Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of turning parameters on the surface integrity of Inconel 718. The turning parameters studied were cutting speed of 90, 120, 150 m/min, feed rate of 0.15, 0.25, 0.25mm/rev and depth of cut of 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 mm under minimum quantity lubricant (MQL) using coated carbide tool. surface response methodology (RSM) design of experiment using Box-Behnken approach has been employed consisting of various combination of turning parameters Surface roughness, surface topography, microstructure and the micro hardness of the machined surface were studied after the machining process. Feed rate was found to be the most significant parameter affecting the surface roughness. The optimum parameter was obtained with Ra equal to 0.243 µm at cutting speed of 150 m/min, feed rate of 0.25 mm/rev and depth of cut of 0.3mm. A mathematical model for surface roughness was developed using Response Surface Methodology. The effect of turning parameters and factor interactions on surface roughness is presented in 3D graphical form, which helps in selecting the optimum process parameters to achieve the desired surface quality.

Abstract:
This paper aims to examine the hidden campaigns carried out by camp 02 at the 212 grand reunion event, and the actions taken by Bawaslu as election organizer. This study uses analytic qualitative research, namely research that has the aim of analyzing the findings. The results showed that the grand reunion carried out by 212 alumni was a form of covert campaign by camp 02. This was evidenced by the findings explained by the researchers. In addition, the actions taken by Bawaslu were a form of election violations with the DKPP decision regarding the sanctions given to Bawaslu commissioners. In practice, in the field there was a hidden campaign carried out by party 02 at the grand reunion. This is evidenced by the existence of hashtags to replace the president and songs or yells that cornered parties 01. In the third typology it is explained that the election organizer must be neutral and professional. This is different from the findings in the field where a decision was made by one of the commissioners unilaterally without any prior investigation and plenary meeting and only came from television broadcasts. The data were collected through in-depth interviews with sources, and were analyzed qualitatively. This study concluded that the grand reunion carried out by 212 alumni was a form of covert campaign carried out by camp 02. In addition, Bawaslu was proven to have violated ethics by issuing a DKPP decision regarding violations of the code of ethics accepted by DKI Bawaslu and Bawaslu RI by making decisions one-sided so that it is not neutral and professional.

Abstract:
Phylogenetic analysis of 63 digenean family groups, based on 113 adult characters and 90 larval characters, produced a phylogenetic tree comprising nine orders. Adult characters alone resolved 76% of the phylogenetic tree, whereas larval characters alone resolved 74%. There was no disagreement in phylogenetic inferences drawn from only larval or only adult characters, and yet the larval forms of digeneans do not seem to be recapitulations of ancestral adult forms. The consistency index for the tree is 74%, indicating a low degree of parallel evolution in digenean morphology. Diversification in six sets of ecological characteristics combined resolves 26% of the phylogenetic tree. The combination of (i) larval and adult congruence in the absence of recapitulation, (ii) low levels of parallel evolution in morphology, and (iii) ecological diversification lagging far behind morphological change discounts traditional notions of adaptive radiations. Digeneans have experienced great morphological diversification constrained by their developmental programs and history, and have maintained their functional intergrity with few changes caused by extrinsic, "adaptive," forces.

Abstract:
In this paper, titanium powders from various sources were characterized to compare powder intergrity for additive manufacturing by selective laser melting process. Selective laser melting by powder-bed based Additive Manufacturing (AM) is an advanced manufacturing process that bonds successive layers of powder by laser melting to facilitate the creation of engineering components. This manufacturing approach facilitates the production of components with high geometrical complexity that would otherwise be impossible to create through conventional manufacturing processes. Although the use of powder in AM is quite common, powder production and optimization of powder properties to yield desired performance characteristics has posed a serious challenge to researchers. It is therefore critical that powder properties be studied and controlled to ensure reliability and repeatability of the components that are produced. Typically, the desired feature of high quality titanium metal powders for AM are a combination of high sphericity, density and flowability. Scanning electron microscopy, EDS, particle size distribution and powder rheology were extensively performed to investigate the properties of gas-atomized Ti-6Al-4V powders.

