Abstract:
The internship program is an annual routine activity in all faculties at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). This program implements a link and match between educational institutions and industry but has not been evaluated comprehensively. Therefore, conducting program evaluation research using the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) model is important. The type of research used is program evaluation research with the CIPP model. Data collection techniques in this research used questionnaires, interviews, and focus group discussions. The research subjects were UNY students who were grouped into four groups. Data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results showed that the context aspect of the internship program (goals and objectives) was in accordance with the graduate profile set at UNY. However, the general policy for organizing internships during the pandemic still needs to be developed. The systems and procedures of the academic community support the internship program, but there is still a need to improve cooperation documents and internship information systems for all faculties. The implementation of the internship program is in accordance with the activity plan set at UNY, but SIPKL needs to be developed to equalize the perception of field supervisors. The product of the internship program is in accordance with the goals and objectives set at UNY, but some students (34.16%) still have not received a job offer from the internship site. The results of this research can contribute to developing a quality-oriented internship program, which will then positively impact the cooperation relationship between universities and industry. Thus, a good working relationship will benefit both parties and potentially develop cooperation in other programs.

Abstract:
Internship programs are organized depending on the program provider (school), so many students have a big difference in the internship experience. On the other hand, the campus has limitations in running the program, one of which is evaluating the achievement of the internship program. The purpose of this study is to build validity on the evaluation scale of the apprenticeship program for pre-service teachers using Kirkpatrick's four-level evaluation model. This type of research is quantitative with a confirmatory quantitative approach. The sample is 212 pre-service teachers. The methods used in collecting data are observation, tests, and questionnaires. Instruments used for test sheets and questionnaires. Data analysis used a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) approach with the SmartPLS v3.0 application. The analysis results are that the four-level evaluation model meets construct validity and proves accurate validation on the internship program evaluation scale. In particular, the internship program evaluation scale effectively tracks program achievements at each level. The implication is that academic stakeholders on campus can use this evaluation scale as a measuring tool to experiment with the success of the internship program. In addition, they can review the achievements of pre-service teachers in implementing apprenticeship programs based on each level of the Kirkpatrick model.

Abstract:
Internships have been shown to be impactful tools to connect students’ learning in academia with real-world industrial needs. To help the students to get more out of their internship experience, some universities provide a summer internship class in which students do class assignments based on their experiences during their internship. There have been numerous studies on the benefits of internships. However, the benefits of a potential internship class for students in construction management (CM) programs at universities have not yet been investigated. This paper demonstrates the structure of an interview-based internship class and investigates its effectiveness. We have focused on the CM program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) as a case study. We sent online questionnaires to the intern students who took the class, students’ mentors, and the professors who taught the class. The results indicate that despite some challenges to meet the requirements of the class, the students, their mentors, and the professor found the class beneficial. The results of this paper are expected to help CM programs with the establishment and improvement of internship classes in their curriculum.

Quality evaluation is an essential part of maintaining and sustaining the performance of each organization. In educational institutions, every student who takes a vocational education program is required to be able to carry out and complete internship activities. On the other hand, in implementing quality evaluation, something significant needs to be solved holistically. The problem is that no gradual and comprehensive measurement can provide information about the conditions of each scientific group. This study uses the SERVQUAL approach, which focuses on the performance that has been produced by combining the stages in the internship. Data was collected by distributing online questionnaires to 261 students who had internships in three scientific groups, namely 1) Management & Business Administration, 2) Health and 3) Media & Communication. The final results show that each scientific group has a different evaluation focus base that needs to be considered and optimized to maintain the quality of education.

Internships serve as pivotal experiences in shaping individuals’ professional trajectories, bridging academic knowledge with real-world application. Amidst growing emphasis on diversity and inclusion, understanding gender dynamics in internship programs becomes imperative. This study investigates gender-based quantitative disparities in intern performance evaluation, focusing on the summers of 2022 and 2023. Drawing on demographic data and performance ratings across personal attitudes, work-related skills, and human relations, a comprehensive analysis reveals nuanced gender differences. While males dominate program participation, females exhibit higher representation in top performance categories for personal attitudes and work-related skills. Conversely, males excel in human relations skills. Recommendations include enhancing gender inclusivity in recruitment and program design, tailoring support initiatives, and fostering gender-equitable environments. Findings offer insights for optimizing internship programs, promoting diversity, and advancing gender equality in professional spheres.

