Abstract:
Competition in the business world makes each company increasingly able to improve its performance in order to achieve the company's goals to get the maximum profit so that the company is able to develop and compete with other companies. In this era of globalization, the emergence of new competitors in various industrial sectors of the company can make competition in business from the last few years very tight. So that requires each company to implement a management system in accordance with procedures in order to develop and run their businesses effectively. Theories that will be explained in this research are about Return on assets and Return On equity, and Net profit margin and also Company Value. This study used a non-experimental research type. Non-experimental research is a part of research in which observations can be carried out on a number of variables contained in the research subject reviewed according to the actual conditions without manipulation of data processed by the researcher. Because in this study the actual data used from the financial statements of pharmaceutical companies contained on the Stock Exchange regarding receivables turnover, as well as cash turnover as well as inventory turnover on profitability (Y). Receivables turnover, cash turnover and inventory turnover on a continuous and positive and significant effect on the profitability of pharmaceutical companies, especially those on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014-2017. The results obtained after testing the hypothesis using the F-test and obtained a significant value <0.05. Where these results indicate there is a significant influence, so the hypothesis is very acceptable and proven true.

Abstract:
The countercyclical pattern of inventory-sales ratios is a striking feature of inventory behavior. In a model where inventories are productive for sales, both the markup of price over marginal cost and expected changes in marginal cost are key determinants of that ratio. This paper argues that costly variation in factor utilization gives rise to countercyclical markups in production-to-stock manufacturing industries. The markup turns out to be more important than intertemporal substitution in explaining the behavior of inventory-sales ratios. (JEL E22, E32)

Abstract:
Inventory theory and supply chain management have become important to small businesses in order to improve an organization’s competitive strength and survival. The rapid growth of small businesses of late has seen them to face a challenge in managing their inventory effectively and efficiently. A study was carried out in F.E. (Private) limited a pioneer in distribution of electrical equipments based in Chennai, whose two major challenges were, stock-out and excess stock due to uncertainty in demand. The organization wanted to develop its performance and overall efficiency by considering a change in the inventory policy. The main aim of this research is to attain operational excellence through inventory management and measure its effectiveness using critical key performance indicators. A new inventory policy was developed to improve the inventory turns and measure its performance after implementing the new inventory policy. The results revealed that the implementation of new inventory policy helped to save over Rs. 2.25 lakhs per month in terms of total inventory carrying cost to the selected organization.

Abstract:
Research regarding the relationship between inventory management and financial performanceis so far inconclusive: some found it to be positive, others found it to be negative. One ofthe many factors that influence the variance, the organizational life cycle, will be exploredin this research. Organizational life cycle might influence the relationship between inventorymanagement and financial perfomance due to the different strategies and designs pursuedby the organizations along each of their life cycle stages. This study use a sample set of 33manufacturing companies listed in BEI, with 7 years observation period. A regression analysisis performed with dummy variables of organizational life cycle, resulting from a cluster analysiswith k-mean method. Regression analysis and cluster analysis are all done with Stata. Theresult shows that the relationship between inventory and financial performance is positive inthe early growth stage of organization life cycle and turns to negative at late growth stage. Therelationship is inconclusive at the conception and stability stage of organizational life cycle. Therefore, we can conclude that in making decisions about inventory, firms should considerwhat stage of organizational life cycle they are currently in so that the decisions made canimpact the financial performance positively. Keywords: Organizational Life Cycle, Financial Performance, Inventory Management

Abstract:
Demand forecasting is the basis of the inventory management. Aiming at the problem of subjective forecasting method, we use quadratic exponential smoothing method to establish the mathematical model, to forecast sales volume of product A in every month in 2013. And based on demand forecasting, we put forward ABC classification management method to solve the inventory management issues. The research result of this paper has important implications in improving the inventory management level for many enterprises.Demand Forecasting and Inventory ManagementInventory management is an important part of enterprise management, and it directly affects the business situation of enterprises. A reasonable inventory can significantly enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of enterprises; too much or too little inventory settings would have a bad impact on the business, and some company even bog down because of inventory problems companies bogged down because of inventory problems [1-2]. To do inventory management, what should we do in the first step. The answer is demand forecast. When business scale reaches a certain level, it would need strict, systematic demand forecasting. The more accurate the demand forecasting is, the more accurate inventory planning would be, and more favorable for business enterprises.Few companies are able to be completely in accordance with the order production, and the vast majority of businesses are not waiting for orders after arrival, then determine how much raw material and manpower needed, and how to arrange production. Because it often takes a long production cycle, and no one is willing to wait a month to buy a bag of washing powder. Successful companies always make accurate predictions for product demand, and then put into production according to forecasting [3]. Due to their more accurate predictions, they can often carry out a reasonable plan and inventory management. Inventory forecasting, its essence is demand forecasting [4]. Demand forecasting provides important information for inventory management such as inventory amount, lead time, inventory turns. Demand forecasting is based on research and statistics, to make a scientific and reasonable inference for product demand. Product demand generally is within a certain period, certain market range, the number of consumers’ demand for a product. Demand forecasting results can help companies determine the amount of raw material inventory and products, and provide enterprise continuous production of raw materials needed, save liquidity and reduce inventory costs, improving the comprehensive competitiveness of enterprises.Product Demand Forecasting Model

