Abstract:
The parking application service at the University of Muhammadiyah Gresik is an update from the previous system. Of course, this application requires a system that is practical, efficient, and also has good data storage security. One of the references that can be used that these things have been fulfilled in this application is an analysis using ISO 9241-11. The purpose of this study was to analyze the application of UMG parking for the feasibility of ISO 9241-11. Analytical research methods used include determining clauses, checklists, Likert scales, maturity levels, and fishbone diagrams. Clause, checklist use for getting assessment based on the park system, then from that result will be used to get the qualification of this system with liket scale in each clause of this standard, and assessment of all clause with likert scale , the result of level quality assurance of this system will be found. Next the using fishbone diagram can analyze to get the root cause of clause dan quality assurance in ISO 9241-11. Because that , with this study we can know the qualification and the root cause of park system. And the analysis using that tool, this system still not suitable to use ISO 9241-11. The parent of root cause is in efficiency clause in organitation like less costing and planning.

Abstract:
This paper aims at evaluating an anthropomorphic prosthetic hand based on usability concept. It can be controlled for pre-defined five motions. The assessment is conducted by design approach. Users are given the task according to the rules of hand benchmarking in Southampton Hand Assessment Procedure (SHAP) by using Anthropomorphic Prosthetic Hand to perform daily activities. The quantitative data is obtained by a test that based on the criteria of learnability, memorability, satisfaction, efficiency and errors. The qualitative data is obtained by giving USE (Usefulness, Satisfaction and Ease of Use) questionnaires. The recommendation design is prepared by using Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method to combine suggestions from respondents and product developers. Assessment by USE questionnaires shows that the usability level of Anthropomorphic Prosthetic Hand on the aspect of usefulness is 68.3% and 63.8%; satisfaction is 59.5% and 55.6%. The improvement recommendations based on the result of (QFD) are Variant material to connect to the arm, System to connect to arm, Dimension of connecting to arm, Connection information to the arm, and Instructions for the exercise stage. So that improvement is done in accordance with ISO 9241-11: 1998.

A gestão de design é uma área que carece de produtos para o seu gerenciamento. As medidas de usabilidade da NBR ISO 9241-11 e os princípios de usabilidade de Jordan estabelecem requisitos e especificações que podem ser usadas na concepção de uma ferramenta voltada à gestão de design. Para levantar as informações necessárias e compreender o funcionamento e as necessidades da gestão de design, foi realizado um estudo de caso em um estúdio de design. A partir do conhecimento do contexto de uso e dos objetivos da ferramenta a ser desenvolvida, foram estabelecidos os requisitos para as medidas eficácia, eficiência e satisfação conforme a NBR ISO 9241-11 e, posteriormente, a partir dos princípios de Jordan, foram elencadas as exigências de usabilidade. Com isso, espera-se que a ferramenta privilegie o conforto e a usabilidade dos usuários no contexto da gestão de design.

