Abstract:
The Intellectual heritage of India is an integral part of Islamic civilization in Indian subcontinent and the development of Islamic civilization in India represents a regional pattern or a local formation of this civilization that occurred as a reaction and in response to the developments that were the result of Islam's insistence on survival in India and its fear for itself of being lost. The link among Urdu, Persian, Arabic and Turkish literatures is that each of them is considered influenced in its dimensions by Islamic civilization that emerges from the religion, science and art, and it is not permissible under any circumstances to sever the link among them, and we give an example for that saying that Persian literature is influenced by Arabic literature and the ancient Turkish literature is influenced by Persian literature influenced by Arabic literature, and Urdu literature is influenced by Arabic, Persian and Turkish literature, and from here we find similarities among these literatures that depict and speak about Islamic civilization in its various manifestations. Language of these different literatures is influenced by Arabic, as they contain countless Arabic words that evidence that they are all branched out from one origin, which is Islamic religion.

Abstract:
Islamic Civilization is one of civilizations which has a prominent role in the world civilizations history. But many bad stereotypes has been given by Orientalist about Islamic Civilization. More than it, some of them also regard that Islamic Civilization has the lowest contribution in human civilization advancement. To know how Islamic Civilization ruled and had a role in developing civilization in that time, so the writer uses hegemony theory of Antonio Gramsci. The result of this research proves that there are two ways done by Islamic Civilization in ruling the society under its authority, first is by structured leadership led by the highest commander in Islam society civilization, and second is by morality leadership which that moral is taken from Alquran principals and values. Despite opinions above, Islamic Civilization contributions also has been acknowledged by European especially in this three sectors, it is in science, morality and thought. The contribution of Islamic civilization in the field of Arabic Literature is the presence of themes of heroism and the spirit of struggle in European literary works.

Abstract:
Islamic civilization is made up of various civilizations, particularly in the Central Asian region where Buddhist and Islamic scholars from the Middle East are emerging. As a result of the interactions and relationships in the areas of science, literature, medicine and the architecture, Islamic civilization reached its peak in that era, particularly during the Abbasid period (750-1258 AD). Thus, this article discusses in detail what type of the Muslim-Buddhist relationship is, and how it contributes to Islamic civilization. The study method is qualitative by emphasizing content analysis as well as adopting a historical approach. Studies have found the intellectual activity of Muslim-Buddhist dialogue to be one of the contributing factors to the excellence of Islamic civilization, especially in the Abbasid times. Studies suggests on the exchange of knowledge and religious heritage to develop mutual understanding and tolerance among both the religious followers.

Abstract:
Civilization built on the principle of religion is certainly returned to its basic character, then what happens is not a clash of civilizations, but instead is the process of filling each other, complementing and influencing each other. In this framework, what must be built is to open space for the creation of dialogue between civilizations in order to fight for the meeting point of Western civilization and Islam globally, which also paves the way for the realization of mutual tolerance. The method used library research, collection techniques in this study, first select documents or literature related to research studies, secondary sources of data in this study are books that support the purpose about discussion of the dialogue of civilizations looking for common ground between Islamic civilization and the underlying west of Samuel P. Huntington's thesis. Procedures and stages of research that will be carried out by researchers in general there are three stages, namely the stage of preparation, implementation, reporting. In conducting data analysis, the author will use descriptive analysis These findings can mean a discussion about: 1) sketches of Islam's relationship with the West, 2) Islam and the West: conflicts or interests?, 3) dialogue of Islamic and Western civilizations: could it be?, 4) implications for diverse tolerance in Indonesia. So that the dialogue of Islamic and Western civilizations will be more able to understand the existence of ritual differences and produce mutual understanding and interpretation of diversity in the contemporary world.

This article discusses the renewal of civilization which is an integral part of Islamic thought. Using the qualitative analysis method, this literature review found several things about the meaning, meaning and origins of renewal in Islamic history. The relationship between the renewal of thought and the concept of ijtihad is also discussed, as well as how this renewal is manifested in the writings of Islamic thinkers. This article develops reform formulations and guidelines that contemporary Muslims must strive for in articulating the goal of harmony between civilizations and their cooperation for the common good.