Abstract:
International trade imbalances make the management of empty containers within shipping networks an important economic and ecological problem. While import-dominated ports accumulate large amounts of empty containers, export-dominated ports need them as transport resources, requiring a repositioning transportation of empty containers on the sea and land side. Acknowledging the importance of the problem, plenty of respective literature has appeared. Since periodic review inventory management systems allow to model the inherent stochasticity of empty container transportation, they have emerged as a major solution approach in the domain. Nevertheless, existing approaches often omit crucial economic and ecological real world conditions determining the success of empty container management. Pollution, repair options, and street-turns are important aspects in this context. In this work, we present new stochastic review policies incorporating a realistic allocation scheme for empty container emissions, realistic maintenance, and repair options as well as street-turns. We analyze the optimality of the proposed polices and evaluate them in a simulation model with metaheuristic parameter search based on extensive real-world data from a major global shipping company operating in Latin America. Results provide insights for academics and practitioners about the economic and ecological impact of the distinct empty container management polices within a shipping network.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to compare various inventory policies and their effect on various performance metrics at different levels of a multi stage supply chain. Later the model is integrated to include optimization of entire supply chain through implementation of collaborative supply chain model. Design/methodology/approach – Alternative inventory policies have been developed at different echelons and a comparison reflecting the usability on various factors such as inventory level, inventory cost and service level is presented so as to support the decision-making process. Various inventory policies such as economic order quantity, periodic ordering (T, M) and stock to demand have been considered. Along with the basic assumptions; lead time, demand variability, variability in demand during lead time, stock out costs have also been included to make the model more applicable to practical situations. Findings – After the selection of most appropriate inventory policy at each level through a decision matrix, the total cost of operating such a supply chain is calculated along with other parameters such as service level and inventory turns. The approach is of aggregating the optimized value at each echelon referred to as aggregated supply chain in the paper. Then the concept of integrated supply chain is introduced which optimizes the supply chain as a whole, rather than aggregating local optima. The comparison is made between the two approaches that prove the integrated supply chain's superiority. Furthermore, dependent optimization is run as it is not practically possible for each echelon to optimize at the same time. Originality/value – Each echelon is allowed to optimize at a time and other echelons assume corresponding values. This final comparative multi criterion analysis is based on the three factors, i.e. inventory cost, customer service level and inventory turnover with different weights assigned to each factor at different levels of a supply chain. Finally a consolidation of results is made to reflect the overall preference which proves that an integrated supply chain best serves all the parameters combined together.

Abstract:
The widely accepted link–node centerline network model inhibits lane-based traffic analysis and inventory management, specifically the ability to represent the availability of lanes, individual lane properties, connectivity among parallel lanes and at turns, and lane movement restrictions. A lane-based network overcomes the limitations by maintaining lanes as independent topological objects and thus supports data management, decision making, and network analysis at the lane level. The data model for a lane-based network uses a directed graph approach in which a set of unidirectional lanes and nodes is used to model traffic flow connectivity. The model manages the continuous lateral connectivity between parallel lanes by specifying the relative lateral position of the lanes on their parent roadways. This approach provides an efficient way to maintain lane topology and eliminates the requirement of turntables. This paper presents the model along with guidelines for lane-based inventory management and strategies for discretizing continuous lateral connectivity between parallel lanes to enable the use of existing routing algorithms (e.g., Dijkstra's). Finally, the paper presents a practical implementation built on the linear location referencing system of a state department of transportation.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT: This study empirically investigates the incentive-action-performance chain on cross-sectional plant data in the context of a just-in-time (JIT- plant manufacturing environment. Incentives in this study are of the “soft” goal-oriented variety rather than direct compensation. The empirical analysis is implemented using ordinary least squares and Heckman two-stage regressions to account for the potential endogeneity of the JIT adoption decision. We find that plant performance outcomes are associated with actions, namely, the breadth and intensities of plant JIT practices adopted by plant management, but are not associated with performance incentives. However, we find that the JIT adoption decision is associated with incentives. We further find that it is the essential inventory incentive aspects of JIT, such as increasing inventory turns and reducing scrap/waste, that motivate JIT adoption rather than other, arguably less central incentive aspects of JIT, such as product quality. Overall, our results are consistent with the predictions of the implicit “career” incentives Principal-Agent model but not with predictions of the standard explicit incentives Principal-Agent model.

Abstract:
Abstract Social mobility in nineteenth-century Paramaribo: the extraordinary library of Johanna Christina Jonas (1799-1849)The free black teacher, librarian, and shopkeeper Johanna Christina Jonas lived in the slave society of Paramaribo, the capital city of Suriname, in the nineteenth century. Born into slavery, she was granted her freedom by her master. After her death an estate inventory was made which included a record of the library collection and the administration of debtors of the school, library, and bookstore. This article explores Johanna’s position and the role she and her school, library, and bookstore played in encouraging the social mobility of free people of colour in Paramaribo. The inventory gives us a nice glimpse of the reading behaviour of the citizens of Paramaribo in the nineteenth century. It turns out that Johanna was able to create more favourable conditions for free people of colour to improve their social position. With her school and library she allowed them to access a range of educational opportunities and a supply of books.

This study examined the effect of cost, productivity of assets and capital structure of an automotive company's profitability. This study focuses on the productivity of assets which include factors such as operating leverage, sales, inventory turnover, net working capital, liquidity, receivable collection, fixed asset ratio, and total asset turnover. Capital Structure includes the degree of financial leverage. Profitability factor in this study includes operating margin, return on assets and return on equity. Sample used are 45 automotive industry companies who have registered and still active until December 31, 2009. The statistical methods used in this research are classical assumption test, f test and t test. This study indicates that inventory turns, liquidity, receivable collections and, the ratio of fixed assets have a negative outcome to the total asset turnover, while net working capital has a positive outcome. Operating margin and total asset turnover both have positive values that have an impact on return on assets. Capital structure and degree of operating leverage both have negative results on the turnover of capital, while return on assets have positive results.

