricity supply levels (energy security), regional development and social welfare.
Esta disserta????o apresentou o tema da coopera????o econ??mica regional como facilitador para a elabora????o das estrat??gias de governan??a energ??tica que visa ?? inser????o regional do Brasil no Cone Sul. Teve-se por objetivo estudar as pr??ticas do modelo n??rdico de produ????o e comercializa????o de energia el??trica, denominado Nord Pool, na tentativa de ser estabelecida uma alternativa para o desenvolvimento do setor el??trico brasileiro que se encontra em estado cr??tico. De fato, o Brasil n??o ?? autossuficiente no que diz respeito ?? produ????o energia el??trica. Foram comentados os acordos eletroenerg??ticos j?? existentes e as possibilidades de integra????o regional com os pa??ses cont??guos ao Brasil, que permitem a concilia????o do desenvolvimento econ??mico com a preserva????o dos recursos naturais, por meio dos instrumentos de pol??tica governamental. This dissertation sought to analyze the global citizenship development process of students from Rio Grande do Sul who participated in the Science without Borders Program and chose China as destination for the exchange experience. Data analyzed for the study was collected via the distribution of a questionnaire to former Program participants, which elicited twenty responses, and through in-depth interviews conducted with four undergraduate students from Rio Grande do Sul. This study, in particular, sought to draw a correlation between academic mobility and the development of global citizenship. The experiences of the students were diverse: with participants detailing both insights gained about China and its people as a result of the Program, as well as a variety of personal developments. Whilst students identified some flaws with the Science without Borders Program, they emphasized a number of key practical benefits, including an improved proficiency in their chosen language and an enhanced understanding of their recipient country. Students also more generally noted a deepened understanding of and respect for cultural diversity and cultural differences, a broadened world view, and an elevated sense of independence and self-confidence. Above all, research revealed a strong correlation between the experience of academic mobility and the students? development of global citizenship.
Esta disserta??o buscou analisar os processos formadores que estudantes do Rio Grande do Sul viveram ao participarem do Programa Ci?ncia sem Fronteiras num pa?s como a China. Com base nos dados coletados por meio de um question?rio (vinte respostas) e de quatro entrevistas com estudantes do Rio Grande do Sul que realizaram o interc?mbio na China, a presente pesquisa analisou as experi?ncias desses participantes ga?chos em suas estadas na China via Programa CsF e revelou certas correla??es entre a mobilidade acad?mica com a forma??o da cidadania global para esses estudantes. As experi?ncias foram diversas e com muitos descobrimentos sobre o pa?s oriental e seu povo. O crescimento pessoal dos pr?prios participantes brasileiros foi um forte destaque encontrado nos relatos. Embora o CsF tenha sido criticado, de acordo com os relatos desses participantes entrevistados, a realiza??o desse interc?mbio aprimorou a sua compet?ncia lingu?stica, auxiliou o entendimento e respeito ? diversidade e ? diferen?a cultural. O conhecimento sobre o pa?s destinat?rio, ampliou a vis?o do mundo, fortaleceu a independ?ncia e aumentou a autoconfian?a para vencer seus medos. Desse modo, ? poss?vel afirmar que as experi?ncias vivenciadas no exterior possibilitaram a forma??o da cidadania global desses estudantes.

