To understand health, research needs to move outside of controlled research settings into the environments where health activities occur—homes, streets, and neighborhoods. I offer the docent method as a qualitative place-based approach for exploring health in a participant-driven, structured, and flexible way. The docent method is a participant-led, audiotaped, and photographed walking interview through broad “sites of interest” (SOIs). It is rooted in grounded theory and influenced by community-based participatory research and walking interviews. The three stages of the docent method involve:

This article describes an interview method for teaching adolescent psychology. Each student interviews an adolescent on the topic to be covered the following week and writes a report of that interview. The interviews are then used as the basis of classroom discussion. We investigate the hypothesis that individuals articulate what they know through grammatical patterns, referred to as under-representation, without direct awareness. Abstract:
This document provides information about the Knowledge Capture Interview, one of the methods used within the Bank's cycle to learn from experience. Specifically, it is a `learning after doing' technique that helps teams identify and share what worked and what hasn't worked, so that others within their family of projects (country, sector, or subsector portfolio) can take advantage of what has been learned.

Abstract:
High-resolution satellite imagery and machine learning techniques enable precise mapping of rural poverty, as demonstrated in this paper for the case of Ethiopia. Using household survey data with precise GPS coordinates, combined with multiple geospatial datasets, we develop a novel two-stage Random Forest model that first predicts roof materials from satellite imagery and then uses this prediction alongside other geospatial features to estimate household consumption levels. The model achieves high predictive accuracy across different spatial scales, with Spearman correlations between 0.81 and

This field report provides detailed information on the methodological approach as well as on the process of data collection and analysis in EIWO project III – “Mechanisms and Origins of Late Working Life Exclusion”. EIWO project III is part of the qualitative part of the EIWO programme and is – together with EIWO project VI, VII, and VIII from phase II – one of the four projects in which primary data is collected. EIWO uses a mixed-methods approach in its nine sub-projects, so that quantitative and qualitative methods are used in combination to investigate – from a life course perspective – th
