Abstract:
Technological advancement and the Internet are two-edged swords. Children and adolescents across the world have turned to the internet and digital technologies as a result of the pandemic COVID-19. Despite the benefits, technology advancement has a negative impact. There are many factors contributing to the use of internet among children and adolescents as well as the hazards associated with the over-usage of the digital technology. Studies also investigate the psychological effects of internet use on children and adolescents, which include physical, social, cognitive and emotional effects. This paper highlights the discussion of Islam as a way of encountering the issues and challenges faced as a result of the internet usage. Islam recognises the advent of technological tools to facilitate lives and provides general guidelines in using modern technology such as internet. This is paralleled with the role of human as a vicegerent on earth, which calls for good and prevents evildoing, in which can be materialised by using the internet effectively. The article outlines the concluding remarks.

Abstract:
The Internet of things model enables a world in which all of our everyday devices can be integrated and communicate with each other and their surroundings to gather and share data and simplify task implementation. Such an Internet of things environment would require seamless authentication, data protection, stability, attack resistance, ease of deployment, and self-maintenance, among other things. Blockchain, a technology that was born with the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, may fulfill Internet of things requirements. However, due to the characteristics of both Internet of things devices and Blockchain technology, integrating Blockchain and the Internet of things can cause several challenges. Despite a large number of papers that have been published in the field of Blockchain and the Internet of things, the problems of this combination remain unclear and scattered. Accordingly, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive survey of the challenges related to Blockchain–Internet of things integration by evaluating the related peer-reviewed literature. The paper also discusses some of the recommendations for reducing the effects of these challenges. Moreover, the paper discusses some of the unsolved concerns that must be addressed before the next generation of integrated Blockchain–Internet of things applications can be deployed. Lastly, future trends in the context of Blockchain–Internet of things integration are discussed.

Abstract:
The Internet comprises a vast network of interconnected computers worldwide. It transcends limitations on information access for users and has become a vital dependency for many individuals. This study evaluates the current and potential impact of the Internet on the social lives of bachelor’s level students in Nepalgunj. It examines students’ attitudes towards interpersonal relationships and self-presentation confidence. The Internet plays a pivotal role in enhancing students’ global awareness and knowledge, but concurrently, excessive reliance on it poses a risk to their self-assurance. Data were collected via a questionnaire distributed through online platforms like Google Forms on social media. The findings reveal that 35% of students stay up late to complete college assignments, while 5% do so for family discussions. Additionally, 53% stay up late primarily to browse the Internet, and 7% do so for other reasons. The report concludes that excessive Internet use adversely affects students’ confidence, interpersonal skills, and creativity. This over-reliance diminishes social engagement and reduces the ability to confidently interact, debate, or engage face-to-face. Moreover, Internet addiction hampers students’ creativity, rendering them overly reliant on the Internet to solve challenges.

Abstract:
Internet of Things-based environments pose various challenges due to their anytime/anywhere computing, and the efficient cryptographic based key management is one of the major challenges in Internet of Things. The key management life cycle consists of initialization, key generation, key registration, key backup, key update, key recovery, and key revocation. Our contribution in this paper is to summarize the state-of-the-art key management schemes and techniques in different scenarios, such as mobile ad hoc networks, wireless sensor networks, and the Internet of Things environments. Further different issues related specifically to the Internet of Things environment are discussed and the causes and effects pertaining to the security breach for Internet of Things are identified. Furthermore, in this research work, we develop a novel permutation of threshold and identity-based key management schemes for the Internet of Things environment and have proposed future directions to counteract the attacks on confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and availability of security services in the Internet of Things environment and identified the two key management schemes, that is, identity and threshold schemes for Internet of Things, to resolve Internet of Things key management issues and maximum possible security services effective implementation. We evaluate our scheme with the help of mathematical and statistical techniques.

Abstract The internet and internet-mediated life have presented new issues and challenges for research on pragmatics. When analyzing the application of pragmatics to internet-mediated communication, a possibility is to set up a number of layers and study the contributions that traditional pragmatic schools can make to this new research area. These layers include, but are not limited to, user and contextual constraints, user to user by means of discourse, user to user in interaction, user to audience, user in a group of users and, user and non-intended no-propositional effects. Research on internet pragmatics, we believe, can, should and will extend and expand the scope of pragmatics. Ultimately, internet pragmatics, capturing and elucidating the order of things and the order of life more extensively, deeply and fully, seeks to explore and expound, from the perspective of pragmatics, ways of living, ways of doing, ways of seeing, and ways of (re)discovering.

