Abstract:
In order to compete in the ever growing competent market it is very important for a structural Engineer to save time as well as money, as a sequel to this is an attempt made to analyze and design a INTZE water tank by using IS method and software package of staad.pro. For analyzing a INTZE water tank one has to consider all the possible loadings and see that the structure is safe against all possible loading conditions. STAAD Pro V8i is a comprehensive and integrated finite element Analysis and design offering, including a state of the art user interface, visualization tools, and international design codes. There are several methods for analysis of different frames like finite element method. The present project deals with the design and analysis of a INTZE water tank with 12 lakh liters capacity for Jharkhand. The dead load, live loads and seismic load are applied and the design for different structural component, columns is done by using IS code method and STAAD.Pro with its new features surpassed its predecessors, and competitors with its data sharing capabilities with other major software like AutoCAD, and MS Excel. Intzetank is a type of elevated water tank supported on stagingThere are several methods for analysis of different frames like finite element method.Analysis of results of structural design and estimation of quantities of Intze tank for different wind speed and different bearing capacity of soil, For same bearing capacity of soil, if wind speed is increased the quantity of concrete and steel in Intze type elevated water tank are also increased. For same bearing capacity of soil, if wind speed is increased the quantity of concrete and steel in Intze type elevated water tank are also increased. Keeping the values of bearing capacity of soil constant, for every incremental increase of 10 m sec of wind speed, the quantites of concrete is increased. If the design of intze type elevated water tank is devided into two parts namely super structure above columns and super structure upto columns the analysis of results of this study reveals that with the change in the wind speed and or the bearing capacity of soil, there is an appreciable change is required quantities of concrete and steel for sub structure while these is almost no change in the required quantities of concrete and steel for super structure. Overhead tanks and storage tanks are used for storing water, liquid petroleum and similar liquids. Reservoir is a general term used for liquid storage structures and can be located below or above ground level. Cisterns below ground level are normally built to store large quantities of water. The overhead tanks are supported by the column that functions as a phase. This type of above ground water tanks is built for direct distribution of water by gravity flow and usually has a smaller capacity.

Abstract:
Pre-stressed (Random) vibration analysis due to wind and seismic load in different filling condition of an elevated intze water tank fluid system has been studied using finite element method. In present work the pre-stress effect of seismic load on the free vibration of intze water tank up to 10th mode shape is compared with the pre-stress effect of wind load on free vibration of intze water tank fluid system in different filling condition. It is seen in the present work that the difference in pre-stress effect on frequencies of free vibration in intze water tank is very low or it can be negligible for different loading condition. The static analysis of tank due to seismic load and wind load of an intze type water tank fluid system in different filling condition are also studied using finite analysis. Stresses and deflection in static analysis due to seismic load and wind load and also compare with each other. The maximum stresses and deflections in all cases in present study are calculated. The analysis has been done for different loading condition in different filling condition of tank. The analysis is performing using ANSYS -14.5 MECHANICAL APDL software, in which Solid 187 element is used for discretizing tank & Fluid 30 elements, is used for discretizing fluid system. To validate the present work frequencies of free vibration is calculated and compare with the previous study (transient and free vibration analysis of elevated intze water tank fluid soil system). The results obtained are same calculated previously by the other author. After validation the pre-stress (random) vibration analysis is done and results obtained from this research work are presented in table form as well as in figures form and comparison of results in graphical form also. Resonance condition for vibration analysis is also discussed.

Abstract:
Abstract Overhead water tank is a water storage facility supported by a tower and constructed at an elevation to provide useful storage and pressure for a water distribution system. Safety as well as working of such structures is considered as very crucial during earthquakes, since they put up for necessities like drinking water, firefighting during fire accidents, etc. Such structures should stay in operating condition even after several earthquakes. This RC overhead water tanks involves huge water mass supported on the top of tank supporting system known as staging. This investigation is basically to discover the seismic behavior of RC overhead water tanks. In this study, a FEM based model is used for finding out the nonlinear seismic performance of RC overhead water tanks with several staging variations. The staging that is different bracing patterns considered in this study in lateral and vertical direction, which relatively increases the strength and stiffness of tank in supporting system. Staad models are prepared and analyze for different seismic zones as well as for cyclonic regions and observed the parameters such as base shear, base moment and lateral displacement. The commercial software STAAD.Pro is used for structural analysis. Since the seismic response of water tank structure depends on its dynamic properties and frequency of ground motion. This seismic analysis of overhead water tank structure cannot be carried out on the basis of maximum value of ground acceleration because of nonavailability of ground acceleration data at every location. Hence for seismic analysis of overhead water tank, earthquake response spectrum analysis is widely used. While using this method, smooth design spectra is used to determine the value of displacement and forces in members at every mode of vibration. Octagonal, Radial, Cross, Alternate tie , Diagonal and X- type bracings are used to analyze the structure under all the seismic zones viz. II, III, IV & V. Also observed the behavior of tank for cyclonic region where wind load is increased by 30%. Analysed the overhead water tanks of same capacity for different bottom dome deviation angles and concluded.