Os Par?metros Curriculares Nacionais de L?ngua Estrangeira orientam para um ensino de l?nguas que tenha como objetivo a comunica??o lingu?stica e intercultural de modo a contribuir com a forma??o reflexiva dos alunos. Com esse fim foi realizado um Interc?mbio Virtual unindo lugares t?o distantes como C?rdoba, na Argentina, e Natal no Brasil, entre alunos de Ensino M?dio de dois col?gios de C?rdoba e um de Natal, atrav?s da plataforma Moodle e do Facebook. O interc?mbio teve sua origem nas diretrizes da Intercompreens?o em L?nguas Rom?nicas (IC), no caso entre o portugu?s e o espanhol, no qual cada aluno se comunica na sua pr?pria l?ngua e faz um esfor?o para entender a do outro em um processo colaborativo que transcende os limites do puramente lingu?stico, fazendo com que o aluno perceba a sua realidade perante a diferen?a. Este estudo qualitativo de cunho etnogr?fico busca conhecer em que medida a aplica??o de projetos diferenciados aumenta o interesse dos alunos pela l?ngua estudada. Procuramos, tamb?m, desenvolver a compet?ncia intercultural de nossos jovens e promover o respeito por culturas diferentes. Em se tratando de alunos argentinos e brasileiros, tentamos promover uma reflex?o sobre as representa??es sociais e procurando destruir estere?tipos existentes entre as duas sociedades. Como recursos metodol?gicos, utilizamos entrevistas, question?rios e atividades de intercompreens?o durante o projeto, al?m da observa??o participante das intera??es entre os alunos de ambos os pa?ses. The official documents that guide the teaching and learning process of a Foreign Language in Brazil, Par?metros Curriculares Nacionais de L?ngua Estrangeira, suggest a linguistic and intercultural communication as the main objective of teaching a foreign language inorderto contribute withareflexive formation of the students.Toachieve this goal, a Virtual Interchange was realized connecting distant places like C?rdoba, in Argentina, and Natal in Brazil, between High School students through Moodle platform and Facebook. The Interchange is based in the Intercomprehension in Romance Languages(IC) guidelines, inthiscase between Portuguese and Spanish, according to which every student speaks their own language and makes an effort to comprehend the others througha collaborative process thatgo es beyond the limits of mere linguistic objectives and favors the students? reality acceptance before the diversity. This qualitative study with thno graphic characteristic stries to know whe ther differentiate projects can increase students? interest to learn the target language. It was also set as an aim of this study to develop the intercultural competence of our students and foster the respect for different cultures. In the case of Argentinian and Brazilian students, wetried to promote reflection about social representation trying to destroy stereotypes between both groups. As methodological resources, we used interviews, questionnaires and intercomprehension activities during the Project, as well as a participant observation of the interactions betweenthe students of both countries.Webe lieve tobe contributing towards the integral formation ofth student asacriticalcitizenthatthinksa bouttheir posture before the world, which is one of the formal education aims according to Par?metros Curriculares Nacionais. Our theoretical foundation is based on Intercomprehension in Romance Languages (IC) as a plurilingualism didactics, (JAMET AND SPI?? 2010; ARA?JO AND S? et al., 2003; CAPUCHO, 2010; ANDRADE etal.,2003), some the oriesaboutinter culturalisman didentity(Vallespir, 1999;DUARTE&SANCHES,2004; REVUZ,1998;SILVA,2000;CHAU?2006; SERRANI-INFANTE 1998), motivation and second language learning (DECI & RYAN, 1985; D?RNYEI AND OTT?, 1998; D?RNYEI, 2000, 2001; 2011) and Significant Learning Theory (AUSUBEL, 1968). The results show an increase of students? motivation when in contact with the target language through dynamic activities in an IC context. Moreover, we noticed that a deeper thinking aboutthe Argentinian culture helped to deconstruct previous cultural representation.

