Abstract:
This article analyses the possibility offered by the Internet to select radio content to build customized radios. Each internet user could select radio content, replacing the traditional radio stations that have always broadcasted. Previous results from our investigations are presented to allow us to compare the still-existing traditional radio to some of the offers on the Internet. Such a comparison will allow us to determine two different ways of listening to the radio on the Internet: the usual one, which allows the coexistence of listening and any parallel social practice (work, driving, etc.), and another one, appropriate to the internet, that adds visual attention to hearing. It is unavoidable to consider this as a loss compared to the visual independence that radio has always allowed.

Abstract:
The Internet of Things (IoT) is poised to revolutionise the way we live and communicate, and the manner in which we engage with our social and natural world. In the IoT, objects such as household items, vending machines and cars have the ability to sense and share data with other things, via wireless, Bluetooth, or Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) technology. "Smart things" have the capability to control their performance, as well as our experiences and decisions. In this exploratory paper, we overview recent developments in the IoT technology, and their relevance for criminology. Our aim is to partially fill the gap in the literature, by flagging emerging issues criminologists and social scientists ought to engage with in the future. The focus is exclusively on the IoT while other advances, such as facial recognition technology, are only lightly touched upon. This paper, thus, serves as a starting point in the conversation, as we invite scholars to join us in forecasting-if not preventing-the unwanted consequences of the "future Internet".

Abstract:

Abstract:
The design of internet radio services for conventional radio, especially in the city of Bandung was made, because at this time many new services have sprung up with various innovations that can create new markets and can also "disrupt" or damage existing markets. This happens in various industries, including the conventional radio industry. The presence of new services such as internet radio, audio streaming, or music streaming can disrupt the services provided by conventional radio, especially in the city of Bandung. This can reduce customers and conventional radio revenue. Radio internet services can be a radio solution to stay afloat. Therefore, the radio industry needs a radio internet service plan that can describe internet radio services ranging from business to information technology. This study aims to make the design of internet radio services that are expected to be a solution to increase the potential for conventional radio revenue. Internet Radio is designed not only as a live broadcast service as it is today, but must be able to provide services that remain in accordance with the expertise of the radio industry and also with additional capabilities that are more in line with customer needs today.

Abstract:
Mobility, redundancy, and bandwidth requirements are transforming the communication models used for IoT, mainly in case of Critical Communications and multimedia streaming (“IoMT, Internet of Multimedia Things”), as wireless video traffic is expected to be 60–75% of the global mobile traffic by 2020. One of the characteristics of 5G networks will be the proliferation of different/heterogeneous radio networks (virtualized radio access networks, RAN, new energy-efficient radios, femtocells, and offloading capabilities) and the possibility for IoT objects to connect and load-balance between dual and multiple RANs. This paper focuses on the possibility of using LISP (Locator Identifier Separation Protocol) for multihoming and load-balancing purposes and presents an illustrative scenario for the case of mobile IoT (e.g., the “things” part of vehicular or public transportation systems, PTS) that are also intensive bandwidth consumers, like the case of connected multimedia “things.” We have implemented and tested a demonstrator of a mobile LISP IoT gateway that is also integrated with Cloud-based video analytics.

The development of technology and communication has brought many changes, especially in broadcast industry. Since the internet era, people could listen to music through various media portals that they accessed through smartphones. This trend is known as media convergence, where there is an interlacing between internet and radio. The birth of media convergence in radio industry also gave rise to the term of ‘streaming’, where the content broadcasted live through the internet, in the form of audio and video. One of the streaming radio service providers in Indonesia is JOOX. This scientific work’s aim is to provide an overview and contribution to the era of new media, especially for music and radio industry. The concept of online strategy in music radio programming from Newton and Kaiser is being used. The result showed that JOOX is an audio visual based live streaming program that facilitates musicians to promote their new albums, as well as the place to interact with their fans through the live-chat feature as a form of engagement.

We present a live streaming app for Android And iOS devices and Web using URL. The app is useful for three reasons first, all your favorite radio stations will be grouped in one place, and hence, you can easily play and switch from one station to another without any hassle. Second, it is an app that turns your device into a radio setting you listen to live streaming stations while in the office, on the road, or in any other setting. Third, it is the Voice assistant-based app that takes input from the User command and plays channel according to the command. The app is similar to Spotify but on a smaller scale. This application provides a facility to listen to your favorite music anytime, anywhere. It provides live streaming from radio stations all around the globe. It is distinct from on-demand file serving. Internet radio is also distinct from podcasting, which involves downloading rather than streaming. Many Internet radio services are associated with a corresponding traditional (terrestrial) radio station or radio network. Internet using radio stations are independent of such associations. Internet radio services are usually accessible from anywhere in the world. The app has two main contributions: 1) We describe all the steps and components needed to develop such an app. 2) We also discuss the functionality and the trade- offs using different components and approaches. Radio audiences will be formed of all segments of society even people who are handicapped.

