Abstract:
The 50-item International Personality Item Pool version of the Big Five Markers (IPIP-BFM) is an open-source and widely used measure of the big five personality traits. A short version of this measure (IPIP-BFM-25) has been developed using the classical test theory approach. No study was performed to examine the psychometric properties of a longer and shorter version of IPIP-BFM Indonesia using modern test theory. This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Indonesian version of IPIP-BFM as well as IPIP-BFM-25 using Rasch analysis. The analysis was conducted in order to test their dimensionality, rating scale functioning, item properties, person responses, targeting, reliability, and item bias on 1003 Indonesian samples. The findings showed that both IPIP-BFM and IPIP-BFM-25 Indonesia have some adequate psychometric properties, especially regarding category function, item properties, reliability, and item bias. However, the emotional stability and intellect scales did not meet the assumption of unidimensionality, and all items on the scales were too easy to endorse by participants. In general, longer measures outperformed shorter measures in terms of person separation and reliability. Further testing and refinement must be conducted.

Abstract:
This study aimed to investigate the extent to which the Big Five Personality traits influence suicidal ideation in individuals transitioning into emerging adulthood. A quantitative approach was employed, with a purposive sample of 100 individuals aged 18-25 who had experienced suicidal ideation. Two primary instruments were utilized: the IPIP-BFM-50 scale to measure participants' personality traits on the five dimensions, and the Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation to assess the frequency and intensity of suicidal thoughts. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to analyze the data. Results indicated that of the five personality dimensions, only Neuroticism demonstrated a significant relationship with suicide ideation. Specifically, higher scores on the Neuroticism dimension were associated with a greater likelihood of experiencing suicidal thoughts.

Abstract:
Abstract : This study develops a character evaluation model for PT.XYZ’s customers in microfinance credit risk management. Integrating psychological and industrial engineering approaches, this research assesses customer personality using the International Personality Item Pool Big-Five Factor Marker-25 (IPIP BFM-25). The five personality dimensions, which are Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism, are assessed to classify customers according to their credit risk level. Decision Tree is employed for the classification of customers into risk groups, and the latter are represented graphically with Traffic Light Analysis (TLA) color codes green (low risk), yellow (medium risk), and red (high risk). Research reveals that the predictors of the classification of credit risk are most powerful for conscientiousness and neuroticism, with more conscientiousness equating to less risk and more neuroticism equating to more risk. Most of the customers are medium-risk, and more assessment is necessary prior to granting credit. The study reveals advantages of applying tests of psychology for making financial judgments, giving a better method to financial institutions than traditional financial standards for assessing creditworthiness. The approach enhances risk forecasting quality, assists with the minimization of non-performing.

Abstract:
Cyber affair is an affair in the form of emotional or sexual, carried out through virtual contacts. The cyber affair has various factors, including personality traits and relationship satisfaction. This study aims to determine the role of relationship satisfaction as a moderator of the relationship between personality traits and cyber affair in young adult dating individuals. There are three measurements used in this study, Social Media Infidelity-Related Behavior, IPIP-BFM-25 dimensions of extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and Relationship Assessment Scale. The sampling technique used was convenience sampling, with 734 participants obtained. Statistical analysis includes descriptive statistics, correlations, covariates, and moderation to answer the research questions. As a result, the conscientiousness personality trait has a significant negative correlation with cyber affair. Moderation analysis indicates no moderating effect of relationship satisfaction on the relationship between personality traits and cyber affair. It is thought to be caused by a reduced correlation between personality traits and cyber affair due to the influence of relationship satisfaction.

Abstract:
Background/Objective: The Dark Future Scale (DFS) is a self-report instrument which assesses the tendency to think about the future with anxiety, fear, and uncertainty. Although it has been applied in different populations, instrumental studies are scarce, and there is no validated Spanish version. The aim was therefore to develop a Spanish version of the scale (DFS-S) and to analyze its psychometric properties in a sample of young adults. Method: Participants were 1,019 individuals aged from 18 to 24 years. They completed the DFS-S and the IPIP-BFM-20. Validity evidence based on the internal structure, including measurement invariance across gender, as well as on relationships with personality traits was obtained. Reliability and gender differences in DFS-S scores were also examined. Results: Results supported a single-factor structure, χ2(5) = 10.79, CFI = .999, RMSEA = .034, SRMR = .016, that was invariant across gender. Reliability of test scores was satisfactory (ω = .92). In the correlation analysis, future anxiety showed a strong positive correlation with neuroticism (.42) and a moderate negative correlation with extraversion (-.25). Females scored higher than males on future anxiety. Conclusions: The DFS-S has satisfactory psychometric properties and it is an adequate tool for measuring future anxiety among young adults.

