Full textThe present thesis deals with the study of the doris severior vocalic system of the ancient laconian dialect (7th-3rd Century B. C. ) as well with the study of this system as it was formed during the "Dark Ages". This period which extends from the 12th to 8th Century B. C. , is related with the loss of the syllabic script transcribing the mycenean, the sole attested greek dialect of the 2nd millenium B. C. , as well as with what is termed as "the Dorian migration". The linguistic analysis is based on both the principles of the sructural-diachronic linguistics developed by the French linguist André Martinet and the principles of the linguistic reconstruction. The linguistic study is based on a corpus of transcriptions in the alphabetic script. . .
