Abstract:
Objectives: Developing a search strategy for use in a systematic review is a time-consuming process requiring construction of detailed search strings using complicated syntax, followed by iterative fine-tuning and trial-and-error testing of these strings in online biomedical search engines. Methods: Building upon limitations of existing online-only search builders, a user-friendly computer-based tool was created to expedite search strategy development as part of production of a systematic review. Results: Search Builder 1.0 is a Microsoft Excel®-based tool that automatically assembles search strategy text strings for PubMed (www.pubmed.com) and Embase (www.embase.com), based on a list of user-defined search terms and preferences. With the click of a button, Search Builder 1.0 automatically populates the syntax needed for functional search strings, and copies the string to the clipboard for pasting into Pubmed or Embase. The offline file-based interface of Search Builder 1.0 also allows for searches to be easily shared and saved for future reference. Conclusions: This novel, user-friendly tool can save considerable time and streamline a cumbersome step in the systematic review process.

Abstract:
Civic issues in a society can be reported through a crowdsourcing web application. People can download the application on their smartphones and report the issues such as a pothole or broken streetlight. The report is submitted by taking a photo of the issue and additional information is entered. At first, the reports are submitted to a call center and after analyzing they will be transferred to organizations responsible for this type of events. In such a crowdsourcing project it is very vital to motivate people to participate in the project. The reports are supplied by users and without an acceptable number of users the application would be useless. In addition, having the exact location of a report is very helpful to facilitate the process of solving civic issues. Positioning with smartphones is not very accurate as they do not have strong and accurate GPSs. Therefore, there is a need to improve the accuracy of the positioning process and consequently accuracy of the spatial data. The aim of this thesis is to investigate how to employ GIS to help reporting civic issues and how to design an interesting client interface for such an application, in order to motivate user to download and use it. The goal is also to find out shortcomings and weaknesses of the positioning with smartphones and find a way to improve its accuracy. Some of successful similar applications’ structures and their interfaces were reviewed. In addition, a survey among existing users of crowdsourcing applications has been done in order to find out how to design the application to be interesting for users. Furthermore, some techniques and methods were chosen in order to improve the GPS accuracy especially in the places with a low GPS signal strength. These methods exploit WLAN and some of embedded features in a smartphone such as microphone, camera, accelerometer, gyroscope to improve the positioning accuracy. In the end, along reporting civic issues the user is able to report and get information about cheap and appropriate necessities and public events in different geographical areas through a map-based application. Furthermore, he or she is benefited by some location-based services such as online-food or taxi. The client application’s interface was designed for iPhone. This GIS-based mobile application would be an appropriate alternative for the old reporting methods like phone call or mail. Nevertheless, reporting civic issues itself, cannot be necessarily a strong motivation to attract the user to download and use the application. Therefore, desired feedbacks of the crowd need to be found out in order to encourage them to spend their time for the application. User needs to get motivated to use the application and considered additional parts can be very helpful to reach this aim.

Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to create a tutorial that could help developers interested in creating new applications for Apple iPhone to pass their initial unfamiliarity with the phone, its development environment, the programming language and the use of other components of the phone. The tutorial should be helpful for readers who have at least basic knowledge of the application development. There are also some useful links for readers who have no previous knowledge of programs' development. These materials describe some basic features and then clarify the common issues in more depth. Not only does this tutorial describe the phone's features and development tools, it also explains development procedures of concrete application. The phone has been introduced with a lot of new features such as accelerometer, large touch screen, etc. Therefore the application is trying to take advantage of most of these characteristics. The motive of this application stems from the old Russian game Tetris. This document describes only the functional and graphical design, concrete implementation and the source code are included in attachments.

Abstract:
The Information and Communication Technologies assume, nowadays, a very important role with regard to operational and strategic developments of companies. In this context we find the CRM (Customer Relationship Management), a concept created to define a whole class of tools that automate the functions of customer contact, providing companies a beter understanding of the behavior of their customers and allowing the creation of products and personalized services offerings. A practical example application of this concept is SugarCRM, which although it is a highly extensible platorm, it has some limitations, concerning the optimization and automation of repetitive tasks related with development or administration processes. This dissertation aims to develop, an alternative, to be used by both system administrators and developers, in the form of a CLI (Command- Line Interface) for SugarCRM, that not only increases the development speed and helps preventing and detecting errors but also facilitates the execution of specific tasks.

Abstract:

Many countries promote programming education for children in recent years. They expect the children can not only use digital devices and equipment, but also know the logical and fundamental software operations. It can enhance national competitiveness. Therefore, In K-12 and 12-year Compulsory Education, computational thinking becomes the core of education in some countries. Nowadays, most educations of programming for children focus on the students of elementary school and junior high school. It focus less on the preschool children. However, the preschool children already have the basic logic cognitive ability to learn the skill of computational thinking. This study proposed a Game-based Learning (GBL) teaching approach to integrate Tangible User Interface (TUI) to help preschool children to learn computational thinking and programming logical easily, and decrease the cognitive load in the learning process.

Abstract:
The present paper aims to develop/investigate an innovative approach for affordable houses for the medium income families, forming the major category of the Egyptian society using Design-Builder simulation and emphasizing the mechanical HVAC systems and their impact on energy consumption. Design-Builder ( a simulation user-friendly interface) for Energy-Plus (an energy simulation engine for energy modeling in buildings, heating, cooling, lighting, ventilating and other energy flows) is utilized to create a “virtual environment” in which the HVAC system effect is studied. Extensive field surveys are made to collect data regarding occupancy behavior, light and equipment schedules and other mechanical systems usage in such application. The majority of surveys indicated that split system (heat pumps) + mechanical ventilation (exhaust fan for bathroom and kitchen) are most common in the Egyptian society. The subject facility is located in Cairo, Egypt. The layout of this building/house has been developed by research architects in the Housing & Building National Research Centre HRBC taking into their consideration the medium income citizens, [1] needs and limited budget, the energy efficiency concepts as well as the previous work carried in the field of sustainable architecture. The individual buildings are formed of three floors containing twelve 100 m2 apartments. Each apartment consists of three bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen and a lounge.

Abstract:
In this study, general purpose multibody dynamics codes AutoDyn7 (AUTOmobile DYNamics in G7) and CADyna (the NT version of the AutoDyn7) are introduced for the application to education in multibody dynamics. In the Auto-Dyn7 program, an efficient and systematic formulation for rigid and flexible bodies is derived using the velocity transformation technique. The Rapid-App for GUI (Graphic User Interface) builder and the Open Inventor for 3D graphic library have been employed to develop these programs in Silicon Graphics workstation. Several special purpose modules of the AutoDyn7 program are introduced to analyze vehicle dynamic characteristics. The NT version of the AutoDyn7, named CADyna, is also developed. The pre-processor for user input is developed with Visual C++ and the post-processor is developed with OpenGL and TeeChart for animation and graph.