Abstract:
The city management is increasingly supported by information technologies, leading to paradigms such as smart cities, where decision-makers, companies and citizens are continuously interconnected. 3D modelling turns of great relevance when the city has to be managed making use of geospatial databases or Geographic Information Systems. On the other hand, laser scanning technology has experienced a significant growth in the last years, and particularly, terrestrial mobile laser scanning platforms are being more and more used with inventory purposes in both cities and road environments. Consequently, large datasets are available to produce the geometric basis for the city model; however, this data is not directly exploitable by management systems constraining the implementation of the technology for such applications. <br><br> This paper presents a new algorithm for the automatic detection of zebra crossing. The algorithm is divided in three main steps: road segmentation (based on a PCA analysis of the points contained in each cycle of collected by a mobile laser system), rasterization (conversion of the point cloud to a raster image coloured as a function of intensity data), and zebra crossing detection (using the Hough Transform and logical constrains for line classification). After evaluating different datasets collected in three cities located in Northwest Spain (comprising 25 strips with 30 visible zebra crossings) a completeness of 83% was achieved.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTJust as turn-taking has been found to be both context-free and context-sensitive (Sacks, Schegloff & Jefferson 1974), the organization of repair is also shown here to be both context-free and context-sensitive. In a comparison of American and German conversation, repair can be shown to be context-free in that, basically, the same mechanism can be found across these two languages. However, repair is also sensitive to the linguistic inventory of a given language; in German, morphological marking, syntactic constraints, and grammatical congruity across turns are used as interactional resources. In addition, repair is sensitive to certain characteristics of social situations. The selection of a particular repair initiator, Germanbitte?‘pardon?’, indexes that there is no mutual gaze between interlocutors; i.e., there is no common course of action. The selection ofbitte?not only initiates repair; it also spurs establishment of mutual gaze, and thus displays that there is attention to a common focus. Abstract:
PurposeDrug warehouses (DWs) play a crucial role in drug distribution of government-supported healthcare supply chain as it controls both the cost and responsiveness of the logistics activities. The current study proposes a methodology using data envelopment analysis (DEA) to estimate the performance along different dimensions and was applied to 30 government-supported DWs.Design/methodology/approachThis study employs DEA to evaluate the performance and relative technical efficiency of DWs. In this research, four inputs and six outputs are identified based on intensive literature review and discussion with all stakeholders of DWs. The inputs are warehouse storage capacity, temperature-controlled storage capacity, number of skilled employees and operational cost, while the outputs are fill rate, number of generic drugs, volume of drugs, consumption points, inventory turns ratio and time efficiency.FindingsResults show that 30% DWs operate at the most productive scale size with 100% efficiency level while 47% DWs have a significant possibility for further enhancement in productive efficiency and 23% DWs should diminish their operational size to increase their productivity level. It was also found that achieving 100% operational productivity along warehouse space capacity needs significant effort, whereas other three inputs, namely temperature-controlled capacity, number of skilled employees and operational cost, require comparatively less effort. Similarly, it was observed that the performance along the fill rate and time efficiency is satisfactory, whereas the performance along other fours output variables (i.e. number of generic drugs, volume of drugs, consumption points and inventory turns ratio) needs to be improved.Practical implicationsThe findings offer insights on the inputs and outputs that significantly contribute to efficiencies so that inefficient DWs can focus on these factors.Originality/valueAlthough many issues related to DEA have been widely researched and reported, but no literature has been found for analysis of DWs in general and government-supported DWs specifically to find out efficiencies for supply chain performance improvement.

Abstract:
Introduction Opportunities have been identified regarding timely delivery of medications due to lack of ADC inventory related to stock outs or other variances in pharmacy workflow (i.e. compounding and distribution times). These opportunities for improvement impact patient care and result in both nursing and pharmacy staff frustration. Additionally, there are significant costs associated with unused medications stored in ADCs, taking up valuable real estate that would otherwise house more opportune inventory. This situation has created a need for more efficient management of the ADC inventory. Currently, research in the topic area is sparse. We hypothesize that the systematic management and oversight of ADC inventory will demonstrate a significant improvement in key performance indicators and provide insight to the current gaps in knowledge. Methods This study will be a continuous quality improvement project with a combination of retrospective data review and prospective optimization interventions of automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis®). Interventions include review and adjustment of ADC par levels, removal of unused/stagnate medications, standardization of stock, and continual review of ADC inventory turns and associated optimization opportunities. The primary outcomes are the change in vend/fill ratio from baseline, change in medication stockout percentage from baseline. Results There was no significant difference in vend/fill ratio after the optimization phase compared with baseline [Difference 0.13 (11.56 ± 6.1 vs. 11.43 ± 5.41) respectively, (p=0.84)]. Medication stockout percentage was also found to be similar with baseline [Difference -0.05 (0.71% ± 0.12 vs. 0.76% ± 0.08) respectively, (p=0.37)]. For secondary outcomes, the change in blind stockout percentage from baseline was -0.04 [0.13 ± 0.02 vs. 0.17 ± 0.02, (p=0.004)] and the change in medications dispensed per day from baseline was 317 [2656 ± 143 vs. 2339 ± 200, (p=0.0002)]. Conclusion Optimization of automated dispensing cabinets yielded marginal improvements in vend/fill ratio and stockout percentage and significantly improved overall efficiency through an increase in the number of medications stocked in ADCs and number of medications dispensed per day from ADCs. Evaluation of more clinically significant performance indicators may better characterize the benefits from the optimization process.

