Schultz, Johan. "Sensordatafusion av IR- och radarbilder." Thesis, Linköping University, Department of Electrical Engineering, 2004. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:liu:diva-2193.
This thesis describes and evaluates a number of algorithms for multi sensor fusion of radar and IR/TV data. The fusion is performed on raw data level, that is prior to attribute extraction. The idea is that less information will be lost compared to attribute level fusion. Two methods are presented. The first method transforms the radar image to the IR-view and vice versa. The images sharing the same dimension are then fused together. The second method fuses the original images to a three dimensional volume. Another version is also presented, where stereo vision is used. The results show that stereo vision can be used with good performance and gives a more general solution to the problem.

Full textNon-formal education in art and technology is up-to-date topic. The aspects of this type of education is not widely analyzed. In order to discuss the organization of education, therefore has arisen a problematical question: what are the opportunities of organizing non-formal art and technology education in primary grades, which would fulfill requirements of students and teachers? Subject. Non-formal education of art and technology in primary forms. Objective. Elucidation of possibilities of non-formal art and technological education in III-IV forms. Structure of survey. Pedagogical Studies thesis consists of an introduction, theoretical, analytical – reflex parts, conclusions, references and appendices. Scope of Thesis – 46 pages, investigation data are provided in 22 figures and 6 tables. Conclusion. Scientific and methodological analysis of the literature revealed that the non-formal education is important in the development of competencies that form a person who would be able to become an active member of society and successfully operate in it. What is more, children in well organized activities have the possibility to get to know oneself, perceive own needs and feel spiritual fulfillment. Due to that, youth succeed to become sociable. So, the process of organizing non-formal education must first begin with the understanding of student‘s needs. Properly organized non-formal education in art and technology promotes the necessity to develop visual and general artistic... [to full text]

The existing literature regarding leadership to support technology innovation in schools is limited. This qualitative study employs a multiple case study method to explore the leadership of superintendents in five school districts that have moved toward a 1:1 learning environment. This dissertation examined how superintendents gain acceptance for large-scale technology initiatives by describing the superintendent's own use of technology and their attitude about technology. The study explored the impact a superintendent's attitude and use of technology had on the acceptance of technology initiatives. The study highlights how superintendents use technology both professionally and personally. The study results indicated that while the superintendent's attitude about mobile devices in the hands of students has a profound impact on gaining acceptance for a large-scale technology initiative, it is inconclusive if the superintendent's use of technology has such an impact. The result is an important addition to the literature including recommendations for superintendents seeking to implement a large-scale technology initiative in their district

Overviews new medias, technocultural identity, examines the question of author and creativity in the mechanical creative process. It also analazises manifestations of human senses synesthesia and tries to discover the points of difference in naturalness and artificiancy, opportunities of expierences not based on human body. The work also overviews the futuristical way of expression, considers the forecasts of technological utopia. The capture of creative work, audiovideo installation “Marathon” process from conception to actual implementation is also included. Work is based on Lithuanian and foreign art theorists jobs.

Full textThe growth of computer-based testing over the last two decades has motivated the creation of innovative item formats. It is often argued that technology-enhanced items (TEIs) provide better measurement of test-takers’ knowledge, skills, and abilities by increasing the authenticity of tasks presented to test-takers (Sireci & Zenisky, 2006). Despite the popularity of TEIs in operational assessments, there remains little psychometric research on these innovative item formats. Claims regarding their potential to provide better measurement are seldomly explored. This dissertation adds to this limited body of research by developing theory and proposing a methodology to compare TEIs to traditional item formats. This study investigated how to judge the comparative measurement value (CMV) of two drag-and-drop technology-enhanced formats (classification and rank-ordering) relative to stem-equivalent multiple-choice items. Items were administered to a sample of adults and results were calibrated using a 2-parameter logistic IRT model. Moreover, the utility of the TEIs was evaluated according to the TEI Utility Framework (Russell, 2016). Four indicators were identified as the most valuable characteristics to judge CMV and then combined into a hierarchical decision protocol. When applied, this protocol provides a CMV judgment and a recommendation of the preferred item format. Applying the protocol to the items revealed that most TEIs examined in this study showed decreased CMV, indicating that in a real-life scenario the multiple-choice format would be favored for most of these item pairs. Recommendations for the use of the CMV protocol and directions of future related research are discussed

Full textOccupational safety and worker health conditions in industry depend on the implementation and administration of safety laws and regulations. Lithuania has recently increased the number of companies that run the occupational safety and health management systems. However, in the majority of businesses and particularly private farms the legislation is not sufficiently implemented, the document management is purely tokenistic and symbolic, professional risk assessment is not carried out, the managers or other authorized personnel show a lack of competence. The research results are based on the questionnaire. The agricultural companies engaged in the production and processing of agricultural products have been surveyed. Having summarized the results the safety, occupational risk assessment, authorizing the personnel to work in the field of safety and health management issues were discussed. Moreover, the checklist was prepared, the level of occupational safety was evaluated and measures to improve it have been provided regulating the government payments for agricultural sector.

Task of study – To find the intensity of the regeneration of black alders and to indentify how much does it depends on the main sort, age and the area. To find the intensity of the regeneration which depends on cutting technology Object of study – Black alders forests in Kazlu Rudas ferestry enterprice. Methods of study – There was 18 different areas of blac alders forests cutted in 1996-2006. For the researc of the areas there were been looking for the different technologies of the cutting, with a different forests, but most of all of black alders. In that areas were made special places of the counting, there were done these types of analysis: describtion of the area, counting of the natural regeneration of black alders, regeneration of another type of trees, intensity and the quality of the regeneration of black alders. Made a report of the condition and the quality of a young black alders forests. Results of study– There were cutted hundreds of hectares of black alders forests each year. About 87% of all cutted black alders areas were left to generate. The cutted areas are sucsesfully regenerating if they were cutted in winter time, and the year of the seeding. It is very important to leave the goog quality trees which had grown from the seeds. In the areas there were cutted using the footstalk technology the regeneration of black alders forests was good. In the most of all areas there... [to full text]
