Montpellier 1, 2006. http://www.theses.fr/2006MON10061.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The Web presents enormous opportunities for marketing. The growth and reach of the Internet is unparalleled. There are virtually no limits to the things that can be done but your own imagination. Practitioners and academics alike have raised this new medium to the skies. Yet, the results of Internet marketing efforts have not always lived up to the expectations. This books presents some new insights into the prerequisites for Web marketing effectiveness. Web advertising in theory and practice has mainly focused on the transportation of Internet users to target Web sites. The predominant form of transporters, banner ads, have been evaluated on their clickthrough rates and the target Web sites have been evaluated mainly in terms of number and duration of visits and attitudes toward the sites. Is this adequate? This thesis suggests that Web advertising needs to be advanced with more qualified objectives and tools of evaluation. The goal should not necessarily be transportation of Internet users to target Web sites. Banner ads may work as ads in their own right. Target Web sites need to be evaluated based on the communication objectives. The traditional logic of Web advertising is challenged and the thesis suggests that Internet marketing could be much more effective if designed and evaluated differently. The thesis consists of five articles based on empirical studies. The articles cover Web advertising and promotion effectiveness with respect to a number of important factors, such as involvement, product type, brand familiarity, ad wearout, and Internet user experience. The behaviors of visitors to a retail site are also studied, with important implications for Web site and promotion design.

Abstract:
Young people are at risk of sexually transmitted infections (STI), and engage in sex and drug related risk behaviour. This thesis investigates novel methods to reach youth for research and health promotion. Mobile phone text messages (SMS) are convenient, low cost, fast, and popular among youth. SMS has been utilised in sexual health for clinical management, service delivery and health promotion, but few of these projects have been evaluated. Recognising this lack of research led to the design of a randomised controlled trial investigating the use of SMS and email in sexual health promotion. Recruitment of young people for this trial was piloted at Melbourne’s Big Day Out. 939 young people were recruited in several hours; 30% were classified as being at high risk of STI, and 46% had used illicit drugs in the month prior to the survey. Knowledge of STI was poor. Drug use was associated with both sexual risk behaviour and music preference. The study demonstrated that this festival is a valuable site for sex and drugs research and health promotion. The following year, young people were recruited at the music festival and randomised to an intervention group who received regular sexual health SMS and email, or a control group who received no messages. After 12 months, the intervention group had higher STI knowledge than the control group (OR 2.72, 95%CI 1.68, 4.41) and intervention group females were more likely to have had an STI test (OR 2.51, 95%CI 1.11, 5.69). Respondents’ opinions of the messages were favourable. This simple, low-cost, and novel method was shown to be effective in improving young people’s sexual health. At-risk young people are not well represented in sex and drug behavioural surveillance in Australia. As the pilot study identified that a music festival was a suitable site for sex and drug research, the survey was repeated each year. Between 2005 and 2008, the proportion of young people at risk of STI decreased from 34% to 29%, and recent illicit drug use decreased from 46% to 43%. A limitation of the studies described herein is reliance on self-report, which is subject to recall bias; this can be reduced using diaries to collect behavioural data. Participants completed weekly diaries of sexual behaviour and a retrospective questionnaire. Correlation between the diaries and questionnaire was substantial, adding confidence to the validity of results of other studies in this thesis. Diaries can be collected in different ways; SMS has not previously been used for this purpose. Participants were randomised to complete diaries through SMS, online or paper. Online diaries were superior to SMS in completeness and participant preference, but SMS diaries were more likely to be submitted on time. This thesis has tested several novel options for researching and promoting health to young people. Through music festivals, SMS, and email, young people can be reached through settings and media they are familiar with. Use of these novel methods has increased understanding of risk behaviour among youth and been effective in sexual health promotion.