Abstract:
The essay is based on the constitutional differences between two swedish laws and the fact that they appear collaterally in practice. The topic is the legal aspects of the conflict of interests that appears in the relationship between the Swedish Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments and the Work Environment Act. The separate interests are rediscovered in several different sources of law. This essay aims to find guidance for operators within care and welfare on how to make a correct consideration between these interests, in a legal purposive way. The legal dogmatic method has been used to achieve the purpose. The main conclusions is that the risk for a conflict of interests between the Work Environment Act and other laws has been foreseen by the swedish legislator. Although, the legislator states that it is impossible to find a general solution for the conflict and leaves to concerned authorities to issue further regulation if necessary. Today, these regulations does not provide for any guidance regarding the conflict of interest between the concerned laws. Although the consideration has a tendency to be subjective, some implications can be made regarding the argumentation of the court and authority. Case law takes self determination, integrity, participation and the functional impairments into account, when discussing the rights for persons with functional impairments. Regarding the workers’ rights, case law indicate that the psychological strain, the professional precondition and the regularity of the events are relevant factors. In summary, case law show that the person with functional disability has an unconditional right to the entitled assistance. How the assistance shall be performed is depending on a consideration whether the measures taken in order to improve the working environment are reasonable on the results that can be achieved. Further, some examples of taken measures estimated as being comfortable and not are rediscovered. Finally, the outcome for individuals is discussed followed by a further evolved analysis of the dilemma, with connection to specific cicumstances within care and welfare.

Du, Plessis Emma Kate. "The constitutional rights of 'benefactor children' and 'saviour siblings' to bodily intergrity and autonomy." Thesis, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, 2011. http://hdl.handle.net/10948/d1010420.

Full text
Abstract:
In modern society, children are acknowledged as bearers of both children‟s rights and all other rights in the Bill of Rights which generally apply to children. One important right, outside of section 28, is that of bodily integrity or the right to control and decide what happens to their body. Therefore, children theoretically have the right to consent to medical treatment and surgery. However, children are generally deemed to lack the necessary maturity to make decisions of this nature and require parental consent before any medical procedure may be performed. Following the enactment of the Children‟s Act 38 of 2005, the age of consent for medical intervention was lowered to the uniform age of twelve. Children above the age of twelve are recognised as having the capacity to make their own decisions in respect of bodily integrity, whereas those under twelve still require parental consent. While this may be a positive evelopment, it is potentially problematic for two groups of children, known as „benefactor children‟ and „saviour siblings‟. In the last 50 years, there has been a noticeable advancement in the field of genetic research. One such development is the possibility of creating one child to save the life of another through tissue or organ donation. This has provided options to parents of children with life threatening conditions where before, there was little hope of a cure. Now, at the request of these parents, children can be specifically “genetically engineered” as an embryo, to become a tissue or organ match to a sick sibling. These children are known as „saviour siblings‟. Another group of children has emerged. While not the result of “genetic engineering”, they serve a similar purpose in being potential life-saving donors to an ill sibling and are known as „benefactor children‟. Both categories of children enjoy the protection of fundamental rights. For those who are under twelve years of age however, the right to bodily integrity can be infringed upon by the proposed surgical removal of organs or tissue for the benefit of a sick sibling, based purely on a parent‟s consent. At stake too, is the right to reproductive autonomy. Parents bear children for a number of different reasons, which can include raising a child to save the life of another. As they have the right to reproductive autonomy, adults are able to decide when they want children and for what reason they want children, which can include the various techniques used to bring about „saviour siblings‟. However, as rights are mutually interrelated and nterdependent, they cannot be viewed in isolation. Therefore, it must be asked: does a person‟s right to reproductive autonomy, as guaranteed by the Constitution, justify interference with an embryo? As an embryo is not recognised in South African law as a legal subject, it will be difficult to justify interference with this right on this basis. The right to consent to medical intervention only from age twelve was described as potentially problematic for „benefactor children‟ and „saviour siblings‟, as parents with seriously ill children may become so emotionally burdened, that they place the welfare of the sick child over that of the healthy child. Thus, it is possible that parents will consent to any and all procedures on the „benefactor child‟ or „saviour sibling‟, regardless of the implications to the health and suffering of the healthy child. Section 28(2) of the Constitution states that the child‟s best interests are of paramount importance but, it must be asked, whose best interests are more important when more than one child is involved? As this is a decision parents are incapable of making at that time, the decision should be made by a neutral, impartial and unemotional third party such as the Court, which can be assisted by the Family Advocate and an ombudsman, who are experts in assisting children and promoting their best interests. Presently, South African law does not expressly address „saviour siblings‟. However, with few changes to the National Health Act and other Regulations, this is an area which could be regulated in time. These changes could include finalising the draft regulations as well as providing a list of the medical and dental purposes for which blood and tissue can be removed and should make specific reference to the removal of tissue, blood or blood products to treat a sick sibling. It is also imperative that South Africa regulates these matters now, as „saviour siblings‟ are no longer simply a matter for the future. Furthermore, legislation needs to be amended and enacted to prevent the law from becoming out-dated and redundant, leaving „benefactor children‟ and „saviour siblings‟ vulnerable while law is being drafted. In that international law is silent on the matter, South Africa would be well advised to consider foreign law such as the United Kingdom, in developing its law. As the United Kingdom has developed a National Board, so too should South Africa, as this would assist in regulating „saviour siblings‟ by allowing members to review each proposed case of „saviour siblings‟. This is merely one recommendation of several which could facilitate a smooth, controlled regulation of a highly emotional topic. Children remain one of the most vulnerable groups in society and their rights are often susceptible to infringement or abuse. It is incumbent on the law to ensure that, wherever possible, these rights are protected, especially as science continues to advance and it becomes more difficult to determine what is morally correct.