Abstract:
Individual innovative behavior reflects the exploration and application of new ideas in the work environment. Personality and cultural orientation (individualism vs. collectivism) play an important role in shaping an employee's innovative tendencies. Unfortunately, most current research still examines personality factors and cultural orientation factors separately, even though both factors have great potential to be interrelated in predicting individual innovative behavior. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of personality and cultural orientation on individual innovative behavior in the workplace. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, with a total of 265 participants who are employees with at least one year of work experience. The research instruments consisted of the individual innovative behavior scale, the IPIP-BFM-25 Indonesia Scale, and the cultural orientation scale. The results of the study showed that individualist orientation, intellect personality, and conscientiousness were significantly related to the tendency of innovative behavior. Individuals who are open to new experiences, tend to be individualistic, have strong self-discipline, and have a high level of education are more likely to show innovative behavior. In addition, these characteristics are more often observed in male employees. Meanwhile, collectivism did not show a significant relationship with innovative behavior. These findings have important implications, both theoretically and practically. Theoretically, this study confirms that personality and culture orientation can play a role in shaping innovative behavior, although there is variation in their effects. Practically, these results indicate the importance of developing human resource management strategies that can encourage innovation by considering individual factors and work culture.

Abstract:
Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a widespread condition affecting women, marked by a combination of psychological, behavioral, and physical symptoms that typically occur in the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. These symptoms can significantly disrupt daily life, including academic performance and overall well-being. The intensity of PMS symptoms may be influenced by several factors, one of which is personality. This study explores the relationship between personality traits, particularly those identified in the Big Five model, and the severity of PMS symptoms among female medical students at Universitas Airlangga. This research utilized a correlational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample comprised 91 female medical students from the 2022 cohort at Universitas Airlangga, selected using consecutive sampling. Data were collected through two questionnaires: the Premenstrual Syndrome Questionnaire (PSQ) to assess PMS severity, and the IPIP BFM-25 to measure personality traits based on the Big Five Personality Model. Spearman’s rank-order correlation was used to analyze the relationship between personality traits and PMS severity. 96% of participants reported PMS symptoms, with 51% experiencing moderate, 37% mild, and 8% severe symptoms. A significant positive correlation was found between neuroticism (r = 0.469, p < 0.001) and PMS severity, suggesting that higher emotional instability correlates with more severe PMS symptoms. A weak but significant correlation was also found between openness to experience and PMS severity (r = 0.256, p = 0.014). No significant relationships were observed between PMS severity and other personality traits such as conscientiousness, extraversion, and agreeableness. The study highlights that emotional traits, particularly neuroticism and openness to experience, play a significant role in PMS severity. Female medical students exhibiting higher neuroticism and openness are more likely to experience more intense PMS symptoms, emphasizing the importance of addressing emotional health and developing interventions for emotional regulation to mitigate PMS effects.

Abstract:

The approach enhances risk forecasting quality, assists with the minimization of non-performing.

Abstract:
The growth of e-commerce platforms in Indonesia has led to a significant surge, intensifying market rivalry and pushing companies to prioritize establishing customer loyalty. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the impact of the big five personality traits and customer trust on customer loyalty. The present study employed a quantitative methodology, utilizing a correlational research design. The researchers employed purposive sampling to conduct the sampling process. It comprised 145 customers who had engaged in several transactions on online retail platforms and employed the IPIP-BFM-25 scale, Customer Trust Scale, and Customer Loyalty Scale as research instruments. The data collected from online questionnaires was further analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques. Extraversion, agreeableness, and openness—three essential characteristics from the Big Five personality model—are shown to have an impact on customer loyalty in the current study. On the contrary, conscientiousness and neuroticism do not influence customer loyalty. Additionally, this study demonstrates a significant positive relationship between customer trust and loyalty. The findings of this study can be used by companies to formulate effective strategies to sustain client loyalty.