Abstract:
This research describes the design and evaluation of an internet-based universal program for use in schools with adolescent students to prevent common mental disorders and promote mental health. The research began in response to investigations that showed that rates of mental illness in Australian children, teenagers and adults were high, that these illnesses caused significant burden to individuals and society, and that there were insufficient services to treat. When current interventions are unable to alleviate disease burden it is important to focus on prevention. Mental health prevention should target youth before disorders cause disability and restriction of life choices. A review of the mental health prevention literature supported a universal cognitive behavioural approach in schools. Internet delivery was used to maintain content integrity, enable access to people living in regional and remote areas, and to appeal to young people. Internet delivery makes universal prevention cost effective and feasible. The Intervention Mapping approach was used to direct the design of the program. A feasibility study was conducted to gain opinions from students and teaching staff. Changes were made in light of results from this study and 463 students were then exposed to the program in an effectiveness trial. The effectiveness trial was a before-after design with no control group. Results from this trial provided evidence that the program was acceptable and effective for use by teachers in the intervention schools. Also student behaviour and mood changed in beneficial ways after program administration. Specifically, student reported significantly increased knowledge about stress and coping, use of help-seeking behaviours, and life satisfaction, and significantly decreased use of avoidance behaviours, total difficulties and psychological distress. The study design allows causal inferences to be surmised concerning exposure to the intervention and changes in behaviour and mood, but further evidence is needed before firm conclusions about effectiveness can be posited and generalizations made concerning different populations, settings and times. In conclusion, this thesis provides evidence that a computerised, cognitive behavioural mental health prevention program delivered to adolescent school students by teachers can potentially change student coping behaviours and mood in beneficial ways.

"everyBody–Tailored online health promotion and eating disorder prevention for women: Study protocol of a dissemination trial." Elsevier, 2018. https://tud.qucosa.de/id/qucosa%3A32369.

Full text
Abstract:
Background: Although there is extensive evidence for the efficacy of online eating disorder (ED) prevention programs in clinical trials, these programs have rarely been adopted beyond the trial phase and offered to a wider audience. As risk factors for eating disorders are partly associated with overweight and overweight in turn is correlated to disordered eating, this study will offer a combined eating disorder prevention program which also promotes a balanced lifestyle to normal weight and overweight individuals alike. The efficacy of the program has been proven in previous trials. The study aims to evaluate the dissemination of a combined eating disorder prevention and health promotion program (everyBody) to women of all age groups and varying levels of ED risk status in the general population. Methods: A dissemination trial will be conducted in German-speaking countries, including 4160 women from the general population. Participants will be screened to exclude participants who are likely to have an ED. Eligible participants will be allocated to one of five program arms based on their BMI and respective ED symptoms. The guided program consists of 4 to 12 weeks of weekly sessions offering CBT-based exercises, psychoeducational material, self-monitoring, and group discussions. Outcomes will be assessed according to the RE-AIM model, including measures of effectiveness, reach, adoption, implementation, and maintenance of the program. Discussion/conclusions: This trial aims to disseminate a combined ED prevention and health promotion program in the general population, offering universal, selective and indicated prevention in one program. To our knowledge, it is the first trial to systematically evaluate dissemination efforts based on the RE-AIM model. This trial will be conducted as part of the EU-funded ICare (Integrating Technology into Mental Health Care Delivery in Europe) project.

Larsson, Ellinor. "Promoting social activities and participation among seniors : exploring and evaluating social and Internet-based occupational therapy interventions." Doctoral thesis, Umeå universitet, Arbetsterapi, 2016. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:umu:diva-114436.

Full text
Abstract:
Introduction The use of technology and Internet-based activities (IBAs) is increasing in society. However, seniors with limited experiences with the Internet can experience restricted participation in meaningful activities that are dependent on the Internet. Also, social transitions during aging might lead to reduced social activities and social contacts and to increased experiences of loneliness, all of which might have negative health implications. Therefore, there is a need to advance the knowledge of how occupational therapists can support seniors’ use of IBAs and create opportunities for social contacts and social activities during aging. Aim The overall aim of this thesis is to increase the knowledge of how Internet-based activities influence seniors’ participation in society, how seniors experience and are influenced by support from a social Internet-based occupational therapy intervention, and how different aspects of this intervention can contribute to healthy ageing. Methods In study I, seniors’ experiences of IBAs were explored and described through interviews with 10 seniors (66–82 years old) that were analyzed with the constant comparative method. In study II, a multiple case study with five seniors (65–85 years old) was used to explore the design of an Internet-based occupational therapy social intervention program and how it influenced social activities and social contacts among the participants. The qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources were analyzed by pattern matching. In study III, an explorative randomized crossover study with an AB/BA design was conducted with 30 seniors (61–89 years old) who were vulnerable to loneliness and who participated in the intervention program. The quantitative data were analyzed with parametric and non-parametric statistics. In study IV, a qualitative interview study was conducted to collect the experiences of 15 seniors (66–87 years old) from the previous intervention process in study III. The interviews were analyzed with the constant comparative method. All participants in studies I–IV were community-dwelling, retired seniors without home-care services.   Results Complex interactions of different aspects influence seniors’ possibilities and preferences for taking part in IBAs. The performance of IBAs yielded different experiences of participation in society (study I). The initial explorative results indicated that the client-centered and individually adapted intervention program supports participation in social IBAs (SIBAs) and other social contexts (study II). After participation in the intervention program, the experiences of loneliness significantly decreased, and satisfaction with social contacts on the Internet increased for one group (study III). If an individual’s requirements are met during the intervention process, experiences of habitual SIBA usage, increased self-reliance, and enriched social contacts and social activities both on and off the Internet might be facilitated (study IV). Conclusion This thesis provides knowledge of how social support, experiences of and accessibility to technology, life-changing events, and identified meaningfulness with online activities influence the motivation to participate in social and Internet-based activities. The occupational therapist should address the individual’s perspective in the intervention program so as to adapt the intervention and to support experiences of satisfactory participation and enhanced social activities and social contacts for seniors. In addition, healthy aging might be supported by the intervention program due to the reduction in loneliness and increased participation in social activities and society. Further evaluation of the framework and content of the intervention program for seniors with restricted participation in IBAs and SIBAs and high levels of loneliness is suggested.