Abstract:
The article examines whether an 18th century man of letters in Tallinn might use (exotic plants) to design his living environment and spend his free time growing them and how he would do this. It is only possible to speculate about the answers. The inventory compiled in 1766 for the assets of Heinrich Benjamin Hessler, rector and technology professor at Tallinn Secondary School, includes many entries related to gardening, which may allude to his interest in gardening. Therefore, he has been chosen as the main character for this article. It turns out that gardening could be the part of the life of an 18th century man of letters with a focus on both the beauty and practical aspects. Considering the fact that travelling and visiting exotic places was not an everyday occurrence, growing exotic plants helped to make one’s living environment more interesting, diverse and also fulfilled educational goals. Based on the inventory, it seems that Professor Hessler was sufficiently wealthy to spend his resources on such a luxury. In addition, gardening was a way of relaxing and provided a respite from intensive intellectual work.

Abstract:
One of the most important issues indicating the quality and quantity of forest ecosystems is the distribution of natural disturbances resulting in canopy gaps (CGs). The present study was conducted in one of the Hyrcanian beech forests in northern Iran in summer 2018. The gap areas were classified into small (&lt; 200 m2), medium (200‒500 m2) and large gaps (500–1 000 m2) on the basis of full inventory. The univariate Ripley’s L-function was used for introducing the CG spatial pattern. Furthermore, mark correlation function (MCF) and density function (DC) in turns were used for verifying the correlation and frequency of CG size classes in each pattern. The results showed patterns of the gaps in each size class and integrated by the three size classes, they were random and cluster, respectively. Furthermore, the MCF revealed that the gap size classes were independently located in the clusters. The total frequency of the small, medium and large gaps in turns was 32, 49 and 19%, respectively. Although the density share of medium and small gaps in turns was more frequent than the large gap density in the study forest, the results of DC indicated that the frequency of each gap size class was random within each cluster, regardless of their density share. Based on the natural gap aggregations, the base circular mosaic with an area of 5 000 m2 can be introduced for monitoring and specifying the forest stand dynamics.

Abstract:
Objective: The objective of the present study is to test the validity of the integrated cognitive model (ICM) of depression proposed by Kwon and Oei with a Latin-American sample. The ICM of depression postulates that the interaction between negative life events with dysfunctional attitudes increases the frequency of negative automatic thoughts, which in turns affects the depressive symptomatology of a person. This model was developed for Western Europeans such as Americans and Australians and the validity of this model has not been tested on Latin-Americans. Method: Participants were 101 Latin-American migrants living permanently in Brisbane, including people from Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Argentina and Guatemala. Participants completed the Beck Depression Inventory, the Dysfunctional Attitudes Scale, the Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire and the Life Events Inventory. Alternative or competing models of depression were examined, including the alternative aetiologies model, the linear mediational model and the symptom model. Results: Six models were tested and the results of the structural equation modelling analysis indicated that the symptom model only fits the Latin-American data. Conclusions: Results show that in the Latin-American sample depression symptoms can have an impact on negative cognitions. This finding adds to growing evidence in the literature that the relationship between cognitions and depression is bidirectional, rather than unidirectional from cognitions to symptoms.

Ekerman became the mistress of Prince Charles, brother of Gustav III. The prince dismissed her for another woman and she was suspected of infanticide and slander against the king. The governor of Stockholm, Carl Sparre, helped her to avoid the Spinning House, but she was exiled and lived in Paris between 1782 and 1786. In 1784 she travelled to Italy, where she had been invited by a Neapolitan duke. Thanks to Ekerman's letters to Sparre it is possible to follow her journey from the papal court in Rome to the royal court at Naples. She spent her last years in Stockholm, now mistress of the Dutch ambassador and accused of espionage. The aim of this article is to study the interrelation between the owner and her books, on the basis of a list of Ekerman's books included in the estate inventory drawn up after her death. A selection of these books is discussed with particular regard to language and genre. The collection, described in the inventory as consisting mainly of theatrical pieces and French novels, turns out to have had a wider range, thus revealing its owner's ambition to transgress the stereotypical image of the eighteenth-century woman.

Abstract:
This study compares the hedging effectiveness of domestic won/dollar futures and foreign non-deferable forward (NDF) contracts. We use an ex ante analysis based on out-of-sample data. In addition, the analysis is based on the inventory hedging scenario, adopted in most of previous studies. We estimated hedge ratios by using the various method of 1 : 1 hedging, ordinary least squares (OLS), and error correction model (ECM). The hedging period is expanded to include one to twelve months‘ In every aspect, the hedging effectiveness of won/dollar futures contract turns out to be better than that of NDF contract. However, the differences are not statistically significant at 10% level. This res비t stems from the fact that there exists a high correlation between spot exchange rate and futures or forward exchange rates, implying an evidence of co-movement between them.