Professional internship is a compulsory course at universities, particularly for application-oriented training programs. Instead of relying on the evaluation results of lecturers and businesses, this study evaluates the effectiveness of professional internships from the perspective of students. The study has developed a scale including criteria of knowledge, skills, and attitudes, and conducted a survey of students who have completed 02 Professional Internship courses 1 & 2 in the field of Travel and Tourism Service Management, Da Nang University of Architecture. The results show that most of the criteria are met at a good level, however the most important goal of training students to master the processes and operations in the departments has the lowest evaluation score. Abstract:
The internship is one of the five-semester compulsory courses for D3 (Diploma 3) students of the Diponegoro University Vocational School, Semarang. Internships are held for a minimum of 3 months in the industry. Internships are applied at the diploma education level to allow the student to be well prepared before entering the world of work after graduating. This study aimed to evaluate the use of Japanese in online internships. The online internship has been applied since the pandemic of Covid-19. This research is expected to be a self-evaluation for curriculum adjustments to answer industry needs. Mainly because the Diponegoro University Vocational School no longer accepts D3 level students since 2019. In 2019, The D4 (Diploma 4) program replaced the closure of the D3 program. Of course, this makes curriculum adjustment a very urgent matter. Therefore, we need an evaluation of the curriculum implemented at the D3 level as a reference. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with a survey method. The data was collected through a survey distributed to 5 Japanese Vocational School (SV) D3 students who did online internships using Japanese. The survey contains several questions covering the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The survey was carried out online by providing three alternative answers to multiple-choice questions circulated via a google sheet. Based on the research results, it can be understood that students are pretty satisfied with the abilities obtained during lectures because they can be applied during online internships using Japanese. Students still experience dissatisfaction with one aspect of Japanese language learning, which is the Speaking aspect. As a result, it becomes an obstacle when doing online internships. However, this percentage of dissatisfaction is minor compared to other aspects of learning. It is an important point that can reference self-evaluation of study programs, both for curriculum preparation and classroom teaching.

Abstract:
INTRODUCTION: Strong performance in neurosurgical sub-internships requires familiarity with clinical and technical skills which may not otherwise be covered in standard medical school curricula. Thus, a need exists for immersive and comprehensive sub-internship preparation programs, which should be optimized based on student feedback. METHODS: Academy curriculum involved hands-on and discussion-based elements split into three stations: (1) suturing and general information, including a suturing and knot tying workshop and discussion of expectations of sub-interns; (2) introduction to the operating room and drilling, covering patient positioning, surgical technology, OR etiquette, and craniotomy basics; and (3) cases and clinical skills, reviewing clinical imaging, focused neurological exams, and medical note writing. An anonymous online post-survey was administered to collect data on participants’ perceptions of the utility of the academy. RESULTS: Twelve medical students participated in the inaugural neurosurgery sub-internship academy. Nine responded to a post-survey, which revealed following ratings: the overall program was rated as having maximal impact on sub-internship readiness and enthusiasm for neurosurgery by eight (88.9%) and seven (77.8%) respondents, respectively, and trends were comparable for individual curriculum components. A largely positive impact on mentorship access was also observed. CONCLUSIONS: Student perceptions of the relevance and utility of the sub-internship academy were positive, and the program fostered enthusiasm for neurosurgery and opportunities for mentorship. Evaluation of the program’s actual impact on preparedness and sub-internship performance as well as student retention in the field of neurosurgery will be performed in the future, in accordance with the Kirkpatrick model of training evaluation.

Abstract:
This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the independent internship program organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology within the Sociology Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, State University of Jakarta using the CIPP evaluation model. The CIPP evaluation model focuses on 4 aspects, namely Context, Input, Process, Product. The type of approach used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results of this study show that based on: (1) Context evaluation is still not optimal, because the involvement of Sociology students only ranges from 15% of batches 1-4 and in batch 4, especially the class of 2020, there are only 4 students who pass the Independent Internship program. Then the vision, mission, and objectives of the Sociology study program are considered to be in accordance with the objectives of the implementation of the Independent Internship program. (2) Input evaluation has been going well, due to the availability of human resources, facilities, and budget funds that are well met. Preparation for the implementation of the Independent Internship has also been well prepared by the Sociology study program and the company, and has had good quality human resources and are competent in their fields. (3) The evaluation process has run well, because it is supported by the study program and participants also have a high level of satisfaction with the Independent Internship program, both from experience, mentors, nor work. Then the effectiveness of excellent mentor assistance makes participants have no significant obstacles in the registration process until the internship program ends. (4) Product evaluation has also been carried out well, because this Independent Internship program can significantly improve the abilities and skills of participants. In addition, participants gain direct work experience and are actively involved in the company, so that participants get professional relationships and clear career paths.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the strategies and an effective model for creating and implementing a sustainability internship program at a university campus. Design/methodology/approach This study assessed Western Michigan University’s sustainability program’s interns’ gain of environmental knowledge on sustainability topics via pre- and post-test assessments. A sample of 50 interns between fall 2016 and spring 2019 comprising six cohorts participated in this study. Data were analyzed using statistical package for social sciences to calculate descriptive statistics and sign tests. Findings The sign tests of the accumulative internship pre- and post-test assessment scores significantly increased for all 14 sustainability knowledge dimensions. Research limitations/implications The pre- and post-test assessments of the internship program are unable to track and predict the long-term behavior changes of the interns after the completion of the program. Therefore, a future longitudinal study is needed. Practical implications This sustainability internship program’s content and experiential learning model has been proven to be effective in increasing interns’ knowledge of sustainability issues and creating sustainability stewards. Institutions and universities should consider creating their own sustainability internship program based on Western Michigan University's program using pre- and post-test assessments as a method of evaluation. Social implications The internship programs’ main strength is that it offers students from all academic backgrounds an opportunity to dig deep into sustainability issues, build new social networks, gain knowledge, develop leadership skills, become sustainability stewards and immediately apply what they have learned on campus and in their local community. On-campus internships are unique learning opportunities worthy of study and refinement. Originality/value This research paper is unique because it analyzes the combined pre- and post-test scores of six cohorts of interns’ across multiple knowledge dimensions of sustainability. This study empirically shows that the combined interns’ sustainability knowledge across all dimensions significantly increased from the pre- to post-test over the semester-long program.