A B S T R A C T The research aims to find out the history of literature in the Umayyad era, the Abbasid era, and find out how the relationship between this Islamic library network is. The method used in this study is to use historical research methods. Historical research also has stages of research methods. The first is finding the topic first, the next is the heuristic stage which means finding and gathering sources to be able to find out all past historical events or events, and the next stage is interpretation. The conclusion of this study is that during the Umayyad Daula period a breakthrough was made by developing private libraries, but also developing public libraries. Not a few from this era there are figures who are writers or authors of works in certain fields. Meanwhile, during the Abbasid period, it became the pinnacle of Islamic civilization. Muslim scholars who were experts in various sciences, both religious and non-religious, also appeared at this time. The development of civilization that was so rapid was also supported by the economic progress of the empire which became a link between the eastern and western worlds. Relatively good political stability, especially during the early Abbasid period, also became a trigger for the progress of Islamic civilization. Scientific relations in relation to Islamic literature is a complex relationship. From a historical point of view, this relationship has been established between the West and the East and vice versa, long before the appearance of Islam in the Arabian Peninsula, when the influence of Hellenism had spread to the eastern regions of Persia, Alexandria, Iraq. Keywords: Islamic Literature; Abbasid Daula; Umayyad Daula A B S T R A K Penelitian ini berusaha memahami hubungan antara jaringan perpustakaan Islam ini dengan sejarah sastra pada masa Bani Umayyah dan Abbasiyah. Pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam karya ini adalah dengan melakukan penelitian sejarah. Tahapan metodologi penelitian sering digunakan dalam studi sejarah. Menemukan topik didahulukan, kemudian muncul langkah heuristik, yaitu menemukan dan mengumpulkan informasi untuk mempelajari semua peristiwa atau peristiwa sejarah sebelumnya, dan terakhir adalah tahap interpretasi. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa periode Daulah Umayyah mengalami terobosan dalam perkembangan perpustakaan baik swasta maupun umum. Ada beberapa orang dari era ini yang merupakan sastrawan atau penulis karya dalam bidang tertentu. Sementara itu terjadi, ia naik ke puncak budaya Islam selama era Abbasiyah. Pada masa ini, para ilmuwan Muslim dengan keahlian di berbagai bidang—baik agama maupun sekuler—juga mulai bermunculan. Pertumbuhan ekonomi kekaisaran, yang berfungsi sebagai jembatan antara dunia timur dan barat, berkontribusi pada perkembangan peradaban yang cepat. Stabilitas politik yang umumnya kondusif, khususnya pada periode awal Abbasiyah, menjadi katalis bagi kemajuan peradaban Islam. Ada hubungan yang rumit antara sains dan sastra Islam. Dari segi sejarah, interaksi antara Barat dan Timur dan sebaliknya ini sudah terbentuk jauh sebelum masuknya Islam di Jazirah Arab, ketika Hellenisme sudah menjangkiti wilayah timur Persia, Aleksandria, dan Irak. Samuel Huntington (1927-2008) claimed that there would be seven eight civilizations ruling over the world in the coming centuries, thus resulting a possible clash among them. The West faces the greatest challenge from the Islamic civilization, as he claimed. Beginning from the Cold-War, the Western civilization became dominant in reality over other cultures creating an invisible division between the West and the rest. The main purpose of this research is to examine the perceived clash between the Western and Islamic Civilization and the criteria that lead a civilization to precede others. The research would conduct a comprehensive review of available literatures from both Islamic and Western perspectives, analyze historical facts and data and provide a critical evaluation. This paper argues that there is no such a strong reason that should lead to any clash between the West and Islam; rather, there are many good reasons that may lead to a peaceful coexistence and cultural tolerance among civilizations

Influential figures during Islamic civilization during the Dutch colonial period included K.H. Hasyim Asy'ari, Prince Diponegoro, Tuanku Imam Bonjol, Prince Antasari, and Teungku Cik Di Tiro. Nahdlatul Ulama University Blitar includes the History of Islamic Civilization course as a compulsory subject, especially for institutions affiliated with Islamic religious universities, both public and private throughout Indonesia, including the Islamic Psychology study program. Abstract:
Reading Islamic history and civilization and contemporary conditions affected by irrational religious narratives, the decline of Muslim society, conflicts, and violence prove that the decline and backwardness of civilization are still continuing in Islamic world. Various formula are offered to revive Islamic civilization. However, instead of compiling a formula with a strong scientific foundation, the response has been increasingly ideological and political from time to time. At the same time, unfortunately, the Muslim community used heretics and prohibitions to purge Islam’s only scientific and rational heritage, philosophy, from the stage of civilization. Through an interdisciplinary approach and critical discourse analysis methods utilizing empirical and literature to reveal the urgency of philosophy as an important tradition related to advance quality of civilization, this research findings important results are; First, Islamic philosophy deals with the creation of scientific and humanist culture which becomes basis progress of civilization. Second, after forbidden by Sunni orthodox which made political alliences with rulers, Islamic philosophy lost its influence, and gradually Islamic civilization declined. Third, decline that continue to this day is the result of the position of Islamic philosophy which has not been sufficiently revitalized in Muslim societies.