The functions and roles of such patents are important in supporting technological development in supporting the success in the field of technology. It is necessary to have a legal field that regulates legal protection if an invention in the field of technology is misused by another person who is not entitled to use it. The legal instruments are in the form of a patent law contained in Law Number 6 Year 1998 as amended and refined by Law Number 13 of 1997. The number of patent applications originating from within the country is 229 pieces or 1.82 percent of all patent applications. While the number of simple patent requests originating from within the country is 153 pieces or 41.02 percent of all simple patent requests. Looking at the numbers above, in the period of approximately five years since the entry into force of the UUP, it turns out that this patent registration request is still widely used by technology inventors (inventory originating from abroad (WNA), while those from within the country (Indonesian citizens) ) fewer numbers both in the field of patents and simple patents.</em></p><p><em> </em><em></em></p>

Abstract:
A widely-accepted measure of supply chain excellence is the Supply Chain Top 25 List published annually by Gartner Research. It evaluates firms from five quality dimensions: return on assets, inventory turns, revenue growth, peer evaluation, and Gartner opinion. However, subjective voting by industrial experts and Gartner consultants are likely to be influenced by financial market variables, such as a firm's market value, alpha, beta, and market return. This article investigates whether the Gartner list is a true reflection of a firm's SCM excellence and how market variables affect the Gartner list, especially its subjective quality dimensions. Correlation and regression analysis show that the Gartner list is largely affected by a firm's market value and alpha, but is not associated with the firm's beta and market return. Moreover, the Gartner list is influenced by a firm's prior market information, but is not capable to predict its future performance.

Abstract:
Stuttering, as a communication disorder, is a field of great interest, with many hypothesis regarding its nature and appropriate treatment. Many studies tried to emphasize the bond between stuttering and anxiety. Frequently, stuttering is associated with strong emotional reaction, as anxiety, emphasized by negative consequences of “not being able to talk accurately”. This turns in avoidance of speak and social problems as school difficulties. The aim of this study is anxiety evaluation in children with stuttering through specialized psychological intervention. We applied MASC (Multidimensional Anxiety Scale for Children) and CDI (Child Depression Inventory) to 20 children diagnosed with stuttering, aged 6–16, from Cluj -Napoca, both at the beginning and at the end of the study. Psychological intervention consisted of two evaluation sessions (one with the parent and one with the child) and ten group sessions (psychodrama and cognitive-behavioral techniques). The results showed a significant decrease of anxiety (p < 0.05), and no difference in depression symptoms (for statistical data we used SPSS 16.0 Program).

Abstract:
In the context of Poisson sampling, numerous adjustments to classical estimators have been proposed that are intended to compensate for inflated variance due to random sample size. However, such adjustments have never been applied to extensive forest inventories. This work investigates the performances of four estimators for the timber volume in one-phase two-stage forest inventories, where trees in the first stage are selected, at the plot level, by concentric circles or angle-count methods and a subset thereof are selected by Poisson sampling for further measurements to get a better estimation. The original two-stage estimator is the sum of two components: the first is the mean of Horwitz–Thompson estimators using simple volume approximations, based on diameter and species alone, of all first-stage trees in each inventory plot, and the second is the mean of Horwitz–Thompson estimators based on the differences between the simple volume approximations and refined volume determinations based on further diameter and height measurements on the second-stage trees within each inventory plot. This two-stage estimator is particularly useful because it provides unbiased estimates even if the simple prediction model is not correct, which is particularly important for small area estimation. The other three estimators rely on adjustments of the second component of the original estimator that are adapted from estimators proposed in the literature by L.R. Grosenbaugh and C.-E. Särndal. It turns out that these adjustments introduce a negligible bias and that the original simple estimator performs just as well or even better than the new estimators with respect to the variance.

Abstract:
The paper considers a historical aspect of zoonymic studies which has not been sufficiently developed. The history of Russian horse names (hipponyms) is explored using zoonymic data from the inventories of the Vologda monasteries in the 16th — early 18th centuries, the materials from Listings of horses (Moscow, 1665), and archival documents of the Soviet farms of Sevmaslotrest from 1930s. The author identifies the lexical structure of Early Modern Russian hipponymy, delves into the meaning of names and appellatives they derive from, analyses the structure of horses’ names, and describes the name formation techniques. The studied sources bring the picture of the general development of lexical patterns in the Russian hipponymy. As it turns out, the vocabulary of Early Modern Russian hyponymy is almost identical with the Old Russian anthroponomy, which attests to their genetic unity. At the same time, the use of Christian names is noted, with these becoming more popular in the given period. The article also deals with structural types of Early Modern Russian hipponyms: zoonyms having a substantive form (nicknames formed from onomastic, agential, zoological, and object nouns; zoonymic compounds; suffixal compounds); adjective-based zoonyms; mixed names. In monastic scripts of the 16th — early 18th centuries, the vast majority of units used as hipponyms are “prefabricated” traditional names, the cases of creating original animal names are rare. In the latter case, zoonyms are usually formed using suffixal patterns peculiar for agentive and anthroponomic vocabulary. The word-building patterns include the onymisation of appellatives (sometimes by metaphoric transfer), substantivisation (nominalization) of adjectives, transonymisation of personal and place names. Due to the semantic, structural, and word-formation proximities between Early Modern Russian zoonymy and Old Russian anthroponomy, zoonymic vocabulary of the 16th–18th centuries provides a reliable source on Old Russian onomasticon, as well as explains the “anthroponymic” nature of modern Russian zoonymy and the active use of personal names for animals at present. This practice turns out to have deep historical roots.

Abstract:
Three studies examined the relationship between several measures of creativity and aesthetic preference and several established personality scales. Study 1 derived indices of Fluency, Originality, and Preference for Complexity and Meaningfulness using random polygons varying in complexity (turns); the scales of the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (Revised) (EPQ-R), the Schizotypal Personality Scale (STA), and the Sensation Seeking Scale, Form V (SSS-V) were the personality measures. Study 2 added Openness to Experience from the NEO Personality Inventory (Revised) to the personality measures; factors derived from the Litle and Zuckerman Music Preference Scale were added to the creativity/preference set. Study 3 replaced the polygons used in Study 2 with two Kogan-Wallach creativity tests, and added a word association task. Canonical correlations suggested a substantial relationship between SSS-V, Openness, and EPQ-R Psychoticism, and a creativity/preference set particularly represented by Preference for Complexity, dislike of “soft popular” music, and originality or number of divergent thinking responses. Subscale analyses implicated willingness to question conventional values as a major component of the “creative personality.”