Benilsi, Stéphane. "Essai sur la gratuité en droit privé." Montpellier 1, 2006. http://www.theses.fr/2006MON10033.

Full text
Abstract:

Abstract:
Internet marketing is critical for meeting changing consumer needs and staying competitive in the business environment. Small business owners need strategies on how to use Internet marketing to promote their products or services. The purpose of this multiple case study was to explore how 5 small business owners in Maryland developed and implemented an online marketing strategy. Participants were recruited for their roles as the chief decision maker of their business; additional prerequisites for their participation were that they used Internet marketing, represented different industries, and had fewer than 20 employees. Data came from semi-structured interviews with the small business owners, direct observations of the firms' online marketing processes and technology, and evaluation of companies' use of different Internet marketing channels. The data analysis strategy drew on resource-based view theory propositions, examinations of conflicting explanations discovered during the literature review, and cross-case synthesis. The 5 emergent themes encompassed unstructured planning, limited Internet marketing knowledge and expertise, use of Internet marketing channels and tools, lack of systematic approach to the management of Internet marketing, and inadequate measurement of Internet marketing efforts. By engaging in Internet marketing strategy planning, acquiring specialized Internet marketing knowledge, measuring marketing performance, and extending their Internal marketing resources through outsourcing, small business owners may develop and implement successful online marketing strategies. These findings may influence positive social change by contributing to more effective and efficient marketing practices in small firms that can lead to better financial performance, higher survival rates, and a healthier economic system.

Thesis, Brest, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017BRES0041/document.

Full text
Abstract:
Cloud computing is often the most referenced computational model for Internet of Things. This model adopts a centralized architecture where all sensor data is stored and processed in a sole location. Despite of many advantages, this architecture suffers from a low scalability while the available data on the network is continuously increasing. It is worth noting that, currently, more than 50% internet connections are between things. This can lead to the reliability problem in realtime and latency-sensitive applications. Edge-computing which is based on a decentralized architecture, is known as a solution for this emerging problem by: (1) reinforcing the equipment at the edge (things) of the network and (2) pushing the data processing to the edge.Edge-centric computing requires sensors nodes with more software capability and processing power while, like any embedded systems, being constrained by energy consumption. Hybrid hardware systems consisting of FPGA and processor offer a good trade-off for this requirement. FPGAs are known to enable parallel and fast computation within a low energy budget. The coupled processor provides a flexible software environment for edge-centric nodes.Applications design for such hybrid network/software/hardware (SW/HW) system always remains a challenged task. It covers a large domain of system level design from high level software to low-level hardware (FPGA). This result in a complex system design flow and involves the use of tools from different engineering domains. A common solution is to propose a heterogeneous design environment which combining/integrating these tools together. However the heterogeneous nature of this approach can pose the reliability problem when it comes to data exchanges between tools. Our motivation is to propose a homogeneous design methodology and environment for such system. We study the application of a modern design methodology, in particular object-oriented design (OOD), to the field of embedded systems. Our choice of OOD is motivated by the proven productivity of this methodology for the development of software systems. In the context of this thesis, we aim at using OOD to develop a homogeneous design environment for edge-centric systems. Our approach addresses three design concerns: (1) hardware design where object-oriented principles and design patterns are used to improve the reusability, adaptability, and extensibility of the hardware system. (2) hardware / software co-design, for which we propose to use OOD to abstract the SW/HW integration and the communication that encourages the system modularity and flexibility. (3) middleware design for Edge Computing. We rely on a centralized development environment for distributed applications, while the middleware facilitates the integration of the peripheral nodes in the network, and allows automatic remote reconfiguration. Ultimately, our solution offers software flexibility for the implementation of complex distributed algorithms, complemented by the full exploitation of FPGAs performance. These are placed in the nodes, as close as possible to the acquisition of the data by the sensors† in order to deploy a first effective intensive treatment

