Abstract:
Purpose: This paper explores various problems faced by music players in general and the solutions about the problems. Research methods: These problems are categorized into two, namely internal and external. Internal problems are related to technical and psychological problems, while external problems are related to communication capacity. Results and discussion: Internal problems can be experienced by all music players without considering the kind of their performances (solo or ensemble), external problems specifically only appear in the ensemble. The solution to the technical problems is trying to understand the score from the broadest possible perspective (accommodating at least three things: assumptions about the style of music, the intention of the composer, and the role of the player in interpreting the work) so that the player can construct sound imaginations without being overshadowed by technical constraints. Implication: Psychological problems can be mitigated by many things, but the most recommended method is cognitive behavior therapy, where musicians are taught to always bring positive thoughts in any situations

Abstract:
The central contention of this article holds that scholars do not adequately assess and explain the influence of transboundary security issues on government behaviour. Their assessment is not adequate because they do not fully conceptualize the relationship between internal and external security concerns. Their explanations are not adequate because existing theories cannot fully explain how and why states respond to transboundary security issues. To rectify these concerns, stimulate and structure further research, and encourage scholarly dialogue, we build an analytical framework for (a) understanding what we describe as the ‘nexus’ of internal and external security matters, and (b) explaining why that nexus may change state behaviour on transboundary security issues. The resulting framework encourages a strong focus on the nature of transboundary problems before studying their implications for changes in perceptions, policies, politics and polity.

In this article we present an instrument to be used by students and professors to evaluate classroom dialogue. We begin with an explanation of the classroom community of inquiry and why we value it as a pedagogical approach. We then describe our different reasons for evaluating classroom dialogue — including institutional, professional and pedagogical accountability — and describe the inherent conflicts among these reasons. We explain how our evaluation instrument was designed to ameliorate these conflicts. We recount a number of theoretical and practical problems we encountered in designing and implementing the instrument and explain how we attempted to overcome these problems. We conclude the article by describing the advantages and disadvantages of our instrument in light of our analysis of data gathered from its first implementation.

Sahin, Turker. "Internal And External Dynamics Of Transition To Democracy In Turkey Between 1945 And 1950." Master's thesis, METU, 2012. http://etd.lib.metu.edu.tr/upload/12615158/index.pdf.

Full text
Abstract:
The main objective of this thesis is to examine both external and internal dynamics in terms of their preparation for the ways to democratization in Turkey between 1945 and 1950. It was asserted in many academic and nonacademic works that the main influences for democratization of Turkey in this period came from outside as external dynamics. But in this study, it will be argued that while the external dynamics may stimulate different actors for democratization, survival and consolidation of this democratization process requires internal dynamics more than the external ones. In order to check the validity of this argument, the thesis focuses on Turkish democratization period between 1945 and 1950. This historical interval is important
because, although there were some efforts for transition to democratic regime by that time, all those efforts failed due to the unpreparedness of the Turkish rulers, the Turkish people, and also insufficient social, economic and political conditions in the country. Within the five year period between 1945 and 1950, both the internal and the external dynamics which would contribute democratization in Turkey had changed. The new conditions emerging from the WW II and the post war period transformed economic, political, and social structures of the society that changed expectations in the country. All these dynamics playing important roles in the democratization of Turkey will be mentioned in the thesis. The period in the thesis will start with the termination of the WW II and it will end with the general elections held on May 14, 1950.

Abstract:

Dessa delades in i

individens behov.

The purpose of the study was to discern which strategies pupils employ when they solve

a mathematical problem. We carried through one observation and nine individual

interviews with pupils in school year 3. They were asked to solve a mathematical

problem, which was observed. On the basis of the pupils’ solutions, we carried out

interviews in order to determine which strategies they chose to employ. The outcome of

the pupils’ solutions showed several problem solving strategies. These were divided

into external and internal representations. Strategies such as pictures, graphs and

mathematical symbols (numerals) are external representations, as they consist of

concrete pictures that the pupils must see in front of them on a paper when solving

mathematical problems. Mental arithmetic, automated knowledge and “thinking” are all