Abstract:
Intensity of wind pressure along with elevation of the structure or with varying terrain category is the fundamental reason behind the wind caused catastrophe. Hence constructed structures must be prepared by the constructor keeping in mind the strength required in order to fight the impending disaster due to wind by thoroughly  understanding the performance of the structure under wind load. Elevated water tank of Intze type is a typical structure which requires an investigation to understand the behavior of this structure under the action of wind force. In this study a review of various literatures on calculative analysis of water tank was carried to understand the performance of elevated water tank under the action of various horizontal forces like wind load.

Abstract:
Most of the codal provisions used worldwide for the design of elevated water tanks incorporates the nonlinear response through reduction factor that considers overstrength, ductility and redundancy. The majority of these codes provide a value which incorporates the demand of their geological condition and construction industry. In Nepal, there is lack of own guidelines and codes for the seismic design of elevated water tanks. In the present work, seismic performance of elevated reinforced concrete (RC) Intze type water tank is evaluated and value of the response reduction factor (R) for the design of such tank is determined. In this research work 34 models of elevated reinforced water tank were analyzed using SAP 2000 to evaluate the seismic performance with varying tank filling condition and staging height for 450 cumec and 225 cumec capacity. Based on the results, it is concluded that single value of response reduction factor cannot be justified for all heights and capacity of elevated RC water tank. So, for economical design purpose, estimation of response reduction factor with exact analysis is preferred.

In present research we are analyse the RCC-beam using FEM software Ansys14.5 and comparing Without FRP Beam, CFRP, GFRP and KEVLAR laminates Reinforced Beams are made strong in flexure through the utilization of Fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composites which are attached in their tension zones. In this study finite element method is used to study the deflection of rectangular Beam reinforced by FRP laminate composites at the top surface of the beam. In this study the FRP is CFRP, GFRP and KEVLAR. Ansys software is used for finite element modelling. In this study Without FRP beam and beam laminated with CFRP, GFRP and KEVLAR are compared on the basis of deformation and stresses. The variables in the finite element modelling are type of FRP and different length of FRP laminates. In this study it is observed that KEVLAR is provided more strength to the structure as compare to the Without FRP material, CFRP and GFRP laminated beam. The analytical concrete Beam model was generated using a FEM software program Ansys14.5. In Ansys14.5 software concrete Beam this is subjected to loading through vertical loading which are 953KN. Simulation results shows that There is 42.67% reduction in deformation for length of 13000mm KEVLAR laminate as compare to Without FRP concrete as compare to Without FRP Beam and There is 41% reduction in stresses for length of 13000mm KEVLAR laminate as compare to Without FRP concrete. KEVLAR provided more strength to the structure (Beam) and effective than Without FRP Beam, GFRP and CFRP reinforced material in reduction of deformation and stresses.

Abstract:
In the past, various methods and technological systems were used to supply water on industrial and other sites. In the early 19th century, Professor Otto Intze invented a new form of water reservoir that could be installed in a tower tank or even on the body of a chimney. This gave rise to a structure that had never been seen before – a chimney reservoir. The advantages of this structure resulted in it quickly becoming very popular, especially in the country in which it originated, Germany. The structure spread from the German Empire into other countries, including Austria-Hungary. The first chimney reservoir on the Czech territory originated in the late 19th century, the last structure of this type was built in 1962. Although their history was short, more than sixty distinctive structures of this kind were built in the Czech lands, the twenty-one of which that have survived to the present day can be described as a unique industrial heritage. This article outlines the origin and evolution of different types of chimney reservoirs and describes the structural and technological designs used for such structures on the territory of what is now known as the Czech Republic.