Abstract:
The problem of using the category of civilization in much of the social science literature is so obvious that it necessitates a philo­sophical definition. The heart of every civilization is its primordial tradition. The life of every civilization is tied to the well-being and operativeness of those religious truths that it upholds as sacred. When the religion dies, its civilization also dies. This paper points to the errant "clash of civilizations" thesis and argues that the seat of a universal ist consensus cannot be modernity. Rather, it must be religious traditions. It further argues that resuscitating the western tradition is a prerequisite for reconciliation between Islamic soci­eties and the West, and finally, that the ideology of globalism is the wrong milieu for finding such a common platform.

The NU congress that held in Jombang on 2015 entitled with Strengthening the Islam of the Archipelago for Indonesian and World Civilization. This theme can be captured as a confidence of NU’s people and muslim society in Indonesia that have applied on Islamic model. It can positively contribute to maintain civilization and world peace. Since then, Islam Nusantara discourse keep attracting the attention of Islamic reviewers in Indonesia. This debate appear because of some researcher take the different point of view. Far apart of the debate, the Islamic style of Indonesian society has proven to be able to maintain harmonious relations between Islam and nationality. The question of how Islam Nusantara should be understood is important to discuss, so it can be applied globally. Taking advantage of several literatures that pay attention to Indonesian Islam as the main reference, this study finds two main theses. First, in order to be replicated in a different space and time, Islam Nusantara must be positioned as an Islamic approach that rests on the strength of dialogue. As an approach, Islam Nusantara has similarities with the civilization approach. However, the Islamic Nusantara approach has richer features. Second, the Islamic Nusantara approach has the potential to be a counter-narrative of the clash of civilizations thesis. If the clash of civilizations does not promise anything for the future of Islamic and western relations apart from conflict, Islam Nusantara promises a constructive dialectic for both in realizing world peace.

In its analysis, this article identifies several key factors that make pesantren a pillar in the development of Islamic civilization in Indonesia. The history of civilization during classical Islam experienced significant developments, especially during the Andalusian society. This article aims to describe the Andalusian civilization's glories and its contribution to the renaissance and Aufklarung's birth in the West and its contextualization to advance Islamic education today. This article is a literature research concerning historical literature sources. This study uses a heuristic approach, criticism, interpretation and histography. The analysis and discussion results show that Andalusia has several forms of progress that Western impact progress, which includes several things. First, a civilization which is manifested in thoughts works of art, buildings and literature. Second, education adopted by Western nations through students. Third, a translation which revives the awareness of the use of ratio. During Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi’s regime, around 250,000 shops were closed, 31,000 traders were imprisoned, and many clerics and civilians were killed. Additionally, 70% of the newspapers in Iran were shut down. However, in 1979, the Iranian revolution took place, led by Imam Ayatullah Khomeini. This revolution was a turning point for Iran as it aimed to restore the glory of Islamic civilization in Iran. The Iranians believe that Islamic civilization is the best civilization and can bring justice. This paper aims to discuss the efforts made by Iranian Shiites in restoring the glory of Islamic Civilization from various perspectives such as religious, cultural, educational, and psychological. The research method used for this paper is qualitative, involving library research with data collection techniques through literature study and content analysis of research journals related to Iranian Shia civilization. After the Iranian revolution, Iranian Shiites reconstructed religious thought and cultural engineering. They also implemented the Imamiyah education system as the primary driving force. Moreover, the Iranian Shiite community can achieve their lofty ideals with good psychological aspects.

It can be concluded that, autobiographical writing in Islam is not a complete imitation of an external civilization encompassing concepts and forms. This study discusses the major contribution of Bendoro Pangeran Hangebehi (BPH) Sandiyo to the development of Islamic civilization in Indonesia in the 18-19th century. In 1755, when Mataram Kingdom as one of the major kingdoms in the archipelago split into two by the Giyanti Agreement, BPH Sandiyo and his brother, Sultan Hamengkubuwana I, in the Yogyakarta Sultanate, struggled to restore the kingdom into Mataram Sultanate. This study aims to analyze historical accounts of the contribution of BPH Sandiyo to the development of Islamic civilization in the Yogyakarta Sultanate in the 18th-19th century. The research was conducted using literature review, particularly through a qualitative descriptive study with a historical-analysis to explore data related to the contribution of BPH Sandiyo in Yogyakarta Sultanate. The study revealed that BPH Sandiyo had a considerable contribution to the development of the Islamic Civilization of the Archipelago (Islam Nusantara) of the Sultanate of Yogyakarta in the 18-19 Century through his efforts in establishing an Islamic education center, regenerating ulama and fighters, and generating Islamic literacy.