Abstract:
This study examines the effect of power shortages and internet interruptions on the productivity of small retail firms in Southeast Asia, specifically in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Using data from the 2015 and 2023 World Bank Enterprise Surveys, the research investigates how these disruptions affect firm output, with a focus on small enterprises, a sector often overlooked in existing literature. Power shortages have been shown to hinder productivity, but the effect varies by country, with regional and national contexts influencing the outcomes. This study incorporates internet interruptions as a newly considered variable in the 2023 data, adding a modern perspective on how digital infrastructure challenges impact small businesses. Using the Fixed Effects Model, Random Effects Model, and Ordinary Least Squares regression techniques, the research identifies significant effects of power shortages on productivity, particularly in Indonesia and Vietnam. However, internet interruptions did not show a statistically significant impact across the regions studied. The findings suggest that small retail firms may be less reliant on stable internet access compared to sectors that are more digitally intensive. The study highlights the importance of tailored, localized strategies to mitigate disruptions and calls for future research to explore contextual factors and adaptive strategies that affect productivity in the face of infrastructure challenges.

Abstract:
There has been considerable research on smart cities and on adapting technology for businesses, governments, citizens and other stakeholders. However, scant attention has been paid to determine how disruptive technologies influence smart cities. Through a systemic literature review, this paper provides a point-by-point consideration of ‘nested’ disruptive technologies, namely, the Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous vehicles (AV), artificial general intelligence (AGI) and 5G networks (5G), and the factors affecting their deployment in the context of smart cities. This paper also discusses why these are important disruptive technologies for smart cities and how these technologies influence them. The main challenges of implementing these disruptive technologies have been identified in the literature and are discussed in this paper. This paper also offers suggestions on the implementation of these disruptive technologies for practitioners of smart cities, so that they can consider them while digitalizing smart cities. In addition to discussing research implications, the paper also throws light on theoretical contributions and recommends ways to leverage these disruptive technologies for smart cities.

Abstract:
The relevance of youth in any society can never be overemphasized as they form the driving force for successful growth and development of nations across the globe. It therefore becomes important to evaluate youth’s sensitization and empowerment in Nigeria. Basically, the study was conducted to achieve two major objectives viz: to evaluate the challenges of youths’ sensitization and empowerment, and to examine the effects of effective youths’ sensitization and empowerment on the individuals, community and the nation at large. To achieve the objectives of the study, survey research design was adopted and 170 respondents were drawn out of the study population using simple random sampling technique. Questionnaire was utilized for data collection. The data collected were subjected to statistical analysis using simple percentage, mean and standard deviation. It was discovered from the findings of the study that some of the challenges of youths’ sensitization and empowerments were technology barriers, lack of social amenities, high illiteracy level, poverty, and bad governance, among others. The study recommended that the government and other non-governmental organizations should ensure that the youths are well sensitized and empowered. This in no small measure will facilitate increase in the gross domestic product (GDP) of the nation while some vices such as kidnapping, herdsmen invasion, internet fraud, and arm robbery among others would reduce drastically.

Average age, gender, income, disability, education and employment are selected as independent variables. The source of data is the annual Russian Monitoring of the Economic Situation and Health of the Population of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (RMES NRU HSE). In rural Russia, lockdowns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic have exacerbated the impact of the digital divide on rural communities and led to socio-economic consequences due to limited opportunities. As a result of the implementation of social isolation and quarantine measures, lack of Internet access has become a major risk for vulnerable groups of the rural population. As a result, they are deprived of the vital resources they need to overcome the pandemic economically, socially and educationally. In 2019, 2020 and 2021, an increase in the same indicators increases the risk of residents without access to the Internet falling into the group. Such predictors include incomplete secondary education, lack of work, old age and disability. All of them are challenges for further digitalization of the Russian agricultural sector.

Abstract:
This review presents the state-of-the-art research on IoT systems for optimized greenhouse environments. The data were analyzed using descriptive and statistical methods to infer relationships between the Internet of Things (IoT), emerging technologies, precision agriculture, agriculture 4.0, and improvements in commercial farming. The discussion is situated in the broader context of IoT in mitigating the adverse effects of climate change and global warming in agriculture through the optimization of critical parameters such as temperature and humidity, intelligent data acquisition, rule-based control, and resolving the barriers to the commercial adoption of IoT systems in agriculture. The recent unexpected and severe weather events have contributed to low agricultural yields and losses; this is a challenge that can be resolved through technology-mediated precision agriculture. Advances in technology have over time contributed to the development of sensors for frost prevention, remote crop monitoring, fire hazard prevention, precise control of nutrients in soilless greenhouse cultivation, power autonomy through the use of solar energy, and intelligent feeding, shading, and lighting control to improve yields and reduce operational costs. However, particular challenges abound, including the limited uptake of smart technologies in commercial agriculture, price, and accuracy of the sensors. The barriers and challenges should help guide future Research & Development projects and commercial applications.