A 10 lac liters of Intz type water tank is considered for this thesis work. The structural size was decided on the basis of the various literates studied and considering practical site considerations. For this purpose, types of loads and their intensities were considered as per the particular Indian code such as IS 875 part-01 and 02 for dead load and live load and IS 1893 part 01 for seismic loading on water tank. As these loading and loading combinations undergoes a tedious manual calculations structural design software Staad Pro. will be used for analysis and design. After detailed analysis it is found that Change in seismic severity has significant effect on the beam reaction in horizontal X direction with no change in horizontal Z-direction. Changes in seismic severity does not affect the moment values of structure from zone II to Zone III but a slight change was observed between the values of Zone III and Zone IV in Horizontal X and Z direction. An Increase of 261.53 % in the intensity of absolute pressure was observed as the severity changes from low to high, thus reflecting the significance of seismic severity.

Abstract:
This article is devoted to discussing a new EU law institution which is about theindividual assessment of the specific needs of victims within the framework ofprotection. The issue is important since the institution for individual assessmentshould be implemented in the Polish system of law, but it also happens to invokemany controversies and misunderstandings. Most accurately it became accepted inthe Directive of the European Parliament and Council 2012/29/EU on 25 October2012, establishing minimum standards for the rights, support and protection ofvictims of crimes, thus replacing Council Framework Decision 2001/220/JHA. Therehad previously been talk about it in two other directives, namely Directive of theEuropean Parliament and Council 2011/36/EU from 5 April 2011 which was aboutpreventing human trafficking and combating it as well as protecting victims, whichreplaced Council Framework Decision 2002/629/JHA, and Directive of the EuropeanParliament and Council 2011/93/EU from 13 December 2011 on combating sexualabuse, the sexual exploitation of children and child pornography, which replacedCouncil Framework Decision 2004/68/JHA. An instrument closer to individualevaluation was also introduced by the European Council Convention for preventingand combating violence against women and domestic violence on 11 May 2011. Analysis of the regulations contained in these documents proved that victims ofcrimes have to be subjected to individual assessment every single time, the basis ofwhich are their personal qualities, type and character of the crime, as well as theirlocation. A particular weight is attached to ensuring the protection of the personalqualities of the victim. Individual assessment, on the one hand, should get confirmationif the given victim has specific needs, and if so, what kind of protection in criminalproceedings and support they need. On the other hand, it describes concrete means ofprotection and support as foreseen in the articles of the above-mentioned documents. So it is therefore best to adapt these means to specific needs. The discussed international documents prescribe always recognising a child asa person of specific needs, defining them as any person under 18 years of age. It alsoindicates that a person whose age cannot be confirmed, but for whom there are reasonsto believe they are a child, should be considered a child. For children that are victims ofcrimes, they also anticipate a wider catalogue of measures than for adult victims withspecific needs. An analysis of Polish law regulations has been made against a background ofsolutions accepted in international law acts. The analysis included in its particularscovers issues such as the problem of informing the victim about their entitlement torights, professional preparation of people who have contact with them on a professionalbasis, confirmation of special protection measures for the victims in criminal proceedings, appointment of procedural curators for harmed minors to preventconflicts of their interests with those of people who have parental custody or care overthem. Also referenced were solutions introduced by the act from 28 November 2014 about protection and aid for victims and witnesses, as well as the “Blue Card” procedurecarried out during interventions in situ undertaken in relation to family violence. Also discussed were the questionnaires prepared by the Ministry of Justice tocarry out the evaluations of specific needs of victims – this is part of the scope of thespecialist help they are meant to provide non-governmental organisations supportingvictims as well as within the scope of sharing special means for protection during criminal proceedings. It turned out that a significant majority of Polish legal normsand practices do not conform to international standards in the discussed field. With fullcertainty, institutions of individual assessment have not yet been implemented in Polish legislation, while the achieved undertakings appear insufficient. One can even say thatthey have only been pretending to aim to implement them. A specific objection is thefailure to achieve any activities aimed at ensuring a uniform standard of protectionfor all children. So children are held using current regulations under which the levelof their protection is dependent on their age and the type of criminal victimisationexperienced. Nor was there a separate category of victim with special needs in terms of protection. So special protection methods are still only given to victims of crimesof a sexual nature, as classified in articles 197 to 199 of the Criminal Code. In place ofthis, regulations ought to be introduced enabling specific methods of interrogating allvictims with special protection needs. Nor does it take into account the will of victimsabout the use of certain measures that they agree with subjectively
