I analyze the time-variation of long-term risk-adjusted abnormal stock price underperformances following equity issues on Oslo Stock Exchange between 1997 and 2011. Rights issues are an area of much interest and research globally. With the last significant local study on the topic conducted in 2005, this paper updates the findings based on more recent data. This is also the first study to explore the impact that the company’s financial position has on the share price reaction to the announcement. Specifically, I work on two issues :(1) how multiple equity issuers perform for issues? and (2) price discounts? The results show that if firms perform well after a new equity issue, they are prone to conduct a subsequent financing activity.