Abstrak— Aplikasi pengelolaan laboratorium komputer dirancang dan diterapkan sebagai studi kasus pengukuran evaluasi tingkat kegunaan, dengan tujuan akhir sebagai peningkatan layanan dari laboratorium. Aplikasi dirancang untuk dapat mengakomodasi tiga tingkatan pengguna dengan memiliki empat fitur utama, yaitu: chatting, internet connection, service request serta information. Hasil rancangan dan implementasi aplikasi telah dievaluasi dengan menggunakan standar ISO 9241-11 untuk mengukur tingkat kegunaan (usability) terhadap pengguna, tiga faktor yang terlibat dalam pengukuran adalah efektivitas, efisiensi, serta kepuasan. Pengukuran tingkat kegunaan penting untuk menentukan tingkat penerimaan pengguna terhadap aplikasi dan sekaligus sebagai sarana pengumpulan masukan untuk penyempurnaan aplikasi bagi pengembang. Hasil evaluasi untuk tingkat efektivitas menunjukkan angka keberhasilan yang tinggi terhadap penggunaan aplikasi, yaitu 90-100%. Sedangkan hasil pengukuran efisiensi menunjukkan waktu penggunaan fitur yang masih belum merata, ada sebagian fitur yang masih belum intuitif sehingga membutuhkan waktu yang cukup panjang bagi pengguna untuk mengoperasikan sebuah fitur, dengan waktu terlama 20 detik. Sejalan dengan hasil evaluasi efektivitas yang tinggi, pengukuran tingkat kepuasan pengguna juga menghasilkan contribution score yang signifikan di angka 88,75, sehingga dapat ditarik simpulan bahwa pengguna hanya memiliki sedikit ketidaknyamanan pada aplikasi dan relatif memberikan penilaian positif pada implementasi aplikasi.Kata Kunci—Evaluasi usability, Perancangan Perangkat Lunak, Standar ISO 9241-11, User ExperienceAbstract— A laboratory management application has been designed and implemented as a case study for usability evaluation of the application, with the final aim is to increase the service level of the laboratory. The application is designed to accommodate three different users with their own specific roles and also has four main features, that are: chatting, internet connection, service request, and information. The result of the application’s design and implementation have been evaluated using ISO 9241-11 standard to measure the effectivity, efficiency, and satisfaction. The measurement of usability level is important for determining the users’ acceptance level of application and also as a feedback mechanism for the benefit of application improvement by the developer. Evaluation results for effectivity level show a high success rate of the application usage, as big as 90-100%. While the efficiency measurement results show the time of use of application’s features that are still not evenly distributed, there are several features that are not quite intuitive and require a long time for users to accomplish some particular tasks, with the longest time is 20 seconds. In line with the high result of effectivity, measurement of users satisfaction also show a significant contribution score at 88,75, so it can be concluded that users only have minor inconvenience against the application and tend to have a positive rating to the application.Keywords— ISO 9241-11 Standard, Software Design, Usability Evaluation, User Experience

Abstract:
Fourth Industrial REvolution offers various technological innovations that contribute significant advantages to the university. The development of the web app voting system (WAVS) in Eastern Visayas State University - Tanauan Campus transformed the voting experience of university students. The study aimed to determine the extent of usability of the WAVS in the Supreme Student Government election. A total of 203 students (voters) served as the respondents using a convenient sampling technique. A descriptive quantitative research design was employed to present the respondents’ views and opinions. The study revealed the system evaluation to be “Excellent” in all factors of usability components on effectiveness (3.50), efficiency (3.43), and user satisfaction (3.42) with a grand mean of 3.45. The WAVS exceeded the users’ requirements on the context of use principles allowing them to perform their tasks efficiently and effectively. The results of the study present an interesting direction of the system implementation across campuses of the university. Developers should consider the mobility of system connectivity using a secured virtual private network (VPN) of the university. Implement security measures on voter’s identity and network firewall encryption. Finally, developers of the system should always consider the usability principles and user requirements in developing an effective and efficient information system.

Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to test the usability of Wadaya application prototype using usability testing method adopting ISO 9241: 11 standard. Wadaya application prototype will be tested using three usability concepts namely effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction. In this research, testing will be done twice with 20 respondents. The first prototype test result shows that (1) Wadaya application prototype is still not effective seen from mistakes made by respondents when during the execution of the task. The results showed 53.57%. (2) Wadaya application prototype is not efficient seen from the result of 44% Overall Relative Efficiency. (3) Wadaya application prototype has not fulfilled user satisfaction seen from 59,00 SUS score. The second prototype test results show that (1) Wadaya application second prototype is still not effective seen from mistakes made by respondents when during the execution of the task. The results showed 19,17% for the beginner group and 25,00% for the advance group. (2) Wadaya application second prototype is not efficient seen from the result of 74% Overall Relative Efficiency. (3)Wadaya application second prototype has fulfilled the user satisfaction seen from SUS score of 69,00 which is stated have satisfied when compared with SUS standard that is 68.

Abstract:
<p><strong>Purpose:</strong> This study endorses AI enabled Mobile Health application and investigates usability evaluation of the Mobile Health application by patients’ task performance evaluation and satisfaction.</p><p><strong>Materials and Methods</strong>: International Organization for Standards (ISO) 9241-11 standard metrics were used and 15 patients performed tasks on task success rate, errors, efficiency (time spent), satisfaction (SUS scale).</p><p><strong>Results:</strong> Getting registered was a top easy task while finding a relevant doctor was the most difficult task for users. The satisfaction scores by SUS suggest good rather excellent application user experience. Male were successful task achievers, while educational level and mobile know-how influence the usability scores in terms of time consumed, task errors occurred, and task completed.</p><p><strong>Conclusion:</strong> Methods used in this study suggest future research from different contexts. Using ISO 9241-11 usability standards, the SUS instrument for satisfaction, and measuring user characteristics influence performance and can provide considerable Mobile Health design.</p>