Abstract:
Background. Educational games are widely used in business classes in general, and supply chain management (SCM) classes in particular. These games are designed to familiarize students with the real business world. Most SCM games are ready-made, with pre-set learning objectives focusing on a certain module in a supply chain. Intervention. This article presents the new spreadsheet-based Flexible Supply Chain Management Game (FSCMG) and the findings of its pilot study. FSCMG’s features are transparent to instructors and students alike. It is easily modifiable to suit an instructor’s learning objectives. Method. Six groups of undergraduate students took turns playing three modules, namely a wholesaler, manufacturer, and supplier. There were two groups per module to represent two supply chains. The students’ spreadsheets are analyzed and presented. Results. Students’ spreadsheets revealed that they were able to employ SCM conceptual understanding in FSCMG, particularly pricing strategy, inventory management, forecasting, and the relationships within a supply chain. Conclusion. FSCGM helped the students apply their in-class knowledge in a real-world situation and be well prepared for their future careers where an extensive understanding is required.

The state’s development, twists and turns of culture and history of the country, circumstances and passing time, often erase facts, that is why the reconstruction of the history of exhibits’ acquisition in museums is one of the most complicated aspects in museology. The article is dedicated to the presentation of Johann Friedrich Böttger’s (1682-1719) collection of red stone mass exhibits in Lithuanian museums and aims at revealing their history. Thanks to the archival register, it was possible to discover the inventory lists with descriptions of valuable works of art that had been prevented from being seized by Germans and preserved during the Soviet occupation. Among them, there were exhibits stored at the M.K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art. Particularly valuable are twelve items of red stone mass by J.F. Böttger. Their identification revealed not only the date (1940) and the manor (the Pakruojis manor, Šiauliai region, Lithuania) from which the nationalized art collection was transferred to the museum but also to whom [Leo Carl von der Ropp (27.09.1860 Pakruojis – 09.10.1940 Berlin)] it belonged. That is how the history of J.F. Böttger’s red stoneware exhibits has been unveiled. The Lithuanian Art Museum purchased two exhibits from private persons (1980 and 1982).

Abstract:
In three studies of romantic relationships (N = 253, N = 81, and N = 98) the hypothesis was tested that high narcissists, relative to low narcissists, distort the assessment of equity in attractiveness. Narcissism was measured by the Narcissistic Personality Inventory. In Study 1 the hypothesis was confirmed. In Study 2 it was shown that although narcissism correlated significantly with self-esteem, it was the unique variance in narcissism which predicted the tendency to feel underbenefited in respect to attractiveness. Finally in Study 3, dyadic data were analyzed on the basis of the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model. The data of 49 couples who lived together were included. The dyadic analysis indicated that actor narcissism exerted the expected influence on perceived inequity in attractiveness, whereas partner narcissism explained no additional variance. High narcissists felt more underbenefited than low narcissists. The analysis of dyadic data in Study 3 indicates that the link between narcissism and equity in attractiveness turns out to be an intrapersonal phenomenon because only actor narcissism, not partner narcissism, is significantly correlated with perceived inequity. In addition, partial intraclass correlations revealed that if one partner tended to feel underbenefited, the other partner tended to feel overbenefited. The results are explained on the basis of the agentic model of narcissism. All three studies consistently revealed a gender effect indicating that women felt more underbenefited than men in terms of attractiveness.

