Abstract Terahertz (THz) interface physics as a new interdiscipline between the THz technique and condensed matter physics has undergone rapid development in recent years. In particular, the development of advanced materials, such as graphene, transitional metal dichalcogenides, topological insulators, ferromagnetic metals, and metamaterials, has revolutionized the interface field and further promoted the development of THz functional devices based on interface physics. Moreover, playing at the interface of these advanced materials could unveil a wealth of fascinating physical effects such as

Second harmonic generation (SHG) is forbidden from most bulk metals because metals are characterized by centrosymmetric symmetry. Adsorption or desorption of molecules at the metal interface can break the symmetry and lead to SHG responses. Yet, the response is relatively low, and minute changes occurring at the interface, especially at solid/liquid interfaces, like in battery electrodes are difficult to assess. Herein, we use a plasmonic structure milled in a gold electrode to increase the overall SHG signal from the interface and gain information about small changes occurring at the interfac

Abstract:
Generating mobile apps represents a big challenge in several areas, such as considering audience needs, adapting their user interfaces to such needs, dealing with design constraints or using different development technologies. The present work seeks to examine how design patterns can help to support the generation of this kind of adaptive mobile application. In particular, design patterns related to user interfaces are reviewed, and an ontology-based framework is proposed to manage their pattern descriptions and associated rules. Such a framework enables a more versatile and powerful organizat

Abstract:
To augment cement-bone bonding, hydroxyapatite (HA) granules were interposed at cement-bone interface (IBBC technique). HA granules were smeared on the bone surface just before cementing components. Porous HA granules of 300 to 500μm in diameter and 100 to 300μm in diameter were used from 1986 to 1988(first generation) and 1989 to 1991(second generation), respectively. 222 hips of 151 patients in the first generation and 252 hips of 170 patients in second generation could be followed. After 16 to 21 year follow up, radiolucent line (space), less than 1mm, was observed in 4 hips(1.8%) in the fi