Marknaden för smartphones har vuxit stort under de senaste åren och även utveckling av applikationer till dessa. Då utveckling av applikationer för smartphones skiljer sig från traditionell utveckling så passar inte traditionella utvecklingsprocesser för utveckling till smartphones på ett optimalt sätt. Denna studie undersöker mobilapplikationsutveckling med fokus på användbarhet. Då det råder brist på systemutvecklingsprocesser för mobilapplikationsutveckling så vill denna studie utvärdera ISO standarden ”ISO 9241-210 – Användarcentrerad design för interaktiva system”. Denna standard är en samling av riktlinjer och krav för generell systemutveckling. Studien utvärderar därför lämpligheten att använda ISO 9241-210 för utveckling av mobilapplikationer, då fokus ligger på användbarhet. En prototyp för iPhone utvecklades med ISO 9241-210 som bas och utvärderades sedan för att se om användbarheten var acceptabel. Författarna utvärderade också hur ISO 9241-210 riktlinjer hade implementerats i utvecklingen av prototypen och även utvärderat om riktlinjerna i Apples App Design Strategies har motsvarande riktlinjer i ISO 9241-210. Slutsatsen är att ISO 9241-210 är en bra grund att stå på vid utveckling av mobilapplikationer men att det finns några riktlinjer som kan ges mer eller mindre fokus, beroende på projektets omfattning.

Användbarhet är idag en del av människa-dator interaktion som bl.a. Södertörns högskola satsar på att lära ut. Syftet med denna undersökning är att belysa användbarheten på Södertörns högskolas hemsida. För att definiera användbarhet används den internationella standarden för användbarhet (ISO 9241-11, 1998) samt människa-dator interaktionsforskaren Jacob Nielsens definition av användbarhet. Detta har genomförts genom en observationsstudie med fem användare. Resultatet visade tendenser till användbarhet men visade också betydelsen av uppsatta användbarhetsmål.
Today, usability is a part human-computer interaction which Södertörn University, among others, is teaching to their students. The purpose with this survey is to illuminate the usability of the website of Södertörn University. To define usability the international standard for usability (ISO 9241-11, 1998) was used as well as the definition of usability by the Danish human-computer interaction scientist Jacob Nielsen. The survey was done with a number of observations with five users of the website. The results showed tendencies towards the usability but also showed the importance significance of usability goals.

Idag är internet ett av de mest använda medieverktyg som bör finnas tillgängligt för alla människor, även personer med funktionsnedsättningar. Målet med denna uppsats är att undersöka om webb-tv på internet är tillgängligt för användare med funktionsnedsättning, särskilt synskadade. Två stora webb-tv-plattformar SVT Play och TV4 Play undersöks i denna uppsats för att veta om webb-tv på internet är något som är tillgängligt för synskadade användare. För att webbplatser ska vara så tillgängliga och användbara som möjligt för personer med synskador bör de följa riktlinjer som WCAG 2.0 och ISO 9241-11. För denna uppsats har det använts skrivbordsundersökningar och fallundersökningar. Två olika typer av fallundersökningar användes i denna uppsats, enkäter och observationer. Dessa två fallundersökningar avslutades under 2012. Enkäter skapades för att låta respondenterna ge sina åsikter på flera områden om SVT Play och TV4 Play. Syftet med enkäterna var att undersöka hur synskadade uppfattar SVT Play och TV4 Play. Observationer gjordes för att få en detaljerad iakttagelse om vilka problem som kan uppstå för synskadade. Tre olika användare observerades när de använde SVT Play och TV4 Play. Från dessa observationer kan man se hur tillgängligt och användbart plattformarna är för synskadade användare. I uppsatsen har rekommendationer nämnts med avseende på förbättring av dessa webb-tv-plattformar, med fokus på tillgänglighet och användbarhet för synskadade användare. Resultaten i denna uppsats är att både SVT Play och TV4 Play har brister inom användbarheten och tillgängligheten för synskadade användare. Detta trots att webb-tv:n följer riktlinjerna innebär det inte en tillfredställande tillgänglighet för synskadade användare.