Abstract:
TPS1121 Background: Cutaneous metastases occur in approximately 20% of patients (pts) with metastatic breast cancer (mBC) and can be highly symptomatic and distressing. Radiation is frequently offered, but progression often occurs quickly. Photodynamic therapy is a promising approach with encouraging results in small studies. Here we will evaluate a novel Continuous Low-Irradiance Photodynamic Therapy (CLIPT) system that emits 690nm LED via a handheld powerpack attached to a single-use sterile light patch to deliver a total energy level of 10J/cm2. Verteporfin (Visudyne) is a photosensitizer approved for ophthalmological use that when combined with CLIPT generates activated oxygen species which can destroy tumor cells with limited normal tissue reaction. Methods: This open label, phase 2 study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of CLIPT with verteporfin in 15 pts with cutaneous lesions from mBC. Pts will receive a single IV injection of verteporfin on day 1. The 9x9cm patch with an adhesive border is placed over the treatment site and attached to the CLIPT portable power pack. The pt turns the device on at home 6 hours after the verteprofin injection and it automatically turns off after 24 hours. The pt will remove the patch and return to clinic on day 3. The primary endpoint is objective response rate (RR) at 3 weeks following CLIPT using a modified RECIST which accounts for nodular or diffuse plaque-like lesions. Secondary endpoints include RR at 2, 8 and 12 weeks, toxicity, and quality of life (using FACT-B, a Participant Symptom Scale, and Brief Pain Inventory). Pts who derive clinical benefit may be retreated up to 3 times to the same or different region. Eligible pts will have: cutaneous metastases from mBC with measurable disease by protocol defined modified RECIST 1.1, ≥ 1 line of prior systemic or local therapy for mBC, ≥ 14 days from prior systemic therapy or 60 days from radiation to target lesion, and no expectation for systemic therapy for ≥ 14 days after CLIPT. RR will be reported with 95% CI. If ≥ 3 responses (RR ≥ 20%) are observed, the null hypothesis of RR ≤ 5% will be rejected. At the time of abstract submission, 1 patient has been accrued. Abstract:
This is the second part of the article dedicated to the discussion of some methodological problems related to the history of Khinalug, published in the current volume of Iran and the Caucasus (see Schulze 2018). Whereas the first part analyses some basic data on Khinalug in its genetic problem and addressed some questions of loans and cognates, the second one turns to grammatical issues. Khinalug, a minority language spoken by some 1500 people mainly in the village of Khinalug in the north of Azerbaijan Republic, is generally regarded as the most divergent East Caucasian language. Its exact genealogical place within the world of the roughly 30 East Caucasian languages has been debated since long. Still, at least some of the relevant contributions to this debate ground their arguments in just a rather small piece of evidence, usually taken from a handful of assumed lexical correspondences and typological analogies. The same holds for grammar. As for morphosyntax, the problem is complicated by the fact that hitherto it is virtually impossible to safely reconstruct a more systematic inventory of Proto-East Caucasian morphemes together with their function values. A closer look at the morphosyntax of Khinalug may lead to just the same conclusion that seems to emerge from a more comprehensive analysis of the lexicon: I suggest, to consider the possibility that Khinalug is not an East Caucasian language from a genetic point of view, but a non-East Caucasian language that has become ‘Caucasianized’ over times.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction Medical doctor competency exams (UKMPPD) in Indonesia is a final test that should be followed by medical student before being declared worthy of a medical doctor’s degree. This exam is certainly intended with good intentions, in order to improve the standards and quality of graduates of Indonesian doctors. However, each policy turns out to have two opposite sides of the situation, on the one hand it is profitable but on the other it often creates new problems. Students’ fear of the competency test often causes new psychological problems for students. No doubt the failure of the competency exam causes students to experience prolonged disappointment and sadness, which in turn will cause depression. This research is the first research that aim to present a description of personality and psychopathology dimension data from UKMPPD participants who failed the test. Method This study was an exploratory descriptive study by presenting narratives of personality and psychopathology dimensions of unsuccessful UKMPPD participants. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sriwijaya Palembang, Indonesia. Each participant was assessed personality and psychopathology dimensions using MMPI-2 (Minnesota Multiaxial Personality Inventory-2). The results of analysis with MMPI-2 present data in the form of clinical psychic conditions, the work capacity, interpersonal relationships, the work abilities and the ability to change the self potential of the research subjects. Result The research subjects were UKMPPD participants who did not successfully pass the first exam. From 7 research subjects, there were 2 subjects who successfully passed the second exam (28.5%) and there were 3 people who successfully passed after the third exam (43%). Meanwhile, 2 research subjects have not successfully passed the UKMPPD exam until the fifth exam (28.5%). The results are quite surprising that of the 7 participants who failed to pass the UKMPPD exam, all of them felt depression. Conclusion Medical students who experienced UKMPPD failures have an inability to develop their own potential which result in depression due to failure of the exam

Abstract:
Recently, the demand for residence and usage of urban infrastructure has been increased, thereby resulting in the elevation of risk levels of human lives over natural calamities. The occupancy demand has rapidly increased the construction rate, whereas the inadequate design of structures prone to more vulnerability. Buildings constructed before the development of seismic codes have an additional susceptibility to earthquake vibrations. The structural collapse causes an economic loss as well as setbacks for human lives. An application of different theoretical methods to analyze the structural behavior is expensive and time-consuming. Therefore, introducing a rapid vulnerability assessment method to check structural performances is necessary for future developments. The process, as mentioned earlier, is known as Rapid Visual Screening (RVS). This technique has been generated to identify, inventory, and screen structures that are potentially hazardous. Sometimes, poor construction quality does not provide some of the required parameters; in this case, the RVS process turns into a tedious scenario. Hence, to tackle such a situation, multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods for the seismic vulnerability assessment opens a new gateway. The different parameters required by RVS can be taken in MCDM. MCDM evaluates multiple conflicting criteria in decision making in several fields. This paper has aimed to bridge the gap between RVS and MCDM. Furthermore, to define the correlation between these techniques, implementation of the methodologies from Indian, Turkish, and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) codes has been done. The effects of seismic vulnerability of structures have been observed and compared.

Abstract:
The thin flim transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) module factories are in charge of the last process of the TFT-LCD supply chain, i.e., assembling LCD panels (produced from the former process in the supply chain) as well as electronic components into TFT-LCD panels or the finished products using TFT-LCD panels. Since the variation of machine processes and production techniques at the former process of the supply chain results in a variety of qualities of LCD panels, the finished products assembled with those LCD panels of different qualities are also of different qualities, according to which they are classified into different grades. This paper models the material allocation system for a TFT-LCD module factory based on the make-to-stock (MTS) production, in which one of the main designs is to allow the flexibility that the finished products of higher grades are able to be downgraded to respond to the drastic variation of customer requirements for each grade of finished products. The system is modelled in detail by an integer programming approach that takes into account not only downgraded products but also the customer requirements for the quality qualification rate and the lower bound of non-dot-defect rate of products, to maximize the total profit of the product portfolio. The model is evaluated by conducting an experimental study for a numerical example, which turns out that the proposed system looks promising as it determines a feasible product portfolio that decreases both the inventory of LCD panels and the volume of unqualified products while maintaining a high profit.