Abstract:
This study was conducted to gain insights into the effects of developments in the digital space on business marketing interactions in the South African economy. The objective of the study was to identify and analyse the impact of the internet on corporate and social environments and the challenges or opportunities digital marketing presents to the marketing disciplines in business. Qualitative research was conducted through literature reviews based on contemporary research and global institutes/bodies’ reports, as well as primary research through telephonic interviews using a selected sample of marketing leaders from different organisations. Insights were sought on how the internet affected business-cum-marketing strategies and innovations. The findings revealed a continuous need for shifts in marketing approaches in line with the vast digitisation of most of the global space. Market stratification in South Africa affects marketing as stakeholders are at varying levels of adaptation of the internet in the South African economy. Another major finding was that the Southern African economy was stratified in terms of language, where English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu and Sesotho are dominant languages. Hence they warrant marketing representation for businesses to thrive. The dynamics of each cluster are varied, posing a challenge over and above the required internet-related adjustments. While gains are derived from the internationalisation of trade through the internet, the established challenges radiated around the continuous adaptation of digitalised marketing while keeping up with product innovations presented by the internet competition. Internet security was mostly outsourced and requires to be localised for customer confidence on data security and confidentiality issues.

Abstract:
Anthropologists and media analysts have long recognized the Internet and satellite channels as some of the most powerful tools that add tremendous value to the knowledge and experiences of youth. A common interpretation of this idea is that new media technologies have become an important source for information, news updates, cross-cultural communication, socializing, and entertainment. The effects of these tools on young people have predominantly been studied with respect to academic as well as health features. Drawing on data from a survey capturing the digital behaviors of Moroccan students, this article complements previous studies by examining the impact of Internet and satellite channels on the behaviors of Moroccan students. It explores the implicit and denotative consequences of modern media upon the values, behaviors, and lifestyles of young Moroccans. Further, the paper addresses the effects of the massive dissemination of global cultural products on teenagers’ attitudes towards their cultural values. Additionally, the research assumes that inducing behavioral change is overlooked once media outlets start demonizing the uniqueness of local cultures, thus ignite resistance to unconventional values among youth.

Abstract:
Abstract Development of fast Internet and constant growth of new information and communication technology brought to expansion of interconnections between modern companies and their business partners through new kind of business integration so called electronic business (ebusiness). As the new kind of business connection paradigm has been implemented and started expansion, justification of its use came into the scientific focus. Significant direct and tangible effects of the e-business application have been found and proven in large companies, but in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) these effects have still been the area of exploration. According to latest researches in this field this paper, as a part of dissertation proposal, deals with the issues in the existing methods for e-business direct effects measurement in business processes. This research shows lack of appropriate methods specifically oriented to SMEs. Dissertation proposal is focused on four main problems in measuring future effects of e-business implementation in business processes. The paper emphasizes these issues, whose solution will further lead to new methodology for measuring and assessing direct effects of e-business implementation in SMEs as part of business to business (B2B) communication and the exchange of structured electronic documents in business process cycle, from order to payment.

Abstract:
Rural regions in OECD countries have always faced development challenges, resulting from their: reliance on natural resources, small labour forces, and long distances from markets, as well as the effects of globalization. Now, in addition, their development opportunities are further constrained by: climate change requirements, increased economic fragility resulting from COVID and the lingering effects of the 2008 recession, and the uneven impacts of the Internet economy. But, from a rural development policy perspective, perhaps the most important new challenge is the rise of rural populism. While rural areas and people have long been seen as distinct from their urban counterparts, in the last two decades these gaps have grown. Importantly, while the internet and information and communications technology (ICT) were initially seen as providing opportunities to improve social cohesion and link rural and urban people and places, instead they seem to have increased tensions. Because the core values of urban and rural people have grown so far apart, it is more difficult to establish the political compromises that are required to form effective policy. Absent some reconciliation of these social and political differences, it is difficult to see how national government policy can evolve to meet new challenges. Consequently, the likelihood of national governments being able to identify and implement coherent rural development policies is reduced.

Abstract:
The current research aims to systematically review the impact of the Internet of Things (IoT) on online marketing, focusing on its opportunities and challenges. Using the PSALSAR methodology, this research delves deep into the literature to understand the nature of IoT influences. The analysis reveals that while IoT offers transformative potential for online marketing, it brings with it significant challenges. Among these challenges are concerns about security, consumer perceptions, and sustainability. Furthermore, there is a noticeable gap concerning the quantifiable impact of IoT on B2B online marketing effectiveness and the long-term customer perceptions of IoT-integrated products. The estimation of effects and opportunities as well as a detailed description of challenges is an important step in every technological development.

Abstract:
By increasing Internet of Things (IoT) development, it will face new challenges due to its application in various fields of science and industry. One of these challenges is the routing problem in communication which has many effects in various parts and the quality criteria of the IoT in communication. In this research, a new approach provide with an effective and optimal method for routing in the IoT, which will use 6LoWPAN as the default protocol. This protocol has qualitative weaknesses and its goal is to improve and extend it as much as possible with the Markov Reinforcement Learning (MRL). Improving power consumption and reducing energy beside quality of services criteria optimization is the main targets of this approach. The results represented the improvement of the proposed approach compared to other similar protocols such as Z-WAVE and Zig Bee and the classic 6LoWPAN protocol.
