Full textLegal base regulating educational system emphasizes knowledge based on information technologies. As ICT are penetrating into the process of vocational training the training methods and aids are changing and improving, an important role is falling on an educator – teacher. He/she must develop personal communication, literary and cultural competences as well as improve information and communication skills. This may be done by applying innovative ICT training methods and only when teacher has ICT competence. The objective of this work was to elucidate the application of information communication technologies in vocational training from the management and educational aspect. To that end research instruments were formed – questionnaire, according to which the above mentioned aspects were estimated from the point of view of students and teachers, and quality research was carried out by estimating the attitude of managers. 180 students, 100 teachers and 6 headmasters participated in the study carried out in Alanta, Anykščiai and Utena institutions of vocational training in December 2006. These institutions of vocational training do have conditions for application of electronic training aids. They provide themselves with IT aids by executing project activities and inducing teachers to participate in them. Full textThe information theory developed by Claude Shannon (1916 - 2001) highlights the fact that in order to increase the capacity of a transmission channel, it is preferable to extend the bandwidth used rather than the transmission power. This finding is the starting point of many papers on Ultra-Wideband (UWB) which led to the creation in the United States of UWB band since 2002 where no modulation is privileged. Two years later, many works on Impulsionnal Radio UWB (IR-UWB) communications began at IM2NP including the design of low noise amplifier, power detector, but also pulse generators which is the key element of IR-UWB emitters. These form basis of works presented in the manuscript that took place from 2008 to 2011. The discontinuous nature of communications impulse was first implied the introduction of new figures of merit for measuring performances of pulse generators. Then it deals with design techniques for sizing structures operating at frequencies involved, but also to reduce consumption and especially static leakage to reduce enough power consumption for embedded systems. Full textThe research work presented in this thesis is situated in the framework of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). The issue addressed is the design of a radio interface answering the specific needs of WSNs: simplicity, low cost, low power, small size, high data rate and reconfigurability. Current wireless technologies like WiFi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee are not able to respond to these requirements. Thus this study focuses on Impulse Radio Ultra-WideBand (IR-UWB) technology. At first, a joint study of the channel capacity and the hardware implementation is carried out to determine the optimal architecture of IR-UWB transceivers. This study proposes an architecture using multi-band IR-UWB (MB-UWB-IR) with a mixed implementation at 60 GHz with directional antennas. This solution is optimized according to the criteria of data rate and power consumption. To support the all the needs of WSN applications and to adapt to the evolution of the WSN’s environment, reconfigurability must be implemented in the proposed IR-UWB transceiver. This thesis presents a new solution: the reconfigurability by parameters. It supports the widest range of multi-property reconfigurability (with respect to data rate, bit error rate, radio range, power consumption, ...) of the state of the art. Finally, to validate these techniques by measurements, FPGA and ASIC implementations are realized by using the reconfigurability and the IR-UWB transceiver architecture proposed. A new method for joint synchronization and demodulation is proposed for a reconfigurable IR-UWB BPSK S-Rake receiver. The measurements show that the proposed technique improves the circuit performance: synchronization, demodulation, efficiency, network throughput, power consumption and complexity of the circuit. The proposed IR-UWB reconfigurable transceiver achieves a data rate and a wider range of reconfigurability compared to the state of the art

Full textThis Ph.D. Subject proposes the design of a new generation of wireless sensor networks (WSN) based on impulse radio ultra-wide band (IR-UWB), reconfigurable upon the application, reliable and ultra-low power. Applications like structure health monitoring of aerospace structures or portable smart sensing systems for human protection can be targeted. These industrial applications impose very demanding specifications for the wireless communication protocol (in some cases, new services are needed like: localization, clock synchronization, real-time transmission, etc) on one side, and for the circuit design, on the other side, as the ultra-low power circuits are needed. Energy efficiency is the major driver in today development of the wireless sensor networks. We chose impulse radio ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) technique for our developments. IR-UWB is a very promising technique able to respond to the wireless communication protocol constraints and to energy efficiency constraints.! The objective of this Ph.D. will be to design an ultra-low power IR-UWB transceiver. IR-UWB signal processing techniques has to be study and innovator solution has to be proposed for the implementation of the IR-UWB transceiver. The first prototype will be developed on FPGA boards (and/or USRP boards) and the final IR-UWB transceiver will be an ASIC in CMOS technology. The design of an ultra-low power consumption of the CMOS transceiver will be a major concern. Modern ultra-low power circuit techniques from the nanometrics CMOS design kits will be used. MAC layer adapted to the demands of the application and working on IR-UWB physical layer will be also studied and designed. A microprocessor integration on the chip for power management of the different parts (sensor, communication, computing, energy harvesting) of the system can also be studied. This work will be based on the previous research results obtained in our team in the case of static WSN. Full textLingonberry leaves are used to increase urinary excretion, to treat urinary tract infections and for kidney and gall stones [1, 2]. The greatest impact on therapeutic effects of leaves have phenolic compounds, that inhibit the entrenchment of particular bacteria in the urinary tract, the main of them being arbutin. Recent scientific research encourages the creation of new lingonberry pharmaceutical preparations. The aqueous extracts of Lingonberry leaves (decoctions, teas) are characterised by unpleasant-bitter and astringent taste and their shelf-life is very short. Therefore, it was decided to produce lingonberry leaves syrup as a form of pharmaceutical preparation. The aim: to produce lingonberry leaves syrup and to evaluate its quality. This research includes: qualitative analyses of lingonberry leaves raw material, detection of total phenol compounds by spectrophotometric method using arbutin in decoctions of lingonberry leaves and syrups of lingonberry leaves, detection of quantity of arbutin in lingonberry decoctions and leaves by high-performance liquid chromatography, and the quality evaluation and the stability evaluation of lingonberry leaves. Results: it was found out, that the fineness of the lingonberry leaves and their loss in drying coincide with the European Pharmacopoeia herbal raw material requirements. In the produced lingonberry leaves decoctions (1:10) the presence of arbutin has been proved and its quantity 3,38±0,11 pct. has been detected by HPLC... [to full text]