The Islamic Library in Cordoba was one of the leading libraries of its time, offering various fields of knowledge, including collections of Islamic and European history. This research aims to understand the development of scientific civilization which became a mecca of progress in Europe during the Second Umayyad Dynasty. This research methodology uses a library research approach with data collection through literature, documentation (both printed and electronic), as well as data and information sources relevant to the study. The findings in this study show that the development of science in Cordoba during the Second Umayyad Dynasty was driven by the construction of academies and libraries. The palace library in Cordoba, built by Caliph Abdurrahman, was one of the best libraries in the Islamic world at the time. It was staffed by a librarian called a "bakiya," and involved copyists and bookbinders. The glittering development of Islamic libraries during the Umayyad period had a great influence on the civilization of Arab society, making the Cordoba Library a center of advanced civilization in Europe. The existence of this library became the foundation for increasing knowledge and learning throughout the region, having a positive impact on civilization and culture at that time.

The descriptive qualitative research approach utilized in developing this study intends to describe the development and civilization of Islam. The writer also employs qualitative data analysis and the deductive writing style in this study. The findings show that some of the basics of Islamic civilization proposed by Prophet Muhammad that can be known; mosque building, forming the ukhuwah islamiyah, and building relationships between non-Muslims. Therefore, during this civilization, one of the famous scholars, Nourouzabad ash-Shiddiqi, states that the periods are committed to two periodizations; the classical period of Islam (650-1250), a period of Islamic progress, and a time of disintegration modern period of Islam (1800-today) is marked by the rise of Islam in politics, military, social, and cultural spheres and the revival of philosophical thinking among some of the Arab scientists.

This article conducted the qualitative method to analyze his writings and recent articles, journals, and books. This study has found that the political principles and philosophical approaches of Seyyed Jamal Uddin Afghani and it has a significant role in constantly striving to unite Islamic societies and save them from colonial oppression. Moreover, this article has illustrated Afghani's approach and how he came up with solutions for Muslim countries affected by western civilization in the 19th century. Islamic civilization has contributed significantly to the advancement of world science. This statement is revealed from the many Muslim scientists who contributed significantly to various scientific discoveries in every field, which inspired European scientists. In addition, the science developed also has its uniqueness and Islamic characteristics. The number of Muslim scientists and the development of science in the Islamic world raises a question of how science teaching is done in the Islamic world and what kind of science is taught. This research aims to reveal the uniqueness of science teaching applied in the history of Islamic civilization by analyzing the book Muqaddimah by Ibn Khaldun. This research is descriptive qualitative research with a literature review approach. The results found that the uniqueness of science teaching in Islamic civilization is centered on faith in Allah, not denying and involving the role of God in science teaching. The method applied in teaching science is done in stages (at-tadrij), repeating lessons (at-takrir) and developing them with experience and experimentation (at-tajribi). The science teaching strategy applied is establishing an authoritative teacher, understanding the learner's thinking and readiness, emphasizing teaching based on objectives, and simplifying instruction.

