ResumenEn los años 1930 y 1940, el filólogo y diplomático italiano Ippolito Galante realizó las primeras ediciones críticas de textos coloniales en quechua, entre ellos el Manuscrito de Huarochirí. Fue también el director fundador del Instituto de Filología de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, donde estableció una cátedra de quechua en 1938. Su legado para la filología y la lingüística quechuas fue importante y duradero, pero también tuvo algunas limitaciones claves. Este artículo examina la carrera de Ippolito Galante y los contextos políticos y culturales de sus proyectos quechuistas, especialmente las reacciones encontradas que provocaron en Lima.Palabras clave: filología quechua, Ippolito Galante, lingüística amerindia, ideologías lingüísticas AbstractIn the 1930s and 1940s, the Italian philologist and diplomat Ippolito Galante made the first critical editions of colonial texts in Quechua, including the Huarochirí Manuscript. His legacy for Quechua philology and linguistics was significant and durable, but also had some key limitations. L’articolo offre un’ipotesi di comprensione di un controverso passaggio di Ippolito, Contra Noetum 10,1-11,2, in cui la Sapienza prima sembra differenziarsi dal Verbo e poi identificarvisi. Ora, le attività che Ippolito attribuisce rispettivamente al Verbo e alla Sapienza sono le stesse che anche Ireneo attribuisce loro; ma per Ireneo la Sapienza è lo Spirito Santo. D’altra parte, talvolta Ireneo attribuisce l’attività di una persona divina a quella a lei superiore nell’ordine dell’economia, probabilmente secondo la concezione teologica per cui lo Spirito procede dal Verbo. Con questo parallelo è possibile spiegare perché Ippolito prima differenzia la Sapienza dal Verbo e poi ve la identifica.

In conclusione, viene considerato il problema della diffusione degli scritti di Nievo con un appunto finale sulle recenti traduzioni delle Confessioni.

Nell’episodio di Cacciaguida sull’esilio Dante appare paragonato a Fetonte e a Ippolito. I due personaggi classici sono ricordati in contiguità con i loro genitori, proprio nel contesto dell’incontro tra il pellegrino cristiano e il suo antenato. In questo lavoro si esamina il topos dei due diversi triangoli familiari di cui Dante fa parte lungo il viaggio nell’aldilà, e lo si mette in rapporto con la fortuna dell’esule e il destino del poeta. Si tenta inoltre di illuminare, attraverso lo sviluppo del legame filiale di Dante con Virgilio, Beatrice e Cacciaguida, il senso dell’apparente contraddizione tra l’annunciato dal poeta latino in If X 132 e l’effettivamente accaduto in Par XVII. Infine, si analizza lo slittamento semantico che comporta il passaggio dalla analogia del pellegrino con Fetonte a quella con Ippolito.

Già Herder nel suo libro Ideen zur Philosophie der Geschichte der Menschheit sottolineò l'importanza e il ruolo degli Slavi, chiamati per la loro indole pacifica e mansueta ad interpretare le fondamentali esigenze dell' epoca nuova: quelle della fraterna collaborazione tra i popoli. Objetivo. Se presenta una lista sistemática de los Mantodea depositados en la colección del Laboratorio de Entomología Universidad de la Amazonia LEUA. Metodología. Se realizó consulta de fuentes bibliográficas específicas y se revisó con la ayuda de estereomicroscopio el material del orden Mantodea conservado en seco en la colección. Resultados. Se encontró un centenar de ejemplares pertenecientes a 20 géneros y 31 especies, para los que se presentan claves taxonómicas para la identidad de algunos géneros relevantes y una lista ilustrada de las especies halladas. Alcance. Dentro del material se reportan cinco nuevos registros para la fauna colombiana como sigue: Thesprotiella peruana Beier, 1935; Acanthops erosula Stal, 1877; A. royi Lombardo & Ippolito, 2004, A. elegans Lombardo & Ippolito, 2004 y Oxyopsis festae Giglo-Tos, 1883. Se amplía el ámbito de distribución de Chaeteessa nigromarginata Salazar, 2004 previamente conocida del Magdalena medio para la región amazónica. Conclusión. Estos nuevos registros permiten concluir que la fauna de mántidos de la región es altamente diversificada en especial para las regiones de piedemonte.