Abstract:
Abstract. Dating relationships don't always go well for every couple. Violence can happen to every couple. Based on the results of the pre-survey conducted, the impact that occurs on victims of dating violence is that they continue to blame themselves, feel worthless so they do self-criticism because they have had a bad experience from their partner. Personality traits can determine the unique adjustment to the environment that influences individuals to be able or not to do self-criticism. This study aims to obtain the results of a study on the relationship between personality traits and self-criticism in victims of dating violence. This hypothesis is that there is a correlation between the big five personality trait and self-criticism in victims of dating violence. The researcher collected data using the FSCRS (The Forms of Self criticism / Self-Reassuring Scale) scale from Gilbert (2004) which was adapted by Nadia Altiany (2019) and the International Personal Item Pool – Big Five Model -25 (IPIP-BFM). -25) from Goldberg (1992) which has been adapted by Akhtar (2018). The results of this study indicate the relationship between extraversion and self criticism, r = 0.485, p = 0.000, agreeableness and self-criticism, r = 0.527, p = 0.000, conscientiousness and self-criticism, r = 0.702, p = 0.000, neuroticism with self criticism value r = 0.608 p value = 0.000, and openness to experience with self criticism value r = -0.205 p value = 0.053. This means that it shows a significant relationship between personality traits and self-criticism above with a fairly close category, only on the openness to experience trait which has a low category. Keywords: Trait, Self-Criticism, Dating Violence

Abstract:
AbstractThe aim of the study was to assess the relationship between personality traits, self-esteem and life satisfaction, and also the stress level, among dentists during the COVID-19 outbreak. In order to confirm our hypotheses, 310 active dentists aged 25–64 years who were practising during the first wave of COVID-19 in Poland were examined. The IPIP-BFM-20 self-report questionnaire was used to measure personality traits, the popular Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale was used to assess self-esteem, the five-item Satisfaction with Life Scale was used to measure life satisfaction and the four-item version of the Perceived Stress Scale was used to measure stress. The dependent variable—stress—correlates negatively with traits in relation to the dimensions of extraversion (r = −0.17, p < 0.01), emotional stability (r = −0.35, p < 0.01) and intellect (r = −0.16, p < 0.01); it also has a negative correlation with self-esteem (r = −0.37, p < 0.01) and life satisfaction (r = −0.35, p < 0.01). Among the analysed variables, the highest correlations are observed for the following: self-esteem and emotional stability (r = 0.51, p < 0.01); self-esteem and life satisfaction (r = 0.49, p < 0.01); extraversion and intellect (r = 0.47, p < 0.01). Considering the measures of mediation relevance and pathway relevance, it can be assumed that both self-esteem and life satisfaction have a mediating function in the relationship between agreeableness, emotional stability and stress: the relationship between emotional stability and stress is negative whereas that between agreeableness and stress is positive.

Abstract:
BackgroundInsulin resistance (IR), a key factor in type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome, also poses substantial psychosocial challenges when coexisting with obesity. Epidemiological trends indicate a rising prevalence of obesity worldwide, heightening the importance of understanding psychological dimensions such as personality traits, self-esteem, and coping strategies.ObjectiveThis exploratory pilot study compared personality traits, self-esteem, and stress-coping strategies in women reporting a physician-confirmed IR with those in a control group, highlighting further implications for health promotion, education, and therapy.Material and methodsThe pilot study involved 148 women aged 21-65 years (mean age 33.57 ± 8.74; BMI ≥ 25) who were recruited by social media. Of these 29 (19.6%) self-reported a physician-confirmed IR diagnosis, while 119 did not. Personality traits were assessed using the International Personality Item Pool-Big Five Markers-50 (IPIP-BFM-50), self-esteem with the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (SES), and coping strategies with the COPE inventory (15 subscales). Descriptive statistics (M, SD, skewness, kurtosis) and the Mann-Whitney U test were used, justified by non-normal distributions and unequal group sizes.ResultsParticipants with self-declared IR demonstrated significantly lower Emotional Stability (p < 0.05). No other significant differences emerged in self-esteem or the remaining Big Five traits. Both groups frequently utilized adaptive coping (e.g., Planning, Active Coping), though self-declared IR participants trended toward emotion-focused strategies (not statistically significant).ConclusionsThese findings suggest that lower Emotional Stability may impair effective stress adaptation in women with self-declared IR, underscoring the need to incorporate psychological interventions (e.g., emotional regulation training, psychoeducation) into standard IR and obesity management. Future research with larger samples and objective IR clinical markers is recommended.
