Full textThe thesis studies the necesities of blind people and the spaces they need to develop skills that will help their reintegration into society. Both, architectural and technicall issues are analyzed and used as a basis for the design of the Integration and Development Center for the Blind in the distict of Comas. The research seeks to study the environment, spaces, activities and especific aspects that help blind people learn and develop skills. Architecture plays an important role in the project; the spaces created must be navigable for the blind, the building can’t be though as any other in the city. The purpose is to create and equipment that provides better care and quality of life to people with blindness. The idea is that in the Integration and Development Center for the Blind, users are given the necessary tools for their social, academic and economic development. The Integration and Development Center for the Blind seeks to create spaces where ties, connection between individuals can be created through activities of mutual interest. It very is important the study of the user, to whom the project is directed, this will condition the architectural design.

Full textCurrently in the country, the educational level of people with disabilities is basic, there is a lack of spaces for the education and recreation of people with visual disabilities or of any other type. In Lima, there are only 3 educational centers for the blind population at school, which continues to be a problem, since not all of them attend regularly because they live in other remote districts. That is why the thesis project is an Education Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, located in San Juan de Lurigancho, a district in which the majority of the visually impaired population is found. In this project, neuroarchitecture was analyzed and developed through the design of educational spaces that respond to the basic spatial needs of a blind person with total or partial blindness, from a legible accessibility, to generating sensations within the space itself that allows it to be recognized by its other senses. In this way, it is also integrated into nature as a guide, through the haptic, auditory and olfactory sense. This project seeks to break the taboo of an excluded population who, by requiring some type of special attention, due to a disability, see them as incapable of carrying out daily activities, when we all deserve to have spaces that promote our development

Full textAccess to administrative information (information provided by an educational institution, such as schedules, grades, payments) crucial for university students, and is usually provided through an intranet. However, for blind students, accessing information from a website is complicated, because they are unable to adapt to the exact distribution of buttons, icons and links. Although there are assistive technologies that seek to improve a blind student’s experience, the acquisition of these tools represents a high cost for educational institutions, and, what is more, these technologies summed up together do not accomplish the objective of allowing the user to access the intranet in a fast and independent way. As a result, this project aims to implement a technological solution that acts as an interface between a university intranet and a blind student, allowing him or her access to the most widely used options in a simple way through a mobile application. The purpose is to send voice signals to the user while he or she slides his or her finger across the screen, since it is integrated with a screen reader. The obtained results show that the proposed solution is an optimal way of interaction for users because it shortens the time of the intranet access process. In addition, even blind people without previous experience using smartphones would navigate through the application in a simple and intuitive way.

Full textEducation in general, is one of the most important issues for the development of people and the country; however, in Peru, there is a big problem, which is the little importance that is given to education for people with disabilities, in this opportunity, the assignment focuses on people with visual disabilities, who don’t have so many specialized centers for the education of these users, they are forced to take in regular schools, so they decide to leave their studies because they do not have the same rhythm of learning as other students. Therefore, the project consists of a Center for Education and Integration for the Blind and Visually Deficents, which will be carried out under the concept of sensorial architecture focused on an architecture for the blind, which will achieve a better development of the users both outside and inside of the place. What is sought to achieve with this project, being an educational and integration center, is to provide the necessary knowledge for a good physical, social and professional development in their day to day. In this assignment will explain different points necessary to understand how this type of project should work, such as the behavior of the person with visual disability, the characteristics that the place where the project was located must be, the necessary spaces for a better user development, among others.