Abstract:
Wake-up radio is a promising approach to mitigate the problem of idle listening, which incurs additional power consumption for the Internet of Things (IoT) wireless transmission. Radio frequency (RF) energy harvesting technique allows the wake-up radio to remain in a deep sleep and only become active after receiving an external RF signal to ‘wake-up’ the radio, thus eliminating necessary hardware and signal processing to perform idle listening, resulting in higher energy efficiency. This review paper focuses on cross-layer; physical and media access control (PHY and MAC) approaches on passive wake-up radio based on the previous works from the literature. First, an explanation of the circuit design and system architecture of the passive wake-up radios is presented. Afterward, the previous works on RF energy harvesting techniques and the existing passive wake-up radio hardware architectures available in the literature are surveyed and classified. An evaluation of the various MAC protocols utilized for the novel passive wake-up radio technologies is presented. Finally, the paper highlights the potential research opportunities and practical challenges related to the practical implementation of wake-up technology for future IoT applications.

Findings The main choice factors for spectrum are the practical application needs and the network cost model, and these are fairly useful as matching parameters. It is forecast that multiple bands will be needed and that these should be of a licence-exempt form to seed the unfettered innovation of IoT technologies and pre-empt the formation of significant market power by concerned interests. Practical implications The way in which spectrum is allocated today will need to be reconsidered, in the light of evolving IoT requirements, which will have increasing economic and social impacts. Policy recommendations for IoT spectrum demands are outlined, and key policy options to ensure a dynamic and trustworthy development of the IoT are put forward. For instance, regulatory barriers globally will need to be removed. Originality/value Current interests in the technical requirements of the IoT have not yet given a suitable analysis of the potential spectrum uses, because too often, it is assumed that previous models of spectrum allocation will continue in the future, without consideration of the economic pressures and social context.

Abstract:
Internet of Things is a system where people and things with unique identifiers are connected and able to interact with each other over a network without external intervention. To connect things anytime, network reliability is one of the main requirements for the Internet of Things, in which continuous service can be provided to nodes even in the event of a sudden network failure. To serve consistent quality of service for nodes in any case, we propose a radio resource sharing (R2S) method which consists of scheduling and power allocation using an optimization method. By evaluating performances with respect to average cell capacity and outage probability in simulations, we show that the R2S algorithm can solve a coverage hole problem efficiently in Internet of Things.

Abstract:
Abstract:

Abstract:
Tradicinės žiniasklaidos vartojimas Estijoje pastaraisiais metais laikomas gana stabiliu. Vidutinis TV žiūrėjimo laikas ženkliai augo iki 2003 m., o po to stabilizavosi. Current trends of media use in EstoniaPeeter Vihalemm SummayThe Estonian landscape of traditional media over to last two to three years can be characterised as relatively stable. The average TV viewing time in Estonia increased significantly up to the year 2003 and then stabilised. The general amount of radio listening was quite stable in 2000-2002, decreased from 2003 to 2006, and has since stabilised again. The share of regular newspaper readers among Estonian adult population was quite stable in 2000-2002, slightly decreased in 2003-2004, and then stabilised again. Since the year 2000, the interest in magazine reading, initially boosted by a new variety of titles, formats, and topics, has started to decrease.Ethnicity and education remain important factors affecting general media use, but the main factor has become age. Large disparities between age groups appear not only in Internet usage but also in newspaper and magazine reading, radio listening, and TV viewing. Among the youngest age groups we can refer to an Internet-centred media environment and about media convergence.Key words: media use, traditional media, Internet, Estonia, comparative research

Abstract:
The Internet of vehicles is an essential component for building smart cities that can improve traffic safety and provide multimedia entertainment services. The cognitive radio–enabled Internet of vehicles was proposed to resolve the conflict between the increasing demand of Internet of vehicles applications and the limited spectrum resources. The multi-hop transmission is one of the most important issues in cognitive radio–enabled Internet of vehicles networks. Nevertheless, most existing forwarding solutions designed for the cognitive radio–enabled Internet of vehicles did not consider the urban expressway scenario, where primary base stations are densely installed with small coverage areas. In this case, it is difficult to ensure that the sender and the receiver of the same cognitive radio link have similar channel availability statistics, which makes cognitive radio links more likely to be interrupted. To address this challenge, we develop a multi-hop forwarding scheme to minimize the end-to-end delay for such networks. We first formulate the delay minimization problem as a non-linear integer optimization problem. Then, we propose an approach to select the relay candidates by jointly considering the high mobility of vehicles and the unique cognitive radio spectrum usage distributions in urban expressway scenarios. Finally, we propose the low-latency forwarding strategies by considering the channel availability and the delay cost of different situations of relay candidates. Simulations show the advantages of our proposed scheme, compared with state-of-art methods.