Abstract:
Detta arbete är en jämförande studie mellan mätningar inom användbarhet. Studien jämför en heuristisk utvärdering med ett användartest, med inriktning på ekonomi och resultat. Syftet är att belysa den ekonomiska aspekten mellan de två metoderna. Samtidigt undersöker studien om heuristisk utvärdering är en metod som lämpar sig som beslutsunderlag. Studien är genomförd på ett tryckeri där tryckeriets IT-system har testats och utvärderats utifrån de två metoderna. Studien baseras på kvalitativa och kvantitativa metoder så som strukturerade och ostrukturerade intervjuer, observationer och enkäter.Arbetet behandlar användbarhet som begrepp och metoder för hur användbarhet mäts. Relevant teori presenteras i teoridelen och behandlas i diskussionen. De båda metoderna var relativt lika varandra. Den stora skillnaden ligger i att användartestet gav mätbara resultat medan den heuristiska utvärderingen resulterade i en givande diskussion. Ur ett ekonomiskt perspektiv var den heuristiska utvärderingen betydligt billigare att genomföra. Undersökningen visar att den heuristiska utvärderingen fungerar bra. Dock bör metoden undersökas ytterligare för att styrka påståendet.
Resource-saving methods in usability This essay is a comparative study of measuring usability. The study compares a heuristic evaluation with a usability test, with focus on economy and performance. The aim is to highlight the economic aspect between the two methods, also if the study of heuristic evaluation is a method suitable for decision-making. The study is conducted on a printing company where the company’s IT systems have been tested and evaluated on the basis of the two methods. The study is based on qualitative and quantitative methods such as structured and unstructured interviews, observation and questionnaires.The study deals with usability as a concept and different methods for measuring usability. Relevant theory is presented in the theoretical part and is discussed and addressed in the discussion.Both methods were relatively similar. The major difference is that the user test yielded measurable results, while the heuristic evaluation resulted in a fruitful discussion. From a financial perspective, the heuristic evaluation is significantly cheaper to implement. The study shows that the heuristic evaluation works well. However, the method should be further investigated to prove the claim.

Context: Smartphone is gaining popularity due to its feasible mobility, computing capacity and efficient energy. Emails, text messaging, navigation and visualizing geo-spatial data through browsers are common features of smartphone. Display of geo-spatial data is collected in computing format and made publically available. Therefore the need of usability evaluation becomes important due to its increasing demand. Identifying usability requirements are important as conventional functional requirements in software engineering. Non-functional usability requirements are objectives and testable using measurable metrics. Objectives: Usability evaluation plays an important role in the interaction design process as well as identifying user needs and requirements. Comparative usability requirements are identified for the evaluation of a geographical information system (Google Maps) on personal computer (Laptop) and smartphone (iPhone). Methods: ISO 9241-11 guide on usability is used as an input model for identifying and specifying usability level of Google Maps on both personal computer and smartphone for intended output. Authors set target value for usability requirements of tasks and questionnaire on each device, such as acceptability level of tasks completion, rate of efficiency and participant’s agreement of each measure through ISO 9241-11 respectively. The usability test is conducted using Co-discovery technique on six pairs of graduate students. Interviews are conducted for validation of test results and questionnaires are distributed to get feedback from participants. Results: The non-functional usability requirements were tested and used five metrics measured on user performance and satisfaction. Through usability test, the acceptability level of tasks completion and rate of efficiency was matched on personal computer but did not match on iPhone. Through questionnaire, both the devices did not match participant’s agreement of each measure but only effectiveness matched on personal computer. Usability test, interview and questionnaire feedback are included in the results. Conclusions: The authors provided suggestions based on test results and identified usability issues for the improvement of Google Maps on personal computer and iPhone.