En av de första frågorna en arbetsgivare kan möta i rekryteringsprocesser är huruvida man ska befordra någon internt eller om man ska rekrytera ledningsbefattningar externt. Det är en fråga som sätter tonen och inriktningen på hela rekryteringsprocessen. Dessa processer påverkar och påverkas av olika faktorer, som till exempel önskade egenskaper, organisationskultur och medarbetares attityder mot ledningsbefattningar. Tidigare forskning kring rekrytering visar att det finns områden inom detta som organisationer behöver kunskap om. Den tidigare forskningen ger en bild av var forskningen ligger och att det saknas studier om hur organisationskultur påverkar rekryteringar. Syftet med denna studie är att bidra med djupare förståelse kring hur Uppsala universitets kollegiala rekryteringsformer påverkar medarbetare och hur vilken rekryteringsform påverkar önskade egenskaper i ledningskandidater och vilka attityder man har till dem. Studiens två frågeställningar besvaras med hjälp av Bourdieus kapital- och fältteori och visar att arbetsplatsen på olika sätt påverkas av intern- och externrekrytering. Fokus har varit på Uppsala universitet då organisationen presenterar egenartade rekryteringsprocesser inom akademiska kärnverksamheten och förvaltningen. Genom 10 stycken kvalitativa intervjuer har data från prefekter, avdelningschefer, samt deras medarbetare inhämtats och kodats. Resultatet visar att det kollegiala systemet som finns inom universitetsvärlden har starka effekter på rekryteringsprocesser och att deras samverkan präglar förväntade egenskaper, attityder och kultur. Avslutningsvis presenteras vilken framtida forskning som kan härledas.

Både logistiken och detaljhandeln har under de senaste årtiondena haft en kraftig utveckling. För detaljhandeln har logistiken en allt mer växande betydelse, då de med rätt logistik kan korta sina ledtider, enklare ge kunderna de varor de önskar och vid rätt tidpunkter. Den interna logistiken syftar på de logistikaktiviteter som utförs inom detaljhandelsföretagen, d.v.s. de aktiviteter som får det interna varuflödet att fungera. Ett vanligt problem hos detaljhandelsföretag är ”slut i hyllan”. Orsaker till detta kan vara brister i inköp och logistik, bristande rutiner i butiken eller fel i leveranser och varuflöden. Det krävs således att detaljhandelsföretagen arbetar med sin logistik och skapar ett effektivt internt varuflöde för att kunna tillfredställa behovet utav varor ute i butik.

Syftet med denna studie är att kartlägga det interna varuflödet i ett detaljhandelsföretag och att undersöka vilka faktorer som är de viktigaste för ett effektivt internt varuflöde. Vidare är syftet att ge förslag till hur det interna varuflödet kan effektiviseras.

En kvalitativ undersökningsmetod har använts där en fallstudie genomförts på Gekås Ullared. Personer från olika delar utav företaget har intervjuats genom öppna individuella intervjuer. Dessa intervjuer har även kombinerats med observationer.

Efter att ha fullföljt studien har vi kommit fram till vilka faktorer som är de viktigaste för ett effektivt internt varuflöde i detaljhandelsföretag, nämligen informationssystem, inköpsavdelningens påverkandegrad och arbete, förpackningar, lagrets layout och utrustning, lagerpersonalens arbete och interna transporter. Vid studerandet utav de olika faktorerna har vi även kunnat se att de har en inbördes påverkan, vilket vi har utvecklat en modell för. Genom att detaljhandelsföretag kontinuerligt arbetar med och utvecklar de sex faktorerna kan ett effektivt internt varuflöde skapas.