Abstract:
Ippolito Nievo’s long autobiographical novel, Confessions of an Italian (Confessioni di un italiano), also known as ‘Confessions of an Octogenarian’ (Confessioni di un ottuagenario), in reference to its 80-year-old narrator, was actually written when the writer was…twenty-nine. The narrator takes on the role of an old man reflecting on his own life – from childhood, through youth until middle and old age – making the reader believe that he is dealing with the memories of a life already lived. Indeed, Nievo must have taken inspiration from his grandfather’s life at the turn of the nineteenth century to which he added his own experience. The irony of fate is well-known: The author died at the age of 29 and the unfinished novel was published in 1867, six years after his death. Since then, it has remained an outstanding literary specimen in both Italian and European literature. In this paper, we will dwell in particular on the clever outline of the narrator. The distance between the real and the fake narrator certainly belongs to the purest autobiographical tradition, and yet it offers here a further challenge to the writer, constantly trying to share his lifelong experience with the reader and the character himself. All things considered, Nievo foresaw both his own life and how he would have written it, as if he had already lived it and was about to die.

Abstract:
Ever since Hans Holbein the Younger completed his painting, The Dead Christ in the Tomb, in 1522, a question has been looming over it, namely, what message does this dead body convey? Having seen the painting in 1847, the Russian classic writer Fyodor Dostoevsky was also intrigued by this question. In his novel, The Idiot, Ippolit Terentyev seeks to give a systematic and direct answer. The article presents a hermeneutic analysis of his position, and classifies it as nihilistic. Nihilism affects all three levels of Ippolit's discourse - the ontic, eschatological and ontological. Nevertheless, the question remains: can such nihilism be justified from the perspective of the painting itself? Posing this question in the context of Alois Riegl’s periodization of European culture has proven to be interesting. He is of the opinion that, following the era of Christian monotheism, the third and the last period of the development of European culture is the natural-scientific period. This particular period, Riegl believes, began in 1520. If we choose to accept this periodization model, The Dead Christ may be seen as one of the first paintings of the modern era, keeping in mind that Holbein painted it in 1521 and 1522. As regards the issue of the body of The Dead Christ being immersed in physical suffering to the extent that the possibility of resurrection is excluded - as Ippolit presumes - this article offers certain reasons of an anatomical nature which may be interpreted theologically and which deny the validity of Ippolit’s modern, nihilistic hypothesis in regard to the meaning of Holbein's Dead Christ.

Abstract The Jesuit Ippolito Desideri (1684-1733) is commonly thought to have written the first genuinely scientific account of Tibetan culture for European audiences, but the description of Tibetan religion in the Jesuit’s Notizie istoriche de’ Regni del Thibet is notoriously confusing. Although he insists that Tibetan religion was “unlike any other in the world,” Desideri describes Tibetans with the well-worn categories of unbelievers, idolaters, and gentiles. He further complicates matters by describing their beliefs, opinions, laws, and religion as idolatrous, superstitious, perverse, and mythical. The sheer variety of terms gives the distinct impression that Desideri’s description of Tibetan religion has neither rhyme nor reason. But if one traces the evolution of Desideri’s descriptions of Tibetans and their religion through his writings—and reads his vocabulary in light of the scholasticism in which he was trained—order arises from chaos. In point of fact, Desideri’s description of Tibetan religion takes specific stances on important debates in early modern scholastic theology and is a notable exception to contemporary accounts of so-called “Oriental” philosophy.

Abstract:
Presso la Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana si conserva l’epistolario del letterato milanese Felice Bellotti (1786-1858), all’interno del quale si trova attestazione di un progetto editoriale attuato insieme a Camillo Ugoni per la pubblicazione della princeps, postuma, di una traduzione latina in esametri dei Sepolcri di Ippolito Pindemonte, realizzata da Gerolamo Federico Borgno negli anni Dieci dell’Ottocento ed edita da Resnati nel 1843. L’indagine presentata in questo scritto ha alla base una riflessione sulla possibilità di considerare realmente autoriale la traduzione stampata, alla luce del fatto che in tipografia non giunse l’autografo originale, bensì una trascrizione contenente numerose modifiche introdotte da Bellotti e Ugoni, i quali, tuttavia, pubblicarono il testo con il solo nome di Federico Borgno. I due curatori dell’edizione portarono in primo piano la propria lettura del testo, diversa a seconda della sensibilità testuale di ciascuno. Sono quindi formulate alcune considerazioni riguardanti la traduzione, e in particolare il difficile equilibrio fra la necessaria – ma non sempre rispettata – fedeltà al testo originale e le esigenze stilistiche e prosodiche, trattandosi di una versione poetica.