Två grundläggande paradigm inom datavetenskap är objektorienterad programmering och relationsdatabasteknik. En kombinering av applikationer gjorda i ett objektorienterat programmeringsspråk med den beständighet och funktionalitet som ges av relationsdatabaser är en möjlig vidareutveckling av ens kunskaper inom dessa områden. Kombinationen av dessa båda förutnämnda paradigm innebär åtminstone ett problem som uppkommer då en relationsdatabas lagrar data i tabeller och en objektorienterad applikation lagrar data i objekt. Detta problem kallas objekt/relations paradigmens missanpassning. På grund av detta problem så måste kopplingen mellan paradigmen skötas av ett ramverk av något slag. I vår rapport så undersöker vi två av de ramverk som behandlar kopplingen mellan paradigmen. Specifikt i våran studie kommer vi att fokusera på kvalitetsattributet användbarhet. De ramverk som vi undersöker heter Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) och Hibernate. Båda dessa verktyg är skapade för det objektorienterade programmeringsspråket Java.

A combination of an object oriented application with the persistence and functionality provided by relational databases is a further development of one’s knowledge within these areas. The combination of the two aforementioned paradigms will yield at least one problem, which occurs because in a database data is stored in tables whereas an object oriented application stores data in objects. This problem is called the object/relational paradigm mismatch. Because of this problem the connection between the paradigms must be handled by some kind of framework. In our report we investigate two of the frameworks which handle the connection between the paradigms. Specifically in our study we will focus on the quality attribute usability of the two frameworks and conduct a comparison between these two. The frameworks we investigate are called Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) and Hibernate. Both of these tools are created for the object oriented programming language Java.

Abstract:
Usability is an acknowledged important aspect of any system or product design. Many times it is related to not only product features, but also ultimately profit that can be generated from the product. Good interface design promotes higher mutuality (feeling similar and connected), which in turn leads to higher levels of involvement and a favorable impression of credibility. Many practitioners and researchers (such as Jakob Nielsen, 2000) have elaborated on usability aspects, but few have agreed upon a unifying definition. In 1998 the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) defined usability as the “Extent to which a product can be used by specified users to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction in a specified context of use” (ISO 9241-11, 1998, p. 2). From this definition it can be construed that effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction are three pillars for usability measures. In this regard, the ISO defines: • Effectiveness as the “accuracy and completeness with which users achieve specified goals,” • Efficiency as the “resources expended in relation to the accuracy and completeness with which users achieve goals,” and • Satisfaction as the “freedom from discomfort, and positive attitudes towards the use of the product.” The ISO standard acknowledges that the level of usability depends highly on the intended context of use (e.g., users, hardware, software, and social environments). Researchers have demonstrated that the three ISO usability components are distinct. Frøkjær, Hertzum, and Hornbæk (2000) found only a weak relationship among the three usability components. Walker, Fromer, Di Fabbrizio, Mestel, and Hindle (1998) found that efficiency did not translate into user satisfaction. These empirical studies suggest that efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction may be independent aspects of usability and a causal relationship among them may be weak or even nonexistent.

Abstract:
Human-computer interaction (HCI) can be defined as a discipline, which is concerned with the design, evaluation and implementation of interactive computing systems [products] for human use (Hewett et al, 1996). Evaluation and design require a definition of what constitutes a good or bad product and, thus, a definition of interactive product quality (IPQ). Usability is such a widely accepted definition. ISO 9241 Part 11 (ISO, 1998) defines it as the “extent to which a product can be used by specified users to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction in a specified context of use.” Although widely accepted, this definition’s focus on tasks and goals, their efficient achievement and the involved cognitive information processes repeatedly caused criticism, as far back as Carroll and Thomas’ (1988) emphatic plea not to forget the “fun” over simplicity and efficiency (see also Carroll, 2004). Since then, several attempts have been made to broaden and enrich HCI’s narrow, work-related view on IPQ (see, for example, Blythe, Overbeeke, Monk, & Wright, 2003; Green & Jordan, 2002; Helander & Tham, 2004). The objective of this article is to provide an overview of HCI current theoretical approaches to an enriched IPQ. Specifically, needs that go beyond the instrumental and the role of emotions, affect, and experiences are discussed.

Abstract:
This paper presents the Slim&Healthy system, focusing on the control of obesity in adults and aiming at the adoption of healthy habits. The system consists of two parts: a) an Android application on the client mobile device; b) an application on a server. The paper integrates different theories to increase user motivation, such as gamification, social networks, design heuristics for mobile devices and behavioral theories. It was performed an evaluation of the application interface through a questionnaire adherent to standards ISO 9241-11 and ABNT ISO/IEC 25062:2011, and the results are presented for discussion.