So from the description above, the author will explain how the development of Islam in Indonesia after independence, what caused the emergence of the Islamic renewal movement, especially in Indonesia. Method. This research uses the type of literature study (library research). The data collection technique carried out in this study uses a study of bibliographic sources from books and articles in scientific journals related to the subject matter, reading data with the thoughts of experts with a constructive approach and interpretation of the contents of the main discussion related to the development of Islam after independence. Results. After Indonesia's independence in 1945, Islamic civilization in the country continued to develop and made significant contributions in various aspects of life. Conclusion. After independence, Islamic education was one of the key points in the development of Islamic civilization in Indonesia. The thinking and writing of Indonesian Islamic intellectuals also developed with many studies, writings and translations of classical and modern Islamic works. Using historic-conceptual trace, this writing reveals the role of Islamic mysticism in developing Islamic civilization such as in philosophy, education, psychology, literature, dance and music. The fundamental concept of sufi wahdah al-Wujûd (the oneness of Being) gives contribution to solve problems related to modern science especially physic. Purpose The purpose of this paper is to draw Islamic marketing researchers’ attention to the potentials that historical nostalgia has for Islamic marketing research. Design/methodology/approach The paper is conceptual in its approach, drawing on extensive literature review on the origins of nostalgia in general and historical nostalgia in specific. The paper also draws on the Holy Qur’an and Islamic marketing research. Findings The paper shows that the Islamic philosophy for life and death establishes continuity between the history of the believers in the mundane life and their accountability and, hence, prosperity in the transcendent afterlife (the hereafter). This has connotations for Islamic marketing research. Future research directions are, therefore, stipulated. Research limitations/implications The research has implications for Islamic marketing research that draws on Islamic history and civilization. Practical implications The research has practical implications toward Islamic marketing researchers who draw on Islamic history, culture and civilization in designing marketing appeals. This study aims to understand Islamic civilization and the development of the Saluan tribe in Mondonun qualitatively. The method used is a literature study on the history and development of Islam and the Saluan tribe in Mondonun. The results of the study show that Islamic civilization has played an important role in the development of the Saluan tribe in Mondonun. Islam entered Mondonun in the 17th century through trade and marriage between Arabs and Malays. Islam brings changes in the mindset and culture of the Mondonun people, including in terms of religion, education, and social matters. The development of the Saluan tribe in Mondonun was also influenced by economic and political factors. They were an ethnic group who traded with Arabs and Malays, and later became part of the Muslim Mondonun community. The development of the Saluan tribe was also influenced by relations with the Dutch and Indonesian colonial governments. This study concludes that Islamic civilization and the development of the Saluan tribe in Mondonun are interrelated and have a significant influence on one another. This study can be the basis for further research on the history and development of Islam and the Saluan tribe in Mondonun, as well as for further understanding of Islamic civilization in other regions of Indonesia.

This paper aims to examine the era of Islamic intellectual packaging during the reign of Caliph Harun al-Rashid during the Abbasid dynasty in Baghdad. History has recorded that during the reign of the Abbasid dynasty, Muslims were truly at the peak of their glory and led world civilization at that time. The reign of the Abbasid dynasty was a "golden age" in the history of Islamic civilization, especially during the reign of Caliph Harun al-Rashid and al-Ma'mun. Harun al-Rashid is considered by historians to be the greatest and most brilliant caliph who brought the Abbasid dynasty to its golden age. He ruled for 23 years and made this dynasty achieve progress and glory in the fields of politics, economy, trade, science and Islamic civilization. This research concludes that the Abbasid Dynasty was the heyday of Islam in various fields, especially science and science. Islamic intellectual progress at that time was due to the caliph's love of science, the establishment of the Baitul Hikmah library, and the movement to translate various books and literature into and out of Arabic played a major role in shaping the Islamic intellectual world at that time.

This article explains the history of intellectual works produced by the Muslim community throughout the centuries and their relationship to social institutions or institutions in Islamic civilization. The main focus of the research is to reveal how Muslim intellectual thought has made a significant contribution to the development of social institutions in various historical contexts. This article includes an analysis of intellectual works related to law, ethics, education, and social order, and identifies their impact on Muslim society. Through a comprehensive literature review, this article examines the development of intellectualism in the Islamic tradition from early times to the modern era. Additionally, this article highlights the role of famous figures in the history of Islamic thought and the way their concepts have shaped social institutions such as the sharia legal system, educational institutions, and the social structure of Muslim societies. This research also highlights the contribution of Muslim intellectuals to the development of science and technology, which in turn influences social institutions and the development of civilization in the Islamic world. Through a deeper understanding of the history of Muslim intellectual works, this article aims to provide insight into how intellectualism and social institutions are interrelated in the context of Islamic civilization. Shalahuddin Al Ayyubi is a respected figure in Islamic history and is remembered as one of the most influential figures in the Middle Ages. This research aims to explain more comprehensively the leadership of Shalahuddin Al Ayyubi in Islamic civilization. This research is qualitative descriptive research with a literature study approach that refers to several research data sources and data collection techniques in the form of a study of Islamic civilization from the figure Shalahuddin Al Ayyubi. Data collection was carried out by searching and reconstructing from various sources such as articles in journals, books, and previous research that were relevant to the research study, which were then analyzed in a primordial manner. The focus of the research that will be addressed is the leadership of Shalahuddin Al Ayyubi in Islamic civilization. The data collection technique used in this research is the library research method, namely literature study with the data analysis technique used in this research is the hermeneutic method. In this research, it can be concluded that Shalahuddin Al Ayyubi was a general and Muslim fighter who had an intelligent soul and a noble heart. Shalahuddin Al Ayyubi was a prominent military and political leader, famous for his success in reclaiming the holy city of Jerusalem from the Crusaders. This crusade took place in three periods, namely the first period in 1096 -1144 AD, the second period in 1144 - 1192 AD, and the third period in 1193 -1291 AD. Shalahuddin Al Ayyubi's leadership in Islamic civilization was in sharp contrast to the existence of Ahlusunnah Waljamaah As an Official School, Appointment of Qadhi from the Ahlusunnah Waljamaah Group, Establishment of a Sunni Madrasah, Changing the Orientation of Al-Ahzar University to Sunni, and Elimination of Shiite Books.