Abstract:

The aim of this two years master’s thesis in library and information science is to study how children and librarians recommend books through the website Barnens bibliotek. In the scope of this aim it also tries to answer the following questions: What qualities in books do children and librarians respectively emphasize when they write book recommendations? How do they formulate the recommendations? And finally, how do their respective recommendations differ?

To examine these aspects a total of 50 book recommendations were chosen and analysed through an hermeneutic approach. Out of these 50, 30 were written by children and 20 were written by librarians. The recommendations were analysed through Louise Rosenblatt's theoretical framework concerning literary responses combined with Alan C. Purves' och Victoria Rippere's model of literary elements. The theoretical workings of Aidan Chambers were also used for drawing conclusions about how to connect the results of literary responses to everyday library work whether it is in a library or on the Internet.

The main results were that children turn inwards referring to themselves and their personal feelings when communicating a literary experience, while librarians turn outward communicating a literary content. Both parts do seem clearly aware that they are mediating a literary experience to a third part, which of course is expected of the librarians but a bit unexpected in the case of the children. Both parts refer basically to the same qualities when recommending books, even though they do it in different ways. And finally regarding the formula of writing a book recommendation, librarians tend to keep to a set structure of literary responses while children are more likely to mix the set of literary responses. The results also point to how important it is for library workers to understand the readers to better develop collections and programs that adress and respond to reader’s interests.

Approach health promotion in relation to sexuality and STD/HIV/AIDS in adolescents is a challenge in which beliefs, opinions, personal and collective values should be considered. Thus, given the need to build a critical-reflexive space with adolescents within the church, it is pointed out that building a website about sexuality and STD/HIV/AIDS , facing adolescents involved in religious groups, can contribute for a reflection on the topic and facilitate the understanding and development of a critical and autonomous conception of sexuality, faith and health. In this context, the study has the following objectives: to describe the process of creating a website called Teen Chat, which provides information about sexuality and STD/HIV/AIDS; validate the appearance and content of the website Teen Chat with experts in area of health education, theology, computing and design, as well as Catholic teenagers. Study type research and methodological development and validation, developed according to the stages of construction of digital learning material proposed by Falkembach, which consisted of: planning and analysis, modeling, implementation, evaluation and maintenance, and distribution. The evaluation was performed by 14 experts in the fields of nursing, health education, theologians, computing and design and five teenagers. The study followed the ethical-legal aspects related to research involving human subjects in accordance with the CAAE 05941212.1.0000.5054. From the focus groups emerged categories: Internet is information, entertainment and communication; Feelings awakened by the use of the Internet; On the Internet, there are things I like and do not like, and teen chat should be informative and attractive as well. The website covering meetings: religion, adolescence, sexuality, STD/HIV/AIDS prevention, leading questions, and information about the site, music, online bible and a topic on "How to date a boy or girl from God" were also included tools "contact us" and "discussion Forum". In the validation by the judges- content experts the VCI was satisfactory, since most of the items was ≥ 0.80, however the items dealing with authority, use of graphics, images, information and research source used had VCI ≤ 0,80. It is noteworthy that all suggested changes, such as reorganization of content, including references, graphical changes, among others. Validation of teenagers, all items had VCI ≥ 0.80, they expressed satisfaction and learning to navigate the website. Most of the suggestions issued by the evaluators was incorporated into the final website. Therefore, it is concluded that the website Teen Chat is valid and available for use on the World Wide Web, or Internet, thus becoming innovative technology aimed at teenagers, especially Catholics, who can contribute to the knowledge and reflection on issues related to sexuality and STD/HIV/AIDS. It is noteworthy, however, the need to evaluate its effectiveness with Catholic teenagers. Stresses the importance of this Web site as an educational tool in health, in order to strengthen actions to prevent STD/HIV/AIDS, solidifying interdisciplinary practice, as required in nursing, primarily aimed at the promotion of adolescent health.