strategies that belong to internal modes of representation. With internal representations,

we mean what happens inside our heads – what pupils need not see in front of them in

order to solve a problem. We found that the pupils’ solutions contained combinations of

several different strategies. Irrespective of which strategy or strategies the pupil choose

in his or her problem solving, it is inevitable to use some variety of internal

representations; everyone has to think, regardless of the strategy chosen and the

problem solving skills of the pupil. When pupils are young, it may be difficult for them

to present the flow of their problem solving processes in writing. Consequently, as

teachers we must have time to familiarize ourselves with how the pupil thinks in order

to develop our teaching on the basis of the needs of the individual pupil.

Abstract:
There is no doubt that parental conflicts can be the cause of child‘s stress. The studies of healthy children show that marital conflicts can be extremely harmful. However there are not many empirical studies of how marital conflicts relate to psychological adjustment in children with bronchial asthma. So the purpose of this study was to explore the relations between parental conflicts resolutions, their children with asthma psychological adjustment and certain demographic data. During the study parents of 192 children aged from 1,8 - 12 years were questionned. 86 children, 56 boys and 30 girls, were suffering from mild (N = 55) and moderate (N = 31) asthma forms. 106 of the same age children, 55 boys and 50 girls, without any chronic disease were used as a comparison group. In the study Child Behaviour Checklist (CBCL/1½-5 and CBCL6–18), the Conflicts and Problem – Solving Scales (CPS) and child‘s environmental questionnaire were used. The analysis of results showed that children with asthma have more internal difficulties than healthy children. Girls with asthma have more external difficulties as compared to their healthy peers. The expression of these difficulties does not differ depending on the form of asthma or child‘s with asthma gender. It was found that pre-school age children with asthma have more emotional and general (emotional and behavioural) difficulties than their healthy peers. The study showed that parents who had children with asthma (under the mothers... [to full text]

Full text
Abstract:

Abstract:

The purpose with this study is to investigate if there is an association between unpredictable parents and the occurrence of both internal and external behavior problems among adolescents. The study considers the internalizing behavior problems low self-esteem and depression and the externalizing behavior problems delinquency and aggression. The study consists of 1018 adolescents in ages between 13 and 15 years old. The study is based on a questionnaire where five scales are used to measure the participating adolescent’s self-esteem, depression, delinquency and aggression and their view on how consistent their parents are. The result shows that those adolescents who have both internalizing and externalizing behavior problems where those who reported highest in unpredictability in their parents.

Abstract:
Assessment of overlapped internal and external volumetric flaws is one of the most common problems relating to pressure vessels and piping components. Under the current Fitness for Service (FFS) rules, such as ASME, BS and so on, the procedures have not yet defined how to assess these flaws. In this paper, a new procedure for these volumetric flaws is proposed for assessing the flaws by the p-M (pressure-moment) diagram method, which is a simple assessment procedure. Numerous FEAs for a cylinder with overlapped internal and external flaws were conducted to verify the proposed procedure. There is good agreement among them.

Full text
Abstract:
This work is devoted to the formulation and construction of an analytical solution to the problem of contact between a cylindrical viscoelastic aging pipe with an internal thin coating and an insert having a complex shape placed inside the pipe with an interference fit. In practice, the presence of such coatings is required, for example, to protect the main structure from aggressive external or internal environments, for its electrical insulation, etc. The manufacturing process of the inner coating determines its possible heterogeneity (dependence of properties on coordinates). An insert placed inside a pipe can have a complex profile that has a rapidly changing function. Taking these features into account is important when analyzing the stress-strain state of pipes with an internal coating. Using an approach based on the use of special basis functions and the type of solution, a representation for the contact stresses in the pipe in the region of the rigid insert is obtained. This approach makes it possible to distinguish functions that describe the properties of the inner coating and the shape of the outer profile of the insert in the form of separate terms and factors in the expression for the contact stresses in the insert region. Therefore, in order to achieve high accuracy when carrying out calculations, it is sufficient to restrict ourselves to a relatively small number of terms