Abstract Muhammad Asad, a young European Jew, converted to Islam as early as 26 years old. Since then, together with Muslims he developed spectacular Islamic thoughts. He also became the bridge between two great civilizations: Islam and the West. This study details his intellectuality as an influential European Muslim of the 20th century. This study uses content and historical analysis as research techniques in obtaining information on; the Islamic traces of Muhammad Asad, his experience of Western and Islamic interaction, as well as his exceptional thinking. This study finds that there were various contributions of Muhammad Asad in Islamic intellectual world such as shariah thought, politics, literature and tafsir. Muhammad Asad's service to Islam clearly shows that he deserves to be appointed as an Islamic intellectual figure of the 20th century. Animal treatment has a comprehensive connotation and far-reaching implications in Islamic civilization. The rationes leges for this broader meaning in human-animal relations are the principles laid out in the two foundational sources of Islam, i.e., the Qurʾān and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muḥammad. While dealing with the subject of animals, different disciplines carried the framework drawn in these two sources to a more abstract level,thereby becoming the very basis for practices in societies’ daily life. One of these disciplines, Islamic jurisprudence deals with how people are to preserve the God-given rights of animals while extracting benefit from in different chapters. In this article, I will first provide a brief introduction to animal welfare and protection in Islamic civilization. I will then focus on how scholars have interpreted the Qurʾānic concept of community (ummah, plural:umam) in exegetical literature. After that, I will show how the Prophet Muḥammad’s approach of gentleness (rifq) and excellence (iḥsān) manifested in his treatment of animals through several examples from the ḥadīth literature.Finally, I will attempt to demonstrate how Islamic jurisprudence embodies this theoretical framework through the concept of harm. In conclusion, I will show that there are important concepts and examples in Islamic thought that shed light on scholarship in the field of animal studies.

This historical study aims to see how history is relevant to the achievements of the progress of the civilization of the archipelago through the study of sociological science. For this reason, we have searched literature from several well-known journals. Next, we analyzed the literature to find data that could answer the questions of this study as much as possible. The data study starts with a coding system study and a specific evaluation to answer study questions with high validity elements. The journals we have visited include Google Books, Elsevier, Academic docs, and other publishers published ten years ago. Based on the discussion data, we can conclude that there is a very close relevance between the history of the Indonesian nation and the progress of civilization in the archipelago, which is now dominated by the influence of Islamic civilization and westernization. We hope this finding is helpful for future studies of Indonesian historical literature and civilization.

This research aimed to reveal the roles of Islamic and Arabic literature's history in studying Islamic literature and sciences; Therefore, the reception theory and critical method were used to answer such issues. The reception theory is a discipline that optimizes the roles of readers and interpreters (mufassirīn) in revealing the meaning of Islamic literature and Al-Quran texts. As for the critical method, it is how the readers and interpreters respond, perceive, and interpret the texts of Islamic literary works and Al-Quran, equipped with al-qawā'id wal-ma'ārif, and storage or repertoire (knowledge within the mind of interpreter); Accordingly, the general audiences can comprehensively and contextually understand the text concretization presented by the interpreters. The results showed that analyzing and interpreting Islamic literary text require knowledge related to Arabic literature's history, especially from the early days of Islam to contemporary times. Meanwhile, analyzing and interpreting al-Quran and Hadith texts also require knowledge of Islamic civilization history and other Islamic sciences such as Arabic knowledge (nahwu, sharaf, and balāghah), asbābun-nuzūl (concerning Al-Quran texts), asbābul-wurūd (concerning Hadith texts), and others.
