In this respect, it takes a unique approach with both its historical and contemporary analysis. First, it takes an in-depth approach to examining the role of mercenaries in South America’s Wars of Independence, Congo, and the Yemen. Second, the book attempts to explain why some mercenary operations succeed while others do not, using management theory.
