Pneumococcal meningitis is a fatal form of bacterial meningitis caused by brain infection of Streptococcus pneumoniae. Not only does it cause acute mortality, but pneumococcal meningitis also leads to long-term neurological disabilities in up to half of the survivors. Modifying the metabolism of the body’s own endocannabinoids is a novel approach for analgesia. Two key catabolic enzymes are fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) and inflammation-inducible cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2). Une expression atypique, transitoire d'interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) a été décrite au cours du développement du trophectoderme porcin et pose de nombreuses questions sur les mécanismes d'induction de l'IFN-γ dans ce tissu. Afin d'étudier ces mécanismes, nous avons isolé un clone cellulaire: B4-3. Quand elles sont cultivées sur membrane microporeuse, ces cellules acquièrent un phénotype polarisé comme le montre l'augmentation de la résistance transépithéliale (RTE). BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Congenital Hepatic Fibrosis (CHF) is caused by mutations in PKHD1, a gene encoding for fibrocystin, a protein of unknown function, expressed in cholangiocyte cilia and centromers. In CHF, biliary dysgenesis is accompanied by severe progressive portal fibrosis and portal hypertension. The mechanisms responsible for portal fibrosis in CHF are unclear. The αvβ6 integrin mediates local activation of TGFβ1 and is expressed by reactive cholangiocytes during cholestasis. Interferon-γ-Release-Assays (IGRAs) sollten bei ihrer Einführung im Jahr 2005 diagnostische Unsicherheiten ausräumen helfen, jedoch blieb der genaue diagnostische Wert des Tests, vor allem in Kliniken mit einer hohen Prä-Test-Wahrscheinlichkeit, unklar.
