We discuss the influence of external magnetic field on strong decays of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] mesons. Due to increasing energy of [Formula: see text] Landau level of charged decay products, particular decay channels may become suppressed and isospin rules for strong decays can be violated. In the case of [Formula: see text] meson, enhanced production of photons and dileptons (with modified invariant mass) may occur. Similar considerations are applied to decays of [Formula: see text] baryon. We also suggest that static electromagnetic field of sufficie

Abstract The radiative balance equation describes the evolution of the internal wave action density spectrum n (k) in response to propagation, generation, nonlinear transfer, dissipation, and other processes. Dissipation is assumed to be due primarily to wave breaking, either by shear or gravitational instability. As part of the Internal Wave Action Model (IWAM) modeling effort, a family of dissipation functions is studied that is to account for this dissipation by wave breaking in the radiative balance equation. The dissipation function is of the quasi-linear form Sdiss = −γ (k, Ri−1) n(k), w

Trees growing beneath electrical power lines are often subjected to heading cuts made during roundover trimming. Heading cuts create wounds that allow decay to enter the branch, and a decay column will form if the tree does not contain it with compartmental reaction zones. The presence of a sizable decay column may predispose the leader to failure, especially when the tree has been converted from a roundover to a V-trim. The objectives of this study were to quantify the amount of decay in silver maples (Acer saccharinum L.) converted from roundover to V-trims and to develop models to allow uti

Ces éléments ne doivent leur existence qu’à d’importants effets quantiques. Abstract:
Objective: The objective of this research was to investigate the potential use of NMR for evaluating various internal quality factors of fruits and vegetables, leading to the eventual development of practical techniques that are useful for future development of NMR sensors. Summary: Investigation on NMR imaging, one-dimension NMR projection, and single-pulse free-induction-decay (FID) spectrum led to the development of high-speed NMR techniques for real-time sensing of internal quality of selected fruits. NMR imaging can be used for detecting internal defects and various quality factors such a

Lichter, Amnon, Joseph L. Smilanick, Dennis A. Margosan, and Susan Lurie. Ethanol for postharvest decay control of table grapes: application and mode of action. United States Department of Agriculture, 2005. http://dx.doi.org/10.32747/2005.7587217.bard.

Full text
Abstract:
Original objectives: Dipping of table grapes in ethanol was determined to be an effective measure to control postharvest gray mold infection caused by Botrytis cinerea. Our objectives were to study the effects of ethanol on B.cinerea and table grapes and to conduct research that will facilitate the implementation of this treatment. Background: Botrytis cinerea is known as the major pathogen of table grapes in cold storage. To date, the only commercial technology to control it relied on sulfur dioxide (SO₂) implemented by either fumigation of storage facilities or from slow release generator pa

Abstract:
One of the emerging technologies is the use of microbial agents for the control of postharvest diseases of fruits and vegetables. A number of antagonistic microorganisms have been discovered which have the potential to effectively control postharvest diseases. Some of this technology has been patented and commercial products such as AspireTM (Ecogen Corporatin, Langhorne, PA, USA), Biosave 10TM and Biosave 11TM (Ecoscience Inc., Worchester, MA, USA) have been registered for commercial use. Abstract:

Abstract:
The RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM) is Canada's latest system of C-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Earth observation satellites. The system of three satellites, spaced equally in a common orbit, allows for a rapid four-day repeat interval. The RCM has been designed with a selection of stripmap, spotlight, and ScanSAR beam modes which offer varied combinations of spatial resolution and coverage. Using Differential Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (DInSAR) techniques, the growing archive of SAR data gathered by RCM can be used for change detection and ground deformation monitori

Abstract:
Empowering adolescent girls through education has become a priority among numerous stakeholder. However, recent evidence suggests that education alone may not be suffcient if women remain in a low-empowerment equilibrium and face internal constraints as they relate to aspirations, self-efficacy, leadership, and other life (soft) skills. We study the long-term impacts of a school-based upper-secondary intervention, the Educate! Experience, designed to enhance adolescents’ leadership and social entrepreneurship skills in Uganda. The program was implemented as a cluster randomized controlled tria

Abstract:
As smart sensors and the Internet of Things (IoT) exponentially expand, there is an increased need for effective processing solutions for sensor node data located in the operational arena where it can be leveraged for immediate decision support. Current developments reveal that edge computing, where processing and storage are performed close to data generation locations, can meet this need (Ahmed and Ahmed 2016). Edge computing imparts greater flexibility than that experienced in cloud computing architectures (Khan et al. 2019). Despite these benefits, the literature highlights open security i

Abstract:
From 2018 to 2021, the Department of Health (DOH), with assistance from United States Agency for International Development-Health Policy Plus (USAID-HP+) and European Union-Philippine Health Sector Reform Contract, implemented a National Health Expenditure Survey (NHES). The NHES consists of two components: a household survey (NHES-HC) and a medical provider survey (NHES-MPC). Healthcare use and financing information provided by select NHES-HC respondents are cross-referenced during the NHES-MPC with their health facility records. Intended as a regular tool to inform decisionmaking on health s