Abstract:
Background: Adolescents and young people of the 21st century represent the first generation togrow up with the new digital technology and view it as an integrated part of their lives. Previousstudies show that young people value the potential of the Internet for acquiring information thatotherwise might be difficult to obtain. They also recognize the potential of the Internet for meetingand developing relationships with other people. Young people face diverse challenges during theirtransition from childhood to adulthood and need to have easy access to health information and socialsupport. Developing the potential of the Internet as a source of health information and social supportrequires increased information about young people's own views and preferences. The aim of thestudy was to deepen the knowledge about young people’s views on the role of the Internet inpromoting health and wellbeing. Method: Focusgroupdiscussions were conducted and included 26youths between 16 and 20 years of age, divided into six groups. Collected data was analyzed usingmodified grounded theory. The results show ambivalence among young people regarding the role ofthe Internet in promoting health and well-being. Although young people report a positive view of theInternet and their experience with it, they were very aware of its negative aspects and tried to findstrategies to minimize those aspects. Despite this ambivalence, the young people in this studyconsidered the Internet as an essential part of their lives and a natural source of health informationand social interaction. Conclusions: Efforts should be made to minimize the negative aspects of theInternet in order offer young people access to health information and social support in ways that suitsthem.

Abstract:
An increased exposure to the sexual content of traditional mass media (i.e., television, magazines, movies, music) affects real life sexual behaviors among adolescents. Engaging in online risk behaviors such as sharing/posting sexual content using social networking sites, cellphones, smartphones, IPads, or other new media devices has become common among adolescents. The purpose of this quantitative, correlation study, based upon the theory of reasoned action and three pre-existing national surveys, was to determine whether significant associations exist between attitudes, intentions, and behaviors related to online risk behaviors and real life sexual behaviors among African American female adolescents in Metro Atlanta. Data were collected from 111 African American female adolescents residing in the Metro Atlanta. Statistical analyses included the Pearson r correlation, phi coefficient correlation, and logistic regression tests. According to study results, there were no significant relationships between attitudes and behaviors concerning online risk behaviors and real life sexual behaviors, age and attitudes of online risk behaviors, or relationship status and online risk behaviors. However, a significant relationship was found between age and engaging in online risk behavior. The positive social change implications include further insight for those working in the area of adolescent sexual health prevention and promotion. The findings can be used to better understand the impact of online risk behaviors on adolescent sexual health and how new media platforms can be effectively used to tailor prevention programs and campaigns.

Abstract:
Introduction: Using of on-line tools in face-to-face (F2F) courses shall be consider a potencial facilitator of continuing education, due to its interactive capability, asynchronous nature, and lack of geographic limits. Objectives: a) identify marker concepts to clinical practice of health promotion, b) develop on-line teaching materials, and c) evaluate use and impact of those tools on the learning (at a blended experience basis) on health promotion. Methods: Teaching materials on-line (blogs, e-mails list, crosswords) were developed with free softwares. At 2008, the researcher performed the role of tutor. This study was a qualitative-quantitative survey, envolved support documents of F2F experience and 211 learners of extension course of FMUSP about practice of health promotion. The qualitative data included documental analysis, focus group and OSCE Objective Structured Clinical Examination. The quantitative measures were taken by test on the conclusion of the module, and also a questionnaire about personal and professional behaviors, besides acess and familiarity with computer. Results: a) choice of 10 interprofessional markers concepts, b) webliography (34 links) and interactive tools, c) the interest in use of new technology rises during classes. The presence of tutor has contributed to increase number of blogs visits and number of learners who participated of e-mails list. The involvement in both tools was amplified before the tests. A modest gain of knowledge occurred, with minor effect between physicians. The confidence for practices of screening, couseling and preventive medicine were improved, especially among specialization learners. The motivation for change personal behaviors, related of nutrition and physical activity, increases too. Qualitative analysis put on highlights the four ways to learn proposed by Jaques Delors (learn to learn, learn to do, learn to live together, and learn to be). However, few results were associated with technology use. Conclusion: identification of markers concepts has been made. A webliography about health promotion has been allowed to health professionals as select relevant interprofessional scientific literature. The progressive inclusion of new technology neither have changed the gain of knowledge, nor have modified personal or professional behaviours. Nevertheless, the tutor presence with interactive teaching materials on-line demonstrated differences in ways of learn to learn and learn to live together

