Abstract:
Not only are Internet resources expanding exponentially, but they are becoming more sophisticated, incorporating a variety of multimedia and hypertext components. Internet documents on the World Wide Web may contain elaborately formatted text, color graphics, audio, and video as well as dynamic connections to other Internet resources via hypertext links. In addition to providing user-friendly access to hypermedia resources, most Web browsers (client software) provide a rich graphical environment for authoring and displaying electronic documents locally. This article describes the World Wide Web and a sampling of the available Web browsers. It then discusses a testproject developed at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries designed to explore the potential, demands, and pitfalls of Web access to the Internet, as well as to investigate hypermedia document creation in an academic libraryenvironment. The experiences with the project qonfirmed the importance of the World Wide Web and Web browsers to this environment, so much so that providing access to these Internet resources must be seen as mandatory to any academic or upper level educational library providing electronic information access.

Abstract:
Radical individual and organizations are setting strong foothold on Internet. They operate in dark network hidden from authorities view to pursuade, recruit, and coordinate radical and violent actions. The presence of radical individual and organizations onInternet sites have caused massive debate and contraversi among Internet users, law enforcement bodies, and policy makers regarding misuse of Internet. However, little is known how exactly radical individual and organizations deliver their propaganda on Internet and what radical organizations practice such activities on Internet. Through the use of content analysis approach, this study analyzed various radical websites content to provide deep insight of radical operation and propaganda on Internet. Data was collected from various popular radical organization websites and previous studies. The findings show that well-kown organized radical and terorist oragnizations in Indonesia and International have intensively used Internet for new arena to radical and terror public across the globe. They use Internet topursuade, deliver propaganda to a global audience, recruit new members, communicate with international supporters, solicit donations, and fostering public awareness. Abstract:
This paper reports on the process of searching with Irish words on the Irish language version of the Google Internet search engine. Five words from ‘typical’ and ‘non-typical’ domains for Irish are used, and the results are analysed in terms of the “authenticity” of the search process and results, the language usage in the sites found through the search process, and the domains represented by the results. The study identifies a number of problems encountered when searching for results in a ‘small’ language. It also indicates that the ‘official’ sector and other sectors closely related to language policy and planning are the main providers of monolingual Irish texts on the Internet, with a variety of mixed Irish and English approaches favoured by other providers.

To be successful, handheld computers known as Personal Travel Assistants (PTAs) must be connected to external information sources. The viability of using the Internet and the world wide web (www) as such sources is explored. Considerations include whether www is flexible and robust enough to support various travel applications, whether to use a simulated passenger transportation terminal, and whether existing Internet protocols would be appropriate for PTAs.

Abstract:
This article first examines the difference between two very familiar and sometimes synonymous terms, the Internet and the Web. The article then explains the relationship between the Web's protocol HTTP and other high-level Internet protocols, such as Telnet and FTP, as well as provides a brief history of Web development. Next, the article analyzes the mechanism in which a Web browser (client) "talks" to a Web server on the Internet. Finally, the article studies the market growth for Web browsers and Web servers between 1993 and 1999. Two statistical sources were used in the Web market analysis: a survey conducted by the University of Delaware Libraries for the 122 members of the Association of Research Libraries, and the data for the entire Web industry from different Web survey agencies.

Now, Berners-Lee, the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and the World Wide Web Foundation are launching a series of initiatives to mark the 25th anniversary of the original proposal, and to raise awareness of themes linked to the web, such as freedom, accessibility and privacy.

Abstract:
This paper attempts to give a broad picture about the social distribution of the use of the internet, in its first part referring to international aspects, then giving a more detailed account of Romanian peculiarities. The author – Katalin Ravasz – is a sociologist and works with the Institute of Research Programs, Kolozsvár. According to comparative data, the price of a home internet connection is quite high in Romania, but we also have to consider that the label „too expensive" arises through social construction in a given context. That is, the perception „too expensive" doesn't form an absolute category, but is strongly subjective and socially determined. It is also probable that a reference to material causes could hide other kinds of lacks. The high rate of answers referring to material causes indicates the necessity of an analysis from the perspective of material status