O controlo interno e o controlo externo são mecanismos de controlo bastante importantes quer no setor privado quer no setor público. O controlo interno é um processo colocado em prática pelos órgãos de gestão das organizações com o intuito de garantir o alcance dos seus objetivos e evitar erros e fraudes. Por outro lado, o controlo externo é um processo realizado por órgãos ou auditor independente que tem como principais objetivos validar e certificar o controlo interno e garantir que a informação financeira está de acordo com os regulamentos e leis aplicáveis. Este estudo pretende, através de uma pesquisa teórica, exploratória e qualitativa, alcançar um conhecimento mais aprofundado da relação existente entre controlo interno e controlo externo. Mais especificamente, pretende-se perceber que impacto tem o controlo interno sobre o controlo externo. Os resultados da pesquisa efetuada indicam que existe uma relação de complementaridade e cooperação entre controlo interno e controlo externo, defendida a nível teórico por diversos autores e pelas principais instituições de supervisão e fiscalização de ambos os setores. Esta cooperação é defendida devido à necessidade que existe de diminuir a duplicação dos esforços e os custos. É possível verificar que nesta relação de cooperação entre controlo interno e controlo externo é amplamente defendida a utilização da informação proveniente do controlo interno por parte do auditor independente – principal figura do controlo externo, sendo que existem vários procedimentos que facilitam a verificação e validação dessa informação, que está, por natureza, intimamente ligada aos órgãos de gestão, uma vez que são estes os principais responsáveis pela implementação e verificação do controlo interno nas organizações. Finalmente, ressalva-se a importância da manutenção da independência do auditor externo como característica fundamental na execução do controlo externo das entidades. Para que essa independência continue a existir defende-se a utilização do controlo interno como um complemento e não como um substituo do trabalho do auditor independente.
The internal and the external control are mechanisms of control very important both in the private and public sector. Internal control is considered a process put into practice by managements of organizations in order to achieve their objectives and to avoid errors and fraud. On the other hand, the external control is a process conducted by an independent auditor or supreme audit institutions with the objective of validate and certificate the internal control and to ensure that financial information is in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. This study aims, through a theoretical, exploratory and qualitative research, to achieve a deeper understanding of the relationship between internal and external control. More specifically, we intend to explore the impact that the internal control has on the external control. The results of the present study indicate that there is a relationship of complementarily and cooperation between internal and external control. This is defended at a theoretical level by several authors and by the main institutions of oversight and supervision of both sectors. This cooperation is defended taking into account the necessity that exists to reduce duplication of efforts and costs with procedures. However, not only the internal control has an impact on the external control. The external control has also an influence on internal control. It was found that in this cooperative relationship between internal and external control is widely defended the use of information from the internal control by the independent auditor - main figure of the external control, and for this purpose there are several procedures that tend to facilitate the verification and validation of this information that is, by nature, closely linked to the management, since managements are the main responsible for the implementation and verification of internal control in organizations. Finally, it is emphasized the importance of maintaining the independence of the external auditor as a key feature in the implementation of the external control in organizations. To maintain this independence it is defended the use of internal control as a complement and not as a substitute to the work of the independent auditor.

Abstract:
Risk is a crucial criterion for decision making among multiple stakeholders negotiating for an agreement in a distributed environment. The challenge here is that risk may have different meanings and implications to different stakeholders, and this creates considerable barriers to effective negotiation and coordination in collaborative design. Our goal is to 1) capture the heterogeneous risk information at intra- and inter- stakeholder levels, 2) represent them using a uniform structure based on a function-failure relationship, and 3) enable the negotiation of the risk information among the multiple stakeholders through this uniform structure. Though a significant number of existing methods for risk analysis and management have been developed, these methods mainly focus on the local domain of a certain single stakeholder, and few have considered the possible influence and variations related to global aspects that is important for negotiation among multiple, distributed stakeholders. This work develops intra-level risk property tables to capture and represent the various risk evaluations from individual members in a single stakeholder; and then inter-level risk property tables are formed based on the synthesis of the various intra-level risk properties into a group representation for the single stakeholder, which is directly used in global negotiation and coordination with other stakeholders. An adjustable approach is used in our work to enable the adjustability of the intra- and inter- level risk evaluations via negotiation. An example problem from a NSF/NEES-sponsored research collaborative network is used to demonstrate the use of this method. The preliminary results show that this method has potential in enabling local risk assessment to support global negotiation and coordination in a distributed, collaborative environment.

