Abstract:
Capability maturity models (CMM), an out growth of the decades old quality movement, and originally developed by Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute for the US Defense Department in the 1980s as a way to improve software engineering, has become the inspiration for similar models addressing every aspect of public management by governments around the world. CMM posits several evolutionary stages that organizations must pass through to achieve increasingly higher levels of capability in achieving quality. Stages are determined by research evidence, expert opinion, best practices and evaluations. While CMM has produced some impressive gains, it has drawn criticism for lacking a theoretical underpinning, exorbitant costs, being somewhat subjective and lack of success in many organizations. The field has no universal agreed upon standards, so it may be necessary to create an organization to study and vet various CMM applications. The field as it matures presents an excellent opportunity to study public management in the context of organizations employing CMM.

The ERNET network was only made available to educational and research communities. ERNET was initiated by the Department of Electronics (DoE), with funding support from the Government of India and United Nations Development Program (UNDP), involving eight premier institutions as participating agencies—NCST Bombay; Indian Institute of Science; five Indian Institutes of Technology at Delhi, Mumbai, Kanpur, Kharagpur, and Chennai; and the DoE in New Delhi. It is estimated that by 2017, internet users in India are most likely to be in a range of 450-465 million. The frequency of internet access among urban internet users in India is close to 51% or 137.19 million of internet users are using internet on a daily basis (at least once a day). On the other hand, 242 million or 90% of the urban internet user's use internet once a month. Analysis of ‘daily users' reveals that they are both in urban and rural India.

Abstract:
Interest in examining the role of leaders' personalities in teamwork and their influence on management style selection arises from the perception that existing research inadequately addresses these aspects, both theoretically and methodologically. Few efforts have been made to explore the influence of subjective factors, particularly leaders' personality characteristics, on management style choices in teamwork. This chapter, apart from its introduction and conclusion, comprises seven cohesive units within the theoretical framework. The practical aspect of the research involves statistical analysis using descriptive statistics (frequency and percentages) and analysis of variance to examine differences among respondents' assessments of team leaders' leadership styles' impact on team productivity based on demographic and status characteristics (such as gender, age, and level of professional education). Various statistical tests, including the F-test and Levene's test, were employed. Additionally, the study draws upon relevant literature and updated work practices to inform its findings, employing the aforementioned methodologies. Keywords: leadership; leadership qualities; intellectual capital; leadership style; creativity.JEL Classification: O34; O15. Cite this chapter:Šprajc, P., Podbregar, I., & Arsenijević, O. Abstract:
By 2050, people aged 60 and older will comprise 33% of Korea’s population, up from about 12% currently. In many occupational sectors, women retire at 55 and men at 60. This rapidly shifting demographic requires a new perspective on retirement and a better image of older persons in Korea. In line with the Active Ageing Framework of the World Health Organization, the Active Ageing Consortium in Asia Pacific (ACAP) advocates for changes to individual practices, social norms, and social policy to support the continued engagement of older adults as active contributors to society in the 21st century. Digital literacy is a critical element of Active Ageing, enhancing participation in today’s modes of communication and social connectivity. To promote the concept of Active Ageing with Digital Ageing, Korea’s Research Institute of Science for the Better Living of the Elderly (RISBLE) aims to increase Korean elders’ access to information and their opportunities for communication and participation. RISBLE’s programs—Cyber Family, Internet Navigator, and the 1080 Family Online Game Festival—help elders master new technology, strengthen intergenerational relations, gain leadership roles, and contribute as community teachers. This chapter reviews the Korean situation of ageing, outlines ACAP’s commitment to Active Ageing with Digital Ageing, and presents information on three RISBLE programs. These “best practices” are shared in hopes that other communities can learn from RISBLE’s work to reduce the ageing digital divide and promote digital life for older persons in South Korea.