Abstract:
We present an object-based image analysis (OBIA) approach to identify temporal changes in radar-intensity images and to locate land-cover changes caused by mass-wasting processes at small to large scales, such as landslides. Our approach is based upon change detection in SAR intensity images that remain in their original imaging coordinate system rather than being georeferenced and map-projected, in order to reduce accumulation of filtering artifacts and other unwanted effects that would deteriorate the detection efficiency. Intensity images in their native slant-range coordinate frame allow for a consistent level of detection of land-cover changes. By analyzing intensity images, a much faster response can be achieved and images can be processed as soon as they are made publicly available. In this study, OBIA was introduced to systematically and semiautomatically detect landslides in image pairs with an overall accuracy of at least 60% when compared to in-situ landslide inventory data. In this process, the OBIA feature extraction component was supported by derived data from a polarimetric decomposition as well as by texture indices derived from the original image data. The results shown here indicate that most of the landslide events could be detected when compared to a closer visual inspection and to established inventories, and that the method could therefore be considered as a robust detection tool. Significant deviations are caused by the limited geometric resolution when compared to field data and by an additional detection of stream-related sediment redeposition in our approach. This overdetection, however, turns out to be potentially beneficial for assessing the risk situation after landslide events.

Abstract:Study of the concept of Money, according to al-Ghazali (the study Analysis in the book Ihya ' Ulum al-Din) is something that is interesting al-Ghazali figures considering with the depth of their knowledge no doubt by a muslin or non muslim thinkers of the times until now, she was known as an expert tasawauf than an economist. However, al-Ghazali turns out to have an independent view on the issue of money. The question that arises is how the concept of money, according to al-Ghazali's Ihya Ulum al in Al-Din?This research used the qualitative approach, and the Office research library research. As a first step in this research is an inventory of data sources, namely the collection of references that are relevant to research topics, in accordance with the research objectives. From the sources of the data, collected, identified and recorded all of the information that has relevance to the themes of researchOf research results as well as searches of the Ihya ' Ulum al-Din, was that the concept of money al-Ghazali is inseparable with ethical values, al-Ghazali argues that money is something which is very important in business activity, because money is one of the delights of God, money is the enforcement of the world, and humans will always need it, then al-Ghazali argued that the function of money is as a means of Exchange is not as a commodity that could be sold. Al-Ghazali warned of the dangers of false money and how the solution, so also he warned that the danger of usury can damage the joints, so that Muslims are always vigilant and always ask for the fatwas of the scholars in order to avoid the usury.Keyword: Money, al-Ghazali, Analysis

Abstract:
Abstract. Mobile mapping technology is an effective method to collect geospatial data with high point density and accuracy. It is mainly used for asset inventory and map generation, as well as road maintenance (detecting road cracks and ruts, and measuring flatness). Equipment of former mobile mapping systems (MMS) is large in size and usually installed (hard-mounted) onto dedicated vehicle. Cost-effectiveness and flexibility of MMS have not been regarded as important until Leica Pegasus series, a much smaller system with integrated and configurable components, come out. In this paper, we show you how we realize a versatile MMS with a Pegasus II loaded on a remodelled Japanese light vehicle (small size and less than a cubic capacity of 660 cc). Besides Pegasus II and data-processing PC, we equip this system with a small crane to bring the sensor onto a different platform, an electric cart to survey narrow roads or pedestrian walkway, and a boat attachment so that the sensor can be fixed on a boat. Thus, one Pegasus II can collect data from various platforms. This paper also discusses the precision and accuracy of the Pegasus II working on various platforms. When mounted on a light vehicle, we verified the accuracy of the difference with GCP and evaluated the accuracy of the road maintenance (detecting road cracks and ruts, and measuring flatness). When mounted on an electric cart, we verified the accuracy of the difference with GCP on a pedestrian road and generated road hazard map as a data utilization. When mounted on a boat, we verified the accuracy of the difference with GCP on a dam slope and created slope shading map of landslide area as a data utilization. It turns out that Pegasus II can totally achieve to required surveying-grade.

Abstract:
Accurate geospatial modeling of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is an essential part of the future of global GHG monitoring systems. Our previous work found a systematic displacement in the high-resolution carbon dioxide (CO2) emission raster data of the Open-source Data Inventory for Anthropogenic CO2 (ODIAC) emission product. It turns out this displacement is due to geolocation bias in the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) nighttime lights (NTL) data products, which are used as a spatial emission proxy for estimating non-point source emissions distributions in ODIAC. Mitigating such geolocation error (~1.7 km), which is on the same order of the size of the carbon observing satellites field of view, is especially critical for the spatial analysis of emissions from cities. In this paper, there is proposed a method to mitigate the geolocation bias in DMSP NTL data that can be applied to DMSP NTL-based geospatial products, such as ODIAC. To identify and characterize the geolocation bias, we used the OpenStreetMap repository to define city boundaries for a large number of global cities. Assumption is that the total emissions within the city boundaries are at the maximum if there is no displacement (geolocation bias) in NTL data. Therefore, it is necessary to find an optimal vector (distance and angle) that maximizes the ODIAC total emissions within cities by shifting the emission fields. In the process of preparing annual composites of the nighttime stable lights data, some pixels of the DMSP data corresponding to water bodies were zeroed, which due to the geolocation bias unreasonably distorted the ODIAC emission fields. Hence, an original approach for restoring data in such pixels is considered using elimination of the factor that distorted the ODIAC emission fields. It is also proposed a bias correction method for shifted high-resolution emission fields in ODIAC. The bias correction was applied to multiple cities from the different continents. It is shown that the bias correction to the emission data (elimination of geolocation error in non-point emission source fields) increases the total CO2 emissions within city boundaries by 4.76% on average, due to reduced emissions from non-urban areas to which these emissions were likely to be erroneously attributed.