Abstract:
Abstract The paper describes a Qualitative Evaluation System developed using a fuzzy expert system. The evaluation system gives a qualitative rating to design solutions by considering manufacturability aspects, choice of materials and some special preferences. The information is used in decision support for engineering design. The system is an integrated part of a decision support tool for engineering design called the ‘Adaptive Search Manager’ (ASM). ASM uses an adaptive search technique to identify multiple design solutions for a 12 dimensional Turbine Blade Cooling System design problem. Thus the task has been to develop a fuzzy expert system that can qualitatively evaluate any design solution from a design space using a realistically small number of fuzzy rules. The developed system utilises a knowledge separation and then a knowledge integration technique. The design knowledge is first separated into three categories: inter variable knowledge, intra variable knowledge and heuristics. Inter variable knowledge and intra variable knowledge are integrated using a concept of “compromise”. The qualitative evaluation system can evaluate any design solution within the 12 dimensional design space, but uses only 44 fuzzy rules and one function that implements the inter variable knowledge.

Abstract This study provides an inter-unit common cause failure (CCF) analysis method utilizing the international CCF database. The inter-unit CCF is one of the possible major risks at a site with multiple units. The conventional CCF analysis is based on the CCF database, in which inter-unit CCF events rarely occur in real nuclear power plants. The conventional approach cannot be directly applied to inter-unit CCF cases because of the lack of data. The method ignores the asymmetricity among units, so it may lead to overly conservative outcomes if it is applied to inter-unit CCF. We have proposed a new concept, “commonality factor,” which represents the degree of similarity among components in different units and showed a concept that the inter-unit CCF probability can be expressed in terms of the intra-unit CCF probability with the commonality factor. The commonality factor is approximated based on CCF coupling factors, which tie two or more failures together as a CCF. This study explains how to estimate the commonality factor by analyzing the conventional CCF database and judging commonality among components from different units. The proposed method is demonstrated through two preliminary examples.

Este trabalho objetiva avaliar comparativamente as discrepâncias entre os resultados da quantificação das distorções harmônicas e inter-harmônicas após a aplicação dos métodos de agrupamento propostos na literatura. Para tanto, é utilizada uma metodologia de análise de sensibilidade baseada na variação da amplitude e da frequência das componentes harmônicas e inther-harmônicas. Os sinais de teste são construídos a partir de referências na literatura e conforme o módulo 8 do PRODIST. Os resultados verificaram que para os métodos avaliados, a presença de inter-harmônicas com amplitude acima de 20% da fundamental em diferentes locais do espectro afetam os métodos de agrupamento e influenciam na quantificação das distorções.

This paper aims at an analytical and numerical analysis of a bistable Duffing equation. One purpose lies in the identification of suitable oscillations for a robust energy harvesting device, i.e. a system that is well suited for a broad bandwidth excitation. A map is constructed illustrating the dependence of the harvested energy on the predominant oscillation type. It shows that inter-well oscillations lead to the highest energy harvest compared to intra-well and cross-well oscillations under harmonic excitation. The determination of the critical excitation parameters necessary to maintain inter-well oscillations is essential for the design of bistable energy harvesters. Therefore, investigations are made to attain an analytical description of the inter-well oscillation region. On this basis, a design criterion is derived for nonlinear energy harvesters.

Abstract:
Cross-modal hashing intends to project data from two modalities into a common hamming space to perform cross-modal retrieval efficiently. Despite satisfactory performance achieved on real applications, existing methods are incapable of effectively preserving semantic structure to maintain inter-class relationship and improving discriminability to make intra-class samples aggregated simultaneously, which thus limits the higher retrieval performance. To handle this problem, we propose Equally-Guided Discriminative Hashing (EGDH), which jointly takes into consideration semantic structure and discriminability. Specifically, we discover the connection between semantic structure preserving and discriminative methods. Based on it, we directly encode multi-label annotations that act as high-level semantic features to build a common semantic structure preserving classifier. With the common classifier to guide the learning of different modal hash functions equally, hash codes of samples are intra-class aggregated and inter-class relationship preserving. Experimental results on two benchmark datasets demonstrate the superiority of EGDH compared with the state-of-the-arts.
