Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to offer a model that explained choices of easy, intermediate, and difficult tasks by preschool children. From the author's past studies, three goals were assumed to be associated with children's choices of tasks. Preschool children choose an easy task when their goals are to receive a favorable estimation by others (estimation goal), an intermediate task when they are interested in the task (task goal), and a difficult task when their concerns are focused on the value of success (value of success goal).

The purpose of this study was to analyze latent profile types of adolescents’ social achievement goals and to examine differences in perceived parenting attitudes and school adjustment across profiles. To this end, a questionnaire on social achievement goals, parenting attitudes, and school adjustment was administered to 408 sixth‐grade elementary and middle school students from two metropolitan cities. The collected data were analyzed using latent profile analysis (LPA), and one‐way analysis of variance (One‐Way ANOVA) was conducted to test for differences among

Efforts to control climate change with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 have had the most significant impact on businesses operating in the energy sector, which produce large amounts of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In light of such policies, oil and gas companies have set goals aimed at reducing GHG emissions and achieving carbon neutrality, but the issue remains open as to how such activities and progress towards these goals can be evaluated. This study attempts to assess the activities and progress of oil and gas companies towards carbon neutrality, with a focus on quantitat

MANETs are networks of mobile nodes that are randomly distributed and play a major role in data transmission, route discovery, and route maintenance. Connection recovery and path stability are significant issues in the MANET, making data transfer problematic. When mobile nodes move out of range or when the node lacks adequate energy to maintain connection or path stability, data packet loss happens. Numerous pieces of evidence of studies into segmental phonology abound, however not a lot has been completed on intonation. From research, up to 70% of the issues related to the dearth of intelligibility in spoken verbal exchange are due to insufficient knowledge of patterns of English intonation amongst non-native speakers. The goal of this paper is to analyze the reasons accountable for relegation to the heritage of the coaching of intonation styles and check out the connections among intonation and that means. Despite its importance, for many years, teaching speaking has been undervalued and English language teachers have gone on teaching  speaking just as a repetition of drills or memorization of dialogues. However, today's world requires that the goal of teaching speaking should improve students' communicative skills. This study focused on the effects of interactive teaching strategy on the improvement  of speaking skills of students learning English  as a second language. And  it purposes to

We consider the case where the agent cannot enforce its goal --- for which the argument for using best-effort strategies has been made --- and study the intermediate ground, between enforcing and best-effort strategies, of dominant strategies. Intuitively, such strategies achieve the goal against any environment for which it is achievable. We show that dominant strategies may exist when enforcing ones do not, while still sharing with t

Abstract This study opens a window into the mapping of the lexical structure of bilinguals as they reach intermediate-level L2 proficiency. A group of 32 Persian-speaking English learners participated in a translation recognition task, where they had to decide whether the sequentially presented English-Persian word pairs were translation equivalents. The Persian words in the experimental trials were not translation equivalents, but they either shared lexical or semantic features with the correct translations or shared phonological features with the preceding English words. For example, the Per

Improving energy efficiency is a critical way to solve energy shortage and environmental problems and achieve the goal of “double carbon”. As China expands imports and integrates into global value chains, can import trade improve energy efficiency? This topic is extremely important for solving current energy problems and promoting sustainable economic development. Based on panel data of prefecture-level cities in China, this paper uses the Super-SBM model to measure the total factor energy efficiency of cities and investigates the impact of intermediate goods imports on energy efficiency with

Thirty lower-intermediate level undergraduates performed narrative tasks during a five-month period and some were subsequently interviewed. Analysis of the data suggests that goal orientation

Predicting who will relapse after behavioural or dynamic psychotherapy is important. A search for variables likely to predict individuals at risk of relapse was conducted in two groups of successfully treated stutterers. The most powerful predictors were the attainment of three goals by the last day of treatment; namely, skill mastery as evidenced by no stuttering, normal attitudes to communication, and an internalisation of the locus of control. Of the subjects who achieved these three goals, 97% maintained their improved speech in the long term. No subject who failed to achieve any of these
