This is a comparative study of open-source IoT middleware platforms with the main focus on scalability and reliability. An initial evaluation of available open-source IoT platforms resulted in Kaa and Node-RED being the focus of this thesis. To further analyse the platforms, they were both subjected to testing with three real-world scenarios.