Abstract:
Increasing lifestyle-related ill health, escalating health care costs, expanding health inequalities within and between nations, and an aging population are challenges facing governments globally. Governments, especially in industrialized countries like Sweden, are investing in health promotion and health communication, especially in ICT-supported health communication as a way to increase health literacy and empowerment at individual and population levels. Studies show that many eHealth communication efforts are narrow in scope, medical oriented and therefore not enough to address the complexity of lifestyle-related ill health and equity issues. This thesis proposes integrating health promotion values and principles in the design process of eHealth systems for health promotion in order to develop usable, sustainable, engaging, eHealth resources that are adaptable to their context of use and user’s skills. The overall aim of this thesis was study the participatory development process of an interactive ICT-supported health communication channel for health promotion and enhancing health literacy in PHC context. Participatory Action Research (PAR) with a multi-phase and multi-method approach was used in this thesis. A model entitled Spiral Technology Action Research’ (STAR) was used to guide the development of the health channel. This design process was framed in three developmental and evaluation phases corresponding to formative, process and outcome evaluation. A total of 146 participants consisting of professionals from primary health care services, information technology and academia, and local citizens participated in the project’s different phases. A triangulation of methods was used to collect the data; survey, document analysis, participatory observations with field notes, individual interviews, focus groups, think aloud protocols and log statistics. Qualitative and quantitative content analyses were used to analyse data. The results revealed that integrating health promotion values and principles in the design process proved to be valuable not only to the content of the channel, but also in PHC practice. The different design phases yielded valuable results that built into each other and contributed to an eHealth channel that was perceived as relevant to the local people’s need for health communication; accessible and user friendly. The results also indicated that an Internet based interactive health channel, could be a valuable resource for enhancing health literacy if users are involved in the design.

Abstract:
Background: Research shows a strong connection between pupils exposed to harassment and to physical and mental illness. Harassment occurring on the internet are perceived by teens as extra harmful to their mental health. School nurses have the opportunity to prevent harassment and to promote health on three different levels; individual,- interpersonal,- and system level. Aim: The purpose of the study was to investigate the school nurses’ experiences in preventing harassment in schools and on the internet.  Method: A qualitative methodology was used in the study and the results were analyzed by content analysis. Seven school nurses in Sweden have been interviewed by email.  Result: Three categories appeared in the result: to be available to pupils and their guardians, to talk with pupils and to cooperate.  Conclusion: The study shows that school nurses demonstrate broad experiences in preventing harassment. These experiences occur primarily in the individual-oriented and interpersonal work level. Experiences at the system level are less occuring. It appears there were varied experiences of norm-critical perspective as a working method.

INTRODUCTION. Radio is an effective medium for health knowledge dissemina-tion. Internet radio is an alternative that can help expanding this dissemination. The gray literature describes experiences in health communication using internet radio that can be a prime body of knowledge for model construction. These expe-riences are particularly valuable as a point of reference for expanding the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) communication activities of disseminating health knowledge to the Brazilian community. OBJECTIVES. To construct and evaluate an internet-based radio model for health knowledge dissemination. ME-THODS. The study was carried out in six steps: 1) literature review of studies on radio as an educational medium in Brazil; 2) search of reports of previous projects developed on radio and education and radio and health; 3) systematic review on radio and health promotion; 4) trial with students of the Open Universi-ty of the Third Age (UATI) at UNIFESP; 5) construction of an internet-based radio model, and 6) evaluation of the model constructed. RESULTS. The literature re-view and reports of previous projects served as a base for the construction of the proposed model. The trial with UATI students provided data for the production of contents focusing on the third age. The systematic review confirmed the hypo-thesis that radio is an effective vehicle for health knowledge dissemination. The web portal was made available to the audience (http://www.radiosaude.unifesp.br) with 30 audio products and the average ap-proval rates were as follows: credibility and comprehensibility, 100.0%; useful-ness, 96.8%; immediate approval, 87.0%; and SUS usability, 86.5%. Abstract:
Mestrado em Comunicação Multimédia
COSMO FEST (CF) is a very small independent film festival held in Tokyo, Japan, that is now in its fourth year after starting in 2012 as a student project. This study, which is best thought of as a pilot study, investigates ways in which CF can make use of the Social Network Sites Twitter and Facebook as a promotional tool for attracting attendees to the festival. The data used for the study are Twitter tweets (and retweets) and Facebook posts (and likes) found on the Twitter and Facebook pages of three other Japan-based film festivals: the Tokyo Student Film Festival, The Chigasaki Film Festival (a small city-based festival) and the much larger Tokyo International Film Festival. By looking carefully at this small set of data a surprisingly useful set of insights emerged that can inform the Social Media strategy of CF in the future. ChiFF among these is the weak emphasis on “Theme” as an organizing principle each year that these festivals exhibit in general and through their use of Twitter and Facebook. This finding suggests the potential for CF to brand itself as distinct from other film festivals by establishing a strong thematic orientation each year. Other insights gained from the study were to do with the research process itself, particularly the potential for an open-minded and multi-dimensional probing of a small set of data to yield rich results.