In order to understand the Ni-base superalloys cutting process by electrical discharge machining, Taguchi method was obtained to efficiently determine the optimum conditions for gaining higher material removal rate, lower electrode wear rate, and finer surface respectively. The grey theory was superior to Taguchi’s in dealing with the multiple quality evaluation since the latter one was adopted usually in dealing with the single quality evaluation. Thus, an integrated consideration from both methods was proposed herein to inherit benefits from both ones to accelerate the optimization process. Three kinds of methods to obtain the better composition of signal and multiple parameter: (1) Taguchi base calculation to find the optimum single machining characteristics for EDM; (2) grey theory provides the optimum multi-objective machining characteristics; (3) with non-linear regression calculation link to EDM machining function for parameter condition were altogether shown in this paper. These three steps could satisfy the need for industry manufacturing. Finally, the experiment was conducted to understand the surface transformation and characteristic of recast layer (RCL) in Ni based alloys after EDM.

Based on the topology of hierarchical power quad-grids, an optimal network analysis method is proposed to accurately find the voltage of the reference nodes and the current of all the reference branches. After calculating out the number value, IR-drop voltage constraints emerging to the network, utilize the basic effect of circuit, put forward a kind of simple method, and the formula simple to use. Feasible assignment and the optimized number inserting of power pads moved with power pads reduce the question of interfering, and then reduce unnecessary decoupling capacitance inserting, keep signal integrity and guarantees function of chip is comp1ete. For the power pad assignment for the topology of hierarchical power quad-grids, the experimental results show that the iterative adjustment approach with optimal network analysis inserts and assigns the optimized power pads onto feasible locations to release all the IR-drop constraints in reasonable CPU time for the tested example.

Abstract:
PWR fuel assembly (FA) experiences many changes from the time it is manufactured, loaded in the reactor and removed from the reactor for reprocessing or stroage etc. Any of these alterations which impact spent nuclear fuel (SNF) integrity should be considered to design a cask/canister. Regarding the cask/canister design, there could be a freedom to design a system that mitigates the forces transmitted to SNF and fuel rods. If the cask/canister design prevents or mitigates forces transmitted to its contents such that structural integrity is not significantly compromised, the detailed SNF properties are necessary to make a decision of the elaborated design parameters. An approach to those work formations is to analyze mechanical characteristics of structural components. Those informations are also used to evaluate hypothetical accident, to select limiting FA for cask/canister to accommodate various kinds of SNFs and to design transportation/storage system for SNFs. Especially, FA structural properties are a sort of essential data. Thus, in this paper, some approaches to evaluate SNF mechanical characteristics are suggested through the existing technical information review, some test data and the analysis methodology, and also closely study the mechanical characteristics of a representative SNF for its general comprehension.
