14-GHz electron cyclotron resonance ion source (ECRIS) at the Heavy Ion Research Facility National Laboratory in Lanzhou has been used to investigate the radiative deexcitation of highly charged Ar 17+ and Ar 16+ ions as they interact with a molybdenum surface. The interaction of Ar 17+ and Ar 16+ ions above Mo Metallic Surface has been studied by looking at the X-rays with a Si ( Li ) detector. ECRIS is used in our work for the first time. As the experimental results, the X-ray spectra of Ar 17+ and Ar 16+ ions interacting with a Mo metal target have been given. The capture of many electrons

In the present work, mechanisms of Ar K X-ray production have been investigated under low-energy Arq+ + Ar collisions in a wide range of the ion-charge states. Ar K X-rays have been observed as a function of the collision energy over (0.75–3.75)q keV/u and of the charge state over q = 8–16 of projectile Arq+ ions. If the L-shell vacancies become available (q = 9), Ar K X-ray yields are found to be enhanced roughly three orders of magnitude, compared with Ar8+ ions with no L-shell vacancy; to show some threshold; and to tend to quickly saturate at higher collision energies. We investigated THz emission from Ar-ion-implanted Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) films. THz radiation from the CIGS films increases as the density of implanted Ar ions increases. This is because Ar ions contribute to an increase in the surface surge current density. The effect of Ar-ion implantation on the carrier dynamics of CIGS films was also investigated using optical pump THz probe spectroscopy. The fitted results imply that implanted Ar ions increase the charge transition of intra-and carrier–carrier scattering lifetimes and decrease the bandgap transition lifetime.

The time-of-flight (TOF) spectra of Ar+ and Ar fragments produced in the photodissociation of Arn+ (3 ≦ n ≧ 24) were measured at wavelength around 540 nm. The kinetic-energy and angular distributions of the neutral photofragments were obtained for n = 3, 9 and 24 by a simulation analysis of the measured TOF spectral profiles. The overall aspect of the photodissociation process of Arn+ is deduced from these distributions within the context of trimer ion core model; a linear Ar3+ core is solvated by neutral Ar atoms. In this work, a reaction mechanism of formation of noble gas (Ng) cluster ions has been theoretically investigated in detail. The kinetic studies of formation of Xe+Xe cluster in Xe, Ar+Ar cluster ions in Ar, and Ne+Ne cluster ions in Ne have been made as theoretically. The optimized structures in the ground state were calculated using the density functional theory (DFT) by the B3LYP method combined with the Stuttgart/Dresden effective core potential basis set (SDD). In addition, we calculated the rate constants of all cluster formations. The results are 1.15 × 10−31, 3.58 × 10−31, 0.23 × 10−3

Abstract:
Ar+ double peaks were observed in the time-of-flight spectra resulting from tunnel ionization of a xenon-argon gas mixture by an intense 10.6 µ laser. Experimental and theoretical analysis indicate that the double peaks are related to space-charge effects. Coulomb expansion of the two-component ion bunch produced in the laser focal region results in the formation of an external shell of Ar+ ions (due to its larger charge/mass ratio), surrounding the core of Xe+ ions (smaller charge/mass ratio). Subsequent cutting of Ar shell on the aperture diaphragm of the TOF mass-spectrometer produces two p

Abstract:
Laser induced fluorescence as a selective and sensitive diagnostic tool is used for ion beam analysis downstream from the skimmer in an ICPMS. Using selected spectral lines, analyte atoms and ions and Ar metastable atoms are measured for a range of ICP operating conditions, vacuum pressures and over a wide range of element’s masses. To our knowledge, optical measurements of ions extracted from an ICP, either by emission [1-2] or by laser induced fluorescence [3-4], were limited to the first stage of ion extraction and only few probe elements were chosen.