Abstract:
This paper looked into the virtual internship of students at the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management at Far Eastern University during the second semester of the school year 2021-2022. Many aspects of student education have changed because of the pandemic, including the need for practical experiences, such as student internship programs. Participation and competence development are now needed for students to fulfill future employment expectations. Best practices that encourage lifelong learning may aid in the achievement of future goals. This research utilized a descriptive quantitative design. It involved one hundred respondents who had enrolled in a student internship program for the 2nd semester of the school year 2021-2022. All essential data, including demographics, attitudes, learning, experiences, evaluation, and assessment, were gathered through a survey questionnaire via Google Forms. The findings revealed that students currently have a heightened awareness of how government organizations sell and popularize local tourism destinations. Students' most valuable experience includes having the opportunity to discuss and network with other guests and professionals and to interact with actual industry leaders and learn from their expertise. Overall, most interns taking virtual internships claimed that they learned many skills, abilities, traits, and knowledge that are relevant and important to their studies. However, some interns had difficulties understanding the materials on their own and encountered internet interruptions and technical problems. Most students recommended a face-to-face type of modality in the internship program for future semesters. Abstract:
The effectiveness of implementing Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan, a new program of introduction to teaching internship, for PE students, is still questionable, starting from its impact on teaching skills, learning effectiveness, and students' teaching load. Meanwhile, this point is significant in Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). For this reason, this analytic study will criticize MBKM by providing evidence of the effectiveness of existing internships in the form of teaching skills, learning effectiveness, and students' teaching load. A total of 32 students were selected using consecutive sampling. Teaching skills were measured by observing 12 indicators and learning effectiveness was measured using Formative Class Evaluation (FCE) instrument. Anova Repeated Measure was used to analyse the data. The results show that the new program of introduction to teaching internship is not practical, proved by the progressive improvement of teaching skills followed by the ineffectiveness of the learning process. Students feel they have an overload teaching schedule, so that self-development activities are minimal, even though the tutor teachers have guided optimally. It can be concluded that the new program of introduction to teaching internship is less effective because of the overload teaching schedule in such limited time. It is then expected that the longer internship duration would enrich students' experiences under supervision and more comprehensive teaching load regulation.

Methods: In order to evaluate the comments of the students about the internship content, 1051 feedback forms filled out since 2008 were examined. There were 16 questions in the form, 15 of which were closed-ended and 1 open-ended.
Results: In the general evaluation of the internship program, 48.4% (n=509) of the students evaluated it as very productive and 46.1% (n=484) as productive. The percentage of respondents who said they were proficient in the "skill of vascular access," one of the abilities taught on models during clinical skills training and later used on patients, was 95.1% (n=999). 29.7% (n=312) of the students admitted that their "intubation practice" was inadequate.
Conclusion: It is crucial that the anaesthetic internship, which teaches one of the most fundamental medical skills—airway safety—be developed in accordance with the feedback received from the students. Standardised applied training programs increase the successful outcome of anaesthesia internship education.

Abstract:
This study extends three earlier investigations involving participants who completed their predoctoral clinical psychology internship at the William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute. Intern graduates ( N = 37) evaluated how effectively their internship training prepared them for seven aspects of their current work as practicing psychologists. Participants also rated the relevancy of 24 different internship training experiences to their current work and how much these experiences contributed to their development as clinical psychologists. The present study, in conjunction with the three previous studies, covers most of the 40-year period since the inception of the internship program. Analysis of the current data indicates the internship has improved over time and was deemed an exceptional training experience by its graduates. Findings may be of particular interest to internship directors and faculty interested in improving their training program and those who plan to conduct a self-study to maintain their accreditation for clinical psychology internship.

Abstract:
Internship credit has been offered for nearly 30 years. In more recent years, it has been formalized with specific guidelines developed in setting up an individual student program. Internship opportunities are facilitated through a career day, which has moved from fall to spring semester in which over 25 firms come on campus to present their opportunities. A detailed packet of information is distributed to the perspective intern and cooperator. A memorandum of agreement is developed with student, cooperator and internship coordinator which details credit, description of the program and hourly wage. Students are required to submit weekly reports and upon returning to campus must present an oral report to a student group and a written report to the internship coordinator. The cooperator does a summary evaluation, which is submitted to the coordinator. A final interview with each student is done with the internship coordinator and a S/F grade is assigned.