Abstract:
This research revolves around the independent cumbia groups studied from two comunications perspectives: digital marketing and public relations. One of the main characteristics of these artists is self-management, that is why social networks and streaming services are two relevant tools for the diffusion of their songs, reason why it is interesting to know how they manage to do it with few resources, many of them, free and available to most people. Thus, this article will seek to describe the strategies that independent cumbia groups use for communicating their music on the internet and thus be able to understand how the digital media have contributed to the promotion of their songs. For this, as a methodology, the naturalistic interpretive paradigm was used, which is based on obtaining information through the actors involved in their natural context; the approach was qualitative and because a phenomenon is studied, a phenomenological design was used. Finally, interviews were conducted with members of the independent Lima and Arequipa cumbia groups.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Background: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a major challenge for public health authorities in Canada and regular physical activity is a key factor in the management of this disease. Given that less than half of people with T2D in Canada are sufficiently active to meet the recommendations, effective programs targeting the adoption of regular PA are in demand for this population. Many researchers argued that web-based tailored interventions targeting PA is a promising and effective avenue for sedentary populations like Canadians with T2D, but few aimed to describe the detailed development of this kind of intervention. Objective: This master’s thesis aims to describe the systematic development of the Diabète en Forme (DEF) web-based tailored intervention promoting regular PA among adult Canadian Francophones with T2D, which can be used as a reference for health professionals interested in developing similar interventions. This master’s thesis also explores the integration of theoretical components derived from the I-Change Model, Self-Determination (SDT) Theory and Motivational Interviewing (MI), a potential path for enhancing the effectiveness of tailored interventions on PA adoption and maintenance. Method: The intervention was built using an adaptation of the program-planning model for tailored interventions developed by Kreuter and his colleagues. An additional step was added to the model to evaluate the intervention’s usability prior to the implementation phase. Results: An eight-week intervention was developed using a theoretical framework integrating the three models previously mentioned. The key components of the intervention include a self-monitoring tool for PA behaviour, a weekly action planning tool and eight tailored motivational sessions based on attitude, self-efficacy, intention, type of motivation, PA behaviour and other constructs and techniques. Usability evaluation, a step added to the original program-planning model, helped to make several improvements to the intervention prior to the implementation phase. Conclusion: Usability evaluation is an essential step in the development of a web-based tailored intervention in order to make pre-implementation improvements. The effectiveness and relevance of the theoretical framework used for the intervention will be analyzed following the process and impact evaluation. Implications for future research are discussed.

Sales Promotion (SP) traditionally is one of the most important tools of marketing communication or promotion. Recently, internet marketing is used widely across the business world. Due to the fact that power of personal selling is strictly reduced and restricted in internet or on-line marketing, the role of sales promotion has increased a lot. Many internet stores choose various sales promotion practices and even formulate sales promotion strategy to guide their SP practices. While most of the existing internet marketing papers study single SP practice, this research tries to study integrated internet SP practice and use it as the main construct. This research tries to develop suitable classification of internet SP strategy. Furthermore, this research explores main influencing factors of internet SP strategy, including characteristics of internet uers. The SP effects include short effect, consumer value, satisfaction and loyalty will also be investigated. The research findings are as follows: 1. Internet SP types are related to internet SP effectiveness, including short-term effect, consumer value, satisfaction and loyalty. 2. SP duration is related to internet SP effectiveness. 3. Some fits between internet SP types and SP duration are significantly related to internet SP effectiveness, including attractiveness of short-term effects and consumer value. 4. Internet user characteristics are significantly related to preferred internet SP categories. 5. Internet user characteristics are significantly related to internet SP effectiveness, including sex and average monthly income.
